So I've lived many years in Astoria Queens so my standard for Greek food is high. While the food was very good, the atmosphere cozy, I feel it could have been a lot better. For example, the house salad could have had some feta cheese on it. The waiter was very pleasant but struggled with our order and told us that he didn't speak English so it was a bit of a challenge.

I have been going here for years and it is one of the best restaurants in the area! The food is always incredibly fresh and delicious, no matter what you order. The owner is extremely kind and makes everyone feel welcome and at home. It feels like you are stepping into a relatives home and they are cooking you a home cooked meal. Whether you are looking for a place to grab lunch, a weekend dinner or a place to gather with friends, this is the place to be! Highly recommend!!

Food was excellent. Mediterranean seafood platter. Very tasty and full of variety. Nice atmosphere too, even the music was relaxing. Service was pleasant...they just need to get organized as a lot if people were quite frustrated with it. If they get that right I'll be back.

My sister, husband and I went here for lunch. It was slow getting in an order, but once we were able to do so, service was friendly and prompt and the food came out hot. The food was also good and reasonably priced. Everything we ordered was good - Greek meatballs, spanikopita and moussaka platters with side salads and lemon potatoes and a gyro platter with French fries and taziki sauce. We finished up with a semolina orange cake and a kataifi, which is a pastry made of shredded phylo dough with nuts, cinnamon and honey, and Greek and regular coffees - all very good. The decor is a nice blue, Aegean decor with relaxing music played in the background. Finally, a plus is that the restaurant is BYOB, so we brought a good Greek wine to complement the meal. I would return again.

Take out review. Had a nice little spread from Mikonos while staying in Bordentown last weekend. Not sure why, but they won't deliver to my home in Hamilton Square but they did deliver to Bordentown despite the fact that it is further away, so we opted to take advantage. I went with the Beftekia, which was the most underwhelming dish of the evening. Basically just a grilled hamburger patty, it was prepared and presented well, it's just...a hamburger patty. The lemon potatoes that accompanied were very good, though. They were much more lemony than many Greek restaurants prepare them, which is a big plus for me. My wife went with the small Liga Apo Ola, which is a combination platter that comes with moussaka, pastichio, spanakopita, dolmades and the aforementioned lemon potatoes. Luckily, she was willing to share, and everything was delicious, with the pasticho being the standout dish. We also shared a Grilled Octopus salad, which was absolutely delicious. The octopus was grilled perfectly, and the accompanying greens were tender and delicious. Finally, I wrapped up the meal with an order of Galagtobureko, which is an automatic for me whenever I eat Greek. Mikonos' version is more of a wrapped phylo-pastry version than I am accustomed to (I've normally had it as the custard layered over the phylo vs. being rolled in it), but it was no less delicious. All in all, this was an excellent meal. I wish they delivered to my house, I'd partake regularly. As it is, I'll have to make due with an occasional special treat.

Humble, authentic Greek food. The decor is cute & simple. Service was attentive & friendly. Food was authentic, tasty & a great value.

I love this place. My family and i think this is the best restaurant in the area by far! I would always recommend any of their lamb or beef dishes. Their potatoes usually come very tart (the best way)! Service is usually a little slower, but I believe it's a smaller place and makes up for it in charm. Love it here and will be coming back

Amazing Greek food, I'm a big fan of lamb & beef gyros but only if they're done right and they made it to perfection. Great tzatziki sauce and warm, soft pita bread! The Greek side salad was also great, fresh feta and all veggies were fresh with a nice crisp crunch! Definitely will come back when in the area!

Apps this time included cold dips and my favorite version of grape leaves. Meat dishes - especially lamp chops and blackened salmon were big winners. Carb cakes also crispy to perfection. Lemon potatoes were the all around favorite. Baklava was a treasured dessert and converted even my picky younger daughter over to Baklava (chocolate mousse also rich and delish). So glad we have had many great meals here and that Canal Street was such a nice place to have a weekend dinner with friends.

I mean how many times have you asked for a medium burger only to get it well done? Compliments to the chef on that alone but also on the Moussaka. Both the vegetable and classic Moussaka are standouts. Sooo delicious. Our server was excellent. Friendly, timly and wanted to please. It added to a perfect dinner. Reservations were honored. The restaurant wasn't full on Sunday night, but you never know...still better to have a reservation. And who dosen't love a byob!! Not sure why we haven't been here in a while but we will put it back on our top 5 local place to go. It checks every box.

When you walk in there is sort of a vestibule before the dining room, but it felt as if we had actually come in by the wrong door -- I'm still not sure. Either the front door is well hidden or the entrance is not very welcoming, and there was no one there to greet us. Once seated, however, the atmosphere was charming. We had some light trouble communicating with the staff. It wasn't at all clear who the three different people who visited our table were. The youngest one, in particular, spoke so fast and low that it was difficult to follow him, and even though the room was relatively quiet. The food made up for some of our difficulties. The cioppino, in particular, was excellent, even if it didn't contain exactly the items listed in the menu; it's the nature of the dish. Once we had our meals, everything was quite agreeable. The food was great; the rest of the experience kind of 'mid.' It seemed that if we were regulars, already acquainted with the idiosyncrasies of the place, we would have been more comfortable, but as first-timers it was all a bit discomfiting. I suppose would go back again, but it hasn't won it's way into a spot among my favorites.

So when I used to work in L'ville and could get Route 1 Diner delivered through Uber Eats it was a treat indeed. I often ordered the turkey Reuben, omelettes, BLTs, fish sandos, and quesadillas. All good but the actual standout here is the STEAK FRIES! They are fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. They're the best steak fries by far and possibly a top 3 restaurant fry of all time for me. Even by delivery they arrive crisp. I've since left that job near the diner but when I find myself in the area I can't help but stop in to get the fries. I was actually hesitant to do so at first - kinda like lifting the curtain back on Oz. But there's no trickery here - the waitstaff is friendly in person, the food is hot and fresh, and incredibly priced. This diner is such a gem and I am admittedly jealous of people who live nearby.
