BEST, MOST METICULOUS CLEANING I've ever received at Millennium Dental by ZAFAR. Make sure to ask for him because the other hygienist (female, short in stature had the worst attitude. Zafar was not only meticulous in his cleaning, but he was also gentle, and attentive. For example, it's indicative to get droplets of water around your mouth as the cleaning is happening - well, he attentively dabbed the water dry. He made sure to floss between EACH tooth. I needed to get an implant put in to replace it, but was worried about the pain and the cost, so I put it off for a long time. I found Millennium Dental through a Groupon I bought for a cleaning, and I liked the doctor so much, I decided to have him do the implant. Dr. Alnoman is a kind, caring dentist, who made sure I was as comfortable as possible while he put the implant in. I feel like I've given Millennium Dental Group more than a few opportunities to prove me wrong on this, but there just have to be better dental providers out there. Our first appointment, taking X-rays was a torturous experience very reminiscent of A Clockwork Orange. While probing my face with the x-ray machinery, the nurse turned on a creepy foreign children's show. I had to ask for her to turn it off, but other than the nightmares to follow afterwards, it wasn't that bad. Our second appointment, I had to reschedule THREE times, as each time I tried to go in, I would get a call a few hours before my appointment notifying that no dentists was available. When I expressed my frustration at the lack of organization, they offered me and my husband free teeth whitening treatments. That procedure was also torturous, but I guess we volunteered for that one. I feel like every time I reach out to make an appointment, I get a snippy, unhelpful response. I'm also not confident my appointments will actually be remembered by the staff. Their waiting room is nice, but that's about the only nice thing I can say about Millennium. Hoping we can find a better dentist in the area, but based on my other Chicago healthcare knowledge, I'm concerned this is the norm. read more

I went in for a regular teeth cleaning and was told over the phone that it would be free. The dental tech who cleaned them was very rough and cut the inside of my lip with one of the cleaning tools. She also answered a call while cleaning them which I thought was very unprofessional. After she was done she charged me full price ($75) for the cleaning because my membership had expired and it would only be "free" if I renewed ($165) it. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this dental office. Front desk receptionist was kind and friendly that was the only positive aspect of my experience. My cleaning was not thoroughly done it took about 15 mins total. The process was rushed and half a**ed from being showered with my own saliva the entire time to the end where I was told I could rinse my mouth in the filthy sink they apparently don't clean often. After my cleaning the "Dr" (no one introduced themselves) came in from another room with no gloves ( I wish I would have called him out) on quickly checked my teeth and told me to keep up the good work. I was greeted by a delightful lady who said I could be seen after a brief wait. After my xrays the Dr. came in and she did the exam and cleaning. 1. Customer service was subpar. When I arrived, I stood there, unacknowledged, for quite some time as the person behind the desk was speaking to another patient. Ok. A brief "I'll be with you in a moment" or a gesture to indicate that would have been nice. The hygienist came to the desk and stared at me. She finally asked if I was Jill. She offered no greeting or explanation and started rooting around behind the desk. Finally, she gave me some papers and told me to fill them out and bring them back. 2. After arriving a few minutes early to complete the paperwork, I had to wait until 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time (3pm) to actually begin the appointment. At 3:20 I asked the woman at the desk how much longer I had to wait. She said they'd be out soon. When I pointed out to her what time it was, she said she hadn't noticed it had been so long. After going to the back, she returned and told me she would take me back now. She gave me the remote to watch tv while I waited. As a side note, you should tell your patients that only get about 3 channels but perhaps trying out a bunch of channels that were not accessible was a distraction from the ongoing wait. At about 3:40, 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the hygienist finally arrived to get started. I asked her how long it would take because I had another commitment to get to afterwards and needed get there by 4:30. She left (to consult with the dentist?) and told me the earliest I would get out of there would be 4:15. Was that fine? No, I told her it wasn't "fine" but I would stay because I didn't want to lose more time with rescheduling and coming back. 3. While the cleaning turned out ok - my teeth were clean. The process itself was a bit unnerving. The dentist did the cleaning. Is this typical? I got the distinct impression she wasn't very practiced at it. A few highlights. Only after I complained that water was dripping down the side of my face, near my eyes, did she get goggles for me to protect my eyes. From my experience with other teeth cleaning, the dentist didn't seem to be comfortable using the water and the suction. I had far more water hit my face than usual and at one point the water shot up in a stream up and over my mouth onto my face. A couple times the suction sucked in my cheek and once I choked on the water - which is a little scary. At some point the hygienist came in to assist with managing the suction, which I found odd. I don't recall ever needing 2 people for a teeth cleaning. Is that typical? 4. The appointment ended at 4:40. An hour after it started, which is about what I expected when I planned my schedule. Of course, since it started 40 minutes late, this was a problem. Had we started even close to on time, I would have been fine. Instead, I took a Lyft instead of public transportation to get me back more quickly. Still, I was 30 minutes late for a client appointment. I had notified my client of the delay as it was happening. but client service is important and it made me look unprofessional. I've gone to my prior dentist for at least 10 years and I never had to wait as long as 10 minutes, let alone 40 for an appointment. In fact, I don't recall ever having to wait that long for a dentist appointment. If it had been handled better - with a little respect for my time, setting my expectations reasonable, transparency about what was going on, it wouldn't have been so bad. The dentist did apologize for the wait, but it really didn't seem to be a big deal to anyone in this office. I used a Groupon for this so I'm glad I didn't have to pay after this experience. read more

