Small Iced Cherry Blossom Latte ($6.95) No cold foam as mentioned in their description....
    Melissa T.

Interior well decorated and clean. Lots of tables/seats available. Large parking lot. However, would not recommend to anyone nor would I come back. I ordered their Cherry blossom latte (espresso) and an Iced Americano. They initially made a mistake on my order and gave me the Matcha version. The staff was professional, apologized, and fixed my drink. There was no cold foam on the drink as advertised on their menu.....This was by far one of the worst coffee I've had. The Iced Americano was not bad, slightly worse than Starbucks.

Originally based out of Manhattan, NY, Gregorys has now landed in CT and I am here for it! They offer pastries, smoothies, sandwiches and other foods beyond coffee. Their classic coffee menu items like the Honey Badger (cold brew w/almond milk & honey) and the Hall & Oates (cold brew w/oat milk, cinnamon & vanilla) are two of my staple favorites. With fall approaching they now have some new items: Banana Breeze (iced lattes w/banana butter rum, turmeric & maple rum vegan cold foam), Banana Chai (chai latte w/ banana rum flavor), Pumpkin Spice Latte (house made pumpkin spice syrup & pumpkin puree), and a Smashing Pumpkin (pumpkin spice cold brew, also available blended). At Gregorys they also offer a rewards loyalty app which you can scan to pay and earn points that can be redeemed for coffee upgrades or items! The Darien location is a favorite, because it's right off the train station in the Commons plaza. The staff have always been helpful- suggesting favorites, and are quick for service. The atmosphere is modern, clean, and bright with plenty of work spots. Key Features: Right of Noroton train station, lots of parking in the common area, outdoor and indoor seating, Corn hole (during warm days!), order to go, a great loyalty rewards program, milk alternative and vegan options, rotating menu for seasonal items.

Interior during an autumn afternoon - The image shows the interior of Gregorys Coffee, with large windows allowing natural light to fill the space. Hanging plants are suspended from the ceiling, and there are various tables and chairs arranged throughout the area. The decor includes round mirrors on the walls and a modern, minimalist design with white walls and terrazzo flooring. Outside, trees and a sidewalk are visible through the windows.

ORIGIN: When this Darien location opened in October 2023, the original Manhattan shop was celebrating its' seventeenth anniversary. Gregorys (no apostrophe) was founded by Gregory and Shalaine Zamfotis, a husband and wife team, with initial support and inspiration provided by Gregory's father, a fast casual restauranteur based in NYC. CONCEPT: Gregorys was initially inspired by a perceived gap -- there were no exceptional and quick options for coffee in Manhattan. Gregorys strives to sell baked goods, prepared sandwiches, and beverages with an orientation towards (1) high quality (they roast their own coffee and bake their own pastries); (2) nutritional considerations (a professional nutritionist on the team guides product development); (3) provision of a wide range of plant-based (vegan) options (Gregory follows a plant-based diet himself). LOCATION: The Darien shop marks the 42nd location, with five sites in DC and the remaining scattered across the tri-state area (home of the Zamfotis family). It is positioned across the street from the Noroton Heights Station parking lot in the new Darien Commons. It is also a short and convenient swing off of I-95. An ideal location from multiple fronts! AMBIANCE: Gregorys stands independently at the entrance to the commons, and I dare say impressively, surrounded by a terrace, and festooned with lights. A large multi panel glass garage door was open, allowing the late afternoon air to swirl inside. With a prominent location and attractive appearance, it is impossible for Gregorys to go unnoticed by visitors. The interior is stunningly designed as well, with white marble cafe tables and black curved wood, wicker-backed chairs. A living room area with upholstered sofa and chairs invites relaxing lingering. Numerous windows, including a set of clearstory windows, guarantee streams of sunlight throughout the day. EXPERIENCE: Gregorys offers a more creative and unusual menu of beverages than national coffee shop chains, and I arrived with the intention to try Excuse You, a hot latte composed of Gregorys' Night Vision espresso, oat milk, and seasoned with both citrus and yuzu syrups. I asked for guidance at the order counter and was assured this was a good choice, however the person working beside him encouraged me to catch the seasonal Fall Oat Boy as it has been a local hit. It winds up this person was Gregory himself! The family lives nearby, and the fact that the founder and CEO was actively working alongside his employees reflects the level of care that is the foundation of the expanding business's success. The Fall Oat Boy was a unique alternative to the pumpkin spice lattes that herald the season in the North East. It is a flavorful mix of Night Vision espresso, oat milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and hazelnut and maple syrups. I was so glad to have been nudged to try it. I ordered the flavor-packed Vegan Bar to accompany it, knowing that this item is reportedly a favorite of Gregory's wife. House-made date syrup envelops and joins rolled oats, apples, coconut, apricot, and peanut butter, pairing beautifully with the recommended beverage. Curious as to how the egg sandwiches would compare to Starbucks, I also ordered the Deluxe -- egg, American cheese, and sliced turkey sausage links encased in a croissant. The croissant was warm, toasted in a small oven. The interior combination was deliciously seasoned. Before I left I shared with Gregory my positive impression. Although this location is an hour south of my home, I was happy to have learned about Gregorys and will look to visit locations in New York and DC in the course of my travels. TIPS: Gregorys roasts it's own coffee in Long Island City. Bags of beans (12 oz and 5 lb) can be purchased at shop, via subscription, as well as online. Each bag (12 oz around $14) can be ground in advance with three options (course, medium, and fine). With each bag a pair of glasses is donated. Don't have a Gregorys nearby yet and pining for their baked goods? Individual purchases of ten packs, as well as subscriptions, can be arranged through their website. Ceramic mugs and cups are in the works and will be available upon request. Open everyday, but closes at 6 PM.

