Zach's Pirates Booty
Max K.

I'm not usually a big cocktail drinker, but the Pirates Booty made by Zach is a dessert in a drink. Truly amazing experience at this great distillery and craft cocktail lounge accompanied by a friendly, passionate staff that has amazing customer service. From the exceptional above and beyond service, the comfortable laid back vibe to the unique and scrumptious drinks, this place has stolen my heart I've been back every weekend since the first time I came to get my fix of the Pirate's Booty and even try some samples on the house of their spirits, showing their generous and engaged hospitality. I even liked the Afternoon Tea when I tried a sip of someone else's, which is served with delicious blueberry scones.

We came here because we won tickets to a cocktail making class here and also a bottle of wine and tour of the distillery! Kai did such a phenomenal job and we wanted to give him a huge shout out. The class was so fun and informative. He made it really special for us and our two friends and it was a very special outting for us celebrating! We also got to celebrate the season and just enjoy our time out together. Mike High Spirits is fun and vibrant and always has great music and often like today they had live music! The drinks were perfect and unique and we always come here for a good time whether it's a prize we won or just walking by and visiting on a whim or a planned visit. It's always a delight and I highly recommend not just coming here but planning a tour as well! Please check out my Instagram if you follow along for a full thank you video with more info :)

I went in for a cocktail making class for Halloween and we made beetlejuice themed cocktails! This was hosted in their barrel room that they transform for special occasions/events. Super fun class and atmosphere!

Whiskey Tasting

We hosted a whiskey tasting for our board with Mile High Spirits and it was an incredible experience. One of the owners Wyn was our tour guide and did an excellent job - he explained a lot of the science behind making alcohol and answered a ton of questions from the whiskey aficionados in our group. They were very accommodating with letting us cater in food and bring in a live musician. Isaiah was our bartender and our crowd kept him busy making old fashions and specialty cocktails all night. The venue is very urban chic and authentic distillery with a great setup of low and high top tables, and decor. Our group was wowed by the overall experience! We will definitely be back for drinks and look forward to hosting an event with them in the future!

Staff was incredible! Very nice place with a beautiful outdoor patio. Great drinks & again, the staff was above & beyond great to us as we were from out of town for a few days. Strongly recommended.

Mile High Spirits was a great place for Crystal and I and our two friends to go into for a break from the heat and have a place to hang out together. They have games and fun art to look at and lots of good music from either a dj or live band. They have a hilarious vending machine you need to check out that we bought a couple things from. There are tons of photo ops for you and your friends. The drinks were pretty good deals and had some fun cocktail options. The people were incredibly friendly fun but professional. We definitely look forward to coming back here again soon! Ps this is an age 21 plus place.

It's always a fun time at Mile High Spirits. Yesterday was the first day I went when it wasn't a weekend and it looked so different. They have bingo every Thursday from 7-10pm with a DJ and it was popin! They are currently doing a outside pop up bar for the season on the weekends with fun drinks like spiced hot coco, appletinis, pop rocks shots, hot toddies and more! I recommend going if you are wanting to do something fun for the weekend! They do have a cover on the weekends after a certain time but it's worth it!

They do have their own distillery directly in back of the bar.

This is an amazing bar with great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable about the whiskeys they distill. They have a very large bar with lots of games and a huge back patio area with bags and covered seating area. If you haven't checked this out and you love whiskey in Denver this needs to be on your to do list.

The Summit and Denver Dry gins are divine

We did not expect to like this place as much as we did. Don't let the tiki bar facade fool you, this place knows spirits. The gin stood out to us the most, but their whiskies were scrumptious as well. We were so impressed by the gin, we had to buy two bottles of each, and the tequila was so unique, we had to get a bottle for a margarita loving friend. The outdoor space is chill and comfortable. I recommend doing a tasting during the day because this place gets lively at night, but if the party life is what you're looking for, you can spend the evening sipping and dancing on their patio.

