Worst manicure of my life. Early on I almost felt like walking out before she finished, but I've never done that so I just sat and put up with it. Got acrylics and right off the bat she stuck nails that are way too narrow for my real nails on. There are gaps on either side of my actual nails. Normally the tech will try a few different nails to find the right size, but she didn't take the time to do that at all. I hadn't had a manicure in a while and she didn't even push my cuticles back before slapping acrylic powder on top of them. She told me that cuticles are only pushed back for regular manicures - who the fuck in the history of ever has paid for both a regular manicure AND a full acrylic set at the same time??? And yes other nail techs in the past have taken a minute to push my cuticles back before adding acrylic. After this I had to tell her to add more acrylic to my right index finger, which had a fake nail stuck to it so much narrower than my real nailbed that after filing it looked like a chicken talon. Other nails she left the acrylic really thick and did not grind it down to be flush with my finger, so I had to ask her to fix this too. I watched a ton of other bad nail work and bit my tongue, but I did mention the worst things so that I could try to have at least a semi decent set of nails after $60+. My nail polish was still not totally opaque after two coats, she complained about me asking for a third. She actually had the NERVE TO COMPLAIN that I was asking her to fix things and that she wanted to get home. Do you think I like sitting here for 2 hours while you fix your bad work either??? She blamed the third coat of polish for why my nails were SO uneven and lumpy, a couple of them even fanned out at the ends. Yuck. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and before I even went home I had to stop at Longs to buy a nail file to try to make the sides of my nails look more straight. Still ugly but less so. And to top it off, less than 2 weeks later, 3 of the nails have come off, so I went to buy nail glue to try to get a few more days out of them. So not only did I waste about $60 on the worst nails of my life, I also paid extra money to fix them outside of the salon. I went in and they told me to come back at a certain time because I'm guessing the lady who does pedicures was busy with another customer. Hey Ladies, let me introduce you to my favorite Nail Salon, Mileys Nails! I had an appointment at 10am today for a gel full set manicure and a spa pedicure. Both were superb! First, was my spa pedicure: Upon entering Mileys Nails, I was greeted by ALL spa employees. How sweet! I told them my name and appointment, and one of the sweet lady's made my water and chair ready. I immediately sat down and was ready to be pampered! A few places that I've been to, even when I called and made an appointment, I had to wait, whether it be 10 minutes, that's still unacceptable to me. So I was very glad I was seen immediately! Once I hit that chair, I turned on the massage and already felt as if I was in heaven. I did not get the name of the lady who did my pedicure but she was nothing less than perfect. She did my cuticle cutting perfect, filing perfect, and everything else P-E-R-F-E-C-T!! She took her time on everything, and was so patient. I didn't mind being in that chair for an hour, she was awesome. Even though I'm ticklish on my feet, and I was fidgeting, she still scrubbed it down super clean! However, The best part was the massage. From my kneecaps to the tip of my hairy toes! She was wonderful. She used tiger balm on my feet and let it sit to relieve muscles, and then she mixed it with a really great lotion and started the rub down. Not the kind of rub down for a minute, but a constant light pressure rub down for at least 30 minutes! I wanted to fall asleep but I couldn't because my 2 baby daddy's were on Netflix and I couldn't help but watch them in G.I Joe Retaliation. Yes, they even had my favorite movie on! After the cleaning of my feet and massage, she went on to painting my toes. Lemme tell ya, she was so precise with her work, she was taking her time making sure that the paint was even and had enough coat. Awesome lady, Awesome... Now, to the Manicure: After my pedicure in heaven, I scooted my booty to get my nails done by Angela. I introduced myself to her and told her what I wanted to do with my nails, and she is such a great listener! So when the explaining was over, she did her magic. Started off with the cleaning of my nails which by the way, she did perfectly and then started to place the extensions. I really hate it when nail techs place the extension crooked after applying basically super glue to my nails, and then try to file it down to make it look straight, but Angela did the placement very