Grand Hyatt at SFO is a must stay when traveling in and out of San Francisco. Everything about the hotel is spectacular. Quail + Crane is situated on the 3rd floor of the airport connected hotel. If you can get a seat close to the floor to ceiling windows; one can see the airport and even some planes. I've only dined in for breakfast/or brunch, and so I can't speak much about the dinner offerings. But, I can say that the food has been delicious each time I've eaten here. I absolutely love Eggs Benedict, and so it's a no brainer for me if it is on the menu. One can upgrade the dish to include Thai style Dungeness crab cakes, and it is worth every penny. Service here is also warm and inviting. Depending on where one is going, the time of the flight, the time of season, and overall time one has; staying at Grand Hyatt SFO and getting a bite at sit down, in this case Quail + Crane; makes all the difference for a long journey ahead.
Seeing a play near by and staying at the Grand Hyatt. Decided to try Quail and Crane which is super convenient here at the hotel on the 3rd floor. Restaurant is very open with great views of airport terminals and airfield. Servers were very friendly and helpful, especially Flora. I ordered a cocktail and we brought a bottle of wine from home to enjoy. The smoked poke was very good and also really cool when they took the lid off at the table. We also noted that it was the first time we've had something like this that had enough wontons on the side. Normally you always run out. Not here. The sushi was good but very small for the price. The last thing we ordered was pasta with foraged mushrooms. This was our least favorite. Was expecting a creamy earthy pasta with the mushrooms but the mushrooms almost seemed pickled. There was a very vinegary taste from the mushrooms that was off putting. The pasta was also very very al dente. Way too undercooked for us. Lastly this place can be a little pricey. Yes you're in the SF Bay Area and you're paying for convenience but to me pricey for what you get. Location and views are great and the staff is super friendly
Trekked all the way to SFO to have dinner with my mom and it was worth it! I didn't realize the hotel at SFO had such a good restaurant! It was pretty pricey but food was good, i don't know if it was worth the price though. The sushi was actually so creamy and delish though

We had dinner here a couple times, and on a recent stay we decided to skip the free food in Regency Club and dine here. Well same as before, food is fine, sushi is fresh, service is great, but price is high. Nothing really wrong with it, but going forward I think I would prefer to eat dinner at the bar upstairs on 4th floor, their all day menu is more appealing and price is definitely better. Breakfast however is absolutely wonderful and more reasonable. We had a great breakfast before taking a long flight out of International Terminal. Grand Hyatt SFO is the best airport hotel in the US in my opinion. We frequented often and will definitely be back here again for the wonderful breakfast.
Located in the Grand Hyatt at SFO this is their main dining room. There's also a bar/pub and 24 hour grab and go upstairs. This restaurant is very nicely appointed and comfortable. It doesn't feel stodgy, but still upscale. The menu isn't broad but has enough to satisfy most palates, with an emphasis on Asian fusion. They have a variety of sushi available as well. The drink menu is on a tablet to peruse. I decided on a 'woke dish' from the menu, the Shrimp Fried Rice. It was a nice portion with a mild taste, even with jalapeño (which seemed skimpy at best. I found one slice.) The shrimp were tasty and grilled nicely. We were offered complimentary house bread which was good. I washed it down with a 9oz Sauvignon Blanc. Service was top notch and attentive The bowls they use are earthenware and beautiful. It was a good meal. Pricey at $135 for two with tip but definitely good value.
Level 3 of the Grand Hyatt. This was a nice place to unwind for the evening. Service excellent and not rushed. Small by the glass wine list. Hokkaido scallops were tasty, albeit too much diced bacon in it which overpowered all the other ingredients on the plate. They had 4-5 salads and pasta and meats on the menu. Would return!
Fantastic place for dinner and breakfast. We stayed overnight at the Grand Hyatt SFO for a staycation and enjoyed two meals here. The crab cakes are really delicious and I enjoyed the tuna poke presentation with the glass top being removed at the table. Kid friendly is a plus as well as excellent and attentive service in a beautiful space. We went back for breakfast this morning and ordered 4 entrees. The only disappointing one was the avocado toast - we didn't like the mustard tang or lettuce on the toast. The eggs Benedict with crab cakes were yummy as was the breakfast sandwich made with French toast. The bagel for the salmon was okay, but everything else was really delicious. Appreciated our server's attentiveness and stellar service. Will definitely be back!
