Ronald is the best.... I have done 4 leased cars with him for the best customized tinting. They have moved and the location is easy to find - just aim for Sand Island Road and take the first right on Alahao. It is quick so slow down after making the turn on SI Road. Once you hang a right, continue to the bridge -BEFORE the bridge hang another right. Midnight is in the group of warehouse type units. I called to make an appointment and Ronald asked me a few questions in order to determine the amount of time. He gave me a couple of times and they fit. Once you arrive, he greets you with a great smile and friendly disposition. He offers his private area to watch TV.....I opted to walk around the area and grab a bite to eat(another review). Ronald is super amicable and we yacked and yacked while he finished up. So far, the tint job is super. Recently purchased a car and needed the windshield (legally) tinted. I had tried a really popular place for my last car was not 100% happy with the results. There was a blueish haze in that was ugly and annoying. As far as heat reduction it did work. My neighbor who is extrmemly meticulous about his car told me to go see Ron at Midnight Tinting. I am glad he told me and I am glad I went. Talked to Ron who gave me a couple of options. I discussed my previous experience with windshield tint and my concerns. He showed me some of his work to include his personal car. It did NOT have that blusih haze. He double checked to make sure the meter would read within the legal limits. The work was done quickly and perfectly. They have a very clean studio and nice waiting room with a TV to pass the time. I called, got a recommendation and quote based on my needs, and had an appointment scheduled within under 10 minutes. When I arrived, they started working on my vehicle within minutes of the scheduled time. I had doubts on the 1.5 hours that was quoted for the total install, I expected it to take much longer being that they were also tinting my front windshield and sunroof however much to my surprise it was done in about the 1.5 hours quoted. I got the Xpel Prime XR Plus all around except for the windshield, which got the Prime XR Blue 80 to meet the legal requirements. The tint is fantastic, it blocks a lot of heat and protects my interior from harmful UV. I can actually run my AC a little lower now and still stay nice and cool. I found this shop after searching for an authorized XPEL dealer. If you do your research, XPEL clearly has one of the best tints on the market and Ronald is the expert in them. I called Ronald up and thankfully he had an opening on the following weekend after a cancellation and provided a competitive price estimate. Upon arrival we were greeted by Ronald and he gave us a quick run down of recommendations that met our needs. His shop is meticulously cleaned and his waiting room for clients is more of a luxurious living room than a "waiting room" with a phone charger, water, comfortable furniture and big screen tv. was just about to commit to another tinting company until a yelp search in tint brand pointed me to midnight tinting. midnight uses XPEL brand ceramic tint (i got the black version). do your research and you will see that the TSER/heat rejection is better than all the other brand tint you can find in hawaii. as far as pricing, it is the same or a little more when you call around for quotes ($350 for my 4runner + $150 for front window), but it is worth it because of the quality of the tint. as far as experience, it is top notch. just call to make an appointment (ronald/owner). when you get there, just open the door because ronald is probably working. ronald is super nice and very professional. he is a one man operation so expect to wait 2 hours (bring your food and phone to pass the time because there is nothing around the area to go to). however, his waiting room looks like it is a showroom for Inspiration furniture store. it is super nice and big, with AC and big screen tv. my only regret is that i could have gone darker (legally) on my back windows. the reason is the XPEL tint is super clear from the inside even though it is dark on the outside. i did 20% and could easily gone down to 10% and still be able to see well. midnight tinting is a great place to go with quality ownership, quality tint, and quality experience. my dad went to midnight two days after seeing mine and i plan to bring my LS460 to do the front window. read more

I called here to make an appointment to get my truck tinted with a recommendation by the salesman at Toyota. The original appointment time he gave me was about a little after 12:00 noon. I hesitated a little then he says I can do it at 9:00 am if that's better? That was perfect! The turn around time was two hours. I didn't want ceramic tint I just went for the dark tint. I requested to black out the back half with 5%, 40% on the front half and Moon roof with the 85% heat shield on the whole windshield with a 5% visor. I have to say I can feel the difference with the new tint. There's no place to cruise outside but there's other shops and places to check out while you wait nearby. So I just hung out at jamba juice. Of course at exactly 11:00 am Ron calls and says the truck is done. Couldn't be more happy with the tint job and quick turn around time. As far as I can see, there were no bubbles left in the tint now that it's completely dried. Mahalo Ron for the great customer service and warranty on your work.
