Unfortunately, the execution did not live up to the description. It ended up being extremely greasy, mushy, and surprisingly lacking flavor despite having so many ingredients. I kept expecting each bite to get better, but it never really did. It was one of those dishes that had a lot of potential but just missed the mark. My cold brew and breakfast came to $23.84 with tax, which felt a little expensive for a breakfast wrap and coffee. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the coffee because it was excellent. As for the food, I'd probably try something different next time. If the kitchen can match the quality of the coffee, this place could be a real standout.

I'm told that I can buy one cup of coffee and sit for 4 hours and read a book, I can sit for 4 hours and watch YouTube on my phone or iPad, or I can basically do all manner of reclusive things sitting by myself - but I am not allowed to sit and spend an hour or two writing on my laptop. Only the laptop is anti social, apparently. On days that I work from home, I like to get out of the house for a bit in the morning, enjoy a wonderful Kyoto cold brew and a coffee cake or Cinnamuff, and maybe get a second bite a bit later. And yes, get a bit of work done :) There are plenty of places in the area to go sit for hours and hours of work, so that is never my intent here, but to flat out ban laptops at all hours no matter how empty the store sure seems silly to me. I don't need to spend $15 to take my coffee back home. (I did once try emailing the owner to have a productive discussion on this but was ignored.)

I got extremely, violently sick for 2 weeks and shared everything with the restaurant so they could look into it and prevent other patrons from getting ill. Instead, they did not respond to my report and completely ignored it. I the reported them to the city inspector, who went to investigate them, and they did tracing of my case. 2. The first floor smells like sewage, and had been smelling like that for many months, if not close to a year. The city inspector told me that they notified the restaurant and the restaurant said they fixed the smell -- I went back in and it still smelled like sewage. So, the restaurant had flat out LIED to the investigator about the bathroom smell on the first floor. 3. The floor and chairs/ seats are dirty with stains. They absolutely need to clean way more. The safety, sanitation, and hygiene in this restaurant is one of the worst I've seen and experienced. If you value your life and health, avoid this place.

I recently visited this coffee shop and had a rather mixed experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the spiced chai, which was absolutely flavorful. However, my positive impression was marred by a few unfortunate incidents. Firstly, I noticed the price of the spiced chai on the menu did not match the amount charged on my receipt. This was a bit disappointing as I expected transparency in pricing. When I brought up the issue with the staff, they appeared to be a bit unsure of how to handle the situation, which left me feeling frustrated. Adding to my disappointment, there seemed to be a lack of efficiency in the service. Despite arriving before another customer who was behind me in line, they were served before I was. This small oversight contributed to a sense of dissatisfaction with the overall experience. In the end, while the spiced chai was undoubtedly a high point, the inconsistencies in addressing the issue and the discrepancy in serving order, left me less than pleased with my visit to this coffee shop. read more

This coffee place is charming with it's location right in the heart of a park. It gives you that NYC park coffee vibe. The customer service is a 5/5 they greet you with a warm smile and answer every question that you might have. Let's get to the coffee so I'm a guy that likes a good dark roasted expresso but this expresso is a bit on the sweeter side. I ordered a large pumpkin latte and honestly couldn't not really taste the expresso. I could only taste milk and the Syrup. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed because the cost of the coffee was around seven dollars and I'm assuming it's a bit more expensive because of the location they are in. Overall I would say try this place out and judge it for yourself. This was just based off of what I got I am sure their other options are great. Again great customer service! read more

I asked for an iced latte with vanilla and caramel, and it was delicious. I took my dog for a walk around the park and by the water while sipping my lovely latte. By the time I was done, I still needed a bit more of a pick-me-up and just asked for an espresso. It was so smooth and easy to drink! Modern Love roasts their own beans. I bought a house blend and another bag of beans. I also had a Black Cold Brew and it was definitely well above average and balanced for a coffee shop cold brew. The shop is nice. Service was reasonably efficient. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing on Sunday during Memorial Day weekend, which seemed to make the one person working somewhat anxious because she presumably wanted to get her weekend going. I obviously get that, but she could have been a touch less obvious about it as her 5 minute warning was a bit intense. In any event, I would definitely return. 4.25 Stars
