All I can say is you should do your homework before working with this company. I wanted to replace a 3 ton air handler and call this company. They persuaded that a 2.5 ton would work just as well and I trusted what they said and it was installed. Well that was a big mistake. there is really not that much of a price difference between a 2.5 and 3 ton but I am guessing it is smaller and easier for them to install it. I purchased a 3 ton from another company for the same price for my second floor and find there is a major difference. The 2.5 takes much longer to heat up and there is always 2 degrees lower than the thermostat temperature. I suggest you compare before you decide to work with this comapny. read more

Had a mini split unit installed last spring for my garage turned office, and while the price tag was a bit sticker shocky, it was totally worth it. Kept the space perfectly cool all summer, only struggling on the hottest of days. And now that it's getting colder, the heat has been a lifesaver as well, though not as powerful as the AC. I signed a contract on a Monday with Affordable Heating and Air for a new heating and air system for my rental condo in Sherman Oaks. On Tuesday they called and said, "we have a problem, we're going to need a bigger crane and if we get caught by the city it's going to cost you $1,700 more." I spoke with a man named Leon who was rude, and I told him that was not my problem - their estimator should have known what was required before giving me a price. The next day I spoke to the general manager, and by that point I was extremely upset and did not want to pay any more than the agreed price. I ended up canceling my contract with Affordable on Wednesday and hired a company called Service Genius the same day. Service Genius completed the entire job on Thursday for the same price I was originally quoted and did not need a larger crane. When I originally signed with Affordable, I even had to call a lady named Lorraine just to get a copy of my contract. Overall, dealing with Affordable was a highly stressful experience; they tried to change the price after the fact and did not seem to have a clue how to run their business. If you want a great company that knows what it's doing, call Service Genius instead. read more

The installation was great. Humberto, the guy that installed it was top notch! But they brought the wrong AC unit on the day of the install and had to scramble to find a new unit that would work for my unit. They did it and it was great. Got a better unit for the same price. Recently had a leak from the rain. The Building Managers/HOA had a roof inspector come out and take pictures telling me it was the AC at fault for the leak. Affordable heating and air came out and took pictures too and said it's not the AC it's the roof. I was like great please send me the pictures and a short description that says it is the roof. They said ok! I already put it back on them that the roof is bad by the way! Ryan delivered an awesome report that was clear and concise with the awesome photos the installer took. Just finished a consultation/estimate to replace existing central air system with a heat pump system with technician Alon B. He provided estimates for two different systems, breaking out the costs for each part and answering all my questions along the way. His thorough, patient and detailed explanations taught me a great deal more about heat pump systems than I knew before. I am close to completing the research phase of this project, and I have not yet made a final decision, but Alon's estimates were quite reasonable and competitive with other contractors I've interviewed. This review is solely on our interaction with the customer service advisor. My husband, Mario, and I, spoke to Alfredo who was absolutely wonderful. He took the time to explain the products in detail to us and gave us an education so we could make an informed decision. We are still in the process of getting bids because we want to do our due diligence before making a final decision. From doing my own research I have learned that the quality of products today from all the different manufacturers are not the same as they use to be and, what will really matters most is the warranty and the customer service. Affordable Heating and Air has a great warranty (10 year warranty with an extended 10 year labor and system replacement warranty). That is a 20 year labor and system replacement warranty. You cannot beat that! Most units (condenser and furnace) have 5 years, maybe 10 years and, with shorter warranties, almost always, something goes wrong as soon as they expire. This tells me this is a company who believes in their products and backs up their products, which is also important. Alfredo was such a pleasure to talk to. Very personable and really knowledgeable. We cannot say enough about Alfredo who really followed through with us and provided us with a very detailed estimate, including pictures of the parts and a breakdown of the total cost. Really went above and beyond. We greatly appreciate this and hopefully, we can do business with Affordable Heating and Air. When all is said and done and, if we decide to go with Affordable Heating and Air, it will be because of Alfredo. I contacted this company for an estimate to replace my wall heater. The tech that showed up gave me a sales pitch that lasted nearly 30 minutes. After giving me all kinds of info, he said his boss - the woman who owns the company - would need to talk to me. At that point, I said there was no need for that, as I had a lot of work to do. He stepped outside to make a call while I worked then came back and talked some more. Two days later, I contacted the company to let them know I was going with someone else as their quote was much higher than another I received. Since then, I have received three texts, one phone call and one email asking me to reconsider. I replied to one text, telling them to stop contacting me, and I blocked the number. I've had a bit of a mixed experience with communication. We had issues with our system right away due to our thermostat, which wasn't mentioned as a possible issue after installation, and we struggled to get timely response and support until I made certain complaints and then I was able to get a call back. I had to resolve the issues myself ultimately as the response was too late and we needed heat, but hope the system will function moving forward with no issues. My wife and I were dealing with our AC failing with summer just starting to heat up. After getting some initial troubleshooting done with a nitrogen test, we were told that our 18 year old AC unit was dead and would need to be replaced. Since our furnace was also pretty old and inefficient, we decided to replace our entire system with a heat pump. After meeting with several different companies to get quotes, we worked with Benji at Affordable Heating and Air. Benji did a great job, thoroughly analyzing each component of our system, measuring each of our return and supply vents, our electric panel, and giving us maintenance tips along the way. He was very responsive for any questions we had and worked to get us quotes on systems that we wanted to explore while being clear about what we would need and what would not work given our existing vent setup. Benji worked with us to understand our budget and efficiency needs to come up with a proposal that worked for us. After deciding to move forward with Affordable, Kim and Kellee helped get things moving with our HOA, taking care of insurance and permitting to get things approved and get the job done right. Just got our AC job Completed! Ahh, nice and cool. Lorain was great. The installers were so thorough, and I needed an unexpected new coper return line for the freon as my existing one was too small (good riddance). She gave me a great deal on this. Very smooth, quick and professional installation: day 1) abatement of the old asbestos ducts (couple of hours), day 2) installation of the condenser, freon charging, inside furnace, and AC (6 hours), day 3) crawl space installation, installation of the ducts and vents (with 2nd intake vent = an unexpected bonus due to the knowledge of the installers), rerouting of the condensation line, testing and tune up of the system. I was very impressed with Jeremy - the HVAC Contractor from "Affordable Heating and Air" who came over to my house within a short period of time, looked at the problem, and gave me a good bid to replace the "Flue Vent Cap and Collar" that I need - to make my new furnace work properly. I can hardly wait for this company to come back and do the job! Whoops! I needed to Revise my review, because - even though I gave Jeremy and his company's representative, Lorraine - the Correct Part # of the "Roof Jack Assembly" (aka "Flue Vent Cap and Collar") which works with my Furnace (for which I also gave the Model #) - the Original Written Contract they sent me (on 5/06/24) - Increased in Price - by more than $300 - two weeks later (on 5/20/24)! They told me that is because the "Roof Jack"/Part needed for the job (i.e. the # which was Written on their Contract) cost more than their original bid(?) I cannot hire a company with this type of business practice. read more

Affordable Heating and Air is a complete joke! Both Loraine Scarano and Eric Meyerson preach about how much they care for their customer and will do anything to assure satisfaction. I like that! So after a few weeks of negotiating a price, I accepted their estimate. But Lorraine tells me they screwed up and cannot honor the price. So, obviously I wasn't happy. I asked Lorraine to have Eric call me. No one bothered to call me back. What a complete joke of a company.
