I had read about this place so we happened to be walking by and stopped to eat. The steak was good. We set outside on a weekend. This place is crazy busy. It was fast paced. Staff are not British and pretty arrogant. They were dripping with testosterone... but it's London. And the food was good. Steak was tender and cooked well. And we even got ice cream after.
Flat Iron was a great find in Covent Garden. We found ourselves starving at 8pm with no reservation and no plan for dinner. Not only were they able to seat us within 20 minutes without a reservation, the staff was friendly and brought us some tallow popped popcorn to munch on while we decided on what else to order. We both had the flat iron steak, a side of truffle macaroni and cheese, the crispy bone marrow mashed potatoes and a side of chips (French fries for the Americans reading this). Everything was outstanding. The bearnaise sauce and spicy mayo were excellent on the steak which was cooked perfectly. They give you these rad little butcher knives to cut the steaks which you can purchase if you feel so inclined. At the end of your meal, they provide you with tiny little butcher knife tokens which you take to the front of the store in exchange for a free ice cream cone! The store itself was chic and comfortable, very spacious and clean. They also have outdoor seating, but beware, smoking is allowed on the patio!
I can't stop thinking about this place. We ate here 2 nights ago and are planning to go back tomorrow! From the start, the service was warm and the fresh popcorn that greeted us at our table was fun and delicious! I ordered the picanha steak and my husband chose the ribeye, both being excellent and deliciously paired with the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The steak fries were an incredible addition as well. If that wasn't enough, at the end of the meal we were given two adorable miniature flat iron knives that served as our "tokens" to exchange for a decadent scoop of salted Carmel gelato on a waffle cone as we headed out the door. Our experience was 10/10 and we can't wait to return!!
We enjoyed a late night supper after seeing a show and the team was so friendly when we arrived, ten minutes before closing. We ordered their signature Flat Iron steaks, with peppercorn sauce, creamed spinach and chips. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the peppercorn sauce was a nice addition, but not needed for the steaks. The creamed spinach was delightful and the wine pairings, a perfect Malbec and Italian Rosso, were a lovely compliment to our meal. We had such a lovely meal and plan to return soon!
The food was unbelievable, we all got steaks, mashed potatoes, chips, mac and cheese, beef dripping popcorn, and drinks. The steaks were perfectly cook and I added the peppercorn sauce which made it amazing. The service wasn't great but we took a table outside to avoid the wait. Ambience was great even outdoors but it gets cold once the sun goes down- not the restaurants fault but for people visiting in April try to go a little earlier before it cools off. The kids loved every part of this meal and there's a 200% chance that we'll return before we leave. Plate speaks for itself.
I love it when a restaurant does one thing and does it well. In this case you get delicious flatiron steak, salted well, and cooked exactly how you like it. I might have liked a little bit more crust on my steak, but the salt, medium rare, and mushroom sauce on the side were on point so it tasted great. The beef dripping chips and creamed corn was also excellent, and are large enough for sharing. I also loved the complementary ice cream at the end! Not a good place if your partner or kids do not eat steak.

Stumbled in randomly looking to avoid the rain and ended the meal so pleasantly surprised! Our server was so fantastic and the meal was absolutely perfect- cannot say enough good things about the triple cheese truffle burger! Perfect flavor combination of rich, sweet, and savory. We also had the kale cesar salad, side chips, and a couple cocktails. Free ice cream on your way out if you dine in. Everything was perfect!!
Fiancé and I ate here on a whim last Christmas and it was the most flavorful and juicy iron steak I have ever had! Super cute place, restaurant we sat at is upstairs. Service is fast and prices were super reasonable. We came back here this new year while we were in SoHo and it did not disappoint again. They gave us a little hatchet charm that you can redeem for free ice cream on the first level. 10/10 will be eating here once every trip!
In the 5 years since I've been here, man they have really decreased in quality. I popped in for lunch and ran into some changes. No more greens with the steak. Ordered chips and they were actually stale and unpleasant. Husband and I ordered 2 flat irons and the difference between the 2 steaks was noticeable. His was tough and he did not finish it. The truffle mac was the only thing that was really outstanding. Sad to see it going this way.
Food is actually so good. I got the chili cheeseburger and despite the fact that I don't really like spice, It was amazing. Service was so good. The server made my whole family feel amazing and she was so kind. The ambiance is very chill so this place is perfect all around.
I had an amazing experience at Flat Iron, I thought everything was great. The steak was delicious and it was a very good price for covent garden. And the most pleasant surprise was that we got a scoop of salted caramel ice cream at the end of our meal for free! See pics of our food below!
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place on previous visits. I always tell people this is my favorite restaurant and we do every time we are in London. It sounds so snooty, but... This particular location is in Covent Garden, which is a hoping place even on a weeknight in the summer. Some may question this place because it is a chain restaurant with lots of locations in London, but I love it. First, it is just a steak place. There may be another option, but not much. The only question is which steak, and what sides? Although they have more expensive options usually, I go with the standard Flat Iron steak. It comes sliced on a board with a small cleaver in case you want to cut it more. The steak is about perfect for me. Tender, flavorful, just yum. The sides are also incredible. I love the mashed potatoes, but this last visit I fell in love with the Vesuvian tomatoes. Grown on the side of Mt. Vesuvius, these tomatoes are only ripe for a short time and are the best tomatoes I have ever had. If you catch these in season--get them. If that wasn't enough, everyone gets a complimentary salted caramel ice cream cone on the way out. I've eaten here four times now. Loved it every time. I wish we had these in the USA, but it probably would be different and not as good. If you like steak, and you are in London, definitely go to Flat Iron.

