Evan communicates clearly, shows up when promised, does the work he promises to do, and charges a fairly. His team like working for him, and he seems to treat them well. This is the pool company I would hire in Marin County. read more

We've been working w/ Evan (and his crew) for about four years now, we have our pool cleaned and maintained weekly in San Rafael. He's been absolutely the best to work with, he's very responsive (texts/calls when needed), manages a good crew and is just an overall chill, good guy! Evan installed a solar system to heat our pool in January 2022 that included roof panels, new energy efficient pump, pool filter and automated valve. I honestly didn't even get a second quote, because I know and trust that Evan wouldn't steer me wrong (or price gouge) and couldn't be happier with the results. We have never enjoyed the pool more, we can fine-tune the temperature to exactly what works best for us. Evan also went above and beyond and worked tirelessly to optimize our set up. Evan is a great example of a small business owner that cares about his clients, is willing to get his hands dirty, and brings years of experience and knowledge. If you are looking for a pool service, look no further than Evan and his crew. Evanly Pools is the way to go! Our current crew member, Victor, is top-notch. He's consistent, friendly and the pool looks great! During a recent routine service call, Victor was approached by my neighbor with a question (my neighbor is not currently an Evanly client) and Victor helped him troubleshoot a new pump that my neighbor had installed himself. Long-story short, pump issues were resolved with Victor's input because he's a kind, helpful person that takes pride in his profession. read more

Evan's been my pool guy for around a decade now. He doesn't just maintain, he also acted as my owner's representative on a pool remodel and made sure everything was done right as well as ensuring the pool was filled correctly and balanced expertly. We recently had a saltwater hot tub installed and he's been on top of that in an expert manner too. He's responsive to texts, his billing is always done at the beginning of the month and never has an error. He's made the process of running the pool effortless and easy. Hands down the best pool guy in Marin. read more

This company took care of my pool for 12 years. They were always available to fix any mechanical problems. The pool was serviced weekly and was always ready to use. Evan and his staff are experienced and have full knowledge of the equipment and software to manage all the systems and settings. I am confident that all his current customers and future customers will enjoy the same quality of service. read more

We've lived in Marin for 6 years now and in that time have tried 3 other pool service companies. I won't name names, but they were the usual suspects in this market, all big companies. We were lucky enough to find Evanly Pools at a time when they were taking on new clients. Evanly Pools is exactly what we were looking for -- great communication, consistent, honest and they take immense pride in their work. And to top it off , competitive pricing. We've had to fix a few things here and there and have been impressed with how little of headache it's been to maintain our equipment with Evanly Pools. Gone are the days of having to manage big company politics and process where we were treated as just another number. Evanly Pools is an example of a thriving small business who's owner and operator is actually in the field managing his customers needs, with the help of his professional team. Our pool has never looked and felt as good. Highly recommend Evanly Pools -- if you can get on their schedule do it! read more

Evenly serviced my pool for nearly a year...he promised he'll do certain things never did like clean drain hole etc. he always charged a late fee each month if you don't pay immediately (not 30 days)....worst he had a technician who didn't turn off the water from the hose limiter and water filled and filled over my pool cover...not sure how much water was wasted as I had to pump water from my pool cover for a day. I fire him after that paid him in full. Worst next month I got a water bill for $2200! In these days where water rationing is so acute...thinking of this waste made me write this review! read more

