I've used Canoga Park Heating and Air for years and now they are still the same, great company with a new name. I called and Giovanni set me up with a "tune up" appointment today. I requested his best guy and I sure got him. Miguel!!! He was trained by my FAVORITE technician who retired and he worked just like Allen. Such a relief to get an HONEST technician who cares about you having a good air conditioner AND he told me about their maintenance program. I had it for years until it got too expensive for me but now they let you pay a low monthly charge and you have all the great services that come with it! LIAR! SCAMMERS! BEWARE!!!!! READ CAREFULLY... I was recommended to this company but a trusted friend and wonderful person, which makes this even worse!!!! The lady in the office was lovely and very very nice; however, there "salesmen/liar, DAVE disgusted me! First impression of Dave, a nice guy. Then he goes to my furnace to check it out and opens the door slightly. The door CAN open all the way, but he didn't do that. He only had the door open just enough so he could do his damage. A few seconds later he opens the door all the way and states; "here's the issue".....wherein he revealed a rip in the duct work which had insulation padding around it. He goes on to say, " it had to be the people that installed your furnace". The ironic part of that.....My brother-in-law installed that furnace!!!!! The next ironic part to this is I had just put in a new filter a week before and the rip was not there!!!!! He then goes on to say, "the duct work had to all be redone and the furnace pulled out from the closest in order to get to the duct work." I asked why he could not just tape the rip as it was not very big? He ASSURED ME "that would not work". He then left and nicely told me he would talk to his boss and call me the next day with the quote of how much it would be to fix it all. He did call, left a message......."he spoke to his boss and it would only be between $2700- $3200 to fix everything." After I almost choked, I called a HVAC friend of mine. My guy came out and whola.........Fixed the rip with 3 pieces of thick, electrical tape! (See photo below). He also advised me the rip would not just happen!!!! It had to be purposely done. WOW I WONDER HOW THAT HAPPENED!?!?!? I'm old but I'm not stupid!!!! To anyone old or young reading this .... BUYER BEWARE!!!! I had my A/C installed by someone else. After less than two months the unit was short cycling and the guy that installed it wouldn't come to check the unit that he installed. Simply put... before they messed with my HVAC is was working and when they were done... I had NO HVAC. Coincidence? No way. I only asked for them to change my filter, nothing else as it was working! By the time they finished, they said I needed a new thermostat. Keep in mind, the thermostat was working prior to their visit. They said it would be approx $400-$500. They even agreed that it was operating before they began working on it and said they have seen things "just blow up" when they arrive. After my telling them what I thought... they agreed not to charge me anything and they left. HOWEVER, I now had NO A/C whereas prior to their working on it... I had A/C. It's fairly black and white. They were trying to get me to pay for what worked before they came out... PLEASE use anyone else! read more

Noel came at the appointed time, was very professional, show me the new app they use that presents the condition of the HVAC digitally so I could understand how they system is functioning. Show me that the capacitor was failing and explained that while I could get by until the next service, the system would be straining during the summer. I have the yearly maintenance and he explained that if I signed up for the next year, I could save a significant amount on the cost of the repair. I called CPH&A and was thrilled to have someone come out within a short time and check out the problem. Turns out I needed a new thermostat. Excellent professionals whom get the job done correctly, the first time! Eddie took on a problem referred to him on my behalf from Carrier Corporate. My system was diagnosed with a failed compressor (diagnosed by another local authorized Carrier dealer). Note the system has only been in place for two years. Although uncommon it can happen per both Carrier and Eddie. Needless to say I was not happy. After working to re-arrange scheduling to get staff out to us quickly, Eddie sent out Johnny (senior tech) to both confirm the problem, with the plan to replace the Compressor. At arrival Johnny began his diagnostic process to confirm the problem. After evaluation Johnny determined that only the run capacitor had failed and that the compressor and system appeared to be in working order. Needless to say I was both pleased, but further frustrated as I had been given an inaccurate diagnosis a week prior. After changing the capacitor the system began operating. Johnny remained on site for an additional hour observing the unit and its function. Further Johnny checked the entire unit, confirmed accurate charge levels and pressures with the objective of ensuring we would not have further trouble. Johnny did an excellent job, explained his process the entire time, and answered my many questions. I was pleased to learn that with the new capacitor all was running per system specs. Canoga Park Heating & AC, specificially Eddie and Johnny took what was a difficult situation and turned it into a positive one. I now have a new Go-To service provider for both maintenance and replacement units. As well a place to refer colleagues confidently. Thank you Eddie and Johnny for all you did! On 2/21/23 I received maintenance services for my heating system from this company. I had a maintenance contract with them, and this was the second of two visits. It was a cold day, and the heating was working perfectly when the technician arrived. He went up on the roof and within minutes came down and told me that the system was not working, and I needed a replacement for the capacitor, which would cost me $325.00. I looked on Amazon and saw that this was a $13.00 part. I argued with him since it was working perfectly when he showed up. He had removed the old capacitor and showed it to me to show me how old it looked and refused to put it back unless I paid him. He then called his boss and I argued with him and finally agreed to pay $225.00 since I had no heat and I had no choice. I am disabled, so I was unable to drive and was unable to replace the part myself. I had already decided not to renew my contract with this company.Six months later, I hired another licensed company who came out for their first maintenace visit. The technician came down from the roof and told me that everything was working well. In his hand was the old capacitor, and he s. aid "whoever was up there before didn't even clean up after himself". He told me that he had tried the old capacitor, and "it was still working even though it had rusted a little from all the rain". Clearly, I was lied to and ripped off by Canoga ******&AC, as I originally thought, but could not prove until now. Since I had already paid for the maintenance visit, I think they should refund my $225! I do not recommend this company! I also made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and this company's response was to lie about what happened and claim that I had called them for a return visit. Never happened! read more