Flat Iron is quirky with delicious steaks. I saw great reviews on Yelp and made reservations for dinner last night. If you don't have reservations, you can expect a wait. The cafe is super cute in Covent Garden. We were seated quickly at a small table and given a complementary cup of fresh popcorn. Jessi Juan, our server, was attentive and friendly. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer. The menu is fairly simple, steaks and sides. Other steak and wine specials are listed on a board. Steaks start at £15 and sides are £4-5. Food comes out super quick. My husband and I had Flat Iron steaks and shared sides of Roasted Aubergine, Tomatoes and Mozzarella and Bone Marrow Mash. I also ordered the Bearnaise sauce to compliment my steak. Everything tasted excellent. My husband LOVED the Bone Marrow Mash potatoes with fried onion bits. I loved the aubergine. You receive a token for a complementary ice cream cone, which you pick up when you leave. The ice cream is topped with chocolate powder. The free cone is delicious and a nice touch. I'd return, heck, I'd even stand in line. read more
I must say that this is truly a unique experience for me when it comes to steaks. We were around the night before and saw the crazy line outside. So, we knew better this time and made a reservation. Highly recommend making one before coming here. The ambiance is a Very cool, trendy vibe. Once seated, they put seasoned popcorn on the table while you wait. Here's what we ordered: - Truffles Mac and Cheese - Crispy Bone Marrow Garlic Mash - Wagyu cuts of the day: Fore Fillet and sirloin - Salted caramel ice cream with original beans Virunga chocolate shavings Everything was exceptional from making the reservation, the wait to be seated, the service, to the free ice cream. Really enjoyed this restaurant. It was pretty busy but we were seated quickly. It took a little bit of time for our server to come but once he did, service was timely. The drinks are well priced and were tasty. The menu is pretty straightforward. The steak was cooked perfectly. The sides, especially the mash and the mac and cheese were delicious. Overall a really good meal. They give a little charm that you can trade in for free ice cream on the way out. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

First of all, I highly recommend to reserve the table in advance. I am not sure about their walk in system, but I booked my table at Covent Garden location a couple of months in advance. When I tried to change reservation time a couple days before my reservation date, there was no availability until 2 weeks later. They sent out message to confirm the reservation the day of which was pretty nice. The restaurant was lovely, well decorated and great vibe. I loved that they brought out water and complimentary popcorn to snack on after we got seated. My server swung by a few minutes later to explain about their menu and took our order for drinks. I really loved the Passion fruit Collins. Food was amazing - all of our steak orders were flavorful and juicy. The complimentary salted caramel icecream on your way out was the bomb. Overall, service was friendly and price was reasonable. I"ll return when I am in London next time. read more

Fun, interesting steakhouse atmosphere in Covent Garden. FlatIron steak was delicious cooked just how we like it. Sophie's salad, roast aubergine we're good as well. Server was efficient and friendly. I love how they present the scotch in the silver flask and the butcher's charm that is redeemable for an ice cream. Definitely recommend. read more

Chain steakhouse in London that's hard to beat in terms of price and value. Our server was extremely nice and wonderful and attentive, making sure that we got the best picks on the menu. Last year I had the flat iron steak, this time I had the flat iron sirloin. I asked for medium rare, and this is one of the (rare) times that a steakhouse got it right and didn't give me an overcooked steak, so I was really glad. I also got their creamed spinach, roasted aubgerine, and spicy mayo sauce. The sides were great as usual, but I don't think I would get the mayo with the steak again. Finally, they give you a compliementary salted caramel ice cream with chocolate shavings at the end! read more

One of my favorite places we went to dinner in london. Their fries have to be my favorite of all time and their steak was amazingly priced with plenty of sauces to go with it. The free ice cream to end the night was the perfect cherry on top. Super nice service as well with free popcorn when you sit down. read more

So buss!!! This is my first time here with my boyfriend and I will be going here again tomorrow with my boyfriend's mom. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the mac was so worth it. Shoutout to our waiter, he was very knowledgeable about the cuts. The creamed spinach was nothing to write home about. The restaurant was very cute and clean inside. 1000000/10. Please come here!!!
