I walked in, said hello, and waited about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging me or even letting me know there would be a wait. During that time, there were two nail techs working on one customer and another tech doing a pedicure. A regular customer walked in and was immediately greeted and told to hold on. Then another customer came in with what looked like a chipped nail. An employee came out from the back, greeted that customer, discussed what she needed, and took her straight back to fix her nail--all while I was still sitting there without a single acknowledgment. I understand appointments, regular clients, and quick fixes may take priority at times, but it takes only a few seconds to acknowledge someone waiting and let them know what's going on. Feeling completely ignored is what made me decide to leave. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Ample parking on the lot, when not too busy because it is located at the City Square Shopping Center. But lots of street parking too (metered). When I entered the salon, I was greeted with my technician (did not get her name), and seated at the pedicure chair right away. The pedicure was pretty fast (I don't cut my cuticles due to a medical condition) but her massage was pretty awesome and so was the massage chair. Afterwards I went to the manicure table and pretty standard manicure, I did let her cut cuticles this time. I did white gel polish on my hands and feet. Although I wished she pushed my cuticles down more and placed the polish closer towards the cuticles, but other than that, everything went well and the massage was awesome. They have 1 gender neutral restroom, the hair salon part is on the left side of the shop, and the whole salon area was pretty much neat. What I didn't like was one of the barber, sitting in the waiting area not greeting people that came in, then sat at his station with his foot on his table. Like WTH! I also noticed a few other things but I'm pretty sure most salons do it, because I used to work at a nail salon as well. Overall, I would go back if I needed my nails done ASAP. P.S. Ever since moving to Honolulu, I had struggled to find a reliable nail salon. I have a pincer nail…read moreon my left big toe (caused by wearing the wrong hiking shoes on a strenuous, 18-mile hike that I did in 2018). The mutated nail is managed by monthly pedicure appointments, meaning highly experienced nail techs. The Beauty Bar was the 3rd nail salon I tried out and I haven't had to go anywhere else. I've been coming for the last 3 months and continue to be very happy with the service and results. Not only is my pincer nail always treated and trimmed carefully and expertly, the pedicures are well done and last for over 4 weeks (just using regular polish, not gel). I haven't tried the Japanese gel manicure yet, but I'm waiting for a special occasion to make the splurge. There's only a couple of downsides: 1) the prices are very high and 2) the massages are too soft. For example, I've paid $4 or $5 for callous removal at other salons, but they charge $10 here. Otherwise, I have no other complaints. I love the ease of the online booking system. The salon is clean and has a very chill vibe.
