Wait, I just saw my cc statement. They added another $10 to the tip without my approval. I had already left a 16-17% tip. This has literally never happened before in my life anywhere. It can't even be an honest mistake because I specifically wrote in $ symbol and added it up correctly. WTF. Changed my rating completely. ---- I've seen this restaurant every time I pass by on the way to Barry's or the farmers' market. They used to have a pretty nice outdoor parklet, but I guess it's gone now. They still have outdoor dining, but it's just tables set outside by the window. We came by after a run/workout session and opted to sit outdoors to enjoy the weather and also because we had a pup. Service was quite good. They noticed small details, like an uneven table and provided a water bowl for the dog without prompting. I ordered the grilled salmon ($30) and husband got the fish sandwich ($24). The salmon was actually really good. I enjoyed the small salad it came with and the potatoes were bomb. It felt like a pretty healthy dish, so I didn't feel too guilty dining out. My husband's entree was alright. I really enjoyed the fries, but his sandwich was super soggy. Like the bottom bun was just wet and not enjoyable to eat with hands. We held a business dinner here last night for 8 people and had a great experience! Great food, good service, and lovely ambiance (we were in a private room upstairs). The food was flavorful and the menu had a lot of variety. I enjoyed the artichoke and gnocchi appetizers, as well as my filet. The wines were delicious. The wait staff was attentive and prompt. There was one blip in service - they served my affogato dessert (ice cream with espresso) before they brought out a few remaining desserts (which took a while), and my ice cream largely melted during the wait. I had booked a table for 8 online via OpenTable, and was pleasantly surprised when we were given a private room upstairs (a "complimentary upgrade," I was told). The circular table was excellent and allowed our entire group of 8 to engage in conversation with each other. If you have a group of our size, I'd highly recommend booking the private room with the round table! The service is attentive and efficient, but perhaps a bit stoic. The food: Butternut squash gnocchi was good. Served with a heavy cream sauce, the actual flavor of butternut squash (if it existed at all) was not discernible. For $14, I would expect more than 12 little balls of gnocchi. They were good but I probably wouldn't order again. The lamb shanks were excellent. Perfectly seasoned and extremely tender. It was accompanied by some potatoes and arugula which were also very nicely prepared. I'd definitely order this again. The salmon was also very good. We usually catch up on the happenings on Silicon Valley's digital healthcar le scene since we both have been in the sector for 20+ years. Visited Park and Howard in Burlingame for a business meal and was quite impressed. The steaks were excellent--cooked to perfection and full of flavor. However, the wine list is a bit on the pricier side compared to what I'm used to. They do have some interesting cocktails, though. I tried their spin on an Old Fashioned, which came with some sort of fancy pistachio foam on top. Not really my cup of tea, so I had to switch back to an old fashioned Old Fashioned. Place was crowded for a Monday evening, and dining hall is not very big, and feels really cozy. The staff if attentive, and am sure were pretty pleased with our table ordering some $700 bottles. Overall, a solid spot for a business dinner with great food, but maybe stick to the traditional drinks. read more

The exterior was crunchy, but the cake didn't feel overly oily. There was plenty of crab also. The menu had so many appetizing dishes. For main dishes, two of us got lamb chops and I ordered the lobster ravioli. Everything was really good. I really loved my lobster ravioli! It was a delicate dish and it filled me up. I had one ravioli left on my plate and I knew I had to take it home for my daughter. She also loved the ravioli. The lamb chops come as two or four and it's accompanied by potatoes and a side salad. The two chop option was a good amount of food. The meat was cooked and seasoned well. The dessert menu offered great selections. I got the affogato because it's not a common menu item and I'm a coffee lover. This was a great restaurant and one I've been meaning to try. It lived up to the hype and we really enjoyed it. 10.19.2024 - Date night Made 8:30pm reservations through OT and surprisingly, there were plenty of other times available on a Saturday evening. Wide range of selections. From vegetarian, seafood, meat protein and pasta. Soup of the day: Clam Chowder. Good balanced flavor, but found the consistency to be too watery. Grilled artichokes: Hints of charred edges brought smokiness to each bite. The acidity from the salad and creaminess from the feta cheese made this appetizer really appetizing. Steak tartar: My favorite meal of the night. Well seasoned, tender steak with