My friend and I came here for a birthday celebration! Now you're wondering, out of all the places to eat in the Bay, why would I go to the the airport? Well this isn't located in the airport, it's located the Grand Hyatt at SFO. The best way to get here is just drive and they have valet parking for just 10.00 , as the restaurant has the three hour validation. You can pay in cash or by card. The restaurant is located on the third floor and you get views of the south side of the airport. You can easily make your reservation online using RESY. The host gave us a table by the window which was amazing because I love planes and I felt so close to the planes. The menu is on the table so make sure you see all their categories and pages. It ranges from sushi to full course meals. My friend and I opted to get the Thai crab cakes. Ahi tuna, ginger miso carrot soup, pan seared scallops and miso black cod. Our appetizers came out first and here are my thoughts Thai crab cakes 5/5 - stuffed with a lot of crab and the batter wasn't too thick. This was tasty Ginger Miso carrot soup- 3/5- a little bit spicy, it came with a cracker but the cracker was like a shrimp chop and was too oily Ahi tuna -4/5 - good but the chips were a little oily as well but it's good they made it in house Main course -seared scallops - 5/5 - cooked to perfection! This was cooked so well and the edges were gave it's crisp . Miso cod 5/5- this was so fresh and tender. I loved how they made this as it melted ok your mouth. The black rice that it came with was ok, I felt that it didn't need rice or maybe they can give me less if it. The cause paired really well with this Dessert - since it was my friends bday we got the yuzu coconut panna cotta. This was very fragrant and smooth. And it wasn't too sweet. I would def come back to this restaurant and try their other menu items. Our waitress was super super nice and she tried to give us suggestions and talk to us thinking we weren't local. When it comes to their menu, I heard it changes from time to time . They also have a bar in top of this restaurant if you want to just chill and watch more action from the airport
My parents and I tried Quail and Crane after staying a night at the Grand Hyatt SFO- the service was great and the eggs Benedict with crab cakes was amazing. The dining room had huge windows and nice ambiance.
Great Morning Meeting Spot at SFO. Wonderful breakfast menu. Impeccable service. Amazing view of the runways and fantastic art installation hanging overhead. On this visit, I thoroughly enjoyed my delightfully light "Chicken & Waffles"; fresh eggs; naturally sweet berries; and, rich, robust, and piping hot French press coffee. CHEERS!
Quality stuff here. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles. The chicken was amazingly flavorful (it's like the chefs threw in every single spice they had in the kitchen lol in magically a coherent manner). Super crispy as well. Waffle was buttery-scrumptious while not being greasy at all (didn't think it really needed the bacon pieces in it but it would make bacon fans rejoice). Perfectly poached eggs to the side. Loved the mixture of different textures in the grain and greens entree. Crispy veggies, soft quinoa, and the oozing of poached eggs. A little skimpy on the vinaigrette though with an unbalanced heavy taste of olive oil. Even the French press coffee was pretty good. Smooth. Tasted freshly brewed for sure. Service was friendly but not very attentive. After receiving the plates of food the server was nowhere to be seen until she was ready to clear all of the emptied plates. Restaurant is located inside of the Grand Hyatt at SFO. I dined during breakfast service (there's a different menu during dinner service). Overall rating: 4-ish stars rounded up
I'm always skeptical of restaurants within hotels; however, in this case, Quail + Crane was one of the few outstanding ones I have been to. When I walked in, the front desk and servers greeted me with a smile and positive attitude. The food was impeccable. I had their salad, poke appetizer, and ribeye steak. The salad was a good portion with fresh greens and was refreshing to munch on after a long day of travel. The poke was good, nothing spectacular. The steak, though--my goodness, was it delicious. It was cooked a perfect medium rare (perfected better than even some steakhouses I have been to) and was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The prices were steep, but that's what you can expect at a hotel restaurant in SF (let alone connected to SFO). However, the service and quality of food made up for it. I'd dine here again if I have any future layovers at the Grand Hyatt SFO!
Beautiful upscale restaurant located inside the Grand Hyatt SFO. Nice place to get dinner or have a drink by the large floor to ceiling windows and enjoy the busy city view. Service is attentive. Recommend the Thorn and Petal drink; cocktails are well balanced and have beautiful presentation here.