One word: Scam! I bought the Groupon for X-ray and dental cleaning. After the exam, the dentist came over to tell me I have early stage periodontal disease and it can be prevented if I get a deep cleaning along with 4 regular dental cleanings, and because I have the early stage disease I can't do the cleaning offered on the Groupon. Fair, because it did state that in the fine prints. However! They were trying to up sell me this plan which will cost $3000+ with no dental insurance. I said I will think about and the dentist said many times how I really need to do the plan. I googled how much something like this will cost and it certainly didn't go anywhere what they priced me at. I went to a second dentist and I got the same deep cleaning plus 4 dental cleaning visits plan for the price of less than $700 with no insurance. Yep, beware yall. read more

This place has staff that will try to exaggerate the work you need done. The help cannot even do an X ray correct and will need to scan you multiple times giving you over exposure to radiation. The incompetence doesn't stop there. They try to get you to sign forms saying you authorize work to be done before you even agree to do it. They are probably earning commission on procedures they can force onto customers. What dentist posts a sign saying in the lobby saying you will require a deep cleaning if they find you have some form of gum disease?! This one does, even have you don't show symptoms. They are saying that if you have peridontal disease that they won't perform a cleaning on you because they want you to pay $1300 for a deep cleaning. They even said I had cavaties that were not found and were stains on my teeth! After getting 3 more opinions from other dentists and peridontal measurements. I mentioned what I was told here and no other dentist recommended a deep scaling and repeat cleaning. They could not even use the bad X ray of my teeth overlapping because of the person that took them. No one found more than a 3mm depth and were convinced that this place gives everyone a "deep cleaning" treatment plan to cover their bottom line and rip people off. Stay far away unless you have thousands you're ready to throw away on a regular cleaning that they will make you think is a deep cleaning you need because they will bait and switch on you real quick. I've never seen such a greedy dentist and her relative or boyfriend works the from desk. They are scammers that are trying to cover their overhead of having a big officer downtown. Get a second or third opinion. They also have signs in the lobby offering money off your next appointment for a good review, bribing customers. They redeemed my groupon without me showing it to them, didn't want to give me my X rays, did not do the basic cleaning that I paid for. RIP OFF, STAY FAR AWAY! read more

Do not buy the Groupon for this place. I definitely feel like more people should see this and won't. This place has a really slick scam going on right now where they bring people in for a cleaning, but in the fine print they say if you have a periodontal disease the Groupon is void and they cant do it. The waiting room is very nice. I was brought into the exam room and sat there for a while. Had the x-rays done, kind of uncomfortable but everything fine. The Dentist came in and did a poke test on my teeth and said everything was pretty good and that I should floss more. To be fair, it has been some years since i have seen a Dentist- but she said all things considered my teeth look good. She also said something about how I would need to schedule a scaling / deep clean. (I thought I was there for a cleaning?) I've read in other reviews that these people always try to get you to do this treatment. A short while later the nurse came in with a printed bill of treatments that would total $1,500. She said I would need to come in four different times and have several hundred dollars worth of visits in follow-up care. I realize at this point they were going to do nothing. I asked her if she was going to do anything and she said it would "just stir up bacteria." So you basically pay them $50 to tell you to go see the Dentist more. We walked back out to the reception area and it was obvious I was ready to leave. She printed out another piece of paper with the same treatments on it except now the total was $1,050. So somewhere between the exam room and the reception desk the price went down $450? It's really too bad because the people they are preying on with this Groupon are the same people typically without insurance or the means to pay for expensive treatments. read more

An up selling scam! The Dentist and his team at Millennium Dental Group tried so hard to convince me to get xrays, when I just got them from his same office only 8 months ago. They say any xrays more than 6 months are "old." It's an obvious unnecessary up-sell. They said I had to sign an agreement not to get xrays since I'm turning them down - but they never had me sign anything. More confirmation their entire scheme is a scam to force xrays on clients for their profit. The cleaning itself from the dentist was literally less than 10 minutes. I was shocked. Then his assistant took another 10 minutes to floss and polish. Very rushed experience. The dentist didn't even use the manual pic on any of my teeth except the bottom for less than 1 minute. This is not a normal experience. All cleanings ive has from 10 different dentists throughout my life last 45 minutes to 1 hour. This was unacceptable. I went to Millennium Dental for a cleaning as a new patient. When I got in a hygienist had me sit down to wait since she couldn't find my name on the schedule. She told me the receptionist would be in shortly. A while later she finally showed up and it was clear I wasn't in the system. My friend had a terrible experience here recently with Sandy, who was incredibly rude to him. We referred him to this office, so I felt bad that his time there was ruined by her. Unfortunately, I got to experience this for myself. Sandy sent me a text that said "Hello there I'm trying to confirm your appt for tomorrow...please confirm or I cannot keep your appt on schedule. Thanks, Sandy". What company automatically cancels an appointment just because the person didn't confirm? What if I had lost my phone? What if I never received the text? What if I changed my number? If I showed up there, would they have turned me away? Why didn't she call if she was so concerned that I wouldn't show up? Reluctantly, I responded "C" to confirm, even though I didn't appreciate her threat to cancel my appointment. Well guess what? 30 mins before my appt, she TEXTED me that the dentist had an emergency and couldn't keep my appointment and for me to call HER to reschedule. WTF? Who TEXTS a patient to cancel, especially 30 mins before the appt? CALL THEM. Get on the phone so you can stop them from coming. What if they were driving and didn't see the text? I walked into this office today and not only is the office beautiful, new, and clean, but all the staff were wonderful. One thing that I really admired about this office is the diversity of the staff, that's not something you see everyday.
