This is a small little cafe tucked on Orchard Street, so not very visible from the main road. It caters to the large apartment complexes that have opened on West Ave. I have never seen it to be busy, and it is more of a coffee shop with some sandwiches and desserts. If you want to enjoy some quiet time while sipping coffee, this is a nice place to hang out at. read more

Wow my friend had a service animal because she has a disability and they were awful to her. Told her to stand by the door. I was so embarrassed for her. So mean. So rude. What happened to the kind owners. read more

This coffee shop vibe is super inviting! They offer a small bites menu with delicious toasts and breakfast sandwiches as well as local baked good items. They serve local Norwalk (Strigo) coffee and offer specialty coffee menu items and rotating options. A favorite is their iced maple bourbon latte. This cafe also offers a unique menu especially around matchas and coffee alternatives (like mushroom-based adaptogenic drinks) with a lot of options to choose from! There is street parking, wifi, tables to work at and outside seating on a nice day! read more

Quiet, peaceful and cozy. If you're avoiding caffeine, I'd highly recommend the Golden Milk Latte. It's delicious!

I'm on break this week and was looking for a new coffee spot and Allora was great! Highly recommend popping in! I found them on Instagram and was highly motivated to drive to Norwalk and get some of their pretty drinks. I decided on a hot golden milk latte and an iced butterfly pea tea. Monica, one of the workers, was so kind and chatted with me for quite a while. She recommended I add lavender to my iced drink which was a smart move. I got two drinks because I wanted to try more than one and am not in the area often. I ended up taking my iced drink to go. Allora also has fresh pastries and baked goods that rotate throughout the day. I really enjoyed this quaint little spot. The decor is super cute and the staff is so kind, welcoming, and friendly. That makes a HUGE difference! I'll be back for sure read more

Not sure why they put honey on the sausage egg breakfast sandwich. Sausage was overcooked ... it came with some very non-descript corn chips, again, not sure why. The cook/server had me come up to the counter to get my sandwich .... I was the only one here ... read more

I was visiting a friend who just moved to the area. We walked to Allora for a late breakfast. Many hot drinks to choose from. She got an espresso. I got a green tea. We also grabbed 3 different pastries to share. Everything looked so good! The workers heated up the pastries and brought them over to the table for us. They also got us utensils and brought a napkin dispenser over for us! The napkin dispenser was cute and comical...see the pic! I dont know what the pocket pastry was exactly. Similar to an empañada, but filled with onions and chicken, I think. They were so good. The cinnamon roll was delicious. But my favorite was the blueberry scone. Just crispy and almondy, with juicy blueberries. The queches also looked delicious, but we already had too much! What a cute little place with tables to sit and talk. The employees were very helpful and friendly. If I lived nearby, I'd stop here often! read more

Allora has been sold, the new owners are making many important upgrades. One of the biggest is brining in a proper roaster, Strigo. They are serving gelato now, and have cold brew on tap. Hours are improving with Sunday openings and later nights. Give them a try! read more

Lovely space and lovely staff unfortunately the cold brew fell short for me. It was a little too acidic for me but I very much like the fact that they have several plant based milk options! read more

I gave the one star for ambiance. First time my husband and I thought we would try it and last. Wanted a simple decaf coffee with lots of milk. As I said three times to the young woman at the counter. Was told they don't have decaf coffee but she would make me one. What kind of milk she asked me ...three times. Three times I repeated regular cows milk. After waiting 5 minutes to order it , ten minutes to make it. I left with it on the road it tasted nasty. I finally opened the cup up and it was black !!! Black $6 for a small coffee I asked for that she charged me medium. Never again. Learn how to listen and make real coffre read more

Food was very good, I got this breakfast sandwich with hot honey and it was to die for. I also got an oat milk latte which was good too but a little pricey, it ended up being $8.50 for a large flavored latte with oat milk so the price I didn't love but everything else was great! Ambiance was cute too they have a grass wall that would be cute for pictures read more

Maple Bourbon lattes were amazing. Coffee was strong but not bitter. Really great coffees.

Amazing coffee! My husband and I randomly came across this place while driving and we were so impressed. I love. A good strong iced coffee that's not bitter/acidic. It tastes so smooth! Definitely will come again. They also included a cure little cookie on top. Also it's a very cute place read more

Where to begin.... everything was wrong about this place for me. 1. They use Elmhurst brand for Oat Milk which if you are serious about coffee at all you do not USE elmhurst which is watery and gross. 2. Their menu online for breakfast sandwiches sounds delicious sunny side eggs Italian sausage caper Mayo etc - when we arrived the menu in the store did not match AT ALL. I begrudgingly ordered the sausage and egg panini they had on the in store menu and the eggs came out HARD BOILED - !?!? What - how do you just change the style of eggs and not inform customers! My husband got cold brew which was pretty good. Advice to management make your menu online match the in cafe (you can't just spring hard boiled eggs on people) and get serious about your oat milk choices. Never coming here again read more

After living in NYC for 12 years and having the best coffee in the world regularly, I can say that Allora's coffee is delicious. Solid medium body, extremely smooth with great flavor and balance. Just as good or better than most spots in the city, and arguably better than other high quality spots like Cafe Grumpy, Bluestone Lane, etc. Prices do seem a bit high - it is a little strange to pay premium NYC prices so far outside of the city. But I do think the quality is there, especially with the food (the egg / sausage + egg paninis are spectacular). Overall I'm just blown away by the negative comments here. These sound like people who wouldn't know good coffee if it splashed them in the face. read more

