We started with "fall off the bone" ribs and the Hallumi - (squeaky cheese - wish I could find this here in SoCal... if anyone reading this knows a place... please let me know!) Once seated though, the service was a bit random, with people jumping in and out as one got delayed on another table and so on, and we waited quite a bit to place our food order after getting our drinks. But after that, the waitress was friendly and provided good service. To be fair the food was spot on, and cooked well. We had three different steaks and they were all cooked as we had requested. The deserts were okay. The coffees weren't all that. So £50 per person, it's okay. (Only 2 alcoholic drinks in £200). We will go back I'm sure, but equally there are other steak houses in the area with better service and ambience for the same price.

Most main courses (steak for under 10 pounds) come with the salad buffet which also includes breads and soups. Unless I am at a really upscale restaurant where I expect to receive superior food, I really enjoy the opportunity to put together my own plate of salad and bread.

One small word of warning, if you go with the steak platter (which lets you sample 4 different cuts of steak! From memory... ribeye, rump, fillet and sirloin), I would suggest either starving for a week or finding a friendly soul to share with! Oh, and if you go at the weekend, definitely make sure you book a table in advance - they get really busy!