I used Evan from 2019 to today. I have never had a service company that caused me so much aggravation. Evan refused to give a service window and expected us to leave our gates unlocked all day. His guy would show up anywhere from first thing in the morning to late in the afternoon and there was no way to know when they were expected, so basically the whole day was about prepping (removing pool cover and then letting water evaporate and cool until they showed up) and waiting for them. Every pool day was a lost day of privacy, as you never knew when they would come through the unlocked gate. Then, on occasion, he randomly doesn't show up and doesn't bother to let us know. After preparing the pool for his visit yesterday, he never showed up. We have talked about this before, and he told me that "sometimes" they skip a day after a holiday. That's fine, but how about letting your customers know if you aren't going to show up? When I texted that I was aggravated at the inconvenience of having waited all day for him and I thought he should have sent a message that they were running a day late, he told me I was the problem. He then quit this morning without servicing the pool and without warning. We had a contract, which he refused to honor. He left my pool at risk because it was due for cleaning and he will not honor his commitment. I asked him to show up and service the pool one last time, as arranged, and we would part peacefully. Instead, he ghosted. From what I can tell in conversation, his worker's don't like him either. Be prepared for high turnover and strangers in your yard. Filter service did not go smoothly either, with missed timelines and sketchy answers. He signed me off with a snarky "good luck finding another pool cleaner.' Newsflash: it took me 10 minutes to find a new pool cleaner. They were here to inspect my pool within the hour, they come with strong references and they have no problem with my expectation that they communicate a reliable service window. I expected Evan to reply and deny responsibility, but it looks like he just asked another customer to wright a favorable review instead. That speaks for itself. read more

Evanly Pools maintained our pool for two years. I would NOT recommend them. Highly unprofessional, and deserving of a CSLB complaint. Our filter pump is fairly new and has worked perfectly since we purchased our home, except after filter cleanings by Evanly. Evan cleaned our pool filters last week, then our filter pump stopped working within a few days. The same thing happened immediately after one of his technicians cleaned our filters several months ago. When I mentioned this pattern to Evan and asked him to address it, he promptly fired us as a customer. He took no responsibility whatsoever, just walked away after 2 years of fully paid service leaving our system in disrepair, and blamed the customer (wrongly). Early in our relationship Evan also blamed me for failure of a very old booster / sweep pump we inherited from the previous homeowner, which was already at the end of its service life. Interesting way to treat a customer. Judging from a one-star review below, I anticipate he will write a long reply blaming me and the pump / timer settings I elected. In collaboration with Evan's employee (Hector) we determined proper pump / timer settings after a few months of experimentation with our system, optimizing smooth operation of our sweep and reducing electricity usage almost 50% (versus settings Evan wanted) while keeping our water very clean. Then we had no issues for a full year, until his employee left and Evan came to service our pool himself. The pool was in good shape, but Evan perhaps was having a bad day and sent me very disrespectful texts, which I ignored until I found my filter pump not working after Evan's filter cleaning. When I brought the issue to Evan he fired us immediately by email - no phone call, no transition, just walked away. Fortunately, I promptly found a minority-owned firm to take over, the pump was fixed with no hassle and minimal cost, and we are so happy to be done with Evan and his attitude. If you are intelligent and wish to operate your pool system efficiently, and prefer honest, competent answers about your system rather than attitude and bluster, Evanly Pools might not be a good choice. read more

Evan and his current staff (Victor) have been doing a wonderful and reliable job of servicing my pool in San Rafael. Victor shows up at just about the same time each week, and does a great job. A few years ago, Evan and Victor discovered that Marin Water starting using phosphate to reduce lead in the water. This was the cause of a number of algae blooms--algae love phosphate. Ever since, they've treated the pool with phosphate removal chemicals and the water is crystal clear. Because of the age of my pool, it has been challenging to keep everything in balance, but Evan and Victor keep at it until it is just right. read more

Evan or Hector (his employee) show up every time, on time, and have kept our pool running smoothly since we bought our house. Love the service we've gotten from evanly pools. We were previously using another pool company in Marin and our pool kept getting more and more yellow on the walls. Evan came in and in one week the pool was sparkling clean. He really does a good job checking all the chemicals, scrubbing the walls and making sure all the filters are clean. Thanks for the great service!! read more

Evanly Pools was the only spot maintenance service place in Marin I could find that even answer their phone! It was easy and affordable to schedule a regular spa maintenance program. They have excellent customer service and are knowledgable about spas. They even helped me troubleshoot when my spa stopped working the day before Christmas eve. I would recommend Evanly Pools to anyone!! read more

Evan was very friendly and quick. He came and gave a great estimate of what needed to be done with our pool. I felt the price was a bit steep, but will most likely go with him for regular service once I repair the pool. read more