I've always been curious to try Gregorys Coffee, so we visited our closest location at Darien Commons! It's such a nice place, and I could definitely see myself doing work here or even reading a book. We ordered their new refreshers and they were awesome!! I'm notoriously picky when it comes to drinks like this, and the strawberry hibiscus one is the first one I've ever really enjoyed!! These are a perfect pick-me-up with the warmer weather. The staff made the drinks very quickly too. I'll definitely be back for more!

A glass display case in a coffee shop showcases baked goods such as croissants, muffins, and cookies on the top shelf, with bottled beverages, including sparkling water and canned drinks, along with desserts like pudding and parfaits on the lower shelf. The background reveals large windows with a view of parked cars and a parking lot outside, and the interior features modern decor with a black and white color scheme.

This café is super cute There's windows everywhere so it feels super open and there's a lot of plans. That is very cute and hippie. The service is awesome and fast our favorite barista is great! The coffee is always very good and made to your liking and their pastries are excellent as well. It's a perfect spot to sit on your coffee or even bring your laptop and do some work.

    Non-vegan deluxe

Be careful if you are vegan / vegetarian - Gregory's has great vegan breakfast sandwiches, but this morning it took me biting into my Vegan Deluxe to realize it was not the vegan version! When I went back to get a new sandwich they told me they were out of them. I guess they just decided the original version with meat and cheese was a good enough substitute?

My favorite drink of the month

Excellent coffee, matcha, and services! Will definitely come back again and again:) I wish they open more locations in CT.

A small white round table holds two black coffee cups with lids, two paper food wrappers, and a smartphone. The cups have printed icons indicating hot beverages, and the wrappers are crumpled, suggesting recent use. The background includes a person wearing light-colored clothing and a textured floor surface, indicating an indoor cafe environment.

The space itself is beautiful--very minimal with white floors, high vaulted ceilings, and a really open feel. They have a retail wall on the left with some gorgeous ceremonial tea sets imported from Japan that I spent way too much time looking at. As for the drinks, you can tell they aren't cutting corners. They use ceremonial grade matcha from the Mizoguchi family (who apparently have 400 years of history in Kumamoto), and everything is organic. I tried two different vibes: * Golden Hour: This was a standout. It's a mix of coconut, turmeric, ginger, and some warming spices like nutmeg and cardamom. It had a nice little kick from the peppercorn. * Kokuta Hojita Latte: I got this with almond milk. The Japanese black sugar gives it a really deep, toasted sweetness that isn't cloying. The staff was super friendly and nailed the order. Also, side note: they have a modern touchless POS system, which made paying quick and easy. My only gripe--and it has nothing to do with the shop itself--was the seating. It's pretty limited to begin with (a sofa, some small tables, and one Japanese Ceremonial Table). Unfortunately, the "Zen" vibe was a bit ruined by someone hogging the entire ceremonial table with her laptop and books while other people were literally standing around waiting for a spot. Definitely not very zen behavior! Overall, it's a cool spot for a high-quality matcha fix. Just maybe don't expect to lounge for hours if it's busy.

I've been coming here maybe 2-3 times a season since they opened about 12 years ago, but sometimes even 2-3 times A DAY. This is one of the few cafes I can confidently say is innovative while staying true to their classics. The churros are still going strong many years later, but then they're also coming out with fresh seasonal flavors all the time. Some of the best flavors of coffees I've had are at this place: jasmine matcha, maple black walnut, a proper not-too-sweet autumn spice, pistachio rose cardamom, tres leches, etc. They were doing a horchata cold brew before anyone in the area, and their alfajores cookies remain tasty as ever. I always get the espresso drinks, but their drip is great too. Food is awesome, but I wish there were more savory vegetarian options at every cafe. Still, at least it's not the same boring breakfast burrito here; the sage and manchego egg and cheese on sourdough is pretty solid. The pastries and desserts always look and taste fantastic too. live in MD but visit my parents in Stamford often, and Lorca is the spot I always find myself going to first. Plus, there's plenty of space ever since they expanded years ago, so you can bring a book and people watch the busiest street in Stamford. The service is fast, courteous, and friendly. The past few times I've gone they've been pretty slammed. They were quick but seemed maybe one person down? If they're hiring, please work here! I know their winter drinks are going to be just as good, and the holiday season gets busy. I think I need to get another autumn spice latte before I hit the Amtrak.