I pride myself in finding the best coffee shops wherever I go, and when I stumbled upon Allora, I was thoroughly impressed! First off, the customer service was out of this world! I instantly felt comfortable and welcomed as soon as I stepped through the door. The staff really knows their products, they were able to fully explain every single drink on the menu! I've been to this shop a few times and tried something new every time, and they never disappoint! Everything has been absolutely delicious! If you happen to come across this gem of a coffee shop, do yourself a favor and stop in! read more

The place has excellent food and drinks, and all is priced well considering how fresh and local the ingredients used are. I used to spend hours there and it really felt like a second home. The ambience was perfect but I would not recommend working there. Bad business." was there for under two months before I was left off the schedule for over a week with no pay, ghosted by the owner of the place, then let go with no explanation. Unfortunate I can't go back there. Loved the sausage egg and pesto sandwich, but I'd rather not support a business who treated me like trash. read more

Doing an updated review! I've mentioned that Allora has been very inconsistent with their coffees. However, I've gone back twice since then and the drink that I love, nocciola, has been made perfectly both times. Prices are still very high. $16 for two iced coffees, but it was a special treat. I like the progress that they've made and will be back. read more

Stopped here while we were waiting for our dog over at VCA. Excellent Turkish Latte and the Iced Matcha Latte. Friendly staff, Covid safe and quality and tasty drinks. It's part of a nice outdoor restaurant mall so plenty of outdoor seating - benches and tables/chairs so we just sat outside with our other dog and drank our coffee. read more

I am loathe to write a negative review of any place, but after witnessing 4 separate bad experiences, I feel I must. The owner, who has never been rude to me, has treated some of my friends horribly. Peppered throughout her tirades at them were comments such as," Go to a coffee shop in Darien", " You are banned from this place" and something about staying in Rowayton. These women were regulars and great tippers. Perhaps I escaped her wrath because I don't look well-heeled. Too much caffeine? read more

I have frequented this local shop regularly since it first opened three years ago under different management. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, it was very convenient and any visit I made was enjoyable. Since the new owner, Monica, took over two years ago, the level for customer service has nose dived. You never know when she is going to snap at you. She is not friendly, is often rude and clearly very partial to whom she wants to serve in her shop. Start your morning right and enjoy your coffee elsewhere. read more

I absolutely love this coffee shop! The atmosphere is amazing, everything on the menu is to die for & the shop owner Monica are her team are fountains of knowledge when it comes to all things coffee. I often work here remotely and have seen how truly passionate, driven, and kind Monica is. She pours her heart and soul into each cup! If you haven't been here I highly recommend you come check them out, it will definitely be a new favorite spot. read more

Great location, amazing atmosphere. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Both the food and drinks were delicious and extremely unique! I loved that they offered a "healthy" section of their menu. They offer non-coffee options as well. I went with my friend, who isn't a fan of coffee. She ordered the cold brew citrus honey tea and it was extremely refreshing. She loved it! Open and relaxing space to catch up with friends, study, or just hang out. Definitely my new go-to coffee spot! read more

Five (million) stars for the Chai - 4 stars overall because have to admit I don't really like the coffee. But, for whatever reason, their iced Chai with oat milk is the one for me. My husband loves it too - we get it at least once a week when we're in the area...and sometimes when we're not, because we like it. We should probably cut back. The people are always friendly, the chai is always good. It's not too sweet, and for me, the right amount of spice, not too weak. I've tried (chai'd) a handful of chais in surrounding areas and this one my fave - the spice and flavor more robust than others without tasting too syrupy. I've also tried dirty chais, and I stick with the original here (prob bc I don't like the coffee), though my husband enjoys the dirty chai. I may have had it hot once...but I've forgotten most anything other than the iced chai with oat milk. My husband likes the vegan raspberry shortcake thingy too. Give it a chai? (I'm sorry) read more

Disappointing. I went one week after they first opened. Ordered an iced chai tea latte. There is only one size which is a small-mediumish sized cup. Cup was full of 75-80% ice and basically tasted like weak chai/mostly milk. My drink was finished in 4 sips. It also cost $5! A few days ago I gave them a try again and asked for a chai with vanilla and light on the ice. There were only a few ice cubes so it literally was warm and it tasted like burnt coffee and sour milk! Since I added vanilla it cost $6!!! That's more than starbucks. I literally live right above this place, but it's so overpriced and tastes terrible that I will instead continue my morning routine of sitting through the long Starbucks line because I know I won't be disappointed and the flavor is always consistent. read more

Very excited to have Allora in the neighborhood! I have lived here for 5+ years and I'm thrilled we finally have a great coffee shop! I stopped by today and ordered an iced latte and the iced matcha latte with honey- both were made perfectly. Looking forward to my next visit and trying the rest of the menu! read more

The woman who works here (she says she's the owner...) is rude and cold. She was so rude that I stopped coming here for several months. This morning on good faith I decided to give it another try. She was the same, with the same rude tone. Besides, they charge over $8 for a matcha, which is unheard of, even in this area. The matcha tasted terrible and gave me stomach pains. I won't be going back. read more

So many coffee shops have turned into mid day clubs. The music is loud and intolerable (cough Starbucks) and it kills the joy of just sitting down and enjoying a cup of coffee. Allora is a gem. It's cozy with tasteful music at a sensible level, impeccably decorated, and the coffee is good. It also helps that the owner is down to earth and you can tell she takes pride in her shop. 10/10 would recommend. read more
