Terrific and snazzy Tazza (Espresso and Coffee) Cafe in Ridgefield is very quaint and very delicious. This cafe is modern. It has none of that 500-year old cigarette fumes have been seeping into the woodwork-type that you may find in Paris. Tazza Cafe is brilliant and squeaky clean, though not bright inside. Tables are for no more than 2 people (max!). But there are a few tables outside along Main Street and you might be able to snag an extra chair for a trio business meeting, or so. As has been noted, Tazza Cafe has lots of delectable sweets, baked goods, croissants, sandwiches, paninis, cookies, stuffed items, salads and Italian noisette biscotti to dunk in that Java! All the items are neatly (and I mean in rows :) ) displayed behind luminous glass. The items are not marked by name and price, which is a bit of a stumper for normal customers (I can tell by experience) - but in my book it's okay if they rotate items periodically or change their places depending on what is selling that week. Two gals were running the bar-high railed table: one was nocking out the orders and payments, the other was running the espresso machine. My order was a double Espresso and a sweet Linzer Tart (I always get them since my Grandmother used to spoil me with them). Although my espresso at Tazza Cafe only very barely reached a HALF (tiny) cup - it was strong. It was pungent. It had almost a kind of plum and barky flavor. It tasted thick & good. The coffee station however was a mismatch of space for local papers and news taking up the space for cream and milk and syrups (which was oddly missing). The interior fits the town of Ridgefield. Upper-scale. Suave. Lots of mirrors and glass and black surfaces. This is no riff-raff shop like out in Cali! At first I thought it may be a *chicks-preferred* type of puppy-pink peony-kale & baby food smoothie-type coffee shop, but NO there were groups of dudes languishing in chairs with cigarettes and lattes taking a break. Arrived at 9am and there were 8-9 customers. One thing: that entrance door is tough. Weak armed elderly customers with not much strength had trouble yanking it open from outside. Not a good experience Cappuccino had hardly anything in the cup. Went in at around 3p and wanted an Açaí bowl was told the kitchen closed at 2p. Does it take a chef to serve premade açaí bowls and chop up bananas, smear peanut butter and sprinkle granola? read more

I came here to grab some lunch with my family while we were visiting Ridgefield. The staff was super friendly and attentive! It was super crowded when we came in but by the time we sat down the lunch rush was dying down. For a coffee shop, they have a pretty extensive food menu and lots of stuff looked great. I opted to split a sandwich and a salad with my mom. The food was good! We did request for the sandwich to be heated up and the bread was super warm but the filling was cold which definitely gave it a weird sensation, but overall the food was good. I'd definitely come in again if ever in the area and check out the rest of their extensive menu. read more

If you can handle the crowds at times and the somewhat overpriced coffee, this place has much to offer. Service is usually friendly and efficient. The ambience is lively and casual. The food is quite delicious and they have a lot of 'grab and go' items in the case so if you're in a hurry, that's a big deal! I have been to I think every Tazza location and they are generally located where all the shops are which entails often difficult parking situations (especially in Ridgefield), but if I can get a spot, I tend to make it one of my go to stops whether it is to grab an ice coffee or a wrap to eat for lunch. Glad to have some Tazza options nearby - I'd go there any day over Starbucks! read more

Writer Friend and I were a bit early for a book event at the Ridgefield Library, so we went in search of coffee, being it was 8:30am and the bars weren't open yet. Tazza was a short walk up the street, and had everything we needed. It's a cute little shop with many varieties of coffee available, as well as baked goods. Social distancing and masks were enforced, coffee was hot, and Writer Friend got her chocolate fix satisfied. All in all, a great way to kill a little bit of time. read more

I really wanted to love this place, however my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered 2 salads and a smoothie. Servers were friendly, but they only gave me one salad and forgot the dressing... and it took a long about 20 mins to get my entire order when there were only 2 other customers in the store. It came to $35, which was on the expensive side, but that would have been ok for high quality ingredients. Unfortunately that was not the case... it reminded me of the grab and go salads at LaGuardia airport... rubbery chicken, browning avocado, squishy tomatoes, and apple slices with pieces of the core in it. The smoothie was overly sweet and I'm pretty sure it was just fruit juice blended with ice... no fresh or frozen fruit. Maybe there coffee is better. read more

