Great place to satisfy your sweet tooth! Small store will some seating, yet clean and organized. Fast service, desserts and drinks were good. A bit pricey for my wallet, but a great place to splurge.
Seasonal cake review - I had it on my radar to come here in the fall just to try the pumpkin coffee cake cake. I ordered a slice. They're already individually boxed so they're ready to be sold. When I was told the price I almost hesitated not to buy it - $12 for what I could already tell was going to be a fairly small slice of cake. Sure enough it just wasn't worth it. Aside from feeling like I didn't get my moneys worth for the size, it was way too sweet for me! Not something I'd return for.
The service was excruciatingly slow but the soft serve was to die for. The cereal milk soft serve was absolutely delicious. Loved the flavor of it and then with the cereal it all worked so well. Would definitely return and get this again

Arrived here for a sweet treat break with my colleague around 4 pm on Thursday! It wasn't busy at all; we were ordering immediately. The store itself is so cute with its pink neon lights, merchandise and decor. I ordered their DIY pint and got the following: cereal milk, double chocolate, fudge, and chocolate crumb. It was splendid! Lots of sweetness packed into a pint. The elements of sugar added sweetness, decadence, and richness, especially with the dark chocolate. Sweet memories made!
The pie!!! It's so good and I would love to go back for more of it. It's so expensive though. I enjoyed the cereal milk soft serve, though it does have a bit of a grittiness to it. I remember trying other soft serve flavors at Momofuku noodle bar and thinking they were excellent. The staff member I interacted with was super welcoming and friendly. The interior seemed clean. I absolutely plan to return.
I came here since I was having dinner nearby on a Tuesday night. They have a Tropicana collab soft serve called Orange Squeeze so I wanted to try it out. The presentation was very cute with the red and white striped straw. The flavor was supposed to taste like orange creamsicle. It was definitely creamy like an orange creamsicle but I wish there was more orange flavor. I do feel like it's less sugary than the cereal milk soft serve which I'm not a fan of. It was a decent summer treat but I probably would not go out of my way to come back for it.

The employee (who I later learned was the manager) told me I needed to place the order through Uber Eats or GrubHub. Fine. I followed his instructions, only to find there was no option to add the birthday message, despite him assuring me there would be. When I called back to clarify, he promised he made a note to include it. Fast forward to me trekking across NYC during a snowstorm from Roosevelt Island, no less, because their delivery option wasn't available when I needed it before my daughter's party. After all that, the cake wasn't even ready and had nothing written on it. And to make matters worse? When I later called another Milk Bar location, they confirmed everything the manager told me was false. I could have placed my order over the phone from the start exactly what I asked to do in the first place. I'm a single mom with no support, just trying to make my daughter's first birthday special. I don't have the luxury of extra time, extra help, or extra energy to waste on careless mistakes like this. The last thing I needed was to be misled and lied to because the manager was too lazy to take my order over the phone as he should have. The only reason this review isn't zero stars is because of the kind and helpful women working the cashier. They saw the mess I was dealing with and genuinely tried to fix it by writing the birthday message themselves. I appreciated their effort, even though this was a mistake that should have never happened in the first place. The level of mismanagement, misinformation, and complete disregard for a paying customer's time is astonishing. It wasn't just a mistake it was blatant negligence from someone in charge. I expect better from a brand like Milk Bar. Do better. This is in response to the comment I received from management on 2/25/25: I appreciate your response, but I found it to be defensive and unprofessional. Rather than taking accountability or offering a genuine apology, you shifted blame onto me, overly justified your process, and implied that I was at fault for not providing certain details which I did provide. A more professional approach would have focused on customer satisfaction, acknowledged the miscommunication, and ensured a smoother process moving forward. Also, minimizing the time I spent waiting as "a few extra minutes" is inaccurate it took much longer, and the writing was clearly not done by a professional. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers. That said I appreciate your offer to rectify this and will keep it in mind.