These folks were a really bad experience. They just wanted to replace the whole system. "it is old" they signed me up for a credit program that they wouldn't give me copies of, which was very hard to cancel. I called Lennox via Costco - who were able to repair the system that Canoga Park Heating and Air Conditioning would not even offer to repair. Yes I will need to replace the whole system eventually - but NEVER WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY WOULDN'T RESPOND ON THE PHONE OR BY EMAIL, WERE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I always try to shop local, these folks were a nightmare....go elsewhere..... read more

In 2020 , My AC was not cooling down. I had one company to come to check. They said the freon was leaking and they added $500 of Freon to it. After few weeks the AC was not cooling down again, that's what I found another company which is canoga park heating to check. They said the compressor was not good. I had paid $4000 to change the new one. That was in October 2020. We didn't really use much because the summer was already gone. This year the summer time comes and we started to use the AC and The same issue happened. I asked them to come over to check. They are telling me my evaporator coil needs to be replaced. I was very shocked by the price they gave me. It was $4200 to replace it. I really felt like I was ripped off. $4000 + $4200 that is ridiculous. This was my first experience with MightyServ. They scheduled their first 6-month maintenance on my heating and AC units. NOEL CASTANEDA was the service person who conducted the maintenance. It was the best experience I have had with a maintenance checkup. Noel Castaneda did a superb job. He was here a significant amount of time and showed me before and after pictures of the work he completed. The AC unit was filthy. It had never been cleaned out. I was blown away by how pristine it looked as if it were a brand new unit. To top off the experience, he secured my garden hose holder that was loose so the hose could be put back. This business has been in the valley forever! We have used them a couple of times and they are professional, respectful and thorough. We used a 'tune-up' coupon and they switched out some filters for us and checked all our AC parts. They take pix of everything so you can see exactly what they are talking about and then offer a variety of programs & payment plans. Despite discussing this matter twice and asking to have it put in writing for future reference, this was not done. After 3 voicemails, 2 emails and a text, no one has responded to my attempts to settle this matter in over a week. Old School Service - Modern Technology! I have used Canoga Park Heating and Air to service my 30+ year old HVAC system since I moved into my house in 2006. They have always been courteous, knowledgeable and don't try to sell me stuff I don't need. I just had my blower fan replaced (it is used for heating and air conditioning and it was making a real racket) and Johnny was quick to find the problem, quick to order the part, ready to answer all of my questions and when it came to replacing the blower fan - he was clean, quick and friendly. (I have four cats so he had to work around them and he was a pro at THAT, too). I would recommend CPH&A to anyone who needs to repair or replace anything for heating or air conditioning. Oh yes, to make matters WORSE, once we received our "quote," we asked the question, "Does the State of CA inspector have to come to our home and make sure that everything is installed up to code?" The answer that was given will SHOCK you! The man who did our "quote" for a new furnace said, "No!!!" Let me tell you all, folks, that is the WRONG answer, because once you have any remodeling, outside or in your home, or Air Conditioning, Furnace, or Water Heater... you DO have to have the state of CA inspector come out and make sure that the work that has been done is up to code!!! September 2020 - My home air conditioner was making a loud noise, so, I phoned Canoga Park Heating & Air Conditioning, the receptionist quoted me an $85 charge for a home visit. The technician arrived the next day, after checking several connections, he said I needed a new Capacitor. I agreed to the $100 charge for that part. The loud noise continued, now the technician tells me the compressor is failing and the unit needs to be replaced. I said, I would think about what avenue to pursue. The technician then tells me my bill for this service was $385. I said, for what. Well the home visit was $85 and the capacitor was $100. So, I was scammed out of $200. I registered my complaint with Canoga Park Heating & Air, but of course, there was not a response. This company is a long tenured company, I don't understand how they stay in business with these deceptive bait and switch charges. read more

