CRU-MM is one of those places. I remember that I was looking for an aesthetician at the time, and I was very impressed with CRU'MM's marketing materials and results. So I made an appointment for a facial and had a good experience overall. I remember Regina being very kind, her salon being very calming (with free snacks), and the facial itself being very good (notwithstanding a nasty acne bump I had on my face at the time). I have no complaints about the facial itself. The only reason I give the experience 4 (instead of 5) stars is because I remember a few things that were less than ideal. First, there is not clear communication about the exact location of the salon within the building, so that leads to unnecessary confusion after you arrive. Also, if I recall correctly, Regina was running a bit behind on the day I went, so I recall having to sit in a small waiting area while waiting for my appointment to finally start. There was one other couple there, and they were watching some kind of raunchy video on speaker. So it was not a relaxing or edifying experience before the facial began. Thankfully, the energy was very different inside Regina's salon once my appointment actually got started. In sum, I only visited once. But I had a good experience overall. Although it was not convenient enough of a location for me to continue going (such that I eventually found an amazing black aesthetician in Bethesda that I've been using for all these many years), I would still recommend that anyone in the Lanham area check CRU-MM out!

After hearing me complain about some aches and pains, she suggested I check to see if there were any available appointments. Thankfully, I was able to book an appointment at the same time as hers, and I'm so glad I did! I booked my massage with Josh, and he was AMAZING! This was my first time ever booking a massage with a male massage therapist, and although I had some initial reservations, I was open to trying something different. Josh quickly put me at ease with his professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness. He took the time to ask about my problem areas, check in about my preferred level of pressure, and make sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. What I appreciated most was that he went beyond simply providing a massage. He offered helpful suggestions for stretches and even recommended specific areas I should have my massage therapist focus on when I returned home. The entire experience was wonderful, and I left feeling GREAT! My time and money were absolutely well spent. Josh provided excellent service, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll definitely be booking another appointment the next time I'm in town! Highly recommend!

The hot towels were completely skipped, and when I asked because I was still covered in oil, the therapist laughed and said they weren't ready. I reported the issue immediately and was told management would contact me. I followed up again and emailed management directly on September 8. It is now September 11, and I've received no response. I also requested the cancellation policy for my membership and still haven't received it. Mistakes happen. This could have been easily fixed with good customer service. The massage started the problem. Being ignored is what lost me as a customer.

Apparently at Red Door (At Pentagon City), there isn't any dressing space for men. They just get dressed in the bathroom. To the contrary, the MGM Spa has space for everything. As a matter of fact, I think the men have more space than us. The amenities are fantastic. Clean, spacious showers. A steam room. A dry sauna. A jacuzzi (it's broken right now but it'll be back). Robes. Slipper. Toiletries. Just....everything. The attendants are very attentive (redundant, i know. i'm sorry). The massages are great. I had James the last time I was there and he was great. Highly recommend! The pedicures are also great. I also love that it's not hard to get a reservation.

Tip: when using Google maps search JoyLife Spa, rather than using the actual address. For some strange reason, manually typing out the address tells you that you have arrived when really have about six more minutes to go. Fortunately, the owner was very patient and helpful in assisting with my arrival. After I checked in for my service, they walked me to their quiet room, which was cute and serene. Then my specialist, Rachel, came out and guided me to my room, which had a mini welcome message for me with some water, which I thought was very thoughtful. The service I opted for was the Indulge Hydration treatment for 60 minutes, which was $145. Being that this was my first time for this service, Rachel walked me through the process, which I greatly appreciated. The service started on a heated bed, with your body getting fully exfoliated, which is extremely relaxing. After the exfoliation, they put this organic (if I'm not mistaken) product all over your body to help restore your body with moisture and then wrap your body up, like a cozy, warm burrito. (This was such a great feeling). Then she moisturized my feet and gave me a mini shoulder rub. I must say that was so relaxed, that I was going in and out of sleep, then before I knew it, the hour was up. Overall, I had an excellent experience. I feel like everyone should give them a try if they have interest in a cute spa day that exceeds expectations. Also, fun fact, this is a black owned Spa!

The place is very clean and doesn't have that chemical smells like most nail salons. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because I particularly think their gel polish isn't the best. Well 4 days after my first experience I am typing a one-star review with a chipped nail and a sore foot from the 1 inch open wound I received at Cre8tions during a pedicure. The nail tech guaranteed my acrylic fill in would last 3 weeks . It didn't last four days. I sent a picture of the chipped nail to the owner but I was ignored . During my pedicure , the skin on top of my foot was scraped to the white meat with a pumice stone . It bled heavily . I was charged full price for the pedicure and told sorry. When I questioned about why she did not show, she blamed me for going to the wrong salon even though I had the text messages showing what had been agreed to. I kept going because she was keeping my eyebrows on the fleek status. Now, the last time I went to her, a couple of months ago, this is what happened (see pictures). I think she had just gotten back from a trip or something so we didn't even go to the basement she just pulled up a chair and did my eyebrows in the hallway. It hurt but you eyebrow threading ain't no walk in the park so I didn't think anything of it. You know how you have those tears in your eyes because of the pain and when she hands you the mirror you kind of squint and say thanks, well that's what happened. It wasn't til I got home that I saw this. She literally tore my skin off. It scabbed and such and I still have a little scar, mine you this was a couple of months ago. Low key, my eyebrows were still fleekish though. Needless to say I have never gone back and I was pretty loyal to her. Sometimes she's good other times not so much. No consistency and I can't play that game when it comes to my face. Smh. Not only that but I'm sure she saw it and I'm into integrity. I contact her and she has immediate availability. Hooray! I arrive at her home and it is lovely. We go down to her salon set up and it is large and clean. Double Hooray! So far, so good! I sit in her chair and she goes to work on my eyebrows. Five minutes later she hands me the mirror and I could not believe she had done anything to my eyebrows. There was no shape, they were still untamed, and they looked almost as bad as they did when I walked in. I smile, thank her for her services, and pay. I figured there was no point in showing dissatisfaction because I would not be comfortable allowing her to do anything further to my eyebrows. I then had to drive to the mall to find someone who could fix my eyebrows because I was not having my shapeless brows. The lady who I found in the mall to do my eyebrows did not believe me when I told her that I just got them done! Tia is a nice woman, and based on the reviews I am sure she does offer good services. She just does not give that arched brow look that I like to go for. It is not necessarily a bad thing, just my personal preference.