well. She is very professional and I can't stress that enough. After my extensions went on, she applied the gel and I washed my hands to get ready for the painting! I painted my nails the same color as my toes, kind of a Spring Aqua color. Very cute. Then I added a chevron print and a feather on each hand. (Btw, reviews say that there is no upcharge for designs, but when I went to pay at the end, she mentioned it was $8. No biggie for me, but just to let u gals know) Angela did such an amazing job with the paint. She too made sure the paint was even and that everything was symmetrical to each other. She occasionally asked if I was okay and if everything looked alright. Very careful lady. When the finished product was over, I was so happy! My toes and nails were more than what I expected and I felt so good! I got 3 compliments in 1 hour! All good! The price, service and atmosphere is all good. My feet have been neglected lately and i called on a Sunday to walk-in for a pedicure. It doesn't smell. You know what I'm talking about. Haha. Although i didn't see them washing the foot bath, she used a new blade to remove calluses and the work station seemed organized. I tried not to think too much about all that and let her work. They spoke in their language, but it didn't make me uncomfortable. She was quiet and really did a great job. My feet are smooth and back to normal. My BF stated they were way better than more expensive places. Parking was an issue but we managed. I forgot to ask where to park for my next visit. Bonus? I've been going to Miley's nails for some time now. Their service has always been the better ones on the island but today I received THE BEST deluxe pedicure from Ann! From start to finish, she made the experience memorable. Ann pays close attention to detail & she puts in work to make sure your feet is nice & clean! Her massages are to DIE for! I was on my feet all weekend and was praying for a good pedicure. When my service was finished, I was blown away. I was so relaxed & my toes looked so pretty. The lady who did my nails is a scam. I came in seeing that a mani pedi would be $32. She then asked me that I could do gel not telling me of the price difference, making it $68. I wanted my manicure to be a specific way- matte french fade. She did a terrible job, and was making excuses that I should do fake nails to make it easier, but I don't want to ruin my nails! I told her during the manicure nicely to not cut my cuticles, but guess what- she ignored me! I kept showing her a picture of how I wanted the nails to look, and she couldn't do it- which really should've been busy. She ended up scratching and cutting the skin around my nails, I had a sore after on my ring finger which stung after she applied alcohol. I've been so nice to her throughout the entire treatment, and she ignored my requests like the idiot she is. I will be calling them demanding for a refund on the manicure. She managed to not mess up my toes, though she did cut my cuticles on that. I gracefully tipped her $9, less than 15%, but I shouldn't have given her anything at all. Maybe a penny. I came here for the first time just for a gel nail removal after a month of good use but ended up leaving with a new gel manicure. They have so many cute color options, I couldn't resist, especially after a long day at work. It would have been $10 for just the removal but they included the removal with the standard $35 gel manicure. Yay! Annie was super nice and she even played Serendipity on Netflix for me to watch! You definitely get what you pay for at this salon. I paid about $67 after tax and tip for a spa pedi and gel manicure. The experience overall wasn't anything special but they got the job done. The whole salon environment was kind've awkward and quiet because they had a TV but didn't turn it on and the nail tecs were just talking amongst themselves with very little interaction with there customers. I live about 5 minutes away walking distance and always just walk in and get seated within 5-10 minutes. But if you don't want to wait you should call in advance to see if they have an available opening because there were only 3 technicians every time I went as the salon itself is fairly small. After coming here a few times I wanted to write about my experience... The first time I came here I was very disappointed because I asked for a full set with a simple vertical stripe design but I could tell the technician wasn't very experienced because the lines were so messy, the paint was everywhere and she even cut my finger! I paid $65 just. for. my. nails. and I felt overcharged because on top of the horrid experience I wasn't anywhere close to satisfied with my nails. I thought I would never come back again, but I had some free time today and just walked