An intimate steak house with a well curated menu. I made reservations for this restaurant in case there would be a wait. We arrived 18-minutes late and our reservation was still on the list. The menu is limited with each item made to perfection. We ordered the Wagyu Sirloin which was £27. The steak was tender, juicy, and even more delicious paired with the Wild Mushroom sauce. My family also shared the Truffle Mac and Cheese and the Crispy Bone Marrow Mash. Everything was delicious and affordable. At the end of our meal, we were given tiny cleaver knives to exchange for a vanilla ice cream cone or cup. I would recommend this place to all of my family and friends. read more

Flat Iron in Soho was such a great experience. The menu is very limited, with one main steak option and two special cuts that aren't listed on the menu, but honestly that made choosing even easier. The steak was really good and cooked exactly the way I asked. We ordered three sides for the two of us, but one each would have been more than enough. My favorite was the truffle mac and cheese. It was so flavorfullll. I love truffle and this did not disappoint. I'm not even a huge mac and cheese fan and I was obsessed. I also tried the beef dripping chips after our server explained they're fried in beef fat to give them more flavor. They were okay, just a bit too greasy for me. The garlic mash was very good and a great comfort side. We got lucky and were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty small inside but very cute and vibey. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly which made the experience even better. And the cutest touch... they give you free soft serve ice cream on the way out. A tempting proposition of £14 steak along with inexpensive side dishes, when most steak houses are a fortune. The quality of their signature flat iron steak is solid; reminds me of what you'd get in a steak salad. But the steak portion feels a bit skimpy and the sides a bit small. There were two hungry full grown American men at this meal and we ended up splitting 3 steaks and 3 sides to fill up, so that can increase the price. Flat Iron Steak: A respectable steak. Nicely cooked. Good amount of flavor. Nice texture. Scottish Bavette: Perhaps my favorite steak that I tried, even more than wagyu. It had this slightly fatty, slightly chewy texture. A very meaty steak that was perfect with sauces. Wagyu Sirloin: Not sure it was worth £11 more than the flat iron (for a total of £25). It was slightly bigger, though not huge. And the flavor was decent. But perhaps sirloin is better as a Sunday Roast than a not-that-inexpensive steak. Peppercorn Sauce: Inspired by au poivre probably, but not as creamy nor strong tones of cognac. Béarnaise Sauce: Pretty on the mark. Obviously a fancy steakhouse would do this better, but it was fine here. Crispy Bone Marrow Garlic Mash: Really enjoyed all the crispy bits on top. No idea what magic they're using to deep fry bone marrow, but I'm a fan. The mash itself was smooth and creamy. Truffled Macaroni Cheese: Perhaps my favorite side. Al dente noodles with lots of creamy cheese. Nice crunchy bits on top too. Only problem is that with the big noodles and small dish, this goes kinda quickly. Creamed Spinach: Decent taste, but mushy texture. Looks like they just blended the spinach and the cream, so it's kinda like a warm smoothie. I prefer when creamed spinach has a bit more spinach texture. Ice Cream: A nice freebie on your way out. Creamy ice cream with a nice house made crunchy cone. read more

I love the salad, we had the special steaks of the day, £27, mine was medium and it was just right. My spouse and my son had medium rare, they cooked perfectly! We had all try all the sides dishes. The orders are small, we ended up reordering them again. Service is okay, at the beginning the hostess was nice calling me by name, and we had the young boy as the waiter and it was so hard to find him, when I reordered my drinks again, just waiting on him to bring it from the bar to me. This place has been recommend by a Facebook group in London. Also my a YouTuber. The one close to our hotel was always busy. We did have to make a reservation. We did and finally got to try it out. Very small almost hole in the wall place we almost walked by it. Definitely need reservations here as there is very limited seating. The steak was to die for cooked perfectly. The sides of Mac n cheese and potatoes were also very delicious. My old fashioned was served in a flask which was very unique. Would definitely come back if in the area. Great service and great food. We ordered their special, the 450g Waygu for £50, along with 2 orders of the bone marrow mashed potatoes and an order of the truffle Mac and cheese. Amazing value for the amount of food we got, especially in one of the most expensive cities in the world. The sides were absolutely amazing, especially the truffle Mac and cheese which had an extremely rich flavor to it. The waygu was tremendous as well, cooked perfectly medium rare (the temperature I had asked for). I would like to note that getting a reservation is highly recommended, as we tried to walk in and had a 2 hour wait. Another nice extra is that they give you free popcorn to start with and free ice cream on your way out. Steakhouses tend to try and rinse their customers for every little extra serving, this is absolutely not the case at Flat Iron. During my stay here in London I visited the flat iron location in the city of London (financial district) and the one in soho. Both were extraordinary with super personable staff. read more