3 years ago we changed from a larger company to Evanly Pools because a friend recommended them, and we had not been getting much for our money before. Wonderful service, contact and communication with Evan. Down the road Evanly Pools had to fix a pretty major leak of the pool into the concrete (60s Eichler type home), did it well and without contractors' price. They are always reliable and will show up if anything happens. I highly recommend. read more

I recently purchased a foreclosure home and the pool had been badly neglected, in fact we had no idea how deep it was or if anything worked . The spa was also in disrepair. I called Evan and he was out within a day, gave me an estimate which was very fair and when I accepted he started work less than 2 hours later knowing we were anxious to see what could be done. Our new pool is amazing, he did a great job cleaning it and brining it back to life. He also diagnosed the items that needed repair and will be starting that work next week. Evan was professional, timely, and reasonably priced. I had called another company before him and they took a week to get back to me and then left me a message to drain the pool myself before they would even give an estimate!!! Evans final cost was exactly as estimated and the work was better than I expected. Evan is our new pool guy for sure, I feel confident that he will be servicing it regularly and keeping everything looking great. I highly recommend him to anyone!!! read more

Evan has been an AMAZING Pool Technician, who has been keeping an eye on the pool at my rental in Novato. He rescued me when my pool pump went out, and did an amazing job . He winterizes our solar system, and monitors it for any issues or leaks. He even monitored the pool water level when our former tenants would not. I've been really happy with the work he has done for us on our pool, and am thrilled that he's going to be taking care of my pool with this our new tenant. read more

Before we got Evanly Pools Service it seemed like we were replacing equipment ALL the time. Evan is smart, efficient, responsible & reliable. We don't have a normal pool, it's like a natural lagoon but he has a way of keeping crystal clear even in winter. I highly recommend him & will be happy to talk to anyone who has additional question. I can be reached through Evan. read more

Evanly Pools - Great job as always Evan. - Pool Cleaners Near Me - San Rafael, California

We have used this service for over 7 years, and have been very happy with outcome. Perfect pool, friendly service, honest pricing and answers to all of our questions. With the heat over the past few weeks, I was worried about algae problems. Not a problem, if extra chlorine was needed, he added it. Still crystal clear. Very pleased. read more

Evan is the pool guy! Six foot plus, blonde hair, blue eyes, short shorts, extremely handsome . . . No, seriously, that's all true, but more importantly, he's proficient, timely, and a genuine nice guy that charges a fair rate for his work. My parents have used him for several years now as their pool guy, so I asked if he'd help me assess an old hot tub I'd been having trouble with. The next day, Evan was at my house getting dirty underneath the tub, accessing and testing to figure out the problem. Parts were ordered, and within a week Evan had reconfigured the guts (motor, pump, filter, blower) so that it works better than ever! And, it's easier to maintain, as he moved the filter to a position where even I can reach it and clean it without too much hassle. read more

Our pool could not have looked any worse when we moved into our new house. Now that we hired Evanly Pools it couldn't look any better. Evan does an amazing job and is very knowledgeable about his craft. He shows up consistently at the same time every week and is very professional. He tells you how to best operate your pool without spending a fortune. I highly recommend his services. read more

After buying a home with a pool, I quickly realized that pool ownership is amazing but also daunting. The pool, as it turns out, is like a child: needy, temperamental and in need of much care and attention. Unlike children, however, you can outsource all pool care to Evan. He is incredibly knowledgable about pools (20 years of experience!), and he comes every week to take care of our pool and hot tub. He is also willing to share his expertise with me, so I'm slowly learning the basics of pool care and maintenance. Evan is incredibly responsive and reliable. I'm pretty sure the "big name" pool companies will not text their clients at random hours of the day to answer questions about pool chemistry. Evan, on the other hand, always gets right back to me whenever I fire off questions about my pool or hot tub. Finally, but perhaps most importantly, Evan is a super nice guy. He engages my kids and patiently answers their 1000 questions as he works. My kids are so enamored of Evan that they named the robot pool sweep after him. Keep away from Evan (the robot) has replaced Marco Polo as our favorite pool game. Evan (the pool guy) is the best! read more