over one more time and asked for a simple spa pedi with just a clear coat and an all over glitter gel mani because I thought to myself how can they mess this up right!? For the price that I paid I was satisfied with my service today and now I know that if I want some simple stuff that this is the place to go! The cleaning, scrub, massage and paint were all great to me, my second experience here was way better! My mani and pedi were both done by Tee and took about 1 hr and 15 minutes. This nail salon is an ideal place for "me time"!! I love the fact that its a small salon because I just hate going to crowded nail salons and sit next to people who talks very loud on their phones. The staff were very nice, they didn't talk much but it's okay because I was able to fully relax and read my book. The massage chairs are NEW and very comfortable. They have a huge flat screen TV and you can watch Netflix movies :) I think they did a good job with my pedicure. I really liked Miley's nails! It is an odd location, out in Kalihi, and parking is a bit hard to find. However, the staff is really friendly, they take their time, and they do a great job! I got a design on my toes which included large rhinestones, and they stayed glued on for a couple of weeks (even after several snorkeling and beach trips). The designs that they did on friend's gel nails were elaborate and well done. I recommend coming here if you want any cool designs or something fancy! The prices were also extremely reasonable. This is an overdue review for Miley's Nails and all I can say is that I'm so glad my friend recommended this place! I got married in Hawaii and needed a place to do mani/pedi for me and my bridesmaids. As busy as Miley was, she fit all of us into her schedule! Miley and her staff were very quick and very nice. Plus, they do their own nails and so you can really get some amazing ideas on what you can try out, if you're looking for something different. Well, that's exactly what I did! My bridesmaids were raving about the nail art on one of the staff members where they were covered in rhinestones...perfect for my wedding day! By request, the girls applied the nail art on me and it was done in no time! Not only do they produce quality work, but great professionalism and customer service. I've been to too many nail salons where the workers will constantly talk with one another in another language and never the customer. Nope, not here. They may ask a question or two to one another, but other than that, they are carrying wonderful conversations with their customers. My girls and I loved the staff!!! Their customer service is also top notch because I had a few rhinestones fall off my fingers and felt I did not want to deal with any possible mishaps on the day of my wedding. Miley took me in at the last minute to correct the mistake and not only did she remove them quickly, but she added some nice glitter art instead to really make my hands sparkle and stand out from the rest of my bridesmaids! These ladies ALWAYS take the best care of me and they have mainland pricing! The first time I came in, I was on crutches and they did everything to help me in and out the chair, assisted me to the sink, and even gave me a towel for my head to rest (they must have noticed how tired I was), and towels for arm rests during my manicure. Hospitality is at 100! I've walked in and made appointments and I have yet to have an issue. I found them a couple years ago when I lived in Kalihi, and though I have moved 3 times since then, I STILL only come here for my nail care. They are truly the best. I gave this place a go and I'm not going anywhere else for as long I'm here/near Honolulu! I can honestly say this was the best pedicure I've ever had. Beats anything from California and any place I've been too. Since I'm not really into Nail Art, I just got a single colored pedicure in OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark and Angela really took her time on me. I had a disappointing time just today at this salon, it was a waste of my time. I called yesterday to book an appointment for 5pm today so I can go after I finish work. I was running late so I called a few minutes before 5 to let them know Im running late but I should be there at 5:15. I got there right before 5:15 and was left waiting for 30 minutes. Finally I was told to pick a color then sit in the massage chair for another 10 minutes still with no service. I was trying to be patient but I had wasted enough of my time. Today was the first time I got the "Hollywood" done at another salon. It went very well! This was a last minute decision and I was DESPERATE! I was comfortable and trusted her from the start. I still figured that this visit would be as painful as my first ever wax because I kept putting it