Checked out Millbrae Pancake House around 12 PM on a Saturday. The line outside looked intimidating, but don't let it scare you off: I was told it would only be a 15-minute wait and it was maybe a 20 minute wait. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and the Swedish Pancakes. The portions are very generous, so come hungry! The Swedish pancakes were delicious, though they weren't exactly what I had imagined them to be. Still, the meal was solid comfort food. The restaurant has a great old-timey vibe that feels very nostalgic. Even with the Saturday rush, the service was fast and the servers were incredibly nice. I'll definitely be coming back!

Millbrae Pancake House has been a solid breakfast spot for me. I've tried multiple items on the menu and it's always consistently good. It's not one of those trendy, over-the-top breakfast places, but it's dependable and well executed. Today I tried the chicken fried steak and, like the other breakfast items I've had before, it delivered. The steak was crispy and the gravy was flavorful. I'm also a big fan of the Swedish pancakes with the lingonberry butter. They're light and really delicious.

The coffee here amazing ! Hits really well . Refills are free . Staff is attentive and refilled my cup several times as I had my breakfast . I had to use the restroom in the middle of my meal and the bathroom was SUPER clean and smelled like it had just been cleaned 100 sanitary and smelled nice . They also have a wall of celebrities who have come to eat here including my queen Tyra Banks that I like to look at every time I come . I wish this place many years of success , i hope it's around forever.

Living in San Francisco I have been fortunate to trying different cusines from around the world. I have enjoyed anything from the curated fancy rare cuisine to the hole in the wall place which serves international food and became a Michelin Guide restaurant. One thing I do enjoy is an All American breafast. The best All American breakfast places are usually found outside of San Francisco and are most likely in the middle of nowhere in the heart of America . There is a place has been serving one of the best all American breakfasts within a TMZ ( Twenty Mile Zone) of San Francisco. Here you will find classics like the Hawaiian waffle, The banana waffle, and the blueberry waffle which all comes with whip like some in SF. They also serve savory omelettes like the mushroom and cheese along with the chili and cheese omelette. They also serve breakfast all day. It is located in Millbrae and it is called the Millbrae Pancake House. Although Millbrae is known more for its great Asian cuisine you will find this American classic restaurant on El Camino Real. The Millbrae Pancake House has been serving great American breakfast since 1959. I ordered the half/half &eggs which came with hash brown, sausage and bacon. I also ordered a side biscuits and gravy which were savory and delicious. I then I had a short stack of buttermilk pancakes which were tasty and dripped in syrup and not too sweet. Lastly I had the strawberry waffle which was berry good and the waffle was flakey like some in SF. Come to the Millbrae Pancake House for a taste of America. Went to the Millbrae Pancake House and didn't have a long "wait"to get a table and ordered the half/half & egg "plate"came here for the buttermilk pancakes and that's what I also "ate" and the Millbrae Pancake House food had so much flavor it makes America taste so "great" So come on a stroll out of San Francisco and plan a "trip"to go to Millbrae where the pancakes are like Benson Boone made to "flip"and watch the pancake topped with melted butter and watch it get "whip" like some in SF and watch the syrup drop and "drip"

Went here after flying into SFO early in the morning. We got seated quickly and the food came out very quick too. Food was just ok, nothing much really stood out. Omelettes and hash browns were decent, but the Swedish pancake (crepes) were meh. I was hoping for more flavor from the lingonberry butter but was disappointed (looks just like somebody threw lingonberries into the butter but it wasn't really blended or anything like that).

I have heard of this place and people hyping it up and decided to go. When going, if there is a line they will give you a ticket and call out the numbers for when your table is ready. The restaurant is spacious. The food was eh. I ordered pancakes that had bananas and added chocolate chips. The pancakes themselves were dry and just not what I expected. I ordered a side of sausage and they were cold.... Service was ok, could've been better. So no, this place is not it, but of course every person has their own judgement!

A neighborhood classic! Perfect for a morning when you're craving traditional breakfast food and don't want to make it yourself. The inside is cozy and was packed with people. I always get a scramble but wanted to try their Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, although I would've preferred the muffins itself to not be soggy by the time I get it. The pancakes were a hit, of course, and warms the soul every time. Our party was seated in less than 30 mins on a busy Saturday morning. Parking was tough in the lot but there's plenty of street parking by the park.