ample amount of crostini's. It came with Parmesan cheese shavings, but felt unnecessary as it clouded the true flavor of the tartar. Unlike many steak tartars, it didn't come with a raw quail egg on top. Which wasn't a bad thing because it was well dressed and seasoned to begin with. Bbq Pork Ribs: According to my husband, the ribs were very tender that the meat easily fell off the bones. He was sold when learning that this dish was accompanied by homemade corn bread. The cornbread I was able to try, but it had an interesting flavor. Buttery, but I wasn't sure if it was from actual butter or if they used lard. Had an interesting flavor. Lemon-crusted Duck Breast: I was torn between the Grilled Scallops and the Duck Breast. After asking for a recommendation, the server said the chef prepares the Duck deliciously. I decided to try it. I wasn't too impressed. Although the Duck itself was cooked perfectly, the sauce appeared to be more on the sweeter side. Would it have been balanced better, it would have been more enjoyable. The baby carrots were not evenly cooked. Some were al dente, some were overly cooked and it tasted like it was cooked in a batch of old oil. Perhaps I should have ordered the Grilled Scallops instead. Service was good. Anticipation and attentive. I was very impressed when ordering a bottle of sparkling water. Without even requesting, they served our sparkling water with a dish tray of lemons, limes and cucumbers. Loved it! Thoughtfully curated and well-priced, it introduced me to a new favorite Pinot Noir--Belle Glos, Clark & Telephone. Lush, smooth, and beautifully paired with our entrees. One of my companions ordered the scallops. They were seared well and looked the part, but were on the small side and didn't carry a standout flavor. Balanced, but not bold. I went with the 18oz bone-in ribeye, based on our server's recommendation. It was cooked to temperature and well-rested, with good char and texture. I swapped the potato cake for asparagus spears, which were crisp-tender and complemented the blanched spinach well. Everything on the plate was well executed, just not particularly memorable. In short: Park & Howard Bistro is polished and professional. It's the kind of place you don't mind returning to, especially for a group dinner or a reliable evening out. It has a beautiful bar and huge wine wall. We did not have a reservation and the restaurant was pretty full. They sat us right away. We started off with the clam chowder ... can I say AMAZING! My fiancé had an old-fashioned, and I had a sparkling mint lemonade. It was very refreshing. We then had the kale salad which was absolutely delicious!! My fiancé had the Butter lettuce salad. He said the salad was perfect. He then ordered ribs and I had an 18 ounce bone-in ribeye! We ordered the brussels sprout chips on the side. This dinner was absolutely amazing. Fantastic in every way. This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in the Bay Area. Service was excellent. All of their food and drinks are presented beautifully. Everything was delicious. Grilled prawns, beet salad, baby-back ribs and lamb chops were our starters and mains. The meat was cooked perfectly in both dishes. There was a side of delicious cole slaw and cornbread served with the ribs. The meat literally fell off the bones. Martinis eventually changed to wine and desserts included the lava cake and three scoops of gelato. Dinner for two was around $200. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant as well as stree parking. Everything is metered from Monday-Saturday but is free after 6pm. read more

The service was superb; attentive without being intrusive. They all worked as a team to attend to all the diners, or that's how it felt, like everyone was a welcomed guest. The food was very good. We started with the Mediterranean meatball (beef) appetizer. It was very tasty, especially the tomato sauce. Then we shared the half chicken with broccoli and mushrooms and the filet mignon with truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus. I don't really care for the taste of truffles, but in combination with the asparagus the taste was wonderful. Both the asparagus and broccolini were perfectly cooked. The sauce on the chicken was especially delicious. It tasted great with the filet, too. Now the filet was a little less cooked than we requested , but it was really good that way. We shared a cab that went perfectly with the meal. I did wish the meal came with bread because the sauces were so good. It was a little loud I there for me, but the atmosphere was pleasant. Staff just standing around chatting with each other instead of seating us. The waiter was very rude and reeked of cigarettes. Alright, my girls and I were so excited for a girls night in a nice place. But this place disappointed us. The service was not great. We were forgotten because we were sat outside. It's raining and cold so for them to have the outside still open is questionable. The food and drinks are great but I'm still very disappointed so far.
