Made reservations and got sat immediately when we arrived. The place was warm, inviting, moody, and industrial. The drinks were fun and tasty and the food was phenomenal. There were 5 of us and everyone was very happy. The burgers were juicy, cooked well, and hot. The falafel wrap (for our vegetarian friend) was delicious. And the spicy chicken sandwich was the perfect amount of spice. Our waitress Maddy was super helpful and kind. She had a lot of recommendations since it was our first time here. Stopped here after work based on word of mouth. The drinks were great like the black Himalayan salted rimmed passion fruit margarita! Yum! The street corn tots were good and we also ordered some double smash burgers. One was the bacon cheeseburger and the other a mushroom Swiss. The bacon itself on my burger was out of this world good. I do think the meat itself needed some flavor. Some burgers I've had just hit me with that wow this meat is amazing! This one didn't do that for me. Toppings were great tho. A new pub in town, we decided to try it. My husband and I have been in best burgers and cheese curd hunt for the past few months. He ordered the OK burger, a build your own and I ordered the P &J bacon burger. Both were made as described and tasty with the meat always well done. The bacon was done well too, as I like it. The fries were very good and the side salad superb with a light vinaigrette dressing, crazins, feta cheese and sliced onion. The downside were the curds. Heavily breaded then deep fried, I would describe them as mini breaded toasted cheese sandwich bites. If you are looking for true Wisconsin deep fried curds, do not order these. The atmosphere is family friendly, staff and service wonderful. Beer was cold and tasty. Prices are upscale for Appleton. You will enjoy your visit. read more

Really enjoyed dinner here. It's kind of hidden and not very noticeable but definitely worth trying. My wife got the brisket sandwich special which isn't usually her norm and she really liked it. I got the Korean fried chicken sandwich. Food came out so fast after ordering. Our server could of been more enthusiastic. She seemed to just stop by because it was her job. But she had good service, just wasn't super personable. The ambiance is a little dark and I did question why Bob Ross was being played on the bar tv. But towards the end of dinner I was really into his painting. Definitely recommend checking this hidden gem out. read more

Found this place on Yelp and it looked like a fun atmosphere and food looked good from the pics. 100% this place was great. Drinks were on point and the food was delicious. It was busy so we sat at the bar, very professional and friendly service and they were slinging drinks non-stop so it was a small wait, but totally worth it. We had the tomato bisque and Thai pork chili was the soup of the day...both awesome. Split the friend chicken sandwich and although I was full, it was so good it left us wanting more. Excellent unique flavor combinations in all their dishes. Pleasant ambiance, but not a lot of tables so allow plenty of time for a craft cocktail or two at their gorgeous bar. This place has quickly become one of our favorite places in Appleton. Located in College Ave, just outside of the downtown, it is in an old Elks Club building. The food is amazing. They have a great selection of burgers and sandwiches and frequently have off menu options as well. They have a great selection of craft beers on tap, as well as proseco. I was very unimpressed with the management and food I had today. They sat our party in the dark part of the dining room and it was very hard to read the menu. When I asked them to turn the lights up a little to match the rest of the room, I was told by the manager that they wouldn't do it because they rec'd a "Golden Fork Award" for their ambiance!!! Finally they agreed to move us to a different table with better lighting. BUT, when I started eating my burger, I found that they only put one meat patty on the bun. The menu said 2 patties, and my friend had the same burger and he had 2 patties on his sandwich. It seems to me that this was retaliation for complaining about the lighting. No golden fork service for me, and I guess they thought maybe they could get away with it, and I wouldn't notice with the poor lighting...! They must be going broke if they have to cheat on the meat on your sandwich !?!? read more

First time at Mill City Public House, and certainly not my last. I ordered the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger. Was it delicious? Delicious doesn't do it justice. The buns were pillow soft, yet crispy to a boot, maintaining structural integrity while supporting juicy patties. The patties I might add, being made of Japan's finest export, Wagyu beef, were full of flavor. One might say they could taste the aroma of the Japanese cud. The bacon was also a hit outta the park. Yum yum, nuff said. It's bacon! My two gripes: the pepper jam and peanut butter came across as an afterthought. Essentially, what I got was a burger with bacon and a hint of peanut butter here and pepper jam there. Lastly, the fries. The fries, while delicious, were essentially McDonalds meets Louisiana. You get it? McDonalds Cajun fries. Very good, but I'm not really one for shoe string fries or McDonalds. Next time I intend to get the Bacon Jam Burger! I'll let you know how that goes!-- C.
