I was visiting a friend who just moved to the area. We walked to Allora for a late breakfast. Many hot drinks to choose from. She got an espresso. I got a green tea. We also grabbed 3 different pastries to share. Everything looked so good! The workers heated up the pastries and brought them over to the table for us. They also got us utensils and brought a napkin dispenser over for us! The napkin dispenser was cute and comical...see the pic! I dont know what the pocket pastry was exactly. Similar to an empañada, but filled with onions and chicken, I think. They were so good. The cinnamon roll was delicious. But my favorite was the blueberry scone. Just crispy and almondy, with juicy blueberries. The queches also looked delicious, but we already had too much! What a cute little place with tables to sit and talk. I'm on break this week and was looking for a new coffee spot and Allora was great! Highly recommend popping in! I found them on Instagram and was highly motivated to drive to Norwalk and get some of their pretty drinks. I decided on a hot golden milk latte and an iced butterfly pea tea. Monica, one of the workers, was so kind and chatted with me for quite a while. She recommended I add lavender to my iced drink which was a smart move. I got two drinks because I wanted to try more than one and am not in the area often. I ended up taking my iced drink to go. Allora also has fresh pastries and baked goods that rotate throughout the day. I really enjoyed this quaint little spot. The decor is super cute and the staff is so kind, welcoming, and friendly. I also got an oat milk latte which was good too but a little pricey, it ended up being $8.50 for a large flavored latte with oat milk so the price I didn't love but everything else was great! Where to begin.... everything was wrong about this place for me. 1. They use Elmhurst brand for Oat Milk which if you are serious about coffee at all you do not USE elmhurst which is watery and gross. 2. Their menu online for breakfast sandwiches sounds delicious sunny side eggs Italian sausage caper Mayo etc - when we arrived the menu in the store did not match AT ALL. I begrudgingly ordered the sausage and egg panini they had on the in store menu and the eggs came out HARD BOILED - !?!? What - how do you just change the style of eggs and not inform customers! My husband got cold brew which was pretty good. Advice to management make your menu online match the in cafe (you can't just spring hard boiled eggs on people) and get serious about your oat milk choices. Never coming here again read more

After living in NYC for 12 years and having the best coffee in the world regularly, I can say that Allora's coffee is delicious. Solid medium body, extremely smooth with great flavor and balance. Just as good or better than most spots in the city, and arguably better than other high quality spots like Cafe Grumpy, Bluestone Lane, etc. Prices do seem a bit high - it is a little strange to pay premium NYC prices so far outside of the city. But I do think the quality is there, especially with the food (the egg / sausage + egg paninis are spectacular). Overall I'm just blown away by the negative comments here. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, it was very convenient and any visit I made was enjoyable. Five (million) stars for the Chai - 4 stars overall because have to admit I don't really like the coffee. But, for whatever reason, their iced Chai with oat milk is the one for me. My husband loves it too - we get it at least once a week when we're in the area...and sometimes when we're not, because we like it. We should probably cut back. The people are always friendly, the chai is always good. It's not too sweet, and for me, the right amount of spice, not too weak. I've tried (chai'd) a handful of chais in surrounding areas and this one my fave - the spice and flavor more robust than others without tasting too syrupy. I've also tried dirty chais, and I stick with the original here (prob bc I don't like the coffee), though my husband enjoys the dirty chai. Disappointing. I went one week after they first opened. Ordered an iced chai tea latte. There is only one size which is a small-mediumish sized cup. Cup was full of 75-80% ice and basically tasted like weak chai/mostly milk. My drink was finished in 4 sips. It also cost $5! A few days ago I gave them a try again and asked for a chai with vanilla and light on the ice. There were only a few ice cubes so it literally was warm and it tasted like burnt coffee and sour milk! Since I added vanilla it cost $6!!! That's more than starbucks. I literally live right above this place, but it's so overpriced and tastes terrible that I will instead continue my morning routine of sitting through the long Starbucks line because I know I won't be disappointed and the flavor is always consistent. read more