Haven't been here in a few years, but everything still looks the same. Has a real old school diner feel. Service and food were great. Came on a Tuesday morning once it opened up at 7 and there was already a line of folks waiting as well. Got the supreme omelette which comes With your choice of toast or pancake I decided tog eat the butter milk pancakes. Also comes with hash browns which were very crispy. Pancakes were good, but the omelette was really good. Great spot for breakfast. Be careful coming early in the morning because it was freezing inside the diner.

Classic Millbrae establishment. The wait was about 10 minutes on a rainy Monday President's Day at 9:15pm. We had 2x California omelettes $18 each, supreme omelette $18 and coffee $4. The food came out reasonably quick. It tasted fine. It is cool how pancakes are included or toast if you order the omelettes. Service was lacking. Our waiter disappeared for half an hour. Luckily another waiter was able to helped us with coffee and water refills. But since our waiter wasn't around, we had to wait at least 15 minutes for the check so that we could pay. It is ridiculous to disappear for half an hour.

If you're this popular, with over 3.5K reviews on Yelp, I think it's fair to hold you to a higher standard. They drive a lot of traffic. I came with a couple friend who loves this place for the pancakes. I'll admit, I like the Swedish pancakes too. They're thin, almost crepe like, and much lighter than traditional buttermilk. I haven't had them like this in my memory. You don't find that style everywhere. That said, the rest of the meal didn't land. My hot link sausages were oily and overwhelmingly spicy, without much other flavor coming through. My eggs were closer to medium than over easy, and one of my friend's plates had one yolk runny and the other fully firm. I expect myself to cook eggs like this not a chef. The hash browns on both plates were very overcooked and dry, very tough to get through, unenjoyable. Other friend described her omelet as bland, and after trying a bite, I agreed. A bit more seasoning would go a long way. I say this hoping it encourages more consistent quality control. With the volume they handle, it feels like there should be a tighter check to prevent these kinds of slips. How about every 30 plates pushed out have a chef inspect the product. It was Valentine's Day, which I wasn't thinking about but had a wait. We checked in at 12:08 and were seated at 12:55. Once seated, though, the food came quickly at 1:04, so the kitchen did move fast.

Came here while a family member was having surgery at Mills. When I got there this place was packed. Hard to find parking. When I entered it was crowded but it's a quick turn and burn. Staff is very friendly. I didn't wait long to be seated. Was greeted by a friendly waiter. He answered questions that I had. I placed my order and food arrived quickly. Food was hit and very delicious. I absolutely enjoyed my food. I will be back

Nostalgic neighborhood diner that many of us have been going all their lives. Their expertise is their breakfast as it comes with a generous amount of hashbrowns and a side of pancakes. The Swedish pancakes with lingonberry butter was so unique back then, and still hold their own to this day. Chicken fried steak - 4/5 - Doused with flavorful breakfast gravy, with the steak itself being warm, still crispy, with a KFC-esque seasoning flavor (in a good way). My only gripe is that I wish it was bigger. Service is always prompt. Ambience stays old school but clean.

Louisiana Hot Links, over easy eggs, hash browns, and buttermilk pancakes
    Angelo J.

Went here on Easter Sunday with my girlfriend and her dad. It was my first time here and I enjoyed it a lot! It was very busy with the whole place filled up, but we were seated within 5 minutes and got a nice spot in a booth. Servers were very nice and checked in on us a lot. I got the Louisiana hot links with eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The pancakes were nice and fluffy, as were the hash browns brings golden & crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Eggs were over easy and perfectly done, and the hot links were great and the perfect amount of spice. Would definitely go here again! Would want to try something new because their menu had a lot of great options.

For how popular and nice this place is....I was expecting better!…read more Inside is super nice (peep the cute menu picture). Cute decor, comfortable seating, and good lighting. Service was really nice and fast. The prices and portions are fair. Flavor was disappointing. My naeng myeon soup was too watery, it didn't taste like anything, there was barely any meat..., and the noodles were clumped together (see picture). It was pretty unpleasant and disappointing. The leek pancake had good flavor but could've been more crispy (didn't have much browning color). My husband's bulgogi soup was good, but nothing special. Overall it was not the best experience......if I come back I'll try the sul long tang but....not sure if I'll make it back...