This location hosts a small interior, with barely any room for a line. Accent lighting and black subway tile along the front counter maintain a chic vibe. A short, narrow counter for indoor indulgence is pressed against the dessert-collaged left wall, while swooshes of bright pink and branded neon lighting fixtures pop against the black-and-white walls. The kitchen area is a labyrinth of tightly packed carts and appliances. Contemporary pop plays moderately loudly throughout the space. I arrived this past weekend to satisfy a mid-afternoon sweet tooth, finding myself in a queue behind a surprising number of patrons. Unfortunately, the service was slow and unprofessional. One employee snapped at customers, while another sat to the side indifferently taking a personal call. Once I finally was able to order, I opted for the Greatest Hits combo: Cereal Milk Soft Serve w/ Cornflake Crunch, a Compost Cookie, 3 B'Day Truffles, and a slice of Milk Bar Pie. The soft serve was immediately reminiscent of its namesake cereal milk but slightly sweeter with a pleasant, butterscotch finish. The cornflakes are a must, providing a nice crisp. Further, I appreciated that the staff scooped flakes into the bottom of the cup before pouring the soft serve, so I didn't have to ration them. The truffles had sugar cookie dough taste and texture, with extra birthday cake flavored oomph. The compost cookie has an oatmeal base loaded with chocolate chips, pretzels, potato chips, graham crackers, coffee, oats, and butterscotch. Mine had a perfectly soft and chewy texture; however, I felt the crazy combination of mix-ins was overkill because I couldn't pick out any individual one. Finally, the signature Milk bar pie was chewy and sweet, greasy with a honeylike residue (like less flaky baklava). I echo some of the comments that Milk Bar errs on the overly sweet side. I'm a huge sweet tooth, but I still found myself parched halfway into my feast. The $23 charge for my items admitted small-to-tiny items resonated more with a sit-down meal than a takeout dessert. Nonetheless, I firmly believe that Milk Bar is a novelty worth trying at least once -- but definitely opt for a location other than this one.
Milk Bar soft serve is quite good! I'd give it 3.5 stars because I feel the portion is small for the price but they are the original cereal milk ice cream, and it's very good! Pretty disappointing that the cookies are prepackaged and not fresh. We tried the compost cookie, the peanut butter chocolate chip, confetti, and the chocolate chip. They were all overly sweet. The confetti cookie was virtually inedible it was so sweet. Service was quick and the bakery itself was cute but these cookies missed the mark completely. read more

The milk bar pie reminded me of gooey butter cake, but with a bit more crunch. I enjoyed the texture of the oat cookie crust on the milk bar pie. The corn cookie was pretty good too, it reminded me of corn bread. The workers were a bit apathetic but that's ok, I was just looking to pick up pastries. read more

Totally a 5 star spot! I love Christina Tosi's unique ideas and nostalgic sweet treats. I've had a few things from Milk Bar and everything has been top notch. The Milk Bar Pie formally known as Crack Pie is phenomenal. It's sweet, rich and gooey - an absolute must try dessert! Birthday cake flavored items are the best and Milk Bar B'day Truffles are excellent! The flavor is spot on. These are delicious pop-able little treats - oh sooo good! Cookies are tough to beat. Milk Bar has some of the tastiest cookies around. The Fruity Marshmallow cookie is straight up a bowl of Fruity Pebbles in the form of a cookie. The Cornflake Chocolate Chip Marshmallow cookie is a fan favorite for good reason. Crunchy Cornflakes and chocolate chips throughout the marshmallowy cookie, no words to describe how good this cookie is. Last but certainly not least, the Cereal Milk soft serve.. just WOW! So creative and executed perfectly! This tastes exactly like what you want it to. Growing up, cereal was everything! This ice cream totally takes me back to that time. Great location not too far from the Museum of Natural History as we had a sweet tooth that needed to be satiated. Last time I ate the Milk Bar Pie 6 years ago it was called crack pie so I was definitely embarrassed asking if they had crack pie on the menu and was then told they changed the name lol. So ask for Milk Bar Pie! It's delicious as I remember. Iced coffee with oat milk paired well with it too. read more