Wheated bourbon $55

I loved this place but I also love alcohol so I guess I am extremely biased. We had 3 bourbons. We had the Fireside Single Barrel, Fireside Barrel share and a wheated bourbon. My favorite was the barrel share one. It had a complex flavor to it. I wanted a bottle but they were sold out. My friend thought the single barrel was the best, but they were also out of bottles. I ended up purchasing the wheated bourbon which wasn't bad for $55 dollars. The thing I loved the most about this place was our self proclaimed professional alcoholic server. He was super friendly, and helpful in explaining everything to us. We sat outside in a heated tent and the tables were socially distanced very well. - I would probably say this was one of the highlights of my Denver trip.

This local urban distillery remains one of my favorites in Denver. From the high-quality spirits to the incredible craft cocktails, it's always a great time. The knowledgeable staff will help guide you to your new favorite drink, and the indoor and outdoor spaces are open, comfortable, and welcoming. And they always have something happening. Charity events, silent discos, and tours dominate their calendar, so be sure to check out their website.

Great place in downtown Denver. Got the recommendation from a friend and happy I stopped by to check it out. They make their own special alcohols which makes the bar very unique! Came on a Saturday night. DJ doesn't come on till 10pm and doesn't get busy till 11pm. Came here for a night of dancing and felt like Mile High Spirits provides it. Very good size dance floor! Nice little outdoor area to cool off or chat with friends.

Top to bottom, left to right: caramel float, BlackBerry mist. Flight: chocolate doughnut bourbon, peach whiskey, aged rum.
Mariela B.

LET ME JUST GIVE YOU 2 WARNINGS: #1- the drinks are REALLY strong #2- i'm a lightweight currently drinking at high elevation. This place is neat in that they infuse their own spirits in all sorts of flavor combinations. Chocolate donut bourbon, caramel vodka, and cinnamon rum are just a few examples. My partner got the BlackBerry mist which was bourbon infused with blackberries. He described it as "sweet and fruit forward, smooth." I had the caramel float which was caramel infused vodka with rootbeer; it sounds just like it was except delicious and strong. I would like to focus on the flight we got of 3 spirits with 3/4 ounce pours. The aged rum had strong notes of vanilla. The peach whiskey had a strong fruit flavor, particularly on the nose. The chocolate donut bourbon was sweet and smooth, almost like a liqueur (or an actual donut). When I tried these, I expected to make a face of disgust but it never came because the flavors of all were so smooth even a baby could drink (DISCLAIMER: giving alcohol to your children is not funny and could result in your children being removed from your care. Please don't do it). Also, i'm writing this while still at this place and I may be feeling the results of their product. Happy Saturday!

Ask the Community - Mile High Spirits

Is there a coat check? I am going to their New Year's party but I don't want to loose my coat.

Hi Channing, we typically have coat check services available during the winter months and at larger events! We did have coat check for our NYE Party this year. Cheers!

Hi, I'm visiting from out of town and bought tickets for the New Year's Party. I have a "star real i.d." that's vertical and I also have a picture of my passport. Will I have issues getting in?

I would call them to double check.

Are any of there Vodka's gluten free? I have a wheat allergy & gluten issue. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Lam! All of our Vodka and Infusions are distilled from Corn and are 100% Gluten Free!

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

My friends and I tried a number of the signature cocktails and had a few hot toddys that were super good. I'm personally a big gin and soda fan and loved ther housemade tonic that was in their classic G&T. Did not try any of the food but the dawgs were definitely would be tempting if I was hungry. Loved the decor and the plants all up in the space. The space is a bit more dimly lit and I think of a reasonable volume for a date. Would love to come back and spend some more time here.

That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

Cozy spot for some classy bites and cocktails. I think I probably got off on the wrong foot when I asked for sparkling water instead of flat and found out it was $7 per personal mini bottle (and they don't have club soda). My first time encountering that in Denver in the last 14 years... The cocktail concept is cool: pick a classic, slightly updated, or super creative version from 5 categories (martini, old fashioned, sour, spritz, highball). The spicy mango sour (with mezcal) was awesome -- although I expected egg white on a sour. The martinis were ok... a bit of a let-down in today's collection of Denver martinis at other local spots (think anchovy, sour cream and onion, holy trinity, and old bay). The food was also hit or miss. We loved the cauliflower/potato Bravas with the slightly spicy sauce, as well as the croquettes and their sauce. The tuna crudo was super bland, which is disappointing for $19.
