I feel a little guilty coming here, but I 'm cheating on Mr. Frosty's tonight by coming to try Milk N Cookies out.
So I was a little hesitant to come here for a while, but right from even before this opened for business I had been thinking of trying Milk N Cookies. The name alone is alluring and kind of sultry. Milk N Cookies sounds like the kind of place where you would come home to some homemade baked goods after a day of playing outside as a child. Also, when they advertised that their ice cream would be infused with cereal, that only added to the intrigue. I finally bit the bullet tonight because this would give me something quick before I attend a workshop later.
So the interior of the place doesn't really look like much, but it does feel much bigger inside than when you looking in from the outside. The location also kind of works against it because it is right next to where all the fine dining of South Norwalk is located, and I have already seen one store like this close down that was located around the corner. In fact, that ice cream shop was attended by a Netflix cast one time I went. Knowing that past, this makes me worried for this place's future as well as I never really see much in the way of customers inside.
If it's quality you are worried about however, then rest assured that you have nothing to worry about. This is actually a really good place to get ice cream if you prefer to stay away from the harbor or need to really catch that train at the nearby South Norwalk station. They have many different kinds of cookies you can choose from, and there are plenty of cereals you can have mixed into your ice cream. You can have this in a cup, a milkshake, and I forget the third option you can have the cereal mixed in.
I wanted to try both a cookie and their ice cream, so I picked the Cookie Monster for my cookie (C is for cookie after all) and a cup of chocolate ice cream infused with Reese's Puffs, topped with Teddy Grahams and a chocolate drizzle. Let me tell you that this idea is genius! A cereal-infused ice cream is not what would come to mind for a dessert, but it is quite innovative and works like a charm! The cookie you're given is served pretty warm, and you definitely get a classic cookie taste in the center of the Cookie Monster cookie.
Tip: Scoop a bit of ice cream onto your cookie and eat away! That warm, comforting feeling when you bite into your treat that way is next level! Thank me later!
I do prefer eating ice cream out by the water, but I still think this is a cute little place, and I will gladly come back! read more
