Awesome experience with Midnight Tinting. My 2014 BMW X3 needed the passenger door tint replaced. With summer coming up and the age of my car getting up there I felt inclined to opt to do all windows including my front windshield. I was in and out of there in under 2 hours! After doing some research I decided I wanted Xpel or Llumar brand Tint on my VW GTI. There are one Llumar installer and two Xpel installers on Oahu. In one hour, these guys installed XPel Black, a ceramic tint with good heat protection, and a pure black color (rather than blue). The total price was less than for a ceramic Llumar install at another shop. On the GTI there are tiny a-pillar windows which they handled no problem. They removed and replaced trim as part of their install. The attention to detail and care was A+. Top quality work, and a beautiful shop with a nice waiting room. I've brought all my vehicles here recently. I went deep into a rabbit hole researching tint products and decided that I wanted a particular one, which is what the guys at Midnight Tinting use. It's not just the products though as their service is impeccable. One of my vehicles started to have the front windows peel at the top. I called for a warranty service and they could take me in at their earliest appointment but I chose a day that would work for me. Went and got my tint done back in 2017. Called and ask to have my tint redone because of bubbling and discoloration. He says that he doesn't use that tint anymore so he won't do the warranty on it. What type of business doesn't warranty their work. Even when he was the one that said that the tint has a lifetime warranty. I've spoken to other tint guys out there and they don't agree with what he said. I've recommended Midnight tinting to friends and acquaintances through the years after I got mine done. We needed to re-do the tint on the family car and needed to find someone who was professional, does excellent work, and was available asap. We were recommended to go see Ronald, the owner. First impressions are everything and he checked off all of the above. Very professional, down to earth local guy who takes pride in what he does and it shows. We were told it might take up to at least two hours, no problem, we came prepared but was blown away on how nice and comfortable the waiting room is especially in the hot weather. There is a couch and what he mentioned was the most comfortable - the leather lounge chair with foot rest. Along with the Apple TV that comes stacked with different streaming services like Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime movies. What two hours? It came and went before we could finish our movie. But getting back to the star of the show, the tint. Ronald came to get us once finished and wow the tint looked so clean and perfect. Ron is a really nice guy, his shop is neat, and the lounge is very cozy with entertainment and refreshment for you while you are waiting. I got referred by another Tesla owner. Making an appointment is very easy and fast, the whole process is streamlined. The entire service took only less than an hour for Ron and his guy to tint both front windows and the windshield. Few weeks later, I noticed that there was a small bubble forming up on the driver side window. Then I remembered Ron told me after the service that the tint has lifetime warranty, so I called Ron and told him about the bubbling issue. He told me to bring the car in. The whole process was painless and streamlined as well. I brought the car in, it was really nice for him to squeeze me in between his other appointments. He redid the driver side window twice as he told me he made a mistake the first time. After he finished tinting second time, I sat on the driver seat, then I notice that there is still a bubble at the very same place. I informed Ron and asked him if I should be worried. His answer was "sometimes you just have to accept that, not all the windows we did were perfect." As a customer, I do not know how should I feel about his answer. This isn't the first time I am getting my car windows tinted. I did not have this issue the last time when I tinted my car windows. This is not about being perfect. It is about meeting the threshold of the industry. As if a student is not expected to score 100 out of 100 on every test but at least 60/100 is expected. If you could tint my other windows without any bubbles then I could expect for the same result for this window. If the price I pay cannot guarantee the best result, then I'd rather pay a better price for that result instead of being told the result cannot be guaranteed. As much as I love working with Ron, I think they should put a disclaimer saying the price you pay may not guarantee the best result. Of course my review should not prevent you from visiting their shop, maybe I was just very unlucky. Mahalo! read more
