First visit to this somewhat small but jammed packed store filled with pretty much any Italian product you can think of! Impressive. Cases filled with delectable choices: Italian meats and cheeses veggies, salads, olives and more! Plenty of pasta choices. The fresh homemade mozzarella is amazingly fantastic, creamy yet firm enough texture which melts on the taste buds. I would return just for that. Chicken Parm and eggplant grinders were delicious: generous portions with just the right amounts of cheese and sauce and the bread was excellent. Don't go here too famished as there are so many delicious options you may just end up ordering everything! A bit costly, but I have no qualms about paying a bit more for quality and this was definitely quality. read more

I feel like I'm on Arthur Ave in the Bronx. Place is absolutely legit. Great staff that are quick to converse about food, sports bets or anything else you would want to discuss. Bread, meats, prepared food all cooked to perfection. The deli is awesome. Try the "De Parma style" sandwich on a wedge. You will not be disappointed...unless you prefer salads...In which case pick one out of the cooler and have them add some chicken or something on top. Well stocked imported retail from San Marzano tomatoes, Prosciutto Di Parma, pasta, porcini mushroom paste, sharp cheeses, espresso, sardines, amaretti cookies, broad variety of nougat, Baci boxes, Nutella, Arborio rice, SAN Pelligrino, etc. On to the prepared foods: many types of olives, broccoli Di rabe, roasted peppers, whole artichokes, imported meats, fresh mozzarella in every size, soup, lasagna, arancini, long hots, and my favorite fresh Teranova bread from the Bronx. I was so excited to eat an eggplant wedge. Not very good! Sadly the best part of the sandwich was the jarred red peppers. if possible the breaded eggplant was both dry and greasy at the same time. Bread was stale without any sauce, tomatoes were as expected this time of year, anemic and tasteless, Winter bulk produce (better choice to leave off the sandwich). Spent all of my adult life living in NY, 2 miles from Arthur Ave in the Bronx, so when I moved up here I had a high bar and minimal expectations for an Italian deli. This place blew me away. The sandwiches, eggplant parm, dried meats - the spicy soppressata is a must every time, it melts in your mouth - I can't recommend this place enough. Clam sauce, gnocchi, fresh mozz ... all amazing. Love that they're open Sunday's too - sometimes you need a cutlet wedge on a Sunday! Will be a staple for me for sure. read more

Got sandwiches here on a Sunday and can't wait to go back to try the prepared food. Always need your local Italian market and I think Angelo's will be ours! Would go back for some things. Some of the food is good some is not worth any money. I would go back for the Arancini (fried rice balls) filled with Mozzarella and homemade marinara (which is delicious). Everything else is lackluster. The meatballs are dry and flavorless and their lasagna is disgusting. read more

Update : hope the owners read this because I am not coming from a malicious place just a honest one. This was my favorite place and I am sure it can make a turn around. I bought food Sunday and it tasted old. Especially the fried mozzarella. The sausage and peppers was EXTREMELY unappealing with the busted casings just sitting amidst the peppers and onions. The broccoli rabe and sausage pasta was soaked in a clam tasting broth which means the food is old. The escarole was decent but Monday night upon return to my fridge the escarole had gone rotten. Please check the dates and freshness. I have been to your location many times with no problem. This is completely not cool. read more

Holy Canoli... Gotta say this place is a gold mine. I came in for a lunch sammy after a co-worker recommended it. Lou greeted and helped me out at the counter as soon as I came in. I let him know it was my first time there and he couldn't have been more helpful. They run the full gamut of Italian delicacies, both prepared and packaged. There are delicious looking dried meats all over and balls of regular and smoke mozz(which they make in-house everyday) that were excruciating to resist. All of the above would've been void if my lunch didn't deliver though. Oh, it absolutely brought it. Lou pointed out the menu and recommended the fried chicken on a grinder that came with roasted peppers, mozz, and I added some grilled zucchini. The zucchini is one of about 30 extra items that they have behind glass that you can throw onto any of the sandwiches(Lou pointed that out, what a guy...). The sandwich is huge but not sloppy. I'll probably save some for tonight. The whole thing was an even 9 bucks, which is on the verge of 'pricey' for a lunch sandwich, but given the fresh ingredients, the great service, and my leftovers for later it's really more of deal than anything. A really fast, delicious, and pleasant experience. Dare I say, best sandwich in Norwalk? Yes, I dare say. I'll be back soon for sure. read more

As good as you can get when it comes to a deli. This is a place you can come and get a great sandwich while you make arrangements for them to cater your next big event. Great options for quick meals/healthy food/antipasti/meats and sausages. Make sure you don't wait till closing time for a sandwich because their rolls/subs will be gone.........that's how you know the sandwiches are good. Al and Jack are two great guys who never stop working so if catering is on your mind, ask for them because you can relax knowing they will not disappoint. A & S catered my wedding in July 2009. Albert (the owner) was AWESOME. He really paid attention to details, and worked with us the whole way through the planning process. He kept in touch and stayed on top of everything. He also organized virtually all of the other vendors that we would need-- tables, silverware, linens, beer/wine/soda, the wedding cake (A & S uses DiMare)-- which was a huge load off our minds. The servers the day of were also extremely attentive and took care of everything from start to finish. The food, of course, was great-- we got many compliments on it. I would highly recommend A & S for any event, large or small, that requires catering. Albert made the planning as stress-free as possible-- AND no detail was overlooked! Okay, I'll stop gushing now. It looked like a great Italian spot with hanging meats and cheeses. A full display of some really good take home items. As it was a Friday, I decided to order an eggplant parm wedge with some marinara and hot peppers. Service was friendly and fairly quick. Prices as expected here in Fairfield County. Got into the truck and headed to a nice place to park and eat. Eggplant and sauce were good. But this Italian deli put pickled jalapenos on the dang thing. I would have expected hot cherry peppers. I would be happy with Italian long hots. But a Mexican food condiment on an Italian eggplant wedge? You have to be kidding me. That is sad and not a way to treat a sandwich... read more

Legitimate Italian Deli. Great sandwiches and all sorts of crazy antipasti concoctions to try out. You can find frozen pasta dishes and little Italian novelties here and there. This place gets two starts because they have decent food. This place doesn't get five stars because their employees NEVER wear gloves. On numerous occasions I have seen them handle money, put food in their mouth, using cleaning chemicals and go right to making sandwiches with their bear hands. Frankly, it is absolutely disgusting that this is allowed. They should be either fined or shut down by the health department. read more
