Tom no longer works here and after many tries to see if this spot could still be one I frequent,…read morethis past visit was the last straw. I called at 1 PM and asked to schedule an appointment for 2 pedicures at 5 PM. The employee told me no problem please come at 5 then. Upon arriving the shop was bustling and busy but we waited after checking in. It took until 5:40 to be placed in a chair and then at 5:55 with my feet still soaking I asked how long would the pedicure take? They told me 45 min but I had to leave by 6:15-6:20 so I told them I'd have to go instead of getting my toes done. No one had set up. No one had spoken to me about the service. They put me in a chair and had my feet soaking when I said I needed to go. I promptly offered to pay for just the soak because I had a time constraint and had to go. It is now 6:05 and the service hasn't been started. Immediately the woman who owns the shop was rude and standoffish when I said I had to go, again I called about coming at 5 AND offered to pay for the soak. She just grunted and didn't respond then proceeded to loudly and obviously begin talking about me to her coworkers about my asking to leave (including pointing at me). Taking my feet out the soak I asked for a towel. She grabbed the used, dirty towel someone had just left on the next chair over then just threw it on the floor. DISGUSTING. I was happy to pay for the soak and come back the next day when I had time. Now I'll never be back. Dirty and rude. Highly recommend skipping out of coming here.

I like to patronize minority business. I look for them specifically…read more I can't remember where I found out about this salon, but I'm glad that I did. Located in Capital Heights, at my first appointment, it was kind of hard to spot. Be aware of the parking, as some of the spots are assigned. Upon walking in, use the door on the right to access the nail salon. Appointments are made online, and Tenecia prefers that appointments are made at the half hour only. No problems there. Nice selection of colors to choose from, and the place is clean. I noticed that Tenecia takes the time to clean the bowl in between clients, which I totally dig. Also, she uses new new tools, like emery boards, and buffers for each person. My first appointment was a gel mani (with designs of course) and a pedi. Let me tell you, it was one of thee best pedicures that I have EVER had. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. I loved the gel manicure as well, because she actually does a manicure; you know soaks the hands, trims the cuticles, massage, and the like. She totally takes her time. My nails were shaped beautifully, and they actually grew! Woop! My only issue, is that my mani didn't last as long as I would have expected, but that could totally be me, because I'm super hard on my nails. Oh, another plus is that she totally accommodated me (in between clients) when I chipped my toe...see uber hard on my nails. No matter here though; because, my services were done well, and it is fairly priced. I will definitely be returning.

Since slots fill up fast, I went ahead and booked for the rest of the year. I needed to find somewhere that was preferably black owned since the other place I found took entirely too long. The parking is very limited and the lot is kind of tight. There's a parking lot on the other side, so I parked there and walked the short distance over. The inside of the shop isn't very big. However, it wasn't crowded, so I think it wouldn't be a problem. Also I wasn't positive as to how to book nail designs, but Tenicia explained with no problem and now I know what to do when scheduling. Even with this, she was still able to accommodate me within my appointment time. I really appreciated that. I read a few reviews about Tenicia's attitude, but I didn't have an issue. She wasn't talkative, but I wasn't really looking for that. She came off as professional and cordial and that was perfectly acceptable in my book. I really enjoyed the service and the work was awesome. The work was fast, but high quality. After 10 long years, I think I found my spot. https://www.styleseat.com/teniciaingram?utm_campaign=email_profile_User

This is a video review of the technician who started my pedicure and behaved in a completely…read moredisrespectful and unprofessional manner. She should be held accountable for how poorly she represented this salon. I arrived around 7:33 PM and even opted for gel polish (instead of regular) to be considerate of the time. She placed my feet in plain water with no soap, and I had to ask for a soak product. She then rushed into pushing my cuticles back without letting them properly soak. When I asked for a few minutes to soak, she snapped, "Do you want to do the pedicure or not?" and when I calmly responded "Yes but, not with disrespect." , she walked out mid-service--literally left the building--after speaking to another tech in another language. She tossed me to the other technician, who was also preparing to leave and couldn't finish me up. The worst part? As she walked out, [the original tech] she said "F* you" to me. * (listen closely to the video, you can hear her.) I left feeling completely disrespected and told the remaining tech (I think Ann) that her $20 fee for my toe tips (because the pedicure never got done) should be deducted from her paycheck due to her poor service. I've been coming here for a while, but after this, I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this salon to anyone expecting respectful, professional service if this woman is still employed there. PS- I gave 1 star because of the cleanliness.

The salon is spacious with 10-14 nail stations and about 10 pedicure chairs . There is a television showing mostly travel images and music is played. They do offer beverages during appointments. The last two visits (actually 3) have been less than pleasant. The nail technician does a good job, but the polishing could use some work, the sides of the nail are often missed as the painting is a straight line. The front desk and lack of punctuality with appointments is what is upsetting. An appointment before Christmas was not honored, in fact the technician was over 20 minutes late and nobody said anything, no acknowledgement that the technician was running behind or offer of water etc. I walked out. The woman who works and the desk chased me down and begged me to return. I had another commitment directly after so I said I would come back another day. That evening another person from the salon called me to apologize and offered a discount when I returned. The discount wasn't honored. Again during my last appointment the tech was late (15 minutes) and this was after an older gentlemen working the front desk called to ask me if I would be on time to appointment. Lastly, their prices are not posted and I feel they are quite expensive ($55 for an acrylic fill with gel polish). They charge an extra 4% if you use a credit card to pay. Pack your patience and make sure you know what you're being charged for before visiting this location.

The other tech said yes. The person working on me started to speak another language. After further inspection, all of my toes have the same bleed. Rather than redo them all I opted not to have them all done. Is it really so hard to polish toes and not file off your cuticle beds to correct the mistake?

Overall, I think that they did a pretty good job on the actual painting of my nails. As in, the paint with even without bubbles, etc. That said, The gel on my toes did not last. And two nails in my fill/full set. (Had them since March with no issues) started to lift at the base of the nail. This happened within a week and a half. My big toe polish chipped in about four days. This was before any type of yoga, working out, anything. I also have become very accustomed to the woman who typically does my pedicure is being very thorough with removing ingrown, excess skin, calluses, etc. I definitely found myself wanting more from the callous removal. However, when I most appreciated was the fact that I picked a color that didn't end up looking good on the nail, and my nail tech convinced me to get something better. I'm glad she did because I was super on the fence about it. Also, it's worth noting that this place was absolutely packed on Friday afternoon.

I look forward to getting my nails done every 3-4 weeks as long as it's with Poli. The only issue I've ever had was when my nail chipped the same day I got them done, but I went back to the shopping center for something else and stopped by to see if anyone could fix it. Poli took care of it even though she was very busy ( it was a Saturday) no charge. Great customer service and Do (the gentleman usually up front) always plays my favorite songs when he's there