Quail + Crane -- An Incredible Breakfast Experience We stayed at the Hyatt SFO for a little staycation and received complimentary breakfast at Quail + Crane the following morning. I honestly wasn't expecting breakfast to become one of the highlights of our stay, but it absolutely did. First, the setting is beautiful. Sitting there enjoying breakfast with the gorgeous view immediately made the morning feel special. The freshly squeezed orange juice was fantastic, and I have to give an unexpected amount of praise to the fruit plate -- possibly the best fruit plate I've ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly ripe, beautifully presented, and actually tasted as good as it looked. Then came breakfast! I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Dungeness crab, accompanied by potatoes and greens, and it was phenomenal. The eggs were beautifully prepared, there was a generous amount of crab, and everything worked perfectly together. My husband created his own omelette with bacon, ham, spinach and cheese, also with potatoes, and his meal was equally fantastic. Everything arrived fresh, hot and beautifully presented. But what really took our experience to another level was the service. Our waitress was the ONLY server working the entire room, which was completely full, and somehow she made us feel as though we were the only people in the restaurant. I genuinely don't know how she did it. She was attentive, warm, personable and never once made us feel rushed or forgotten. Watching her take care of an entire dining room while still providing that level of individual attention was impressive. She deserves tremendous recognition. We also had the pleasure of meeting Shawn, who I believe was a manager, and he embodied hospitality. He personally welcomed us, asked how our stay was going, whether we were enjoying our view and Club Level accommodations, and of course how we were enjoying the restaurant. It never felt like a scripted manager check-in. He was genuinely kind, professional and interested in our experience. That interaction stayed with us. We would happily return knowing Shawn was in the building because he made us feel that well taken care of. My only constructive feedback would be regarding our initial interaction with the host. The welcome felt noticeably less warm than the rest of our experience. We were asked to wait approximately 10 minutes despite several tables appearing to be available, and the interaction was fairly dry, without much of a greeting or smile. It wasn't a major issue, but because the hospitality from everyone else was so exceptional, the difference stood out. A warmer initial welcome would make the experience seamless from beginning to end. That said, once we were seated, Quail + Crane absolutely knocked it out of the park. Beautiful views, fantastic food, incredibly fresh ingredients and service that made an already wonderful staycation even more memorable. Shawn and our incredible waitress -- thank you. You are exactly what great hospitality looks like. We will absolutely be back. read more
Unfortunately, this restaurant had gone downhill. The view is still very beautiful, and there is a major premium for it. Seating is decent depending on where you get seated and how crowded the restaurant is. When we went this time, it was much more crowded and we got seated at a tight area where servers slid behind me and another seat that was less than a foot away rather than walking around to a wider area. Service was alright and food was served promptly. No top tier service despite the price being equivalent to our experience at the Rosewood on Sand Hill. If I am paying that much, at least have the staff be able to explain each dishes and the origin of the food. Lastly, the food was worse than before. The Chilean Sea Bass was slightly overcooked. The Pad Thai and Shrimp Fried Rice were okay, since they are hard to mess up. The dumpling soup was okay and it being in a bowl made of plastic felt a little off putting considering the price. The California Roll was very expensive despite not being anything special. The cheesecake dessert also got smaller than last time and they gave less fruits than before. The only dish that tasted great this time were the Aloha Island sushi rolls, which were $34 for 4 bites. Portions are also on the smaller side at this restaurant, and having to order extra food to be full when it is already expensive is not great when the food had gone downhill. I really wanted to like this place, but I guess not. Also the manager recently changed. read more

First time here with my friend because we wanna try something adventurous. It's by the SF International Airport inside the hotel. We've only ordered 3 dishes. And what can I say: I'm a bit disappointed. I wa looking forward for some good food, but they're very average. The seafood pasta was a bit spicy for my friend. The steak was overcooked. The only dish we both actually enjoyed was poke which is interesting. It came with a smoky taste which I like, and it's fun to watch how it was smoked. I've been here, done it and probably won't come back again. read more