And this was after I had asked someone if we could give our order and then the couple seated next to us who arrived after us were served first. Whoa, so I was blown away! I was originally told 45 min and didn't want to wait. Turns out they can/will give you 10% off at the pub two doors down, which made the wait enjoyable! Now, as for the food... The beef drizzled chips were some of the best chips I've ever had. As for the steak, well I ended up ordering two portions. Decided to try this place out because my boyfriend and I wanted some steak. We saw that this was a chain in London and it was a cheap £11 steak. We went for dinner at around 6PM and fortunately for us, there was no wait. We were sat down right away. It was a bit dark inside and there was a candle on every table which made it pretty intimate. We loved the ambiance of place. As we were waiting for our order to come out, one of the waiters knocked over the whole table next to us. It didn't hit us at all and we really didn't mind, but they were very apologetic. We both ordered a medium rare steak, some fries, and spinach cream. The steak came with a side salad and a cute little butcher knife to cut it. They do charge £1 per sauce that you get. We did try all the sauces and I really enjoyed the horseradish cream and peppercorn. We also ordered some cocktails. I got the Golborne G&T and my boyfriend got the Blood Orange Old Fashioned. In the end, we asked for our bill and let us know drinks were on them because of the table knocking over incident. It was very nice of them to do that since it really didn't bother us at all! We loved this place so much that we ended up coming back here two days later with my boyfriend's grandparents and got the same exceptional service. Great steak! I could tell the steak was very high quality, even though it didn't come from an expensive breed of beef. That was probably why the price was very reasonable. I liked how they present the beef on a chopping board, with mini chopping knife. That was their selling point. The sides were okay and unmemorable. Dessert was average. So we came to this place as the Soho location was an hour and 15 minute wait. We overheard a couple of local girls conversing and said they were going to a nearby Flat Iron to see if the wait was better, so we immediately asked if we could tag along, as we don't know our way around being from California. A brisk 20 minute walk led us to this place and we were placed in a 30 minute wait list. The lady taking walk ins were so bubbly and has a charming personality. So 30 minutes went by quickly and we were seated promptly. We ordered Scottish Bavette, my friend had their signature Flat Iron, side dishes of salad, creamed spinach and bone marrow garlic mashed potatoes and it was heavenly, all were good, delicious and straight to the point. For dessert we were given a small cleaver token to redeem for ice cream on a cone on your way out. Everyone was friendly and service was prompt. Really enjoyed my dinner here. Went to flat iron the other night and had an unbelievable time. The food was amazing but I really loved being welcomed in by a very lovely lady who gave us Popcorn and seated us at the table. I really like that the menu was rather simple and small so there wasn't a lot to choose from which I really enjoyed because I find sometimes restaurants have way too much to choose from. The steak I ordered was exceptional as well as all the sides. On the way out you get a small metal meat cleaver that you can either keep as a souvenir or exchange for an ice cream cone on your way out. I had to try the ice cream, But next time I'm going to keep the cleaver. Really recommend this restaurant and looking forward to returning soon read more

My friend and I were a bit disappointed with the steaks here after waiting for an hour on a Friday night. I was starving by the time I sat down so thank goodness for the complimentary popcorn! They also refill this throughout the night. My friend and I each got a steak medium rare but mine came out well done. The menu is small, basically everyone gets the flat iron steak for 11 euro. Don't get me wrong, this is super cheap for a nice portioned piece of meat that they cook very well by your request. Though the meat itself is just very tough. I couldn't swallow most of it. By no means is this going to be the best piece of steak you have but its decent for the price I suppose.
