The workman was very efficient, good price for job. They came soon after being contacted. I highly recommend them. read more

Mike took great care of my magic tub when needed and he is very kind and caring. I highly recommend him and his service. He is the best in the business. Spa Brokers recommended him for my older tub and he know exactly what to do to make it like new. He is amazing. Much appreciate everything about him and his service and expertise. Very pleased with phone being answered, politeness of Mike, and the turnaround time of assessing problem and getting back to me a quote. Also pleased that pool pump & bearings were installed within a week. And that Mike was here when he said he would be. Pump is running and I can't even hear it - purring like a kitten instead of squealing. Thank you, Mike. Highly recommend. Kathy D - Jensen read more

Recently had Mike's Pool & Spa do a rather complex pool light repair. Wasn't inexpensive, but Mike was very communicative throughout the project and upfront about the added expense my particular situation required. They were always on time, courteous and extremely professional when they were here. Once I received the final bill and questioned an item or two, Mike went into great detail as to why everything cost what it did. I highly recommend Mike's Pool & Spa. read more

I called Mike's a few weeks ago when my pool pump died, and of course it was the beginning of the pool season so everyone was super busy getting their pools ready for the summer. I spoke with Mike and he sorted me out with an appointment to get a quote and a follow up appointment for the work a few days later which he suggested I cancel should I not like the bid. This meant that I had the pump replaced within a week of calling up Mike's. Dan replaced the pump in about two hours. The bid was the same range as everyone else's and after Dan finished installing our new pump we were able to get in and swim a day or two later. Customer service from these guys was great! We're definitely going to be calling them back when the next thing goes wrong. read more

Reckless and flippant - AVOID and use a reputable provider that is helpful and not hurtful

Over the six years we've been customers, mostly, Mike leaves a bad taste about how much he charges for everything. And, he does nickel and dime every little thing compared to other pool services. So, whatever he quotes you for service, it does not include all the things he adds on. The most recent repair that he quoted me on was done for 1/2 the price by another pool service company and was done well. It was after I challenged Mike on how expensive the repair was that he asked me to leave. After six years of being a loyal customer, referring neighbors, etc. And, this was just a couple months after a mistake was made on our pool and him sharing with me that "he'd hate to lose a good customer". So, who knows what goes on in the mind of Mike. I think you can do better, receive high quality service and not have to be exasperated every time you get a repair bill. read more

We recently hired Mike's Pool Service to swap out our 15 year pool heater for a new one. We didn't go with the company that has serviced our pool for the past 28 years because they were only interested in replacing it with the highest performance, most expensive option. So I looked at Yelp reviews and called Mike's Pool. Dan came out promptly and clearly laid out our options. Since we don't heat our pool in the winter we don't need the highest performing heater. And since we no longer have a spa attached to the pool we don't need the biggest heater either. So right from the start the price was significantly lower than the price quoted by that other company. What truly impressed me was their process and follow through. Jenny, co-owner (Mike's wife), was on top of it and communicated expected delivery and installation dates. I had requested they not start too early in the morning since didn't want the noise to affect neighbors and they easily accommodated that request. As it turns out they were so quiet I didn't even hear them, and my office is just 15 feet from where they were working. Everyone was prompt, courteous and adjusted their schedule to meet our time constraint. They couldn't have done anything better. I am now requesting a quote from them to service our pool on a routine basis. read more

These people are the best. I used to call other services for my in-ground spa, and it was "hit or miss." Mike's pool takes an intellectual approach to listen and deeply think about he problem/solutuon, and they get it right the 1st time. I really like their service attitude. Mike, Dan, and Jenny are terrific. I'd highly recommend them! read more

Bought a new house in May. Called Mike to make sure they would continue managing the pool after we took ownership of the house. Mike agreed. 3 weeks after moving in I realized no one was coming to the house to do maintenance on the pool. I called and left a message. Mike called me back several days later and said they were too busy to take us on as customers. I told him about our previous conversation, which he did not recall. Then he said he'd speak to his colleague and call me back to figure it out. Never heard from him again. Awesome! read more

Hot air. I got hot air when I called to schedule a service. And then a dance. Neither receptionist could give me a solid answer about any question I had. And "Mike" was going to call me in the morning and then when I called them in the morning to catch him, I was told he'd have to call me in the afternoon. Then I was told he would call me after the route manager returned and when I asked when that would be I was given my 4th, I don't know. And they tried to tell me that they were busy because they are a small business. I'm a small business, I'm busy and I call new, potential clients back right away. My take is that if they are too busy for my call they are too busy to effectively manage my account. read more

This company is not trustworthy. I called for a first time service and they gave me a day and time to come and they cancelled at the last minute. Then owner, Mike, called and said they will set up another appointment and he will call me and I never heard back from him. read more