If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, this is the place to do it. The establishment is very attractive: lots of lights and colors in the small space they have. Kudos to them for being creative and resourceful. It looks like somewhere that could trend easily on TikTok. The workers were very kind and I noticed a small statement on their counter regarding their sensitivity towards previous menu item names and I really admired their accountability. There's a lot of initiative and integrity here. I ordered the cereal milk soft serve cup with corn flakes for about $8. Initially, the soft serve is pretty tough to get through with the spoon but it's not necessarily a resistant toughness: it's more like ensuring that the soft serve doesn't melt away the second you pick it up. After a minute or so, you get this beautiful texture that allows your spoon to glide across the cup and it's one of the most satisfying things I've ever experienced. The soft serve had a very reserved sweetness and the corn flakes were also a nice touch. On their own, the corn flakes were pretty hard to chew but their flavor was almost worth the effort. As constituents, the soft serve and the corn flakes were great but I felt that they didn't exactly agree with each other the best that they could. Maybe some small tweaks in the recipe can improve that, but as it is it's still very worth the purchase. Overall, if you're looking for a sweet and frosty treat, Milk Bar seems to stand out in the ice cream market. read more

I love Christina Tosi's cakes, but I have to echo and emphasize others' comments about the atrocious service at this location. They completely messed up my order and gave me someone else's cake that looked like it had been sitting around for days. I ordered a red velvet cheesecake for Valentine's Day. When I went to pick it up at the store, two girls sat behind the counter chatting - no acknowledgement whatsoever of the fact that a customer was in their store. When I finally got their attention, I told them I had a pick-up order and gave them my name. One girl hurriedly rummaged through a few bags and handed one to me without confirming the order number or even my name. I looked inside and saw that it was a red velvet cheesecake, so I left, assuming it was my order. When I got home, I realized that this was NOT my cake. For one, it said "Happy Birthday Dad!" on it (this was, to reiterate, a cake I bought for my wife for Valentine's Day). On top of that, the cake looked like it had seen much better days. The toppings were crushed and broken, the cake was completely shifted off the base to the edge of the box, and the bottom layers were deformed. This was not a fresh cake... I don't know when this person's dad's birthday was, but it sure as hell wasn't in February. I ended up putting this cake in the garbage where it belongs. I'm all for giving my wife unique gifts for Valentine's Day, but dysentery is not on that list. read more

We are in the middle of a heatwave. Milk Bar to the rescue! Soft serve cereal with lots of crunch to the rescue. Oops. We forgot to get a present for grandmother's BD tomorrow. Canister of amazing Milk Bar cookies to the rescue. Yeah. Outrageous prices. But the temperatures are outrageous too. So we enjoyed slurping their soft serve while walking to Central Park as darkness was falling. Still 83 degrees. We ate all our soft serves with smiles. Good heat wave antidote. I got the cereal milk soft serve ($6.50) with cornflake crunch topping and a slice of crack pie ($6). Way overpriced for what you get, but it was something I wanted to try since this place is so hyped up. The soft serve is just the right amount of sweetness and when eaten with the cornflakes, tastes nutty and slightly salty. The crack pie just tastes like copious amounts of butter and sugar on top of an oat-based crust, nothing mind-blowing. Would get the soft serve again, but not the crack pie. read more

Milk Bar is one of those special New York spots that you should definitely visit because you won't find it everywhere. So whether you're a native New Yorker, native Jersey girl (right here), or a tourist, you should stop in. What do I recommend? Skip the compost cookie! It will confuse your mouth and while that can be good, it didn't float my boat. The birthday cake truffles are excellent and you should get box if you can Say yes to the not-so-secret menu! Definitely anything that is strawberry lemon flavored. You will not regret it. I will say something a little controversial: cereal milk is a little overrated. I would give it a try but definitely mixed in the cereal bits. My friends and I ordered the sampler so I would recommend trying that if you can't decide. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews but this was a bad experience. I paid $24.50 for a $7 3" thin slice of milk bar pie and a $16 build your own pint. I was disappointed because I barely got a quarter of ice cream in the pint for $16. I feel ripped off. The quality is very low for such a high price point. It tastes too sweet for my preference. I do not recommend this place because I feel it is overpriced and has unsophisticated flavors for the price. The taste is just too sweet, and I can't justify the price. I prefer Coldstone and Baskin Robins over this, but try another ice cream place if you want something fancier. Do yourself a favor and please don't waste your money. You can get a McFlurry and pie at McDonald's if you want something overly sweet for a fraction of the cost. I guess you're just paying for the Milk Bar label because I don't understand the hype. Oh and the service was unfriendly and rude. The lady did not make any eye contact and had the coldest tone- nothing sweet about her whatsoever. read more
