I will not hire this person again. He forgot about the appointment at 10am- so he was late. No big deal. I told him he needed a 2nd person and he showed up alone. He tried to get my brother to help him. Then he said we had to wait for someone else to get off work at 4pm. At the end of the day he had quoted me a little under 300 dollars. Really highly recommend these movers. I wasn't the most organized in my approach but they powered thru regardless. It turned out that I needed more time than originally planned and they pivoted to get me wrapped up. Elliot helped me move this past weekend and with very late notice. On a Friday night I realized I did not have enough time to move myself like intended. So I searched through Yelp and looked for moving companies that were "open now" at 8:30PM! Elliot had great reviews so I called and he was able to book my move for Sunday at 2PM. I was referred to Eliot by a friend who had used his business for moving services in the past. First off, Eliot is very prompt in phone calls and text messages. He was very straightforward and let me know ahead of time of his pricing policies and gave me an estimate for time and labor. His pricing is also extremely competitive. On moving day, he and his team showed up on time and ready to work. He and his employees were very professional and loaded up my storage unit in record time. All of our items were handled with care. Highly Recommend!!! We have used Eliot for numerous moves and have referred him to at least 5 people, including my in-laws who were moving from Georgetown to Mobile, Alabama. He's not the cheapest(though his prices are very competitive) but we pay more because we know our things will be treated with care. With our move recent move, I witnessed him and his two man team bring down a massive MALM ikea dresser down a twisting stair case...that was freaking stressful to watch but they got it down. That'll be the last time we ever have stairs in our house! He works just as hard as the guys he hires. I've seen him lift one of our couches over his shoulder and just walk it up the stairs to our second floor apartment. Anyways, I see some pretty terrible reviews on here but honestly I can't recommend him enough. Me and hubby are apartment dwellers so we move pretty often--5 times in the last 7 years. Every move has been smooth and a relatively stress free experience. I owe most of that to Eliot and his guys, and the other part to you as the customer being prepared! Awesome awesome awesome. Elliot is a super nice guy, and will always get you moved quickly and with professionalism. I've never used a mover but my gf made me, and we used Mighty E off a recommendation from a friend. He got everything out of out 2/2 townhome in 1.5 hour. He got everything moved into our house in 1 hour 15 minutes, and the cost was $260.00 dollars (he had quoted me between 250-300, so perfect there!). We had the glass on a picture break and he was VERY apologetic and took 10 dollars off the price. Honestly I felt bad for him because he was super careful with everything and it was an honest mistake. Seriously if you move and the only damage is some glass on a print (the print was fine) then you're lucky. I can't say enough that if you're in Austin and moving don't waste your time and effort moving when Elliott will do it cheaper and faster than anyone else in town. read more

There is nothing "false" about my testimony. There was only one person working steadily and the third person was mostly standing around. My biggest concern is not about the estimate but about Eliot's attitude! He was extremely rude! I should never be treated the way he treated me. I forgot to mention, when we went to my new apartment, I called my male friend to be there. Once Eliot saw my male friend was there, they started working a steady pace. They even started sweating and breathing hard. I can't believe that we needed a man to show up to see them actually work at a good pace. I was not taken advantage only because I spoke up. Wow... I was in a tight spot. A friend who is recovering from a serious illness out-of-state asked if I would hire someone affordable to pack her apartment here and move it to a storage unit before her lease runs out at the end of the month. "Of course!" I told her.... then wondered how I'd get that done? A realtor friend (who deals with and hears about LOTS OF MOVERS said not to fret, she knew just who to call: Elliot of Mighty E's Moving. She was absolutely right. Even on short notice, Elliot could not have been more kind and accommodating. His communication was perfect from the initial call until the job was done: confirmation texts & calls replied to and initiated as we both sorted things out (tricky since I wasn't initially familiar with the property or the things being moved). I never for one moment worried that he was going to leave me in the lurch. And he didn't. He and his assistant for the move were so polite, friendly, and crazily efficient that they finished the job well ahead of schedule-- resulting in a well-below the already VERY reasonable quote. I could not have been more pleased. They were careful with my friend's things- including many fragile