off. I love the new management! It really has improved so much from last I went there when it was formerly, Hula Nails. The girls are so sweet and nice. Love the spa pedicure for only $25! It even included a massage. Overall the experience was about 45 minutes. The girl I had scrubbed my legs really, really well and finished it off with lotion and foot massage. After the pedi, I asked if they could wax my eyebrows too. That service is $8. Total cost was $34.55. I'm a generous tipper, and I thought their service was 5 stars, so I tipped $15. Worst nail salon I have ever been to! First time here and never coming back. Strike 1: I went there on New Year's Eve around 2:30pm with my girlfriend, they told me they were busy and they were not taking anybody at the moment. I of course understand because I myself work in the service industry. I knew they would be swamped. They had asked me what kind of services we were looking for. I told her that I needed, Me: "two pedicures, one manicure and one acrylic gel set." Worker: "okay, so two manicures and one pedicure." Me: *Using finger gestures to count* "two pedicures, one manicure, and one acrylic gel set." Worker: "Okay, one pedicure, one manicure and one acrylic set." Me: *Angry voice and still using finger gestures to count* "TWO, TWO PEDICURES, ONE MANICURE, AND ONE ACRYLIC GEL SET. OKAY!?" -I never yelled at anyone in the customer service industry. I understand that sometimes things are out of control. This one of the two times, I have snapped at a worker. Like wtf? Was she not listening to me at all?? Strike 2: Anyway, fast forward... she told us to come back at 5:30 (with an appointment). We showed up right on the dot. There were three people in the chair. I don't mind waiting at all, as long as you communicate with what is going on. My girlfriend didn't get into the chair until 5:45 (no big deal), I understand it's busy. But just guess what time I got into my chair? 6:15! What is the purpose of making an appointment if I can't be serviced at that time? By that time, I was ready to snap. I held in because it was New Year's Eve, I mean I wouldn't want to be yelled at on New Year's Eve. Strike 3: Finally finished my pedicure around 6:45pm, which my friend had finished around 6:30. We sat on those chairs while they kept taking in walk-ins. WTF!? They don't have appointments! Finally around 6:55, they told me to go to the desk so I can get a my manicure. I had asked, "What about my friend? She's been waiting longer than me." So she tells us both to go to the desk. Nobody started doing my nails until 7:05 and that's when I completely lost it. I asked how much longer it was going to be, I mentioned that we have appointments and I also mentioned, Why in the world was this happening. All this lady could say was one "sorry" with a smile. She said she would be finished with mines in fifteen minutes. She finally started my manicure and ten minutes into my nails, my friend still hasn't started on her acrylic gels, which take longer. By that time, we were both late for our family dinners. We walked out of that place at 7:45pm. "You're out" strike: The other lady who messed up on asking for my service gave my friend discount and I didn't get anything. I'm not normally one to ask for comps, but if you messed up big time, I think we deserve something. And I still tipped them 20%. I hope they know they're missing out on some great tippers. "Never coming back" strike: They didn't even clean my nails well, with all the hang nails and all excess things they clean before they give you a manicure or pedicure. My nails were crooked. And my girlfriend's nails, had bumps on them. This place doesn't deserve any stars at all. But unfortunately, yelp won't let me add my review without one. read more

Before today, I would've rated Miley's a solid 4.5 stars...& no doubt, they still give THE BEST leg & foot massages I've had in Hawaii. But if you're getting any DESIGNS on top of that uber-fun pedi...just be careful about who's doing it. Clearly, the older lady with glasses is still learning how to make designs...and the best way to learn is by practicing. Unfortunately, Miley's is letting her practice on paying customers!! Boo. Moreover, she charged me $15 for a design that cost $5 a few months ago...& I had the same lady then, but someone else just did the design. Honestly, most of the toes look pretty good today, but she totally messed up the flower-designs on the big toes (ie the most visible part). Double-boo. And it kinda felt like she might've pulled one edge of my big toenail out by the root. Anyway, I'll definitely give Miley's another shot sometime, but they need to be more careful about the consistency of their work-product...it's bad practice to let this level of work walk out of your shop. read more
