Came back on another Friday morning a couple of years later, and they're finally open at the time that they say they'd be at 7:30am. It filled up with a number of local regulars, I think, as they seated themselves around the shop and were served without much delay. Our server was brisk, and came back regularly - with coffee refills even before my colleague had finished more than two sips. Service - right on top of you. We tried the avocado fries - interesting coating, like a mozzarella stick with marinara. It was good, but greasy for a morning. Salmon eggs benedict is known as a Egg Copenhagen here, and it was good, though too many fresh onions for my taste, I had to set a few aside. The side of Taylor Ham was a good three cuts, and crispy. Definitely a diner, and speed was the name of the game. Efficient and was out the door (you pay by the doorway) efficiently. Parking in the lot was tight as it gets busier. They have a lot of different choices, so will probably be back here again to try more breakfast and lunch options.

Super affordable! Comming over from NY the prices were way cheaper than what I'm use to. I got the Spinach & Feta cheese omelet, it was the perfect portion size and very tasty. I wasnt a big fan of the Frappuccino, it tasted very bitter and honestly was similar to a unsugared ice coffee. Also, our sugar container was covered in mayo and I grabbed it without knowing and that was kind of gross. But they have fast service and a ton of food options.

Great diner and great food. The place was empty but that's cause it was a Sunday at 3 pm after the rush. The food was excellent. Got the 2 eggs platter and they recommend the buffalo wings which were the perfectly blend of tang and saucy. Everything was well seasoned and they provided home made whipped butter which I thought was a nice touch. Staff was amazing. There was a playoff game on and being the only customer there we were all into it Great vibes inside and felt very cozy

This place gets the job done, but we wouldn't go out of our way to eat here. We thought it would be a quick, easy option for a pre-theatre meal, and we waited almost longer than we would have at another restaurant for subpar food (even for a diner) and inattentive service. We both ordered burgers with different preferences, they both came out the same way. We went again for breakfast hoping it was a fluke, but we still had inattentive and slow service. Overall, its just a diner so we can't be too critical, but there are much better options nearby.

Ordered takeout last night. I should've posted pics but it was so good we devoured everything. Everything was on point. Ordered a cheeseburger with Swiss no fries for my coworker. Asked to be cooked medium and it was perfect. I ordered a rock & roll cheeseburger which is with bacon and cheese and fries. I preferred mine medium rare and it was perfect. The fries weren't greasy or salty. Both burgers came with coleslaw, lettuce, tomato and pickle spears. The service was impeccable. They said 15-20 minutes. I got there in under 15 minutes and all was ready and waiting. This was an excellent choice for dinner takeout since my regular joint was closed. Will be ordering from here again. Highly recommend.

My favorite diner in NJ. I reviewed 8 years ago and figured it was time or an update. Went with my Daughters recently and had another fantastic breakfast. I had French toast with super plump sausage links. My Daughters got the corned beef hash and eggs. Always yummy and served with a smile. Everyone here is so nice and hustles. The menu is huge and everything I have had hear has been great. Coffee is strong and black. Make sure to tip your server well they are hustling. Comfy booths and great food. It's a recipe fir success

We came after seeing something at the Papermill Playhouse and thought it would be crowded with other patrons, but the parking lot was empty. A sign? Got seated quickly, boyfriend ordered a Coke and I ordered a water, the waiter only brought the Coke. Then a really long time later, after we'd thoroughly read the menu. We ordered and I asked about the water, and it was still several minutes before I got it. Maybe because it doesn't add to the bill he didn't think it was worth it? We were about to just get up and leave and debated if we would have to pay for the soda by the time it came. The waiter didn't write anything down, said the part that says "soup AND salad included with entree" was a typo, it was one or the other. BF only wanted one and was fine with that, but that's just false advertising. He also brought my boyfriend the wrong soup. I got the quesadillas, which were fine but a bit bland. They were adequate. I was in the mood, but it's Mexican food at a diner, so I knew it wouldn't blow me away. BF got the chicken parm which was a huge portion, enough for good leftovers, so that was fine. The older man who I guess was the manager/owner was all smiles when seating us, he got me a water refill, and he rang us up and thanked us for coming. He seemed genuine, but unfortunately the rest of the service was a major blow.

This weekend I decided to finally check it out. Spot Diner is located in the middle of a block, sandwiched between other store fronts. A blue awning is set over glass windows in the front. The doorway is a bit awkward, but when you get in you'll see plenty of booths and regular tables to sit at. Even better, you can sit at a counter to the left, one of my favorite features of any diner. I wound up sitting at a booth and it was at an odd time (around 4PM) so it was not crowded. The waitress was there very quickly and she was very nice. The host was cool too. No issues at all with service. The interior of Spot Diner has clearly been renovated in recent time. You can tell at one time it probably looked more like a classic diner but since then the interior has been painted blue and grey (giving off a Greek restaurant vibe) and there are some nice paintings hanging on the walls. I was really there just for a snack so I wound up ordering French Toast (which was still available at this hour). It came out quickly and it was good! One of the challenges with French Toast at any restaurant cooking it thoroughly while not drying it out. Fortunately they did a great job here The outer edge had a nice bit to it while the middle was chewy and cooked properly. Butter and syrup were of course provided on the side. I enjoyed my visit to Spot and I hope to come back for a full, proper breakfast one day!

I like and enjoy Maplewood, its people , culture and food - as well as its beautiful tree- lined streets , parks and coffee shops. On this particular day, I had the honor of Elizabeth Summer companionship (my beloved morkie). We walked and had coffee and walked some more but then got caught in a thunder- lightening storm! Shane on me for not looking up the weather. Thankfully, I was graciously welcomed into "spot" and when I asked if my furry friend was too, they didn't hesitate. I'll be honest, everything we've ordered has been to our liking / sadly- not this day. It's ok though - they didn't want to charge me buy I did ask for an additional order and made sure I tipped the very sweet young man attending me.. "us"! I will gladly continue to visit the spot - I have enjoyed every other meal - oh and their cream of turkey- fills my"chicken-soup with rice" craving with turkey soul! Enjoy!! Buen provecho!!!

My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which added to a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

Everything in my previous review still stands - it's still an interesting hybrid of family restaurant, sport bar and lounge. Since my previous review I've had some of the food and it's as expected - average to a bit below average fitting for how I viewed the place before having food. I've managed to try a burger here and was disappointed. I asked for medium-well, it was beyond well done. Dry and not very well seasoned at that. The fries were unacceptable. Plentiful but I'm almost positive these are Ore-Ida frozen fries. The bar pie was also pretty sad. It's about 4 medium slices of thin crust pizza with average sauce flavor. It seemed a bit burnt. I also got a plate of buffalo wings to share with my buddies. Again average. It wouldn't be so bad but the prices are pretty high.
