A man a older lady and little girl came to open the shop about 10 mins after. Not sure who greeted me but she was very pleasant and immediately took me to the washing bowl to wash me. She was a little rough while washing but it was fine, I like to feel like my scalp is being throughly scrubbed from the dirt. I'm currently under the dryer now for a deep condition. The salon has nice decor, not too big and not too small. Looks to be very clean and neat..the man who opened the shop has been sweeping since I've been here. I will do a update when I'm heading out! (Here to get a deep condition, trim and blow out btw) ***Update**** Still didn't get the lady's name who doing my hair but she's the daughter of the older lady. To make a long story short, I love my hair! The hair dryer was sort of burning my scalp but everyone knows they use high heat. She kept making sure I was ok through the process and very friendly. She blew it straight, then flat ironed it, and trimmed then flat ironed it again to put some body to it (alot of heat!) I'll be back again, probably like once a month becuase of the excessive heat they use.

With my friends wedding coming up quick and my regular hairstylist working the wedding party, I was…read morein a bind to find a qualified professional to do an updo fitting for my formal gown. I browsed yelp for an hour, read reviews, checked pictures and narrowed down on my top 3 salons closest to her venue. Studio Nails & Hair in Oceanside was my first call, and only call! Requesting to speak to Dee, (not realizing she was the owner), I immediately informed her of a picture I saw on yelp of an updo done by her. Complimented her on her quality and proceeded to discuss my predicament. She quickly confirmed the fast approaching date and time needed (2-3 days after call), without hesitation. Once the big day arrived, I was running about 2 hours behind schedule. I called and notified Dee of my unexpected updated ETA and asked if she could still accommodate me for a later appointment. She again said without hesitation, not a problem, I will see you then. Once in route from Lake Arrowhead (my secondary residence), I missed my exit and ended up having to driving an extra 30 mins around to catch the next freeway. I quickly called to inform and beg her to still be seen as it was crunch time. Dee fully understood and assured me that I'd be seen, but may have to wait as she started on her next scheduled client. I said not a problem and I couldn't thank her enough for still fitting me in. Once Dee finished with my hair, (which was STUNNING BY THE WAY! Please see pictures below), she assisted with getting me into my gown. Fully ready and about to head on my way, I had a fashion emergency, I split my zipper in my T-back gown. Dee, her assistant and her CLIENT, saw the fear and panic in my face and eagerly tried to help me! We tried for 20 mins but the zipper wouldn't budge. With a gaping hole in my back from mid to lower, I was panicked! But my hair looked perfect!!!! I quickly remembered I had a plethora of safety pins in my purse (don't recall why, lol), Dee said let's give it a try! The 3 women pinned me up without question and got me on my way. I also had a shall I used as a wrap to hide the back. If it wasn't for Dee, her assistant and her client, I wouldn't have made it to my friends wedding! If it wasn't for Dee working so hard to accommodate my extremely busy and hectic schedule and specific needs I wouldn't have had picture perfect hair for her wedding! I received compliments all night long. I will be a returning customer if and when I am in the SD area. Forever grateful, Jerica M

I did not have a positive experience at Salon 809. My appointment did not begin at the scheduled…read moretime, and I waited approximately 45 minutes before my service started. When the stylist finally began, her attitude and overall demeanor were noticeably negative, which made the experience uncomfortable. Additionally, the stylist started blow-drying my hair without applying a heat protectant. I had to request that it be used, which should be standard practice. Clients should not have to ask for basic hair care measures. I also found the pricing to be excessive for the level of service provided. Certain treatments, such as deep conditioning, are not included in some services and come at an additional cost. During my appointment, the stylist was whispering and gossiping with another stylist, which felt unprofessional. Overall, the salon appears to charge for many add-ons while not delivering a level of service that justifies the cost. Due to the poor customer service and lack of value, I would not recommend this salon.

How does X sound to you?) I came in at 9:00 am (the only slot they had- they seem to book up fast), and my photoshoot was at 4:00 so I was a little nervous- but my hair held up wonderfully and I'm obsessed with the photos. As for other logistics- they validate parking so that helps a lot. The instructions to find the place are pretty clear, I just had to double check my email when I arrived.