pieces of art- and performed an absolute miracle getting it all in the storage unit (I NEVER could have done it!). They were also incredibly scrupulous: they pointed out a very minor ding that happened during the move that I never, ever would have noticed. This guy is amazing! Not only did he pick up my solid wood coffee table with one hand--which is the same coffee table I find difficult moving with my knee around the living room it's so heavy, but he's funny and he's very attentive to what I needed. He kept me very calm on moving day and everything went so incredibly smoothly, which is a far cry from all my other moving experiences of moving it all myself. NOTHING was broken, everything arrived just as I had packed it. He and his helper hustled! They were quick, they were efficient! They were amazing. I would highly recommend. Eliot and the other mover with "Mighty E" moved everything faster than quoted and were careful with all of our belongings. Eliot was even kind enough to take apart a large piece of furniture we had and hook up our washer & drier to our new apartment, which is something movers don't normally do! After reading the negative 1 star reviews on here, it reminds me that some people have unrealistic expectations... I bet those people were not only having a bad day, but also didn't have their things boxed up/packed up properly. People in this world love to blame anybody else when something goes wrong, you can do everything right and somebody will still find a problem. Perception also plays a big role, you can give someone a sincere compliment and they can take it as an insult. HE WAS THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!!! If I could give this guy a zero, I would! 1.) He was 40+ minutes late with no notification to me. 2.) He clearly just picked up some guys from somewhere, as he was introducing everyone in front of me. 3.) It took him another 10+ minutes to fill out his paperwork & actually start moving. 4.) He was trying to tell me what items he was willing to move/ not move. DOES HE NOT KNOW THAT WHEN HE GETS HIRED HE IS WORKING FOR THAT PERSON? 5.) He decided not to follow me to new place. He said he needs to go to the store because his stomach is hurting him. I give him directions. He didn't follow them and again was another 30+ minutes late with all of my stuff! Again, no call of any kind from him! 6.) Even though he wasn't done with everything he said he would do, he said he had to leave as he had another job to do. 7.) He then was trying to charge me full price including the time that he was running around because he didn't listen to me or look at his sheet that took him 10 minutes to fill out for the new address! and finally...8.) When I addressed these with him, he was the one trying to tell me that he was trying to be cool with me!!! ARE YOU @#$%ING KIDDING ME??? read more

My family moved into a house in south Austin moving from north Austin and Elliot was recommended from my Realtor. He came to our apartment to give us an estimate and was very professional. The day of the move he showed up with one other guy and went to work right away! They were quick and efficient. The work went smoothly, no damage, very courteous, and came in right under his estimate. I even commented to my wife that I felt like we had cheated ourselves by not using him in our previous moves. To start this out, let me just say that Eliot is pretty much the nicest man ever. I had an amazing experience with him and Mighty E's. I had originally called him around midnight on a Friday to help me and my fiancée (both women, so I don't think that review about him only working hard around another man is true) move a couch into our new apartment. He agreed to come out but we ended up stuck somewhere, so he came the next day and actually ended up helping us unload an entire u haul, empty and transport our storage unit, and move it all inside. He was on time (me and my fiancée were the late ones) and yes he did stop on the way to our apartment to get something to eat, but that's not too unusual since he is a human that occasionally needs food- yes another stab at that nasty review. (He didn't charge us for the time he stopped). He was very professional, had our storage unit completely loaded in like 30 minutes, everything was tied down and stable to transport, him and his co worker had both trucks unloaded very quickly, worked hard the entire time, and nothing was broken or damaged. He even moved all of our weird little random items that didn't make it into boxes (which was a lot) like some duffle bags, framed pictures, target bags, lamps and dog toys, which I appreciate because a lot of movers are strict on stuff being packed and in boxes! On top of being professional and respectful- he is very very sweet and nice and very funny. The person he had with him was very nice as well and I felt confident while watching them work that we had made the right choice in movers. I will definitely use him next time I need to move and would recommend him to anyone that asks. His rates are fair and what I paid was almost exactly my estimate and I don't feel like he tried to take advantage of me or change his prices last minute.