I have a new HVAC system installed by Canoga Park heating and Air. The first time I go to use the AC on June 9th it isn't blowing cold air. They send someone out twice, it still is not working, on July 9 they tell me a part has been ordered. We are having a heat wave. On July 12 they still do not have the part. My contact person quit. I have a new system (Carrier) that takes 4 hours to cool 7 degrees. read more

I started using Canoga Park Heating and Air Conditioning a few years ago and signed up for a service contract after seeing good reviews. 2 weeks ago they came out as my heater was not working and he said it was the filter . It worked off and on for a few weeks but when it would not come on Saturday morning I called. They told me there would not be a service charge. They replaced with the cheapest thermostat around (44.00 online) and for a 30 minute call charged me 315.00. When I called today I was told that is what I agreed to. I was not there only my 95 yo husband was home and he did not know what he was agreeing to or the quality of this service. Visit was 30 minutes and it took 10 minutes to replace the thermostat. Johnny, is INCREDIBLE! After 5 months going through 4 other companies, Johnny came in and saved the day. We had a handful of companies come in, find no issue, and say they have no idea why things weren't working. Johnny came in, friendly as can be, and gave us a hypothesis on the problem. Fast forward a couple weeks for the parts to come in, Johnny came back (on the weekend, mind you), installed all the pretty new pieces, and got the cool air going. He also gave use a run down on the new components and what to expect in the future. We couldn't be more grateful for Canoga Air and Johnny. I requested a quote/estimate and wasn't pleased with their formula. They want to charge me $85.00 for a visit. I can understand if that can be applied to total cost of service, but it does not -- only to parts. Thus, theoretically, if I needed just refrigerant, the charge would be Refrigerant (its not a "part") + Labor + $85; if a part costs $20.00 then total charge would be Labor + $65 (so you are paying $85 for a $20 part). Unless your parts go over $85.00 you'd be paying a premium If I didn't want to do anything I would be charged $85, but that would be fair for their trip. I just don't understand why there is a trip fee for a service that is typically not done at the office anyway [Note: this was per phone conversation. I did not make the appointment, but they were willing to come out today] Just thought I'd give warning. Maybe that is industry standard, I'll find out from another co. I called to request to replace a pump at my evaporative cooler. I informed that I already bought a commercial grade pump, exactly same as broken one. My request for service was refused based on possible "warranty" issues. My guess, this is because they cannot mark up cost of a pump. Unacceptable! read more

Called for inspection of AC and the only thing done was to hook up the pressure gauges. The tech Miguel said the system was low and said "stop leak" would be used, but there's no guarantee. He rambled off some hefty prices verbally saying they don't record the pressures, and when asked for an estimate in writing he took my email and said he would send me a quote along with a receipt for the $120 which he never did. The AC system is 5yrs old and he suggested I reach out to the installers. Canoga Park Heating & Air was a big disappointment. Don't waste your money they are lazy and indifferent to you needs. read more

Do not get new air conditioners. With in a year air conditioner garbage. House flooded times too. Refused to come repair.

After doing some cost comparison with a few companies, I went with Canoga Park. My HVAC unit completely died in the middle of a September heatwave. Canoga Park was extremely responsive to my initial call for an evaluation and estimate, and they also use the brand I wanted -- Carrier. Installation went very smoothly, and the technicians were extremely careful about cleaning up, not that they created much of a mess in the first place. I am very pleased and would highly recommend them whether you need a new system or just repairs or service. read more
