PROOF... of incompetence, racism or both. My wife is a regular customer and usually stops by for an espresso drink as we do not have machine at home. I typically get nothing as their drinks just don't hit the spot for me (average at best). Usually we park on the side of the street going straight into coffee shop and I wait in the car just in case it needs to be moved. She hops out, gets her drinks and the whole thing takes maybe 3-5 min. Today, I was chilling in the car waiting for her, but all over sudden realized that at least 5 people that placed the orders after her and were served before her (espresso drinks and all). Turns out that she ordered double espresso for her and half-caf/half-decaf for me. The staff couldn't execute the drinks or whatnot (they don't do decaf? don't know what double espresso is?) and just kept her waiting while servicing other customers. At some point I guess, they just stopped responding to her inquiries about the drinks. Finally a different person appeared on the shift, my wife got her money back, and we left. Why racist? Hm... Let me think, would the same thing happen to white American male? That is, waiting for 15 minutes for inept staff? The staff was probably new as my wife have not seen them before, but that is no excuse for the lack of basic decency. read more

A small Americano and a small decaf Americano for $13.75. Shame on me. The prices on the board are clearly not updated, as they quote (a range) of $5-5.50 for a small. There is a small cardboard sign lamenting inflation and cost increases, but for $15 (I tipped a buck for good measure) for two coffees, you can only get me once. Good luck with your business model. Recently moved to HP and love that this coffee shop is on the route I walk my dog. The staff are so nice! They offer your dog milk bone cookies, which is so cute. I got an iced latte both visits, and the taste is consistent. The espresso is nice and strong, despite the milk and ice. The everything bagel with cream cheese was chefs kiss. I felt the amount of cream cheese, while on the lighter side, was perfect. Not the giant globs you get at bagel shops. What really solidified this place and will make me a regular is that my dog knocked my latte over while I was getting up to grab my bagel. Half the container spilled. So of course I was mortified and sad about losing my coffee, but the guy who was working made me a new coffee and was so sweet about it. Love this place! read more

My first time here! I tried the lavender latte and it was nice and warm (not too hot so if you prefer hot you might have to ask for it). There's plenty of outdoor seating along the great lawn. Docked one star because the menu said $5.25 for a lavender latte but I was charged $.75 extra for the lavender. I didn't say anything bc I noticed it on my receipt while I was waiting for my drink on the other side of the kiosk. Docked another star because I asked for skim or 2% and got whole milk. Please charge what you have listed on your menu sheet and not sneak it in. And please give customer what they order. read more

Proof is THE place to get coffee in Habor Point. Before i get into how delicious their products are, let me say this: their prices reflect their quality. If you want half assed cheap coffee go across the street to the deli or any of the 2 star rated dunkin's in the area. The coffee at PROOF is certified organic AND sustainably sourced (something that is personally very important to me), part of proceeds are donated to mental health charities, they only hire locally (and, to my understanding, pay their workers a good wage), their pastries are from local bakeries/vendors, and their breakfast sandwhiches put places like starbucks/dunkin to shame. The first time i got a breakfast sandwhich from here i was literally drooling. i wish i could remember what i got!! But it was last year and i think it's no longer on their menu anyway! I've only been here a handful of times since i do not live in stamford full time, but it's a 3 min walk from my bf's apartment (where i sometimes WFH) and is the best midday pick-me-up a girl can ask for. My most recent visit i ordered an iced oat chai latte and some citrusy scone that was HUGE and to die for. I should've taken a picture but it's size was equivalent to like 2.5 starbucks scones!!! My man tried it when he got home and also loved it. The location is great, lots of dogs are around as it is in a park, right next to a beautiful fountain. Plenty of places to sit around there too! Only thing you may not find is a good parking spot LOL. But that's a stamford problem. The only sad thing i have to say is that they emailed me a 20% off code that i CAN'T USE bc i won't be back in stamford until two days after it expires :((( BIG SAD. They changed the food menu from the last time we were here back in May. Sandwiches are a bit more unique now. The veggie sandwich was good. I don't understand why all the egg sandwiches have mozz in them though. They don't have like a plain BEC but the food looks interesting. The latte was good. I hardly ever write reviews for anything. This is an awesome little spot, in a small park area in Stamford. Kinda reminds me of a place you would see in Manhattan, and it would make sense because PROOF has locations in the city as I found out. I stopped for a quick to go coffee and the guy who made it, Josh, wasn't just putting coffee in a travel mug for me, I could tell he liked what he was doing. He told me he's worked in a few local coffee shops over the last few years and told me about the different beans they use, totally over my head but the point is, they know their coffee. Best Coffee in Fairfield County! They're short staffed so the kitchen is closed and service can be slow but it's worth it. I always get sad when I finish my drink. It's in a park so bring your dog or just happily dog watch while you drink this amazing elixir. read more

Reviewer Chris J. nailed it. Lots of turnover here. Employees are friendly but some don't know how or still learning how to use the latte/cappuccino machine. It's disappointing trying to get a hot latte drink only to sip a lukewarm one. It's hit or miss. They're happy to make you a new one. I've recommended a thermometer to use in the in the milk frother cup so they don't have to guess if the milk is hot enough (Starbuck's uses a thermometer!). I go here out of convenience since I live across the street. I've had breakfast food here which is pretty good. The alternative is to walk a little further to Patisserie Salzburg which is consistently excellent. PCR will still get my business but could always improve. They have a captive audience! read more

As a bona fide coffee lover I am hard to please. I'd heard great things about Proof coffee so I expected it to be delicious. OMG. Seriously, this is THE BEST coffee I've had in my 40 years of coffee drinking. I usually like cream & sugar with coffee, but this Proof coffee is so amazing, flavorful & smooth I chose to go without any sweetener for my second cup. That's how I will drink it from now on (only Proof coffee, though). I had the Swiss decaf. It had delightful, subtle hints of chocolate, earthy notes, lots of depth to the flavor and a natural sweetness. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Proof Coffee Roasters is an excellent addition to the Harbor Point. It is a great place to grab a cup and enjoy it sitting at the park or walking around the harbor. The coffee and espresso drinks are excellent! I also enjoy their roasted beans for sale. I have a preference for the light roasted coffee beans from Guatemala, but there are medium and dark roast available too. The manger, Josh and staff are very knowledge, friendly and consistently prepare excellent espresso drinks. Just great coffee!!! read more