Huge and spacious restaurant with excellent service. Food is amazingly delicious. We had the valentine dinner and it did not disappoint. I wanted to sub the beef Wellington with something plant based and chef David came to our table and explain the options. I had the beet Wellington and it was pretty tasty. The starter was crispy tofu for me and seared ahi tuna for my husband. Both will melt in your mouth. The dessert was also pretty tasty. read more

This is a local restaurant inside the Grand Hyatt connected to the San Francisco airport. The ambiance is LOVELY. It feels both vintage and upscale at the same time. The wait staff is extremely inviting and pleasant. The food though...it's plated perfectly but just okay in terms of flavor. It's clear that you're paying for the experience and ambiance. I was partially pulled in to the thought of this place by the reviews talking about how good the sushi is. Unfortunately there was no sushi the day we went. I was told they'd have it back the next day. Since I wasn't very hungry, I ordered the crab cakes instead. They were kinda of flavorless, and the crab meat seemed shredded/stringy. They needed the "salad" it's served with to dress up the flavor. Because the drink menu is so fancy to explore (imagine full screen pictures on the ordering tablet along with intriguing descriptions), I ordered one. I can't remember what it was called but it's intended to mirror an old fashioned. Hubby had the burger. It came with their version of steak fries. Other reviews are correct that the "fries" are waaaay too salty. They are also much thinker than a traditional steak fry. They are like miniature fry bricks in size and, in my opinion, much too thick. To be clear, steak fries are my favorite kind of French fry. I love how "meaty" they are, but these...nah. Pro tip: while there was no pizza on the menu, they have a wood fire oven and churned out some beautiful looking pizza pies for a couple of young girls seated at one of the tables. So if you have your little ones in tow, ask what they can make shake for them. It may come from the menu of the other restaurant above this one in the hotel lobby. It was clear that they share preparation (for instance, the cocktails for Q&C were coming from the bar upstairs), so this is plausible. read more

I splurged and decided to stay overnight at the SFO Grand Hyatt prior to a flight, and since we were already splurging, also decided to eat here for dinner. It was ... ok. I got the Wagyu Burger, which was tasty, but the steak fries that accompanied it were way too salty. Service was friendly, but slow -- it took about 40 minutes for our food to come out, and the restaurant didn't seem overly busy at the time. In addition, the drinks we ordered came out at very different times -- my wife got her glass of wine fairly promptly, but it took the bar another 10-15 minutes for my margarita. At least the interior decor and view of the airport terminals and tarmac were spectacular, making the wait a little more enjoyable. It's worth eating here for the view and ambience, but there are a number of other much more affordable dining options at the airport (pre-security) that you can get to easily by hopping onto the AirTrain, so at least you're not a captive audience! read more
It was a little tricky taking the SFO Red Line Air Train to get to the Grand Hyatt. Every stop is announced EXCEPT the Grand Hyatt. It just stops after Garage A with no announcement at all about which stop it is. Be sure and get off after Garage A, it's just a few hundred feet past it. Anyway, once you find the Grand Hyatt, you'll like what you see. It's really nice. Quail + Crane has a very pleasant, open atmosphere. It's a very nice restaurant but it's also very casual. I noticed the servers were wearing blue jeans. There are planes parked right across the street, and you'll have a nice view of them. It's a really nice, casual place to meet for a meal and have a chat. Oh yeah, the food. That's why it only gets 3 stars. I had the Wagyu burger. $34. It was OK. It was cooked just right, but it wasn't anything spectacular. It reminded me of a Red Robin burger. It was messy and juicy which is OK with me. I ended up eating it with a fork and a knife. It was too salty, though. The burger came with a few wedge fries that were very undercooked. They looked good, but they weren't good at all. The cheese on top of them wasn't even melted and there was a huge wedge of garlic on top of them for no apparent reason. Very disappointing. My friend had the vegan fried rice. $24. She enjoyed it. It was mostly rice. I had a bite. It was basically flavored rice with a few goodies on top. I say go for the atmosphere and not for the food. You could probably find a better meal at the food court in any of the SFO terminals for half the price. Our server had to cover tables at the bar upstairs so my ice tea glass remained empty for quite some time. I had to ask another server for a refill. All the staff was really nice, though. read more
