This company is great. They truly understand customer service. They put in a new system with a nest thermostat for us last October and everything has been fine. We recently got a new router and and had to change passwords and connections on the Nest app. I managed to get the thermostat to connect to the internet, but couldn't figure out how to get the app to speak to the thermostat. Wow. The customer service continues to decline. My parents have been loyal customers for decades too and had a emergency on Tuesday night when their air conditioning stopped working in the middle of a heat wave. My mom called them and left a message that night. The next morning after receiving no call back she called again and explained that she and my dad were loyal customers and in desperate need of service. She even offered to pay double to accommodate any overtime charges. Not only did the man she spoke to refuse to help her he rudely mocked her and said they had "other loyal customers" already scheduled and couldn't come to her until a week from Friday. So let me begin by saying things started out great but ended terribly. Jose came to my home to install my Free NEST with LADWP. He was very upfront and told me that it may cost some money depending on what needed to be done so it may not be Free. He would tell me what the price was before he does anything. I said ok. He seemed nice and didn't really bother me. I was in a meeting with my co-worker at my house so I didn't want him to interfere. At the very end that is when things heated up and Jose was extremely rude to me. Like beyond rude. When it came time to sign at the end he told me it would be $50 because he replaced a wire. 1 wire is $50 are you kidding me? Mind you, he never told me that this extra wire was going to cost me. I told him exactly this. Jose went on to say, "I told you 20 times." I said, "No you didn't." He said yes I did. Just like I explained the nest to you 20 times. I said that is your job! OMG! I can not believe he talked to me that way. He should be fired. No one should ever be spoken to like the way he did. I just wanted him out of my home. So I wrote a check and said "thanks, have a nice day." Even though I wanted to say something completely different. I have class and he doesn't so there ya go! They just finished installing my new A/C unit. David and his crew were great. There was a small issue with the company subcontracted to remove asbestos in a tight crawl space so our install was delayed by 1 day. David was so hyper-aware that we would be without AC he really shuffled and hustled to fast track our job. He found someone else to remove asbestos and then his crew got to work the next day. They sent a whole cavalry to get the thing installed and duct work completed. His crew went above and beyond, they were having trouble with our side gate and Jorge and Roberto literally took the door of it's hinges to make it work and moved some larger items that were in the way. All the while being mindful of our dog. Josh came in the next two days to help finish the job. They left my house as they found it. The whole crew was fantastic and clearly took pride in doing the job and doing it well. I highly recommend this company and suggest you ask for David, Jorge and Josh (and Nef too). read more

They have been installing and servicing our Units for 30+ years. Bids are always competitive and they do a good job. They advised correctly when it was time to replace instead of repair. Two years ago they installed two huge roof units on our Preschool. A few months ago they replaced a smaller unit in our Infant Center. All have worked great. Had a new rooftop unit installed in May. Turned on gas heat a couple of weeks ago but it did not work. Fortunately, I know how to perform basic troubleshooting in most appliances. Fault indicated "igniter inhibit fault". The igniter was never switched to the "ON" position at installation. I called the company and expressed my concern that a full operations check was apparently not performed. I asked that they come out and perform this to ensure the system is operating as it should. Have used this company for years. All 4 family homes had routine service each year and they installed an a/c unit in one. I was very happy with the office staff and field personnel. Seemed like they had the same employees which makes me feel like they a good company. Couple of years ago I noticed a change.. office seemed the same but instead of techs coming out to look at a job and give you a price. I was put through to a sales person who asked questions as far as what I was needing. I rec'd a email with a contract attached that I needed to sign before they'd come out. I assumed (not smart) that was a approx price and I asked them to do the job. They arrived spent 60 mins 2 people very little $ in supplies charging the $1,600. I contacted the office left messages stating what I have here.. they deducted $100 still a total rip off. And they did not solve my problem. They were to order a part to complete the job, an expensive part. I rec'd no call or message saying part was in. Called asking about the part twice finally I got a call back saying the part was no longer available... come on.. crappy customer service.. which they were very good in my option in the past.. seems they jumped the shark. Hired people to send out bids, people sign thinking it's business as usual except thats your price you have to pay.. doesn't matter if it's a rip off price.. you gotta pay it. In addition I hired them to service my unit earlier 2021 and wrote another big check now I'm wondering if I wasn't upsold.. on that as well. I just hired a great A/C repair person who spent over an hour to fix what they said I needed fixing including the part I paid $190 .... so long Canoga Park A/C and heating... I will no longer be calling you. read more

Really poor troubleshooting of A/C skills. Technician was on site less than 5min. It only connected the hoses to check pressure on evaporator. Then proceeded to say the evaporator need to be replaced at a cost of $2800 without looking at anything else that could be wrong. I questioned the reassoning, tech stated it was installed wrong. Anyhow, I called another A/C company. Tech look at everything possible and did real troubleshooting and it ended up been that the system had too much Freon. Unit is cooling better than before and it didn't need it to be replaced. Please, just be honest and tell your techs to be honest as well. Do some troubleshooting before jumping to conclusions. You never know who you may run into. read more