Worked here for around one month a couple of years ago. The manager was horrible and made all of his new employees learn things on their own and when they didn't know what to do, he would aggressively criticize them not only in private but also in front of customers. Fired me with no reason and refused to tell me why I had been fired as a young 16 year old working my first job. Until today, used to walk there on a break from work to get the same protein shake I've gotten at least 20 times before. In the last month and a half. Each time I've paid $7.50. Today, I order, $10.00. I asked the girl and she said that's what it is. If you want to raise prices, I get it. But by over 33%?! One rainbow cookie that's the size of a golf ball is now $1.25? They should taste like a bite of Jesus's shoe for that price, and they were on the right path, but the shoe didn't belong to Jesus. I spend easily $50 a week there, some weeks upwards of $100. Or I was. No more. Urging everyone to look at what they are charging you, because it's not what they advertise for. I'm absolutely baffled How can you get away with raising prices by over $30%? I have been here a number of times and have been satisfied with their cafe lattes on most occasions. I usually get it to go but on the occasions we have sat in, it's a cute cozy atmosphere. A few couches, a mix of tables and chairs and an interesting mix of customers. There's always interesting conversation all around in case you are bored with your company I tried the tiramisu once and it wasn't the best. A little too sweet for my taste. read more

Randomly found ourselves in the area and needed a place to grab a bite to eat. Let me start by saying the cold brew coffee was really good, definitely recommend that. Another plus is they use actual grilled chicken - none of that pre grilled stuff you find at a lot of cafes / delis. On that note, the Cesar wrap was just okay. Not enough dressing, too much lettuce, and roasted red peppers? Who puts roasted red peppers on a Cesar wrap. Granted I should have ordered it without, but they put me on the spot when ordering and I just ordered the first thing that sounded good haha read more

I ordered salads to eat on the go and there were no forks. When I inquired the staff said they were out and that I should go across the street to poach forks from another restaurant. The food was good but the response of the staff was embarrassing. Bad service and decent food. read more

Really good coffee, plenty of caffine. They have monthly flavors, which I've found to be pretty good. I'm a big fan of the chai charger with skim and the lattes (though they could use a few more latte varieties like a certain chain does, particularly the seasonal ones!) The music is also pretty good in the place. The staff is pleasant and attentive. Food is good when you determine what is tasty and what is just, meh. I like to get work done there. They have wifi and enough seating to accomodate anyone looking to hang around. Now that the nice weather is here they have a few tables outside as well. I LOVE THIS CAFE!! The food and the drinks are great, but what really makes this cafe the best, is the girls behind the counter, that greet me with the warmest welcomes and the biggest smiles. It really helps sell the coffee. My personal favorite coffee is the Hawaiian Coconut. It is so tropical it makes me feel like I'm in Hawaii! Their "brew of the day" always changes, which shakes things up a bit, which is also great! I also love the timely manner at which my drinks are prepared, WAY faster than Starbucks. The people really create a personal feel when they serve me my coffee. I also witnessed them interacting with a "regular". They remembered their order to the tee, and knew their names!! If I could this negative stars, I would. First of all, the muffin I received was very dry and and burnt tasting, but I could get over that. I even came back over the weekend to give it another chance since its in such a convenient location, but once again, I was thoroughly disappointed. There's this big guy there (not sure if he's the owner or the manager), and while waiting in line, I noticed that as the younger employees (must be in high school) were trying do their jobs, he constantly pointed out everything they were doing wrong, reprimanding and embarrassing them in front of customers. Pretty bummed about my experience here, as my coworkers tend to talk it up quite a bit and I enjoy supporting local businesses. I walked in and wasn't greeted or welcomed by anyone, which was a little unusual. I walked up to the counter and I ordered a flavored coffee, which wound up being lukewarm - not to mention, they ran out midpour, so they filled it with non-flavored coffee instead of offering to brew fresh. When the girl behind the counter gave me my total, I handed over my debit card, to which I was stared at and told it's a "5 dollar minimum". I hurriedly looked for a sign but I couldn't find one that indicated that. It was a little embarrassing because I hardly ever carry cash, but I wound up having it and left. The coffee is mediocre - I say as I am begrudgingly drinking it and wishing I would have sprung for a latte. The selection of pastries and goodies was not as abundant as I'd hoped - most modern places I go to have different options (gluten free, vegan, dairy free, etc.) and many of the offerings were full-flavor and more suited for a decadent, rich taste. I was craving something sweet and light, but to no avail. I may return to try again, but this experience did not leave a great taste in my mouth. read more