We were very satisfied with our brunch at quail + crane. The interior decor was beautiful and both hostess and server were friendly. I loved my chicken and waffles and it was one of the best I had. They were very kind to give me a latte with a panda design on top. We will definitely go back again. read more

Ok, ever needed a place to hang out when at SFO for a few hours? Because this is the spot to do it. They are located inside the Grand Hyatt hotel, which you can get to by airport shuttle. They had no problem with me and my husband dragging our luggage in and dining while we waited for our flight. The menu was relatively simple but plenty of options, and honestly great portions for the price. The decor and ambiance are great and plenty of spots to get some work done or meet for a business deal. Also they offer alcohol which many people would consider a plus. My partner and I frequently come to Quail & Crane since they opened. We love the staff Is amazing. Ashley was amazing and Mohit is Amazing to us every-time we go. Recently their food has gone downhill. We went there for Valentine's Day and we were excited about the food that we ordered only to be very disappointed. I got the rack of lambs and my boyfriend got the filet mignon. I got more sauce and carrots than I did meat. I literally got bones. I paid $50 for bones. I'm not sure if our server was new but we got our food out way before we got our drinks and our drinks were the first thing we ordered. She forgot our order of the wine so we didn't get wine until we were finished with our food. we asked her for steak knives when we got our and we didn't get it until we were done eating. We had to use a butter knives to cut through the rack of lambs and filet mignon. We paid 140 for our whole meal and it was a very disappointing & unsatisfying Valentines Dinner . We ended up going upstairs to the café and ordering a box of pizza and oatmeal cookie. I feel like I could've went to Costco and have ordered that for my Valentines meal instead of driving an hour and a half to do that. Honesty if the restaurant keeps up the way they're producing food , you're just better off going up to the bar and ordering their menu and the café menu and you'll get a better meal instead of going to the restaurant. read more
Omg let me share the most amazing hidden little SUSHI restaurant first and foremost. The staff is so sweet and attentive, but the main thing is the seafood the rolls that I had the oysters. Everything felt like they had just caught it that evening the sushi rolls the oysters, the quaint little spot at the airport so whether you're staying at the hotel or you're just flying in and you want to get some good quality food and you and your significant other, wanna share a very romantic or friendly time this place is so amazingly outstanding you must try this place even if it's just oncethe sushi is an 11+ that's how fresh it is so if your flying out go get some lunch or flying in go get some dinner this places are hidden gemI read more

Excellent food - best in class service - an extraordinary dining experience. Highly recommend visiting this place if you're staying near SFO or if you've got a flight to catch and time to kill. The food was tremendously tasty. Sushi was top notch - fresh and delicious. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and the chimichuri sauce on the side is tangy with a bit of a spicy kick. Beware - there is no self parking. Valet is your only option unless you take an Uber, Lyft, or ride in on BART. The service is wonderful. All employees were very kind and respectful. They ensured we had a great dining experience. Highly recommend! read more

First time staying at Hyatt SFO and just the location and ambiance of the restaurant already earns it 3+ stars. The service was fast and friendly but I couldn't bring myself to give it 5 stars simply because the pumpkin soup I ordered was not tasty at all. It was sweet and the aromatic spices(i.e. ginger) overpowered the soup. I always thought that pumpkin soup would be difficult to mess up. I ended up tossing the entire soup after 1 teaspoonful and their prices aren't cheap. Their vegetable pasta was tasty and their cheesecake dessert went really well with the coffee in my hotel room. Perhaps dining in at the restaurant will prove to be better, during my next visit. Dining in is almost always more enjoyable than takeaway. read more
Who would've thought you could have a good food inside a hotel near SFO. Came here because I saw they had steak on their menu and it did not disappoint! Ambiance: casual but could be date night Service: amazing! Food: Hamachi Crudo $16 (3.5/5) wasn't a big fan of the flavors and cut of hamachi. Oysters $18/half dozen (4/5) tasted fresh but didn't like the mignonette. used lemon and hot sauce instead! Rib eye $60 (5/5) perfectly cooked and juicy, came with a good amount of carrots and potatoes as well. Duck Confit Casarecce $31 (3.9/5) great flavors but was a bit too oily. Drinks: love their house red wine, pairs nicely with the steak. I also love how it wasn't super busy and pretty relaxing to dine there. Only bad thing is no parking and its $10 for valet for 3 hours dining at the restaurant. read more