I will start by saying the technician seemed knowledgeable, was friendly, worked hard and did a overall good job. The problems I experienced were- 1. My 4 hour window that they were supposed to come, came and went with no communication. I had to call and remind them an hour after the window and they rushed someone over. 2. They charged us $230 for a thermostat that cost $30. I understand a business needs to make a profit but this is ridiculous. We paid an extra $140 for them to come out. 3. When I called to complain about the price gauging I was met with attitude and lecture on the the difficulties of being a business. It's just a shame when companies feel entitled to take advantage. I had them clean my ducting for $950 because of the 2018 Woolsey fire. I don't know what they did but I am getting more ash in my house then before they did it. They came and put a filter in one vent in my living room but that did not help. I called many times to get a redo and I could never get them to call me back. I challenged the charge and they still didn't call me. Unfortunately I waited too long and it wouldn't approve charging them back. Now I have to spend a lot more money to have a more reputable competent company clean my ductwork because I am always sweeping and dusting up ash. read more

Had 3 different companies , that were highly rated on yelp, Come out to give me an estimate on a new roof air conditioning unit. All 3 were close in price , but canoga park air conditioning seemed to know so much more about their profession than the others. They all have to be certified in air conditioning and are drug tested. I wish Yelp provided the option to select zero stars. I had a horrible experience with Canoga Park Heating and AC. As a first time home buyer, I found out that it is suggested to have our ac and heater serviced twice a year. I found Canoga Park Heating and AC on Yelp and decided to try them for our maintenance. The customer service was great over the phone and they were able to fit me into their schedule right away. The tech met my husband and placed a new filter into our ceiling grate and suggested that we needed to replace our entire unit. He quoted my husband $4-7k and a new unit that is either 2 or 2.5 ton for a new system basically with nothing else included. I called Kappl AC and the tech was very knowledgeble over the phone. He even accommodated my schedule by coming out on a Sat. Upon Kappl's inspection, he told me that the tech from Canoga Heating and AC installed a filter that basically served no purpose since the filter did not cover the whole grate. Additionally, the quote for a 2 OR 2.5 ton unit did not make any sense since there is a huge difference between both units. In the end, we used Kappl AC and are so happy with our decision. They are polite, knowledgeable, and aren't out to scam people out of $105 maintenance fee. My suggestion is to do your homework before finding an AC company to suit your needs. read more

CPHAC installed our new AC and furnace. The owner, Bob, was very knowledgable and courteous and answered all of our questions. His was the only bid, that guaranteed that it would pass the Calif. Energy Test (and duct leak test). The workers, who installed it, were very friendly, personable and work was completed in a professional manner. And they indicated that they were happy working for CPHAC . In order to get more AC and heat into the farther away master bedroom, they installed larger ductwork, which works great. After the job was completed, Bob even submitted our rebates to Carrier Overall, we were very happy with CPHAC and would highly recommend them to others. read more

A friend referred this company to me. The pump on our air conditioner would not stop running. The tech said you need a new pump and replaced the condensate pump for a whopping $600+. He did not search for an answer why it did not shut off. When the problem continued I called around and spoke to other people who explained would could be wrong but I called this company back. Another fellow came out but wouldn't climb our very steep roof and did not explore other possible problems. So I called another company during the last heat wave. A tech came out after 5 days, due to a huge increase in calls, and discovered the problem was a plugged tube. Hello. Reasonable fix of cleaning and sanitizing the tube and the ac is working again. I scheduled an "emergency" repair on a unit they installed several years ago. I had to wait a week before they had a technician available. The appointment was for between 1-5:00PM today. I called at 4:15 having not heard from the technician and was told he was running late and would surely be at my home before 6;00PM. It is now 6:20, their offices are closed and still no technician has come OR EVEN CALLED. Really horrible customer service and I think they have lost a very good customer. We called Canoga Park Heating & Air Conditioning today and the experience was way better than I had anticipated. The last guy I had come over left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyway Canoga Park Heating and AC came out same day, pretty much within 2 hours of call. The service technician was Greg and he was fantastic. Very professional and polite. I did ask several questions at the start, and he assured me that he would explain everything once he was done. For some reason, I believed him off the bat and he didn't disappoint. He took the time to explain what was happening and more importantly why it was happening. We discussed our options and he explained to me the advantages and disadvantages and also the potential pitfalls. There was no pressure to sell and I had anticipated that I would need an upgrade. Greg, however, even beat me to the punch by informing me that my service fee today would apply as a credit should we decide to go with Canoga to upgrade our system. Canoga Park Heating and AC will be coming over the next day to give me an estimate. I'm not automatically picking them as I will want at least a couple more estimates, which is never always about the price. The service will level will factor in when we decide but at the moment Canoga Park has the leg up. As long as prices aren't too far apart, Canoga Heating and Air Conditioning will have our serious consideration. It was a comprehensive service and I appreciated his patience, thoroughness and overall service level. read more
