Hair in food - they blamed me
Laura F.

Don't do it! Should have checked the reviews on Yelp first - lesson learned! We were so looking forward to a steak dinner. Unfortunately this isn't the best place for steak or service. It is crowded and loud. My grandson ordered the sirloin, I ordered a filet and my husband ordered a ribeye. They were cooked as requested but didn't have much flavor. We also ordered béarnaise sauce, again not much flavor. The Caesar salad was under dressed. We ordered the cheese garlic bread as an appetizer. It came with the meal instead of beforehand. It also came with a hair, so gross. When I pointed it out to our waitress, Zenya (?), she took the plate back to the kitchen and then returned with it and said it was my hair and she couldn't do anything about it. She was condescending and rude. Such a disappointing dinner. I won't ever return.

Run. At least for what I ordered. I ordered a stake and the thing arrived fast and cold with no flavor at all. Horrible appearance. Whatever leaves they put for decoration was more dead than the cow I had in front of me. The service was okay but do yourself a favor and go crossed the street to Five Guys instead. Oh at the end, a freaking alarm was going off. No way will recommend this place.

This restaurant is more like comfort food in my opinion. They were okay and pretty basic. Got the sampler, the steak and the soup. I did not expect much seeing by the cooking of the steak. Overall, this is a comfort food that would maintain its quality. Recommended to try but i do not think I will go back again to try its other food.

Uncomfortable is the only word to describe this restaurant. Located in a very touristy area in London, I can understand the staffs frustration and lack of patience. But don't take it out on the nice customers please!! Our waitress was super rude and would become bitter at the simplest requests e.g. asking to split the bill, a refill on a drink, etc. So uncomfortable to be dining there. When we placed our orders after sitting there being ignored for a solid 10 minutes in an almost empty restaurant, o asked for a dirty martini to which she replied "no. We don't do that here." What kind of a bar restaurant in a huge city doesn't or won't make a simple martini?! So bizarre. If you're in the area just keep walking and go to one of the other thousand restaurants nearby.

The only thing what makes a kind of good impression is the food! My beef fillet 8oz was good! The salad served with it: not fresh at all! Fries were good! Prices are alright! The service sucks completely! That's why just 3 stars.

The Angus Steak House is in a premium tourist location, Leicester Square. They employ a lot of nice ladies, including the one in front of the outside dining area who's being paid to lure you in. You wouldn't really expect this to be a place for budget dining, and you'd be right: The steaks are of great quality, if not only cooked to order (my 300g sirloin steak, ordered rare, came almost well-done - I sent it back. The second time they got it right). But they sure aren't cheap, since they come without chips or salad or sauce! I ordered the sweet potato chips on the side, and those were fine. However, my starter, garlic mushrooms, was a big disappointment: The mushrooms clearly came from the can, and there was no garlicky taste at all. They were also cold when they finally reached my table. Hint: Don't eat here if you're in a hurry. They had Stella from tap, a fiver for a pint. There is a budget menu option at lunchtime, but when I arrived I was told everything but chicken was already out. I told the waitress I wasn't visiting a steak house to eat chicken anyway, upon which she smiled. That should have been my first warning. Service is friendly, if not particularly efficient. I counted four waiters and waitresses that serviced me during the meal. Not counting the "lady bait" at the entrance. Again, it's a premium tourist spot. I wouldn't call it a rip - off, but £40 for a starter, the steak, the fries, and two pints is something I'm not going to seek out again any time soon.

I ordered a T-bone steak, one of the best I had. Our waiter was friendly, service was a bit slow but it was busy.

Desperate to let our hair down we were itching to catch the tube to the West End, starving and in need of a pint we headed straight for Leicester Square still in Uniform.

I like a crispy crackle on top of my pork belly. The red cabbage was okay but came in a separate dish and I wasn't too sure what I was meant to do with it. The dish was accompanied by a meat gravy which when I tried it overpowered the delicate flavors of the pork. Being quite hungry I also ordered potato gratin but the potatoes were a little hard and undercooked. There also wasn't very much sauce and in some instances was just potato on potato with no sauce in between. If I came here again I'd probably have the steak since it is called steak & co so that's their specialty. Service was as expected, my water cup was kept filled and received the bill when requested. Overall just okay really. Ambiance was typical for a chain restaurant. Not too loud and nothing to complain about.

Not the greatest quality, but it was a steak. The wait time was awful. The server didn't really seem to care and didn't give quality service. The Burger sucked! It was a soggy and sloppy mess! When we asked the waitress about it, she acted like we were asking for gold and seemed like we were bothering her. The side salad and the onion rings were all delicious though! The steak was good quality too. We were charged for everything, even water! I know that's a European thing, but it still sucks to be charged for water!

Three courses for £35, I started with the chicken liver pâté, rich and silky enough to make you close your eyes and savor it. The slow-roast West Country beef. Medium, of course why would you do it any other way. And the mince pie, boozy. Very boozy. Consider yourself warned. We were seated right in front of the fire pit, which added a rustic, cozy touch to the whole experience. Sure, it got a little toasty toward the end, but with the freezing cold outside, I wasn't about to complain. It felt like a true British winter dining experience, and I'd do it all over again.

4.5 Stars Incredible…read morequality food and top notch service in a chic SOHO atmosphere. This place was really, really good. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. Our food and drinks arrived promptly. We got the 40oz Tomahawk Steak and split it between 3 adults. Ordered the steak medium rare, and it came out a bit closer to rare but that's OK. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. Steak came with 2 potato sides so we had roasted potatoes and fries. I've been traveling in Europe for 2 weeks and these were easily the best fries I've had the entire trip. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and well seasoned. They do not offer real/straight horse radish. Only a creamy horse sauce. We had a delicious Bordeux red with the steak and it was a perfect pair. They do have a kids menu, which had some decent options... Squid and chips, burger, Mac and cheese, steak frites. The grilled Tuna Steak almost overshadowed the Tomahawk. We ordered it pink inside, and they delivered. It was perfectly seasoned and served with a garnish of grilled avocado with a tomato salsa. An incredible piece of fish! The building used to be a porn cinema so some of the artwork reflects that time. I'd describe it as tasteful decor, despite the subject matter. I felt like my Negroni cocktail was watered down. Don't miss Sofie's. So good!

They had room for party of 4 and it was Monday night, so "butcher" pricing, which means you pay what they pay by the weight for your meat. There was a chalk board that listed all the cuts by weight and as they sold, they crossed them off. There were still plenty available in a variety of cuts when we arrived around 8pm. I love that the entire restaurant is underground. We ended up getting an 800kg ribeye and it was the perfect amount of meat for us. We did supplement with lots of sides including the bone marrow, mushrooms on toast, beef dripping chips, and sweet potato. My favorite was the sweet potato, which was ash roasted for 10 hours and you could taste it. They all went will with the steak that came out in about 20 minutes, pre-sliced with a nice presentation. We also got a few of the cheese and pickle, which was a hit with my wife. Our server was great and we enjoyed our time and meal very much!