I forgot I had previously left a review of Mike's Pool & Spa. We are selling our home and will no longer need a pool service, but that is the only reason I can think of to not use this company. We have had Mike's maintain and upgrade our pool and spa for 7 years, and they are excellent. From the people who maintain the pool weekly, to the office folks, to the ability to talk directly with the highly knowledgeable owner and his staff, this company has consistently exceeded our discerning expectations. read more

I have only great things to say about Mike and his crew. I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews. In over ten years of service, I have felt completely attended to. I have an old relic of a pool. Kidney shaped, surrounded by grass, huge pain. Each and every technician has been awesome about my moving my lame pool cover manually to clean. Pool equipment requires A LOT of maintenance, and they are so good about fixing every little thing promptly, and with competence. Always making repairs as cost efficient as possible, fixing what I have instead of trying to up sell new replacement equipment. Communication has always been so good, they leave me notes weekly, and follow up with a phone call if they haven't heard from me about a repair-minor as well as major. Technicians are well trained, and new ones usually have a senior tech accompanying for at least the first few visits. Mike is very patient, calm, and knowledgeable, and it feels good to have the attention of the business owner. My understanding is, they are not the least expensive, however, I think you get what you pay for. My peace of mind is worth it. read more

Dan came over and replaced my pool sweep motor. he has 25 years of experience. I was pleased that he reviewed the entire system with me and showed me some issues I had that I was not aware of. very fast service. I was very happy. He started work at my house at 7 a.m. here is the issue, with them and all pool people. they are very busy in the summer time. read more

Very poor pool and customer service. Avoid this service and choose a more reputable establishment. Pool technicians do the bare minimum -- talk on phone and sit in car -- all while charging you the full amount of time. Simple requests and inquiries are met with extremely poor customer service. The also charge anywhere from 10-20 a week more than the others. Happy I changed to another service. read more

In contrast to the other reviewer I have only wonderful things to say about Mike's Pool and Spa service. I have been an extremely happy customer of Mike's for well over 10 years after going through at least four other pool services. Those other services provided patchy and unreliable maintenance resulting in my firing all of them for cause. Mike was recommended to me by a neighbor and in fact he works on a referral only basis. Mike personally manages his service, hand selects his help, and pays attention to detail unlike any other pool or spa service. He is readily available by phone to discuss any repair or maintenance issues. Weekly maintenance of my pool and spa has been consistently reliable for many years. Any repairs needed are done expertly and promptly. He also manages my solar heat and prepares the pool for winter and summer seasons as part of his monthly service. I cannot recommend Mike's Pool and Spa service any more highly. I cannot understand how anyone could have had such an opposite experience to my many years of happy service. He is more expensive than some but you get what you pay for. He is the best! jkg read more

If you look in Yelp for pools, hot tubs and spas you may find reviews of the YMCA, JCC or Frogs. You don't find very much to go on for equipment maintenance and repair. Called Mike's after frustration with previous service person who never liked to work too hard. Matt the technician from Mike's was skilled, reliable, knowledgeable and honest. The staff in the office are thoughtful and concerned about your issues. Mike's may not be the cheapest you can find but the price is worth the service. If you have an equipment issue or want maintenance this is the place. read more

For the life of me I cannot fathom the negative reviews about Mike's Pool Service. I have been a customer for several years and have had nothing but good experiences with Mike and his team. Weekly cleaning, filter and pump replacement, water issues - they were all dealt with professionally, promptly and fairly. Your pool is a fairly complex system and you want a pro running the team that services it. Mike is that guy. read more

Mike's is the best. Mike, Matt, Dan and Gary are very professional, reliable, thorough and thoughtful. They work hard and get things right the first time. They are efficient--I do not see any wasted time on my job. To confirm what another reviewer said, Mike always gives intelligent and well-researched answers to my questions and he is very generous with his time. I have worked with another pool service company, and they were not nearly as thorough and results-oriented as Mike's. I can't say enough good things about Mike's Pool and Spa. read more

After a visit by a technician- Dan- who was polite and helpful on the phone- and having over $1500 of repair work done and a cleaning, my husband called to arrange for another $1800 or so of work to be done. When he politely asked why there was still algae left on the pool after the cleaning the owner told him him they charged by the hour and ran out of time. He told us we'd have to pay another $105 to have it finished. As the conversation continued he then became very belligerent and rude and after getting angry hung up on my husband. My husband called him back and the owner was as rude as before, at one point telling my husband to 'go find someone else to get the work done'. When you are planning to spend several thousands of dollars with a company, are a new customer and are asking politely about what would comprise maybe ten extra minutes work most firms would offer immediately to take care of that next time- which we would of course have been fine with. We don't expect work for free but courtesy and professionalism from companies we employ- absolutely. We would never use this company again. read more
