I had my Accord done with Ohana's Kapolei location last year and they did a fantastic job. So I knew I wanted to go with them for my new car. This time I went with the Honolulu location because they could see me quicker than Kapolei--not trying to fry myself in Honolulu summer sunshine. Bought my car on Saturday, had an appointment book that Wednesday. Their online appointment system is great, and it gives you reminder notifications. Arrived at 930am--I guess I was the first install of the day for Kyle. I asked him about what ceramic options were available. I went with the cheaper Llumar (reputable brand. Worked very well in my accord) -- I think it's their CTX. No frills shop. Just a couch. No fancy ceramic heat display. I'm cool with that. Kyle worked on my car for about an hour. I paid a decent price--$350 for all windows except the front windshield 35%--which, Hawaii legislators if you're reading is ridiculous in freaking Hawaii! At least allow sedans/cars to get darker tint on the back window! Went home and sort of just left it outside in the sun to do it's thing and dry. After about an hour, I went outside to take pictures for this review and noticed some REALLY BIG finger bubbles on the passenger side and part of the back window corner had folded down a bit where the adhesive didn't seem to take. I've had a million cars tinted and never had this problem. But installers have always mentioned to me if any big bubbles appear, take it back immediately before it cures so they can work them out or whatever. See photos. Smaller bubbles are usually fine and will usually dissipate after the film dries. But these were like 3 inch fingers--one on the top of the window, one on the bottom. Went back to Kyle who was in the middle of another car. He came out and his eyes went wide. He'd never seen that happen before. Very quickly he applied some soapy water and did a quick fix. He asked me to come back after the car he was working on so he could do a more thorough job. About 40 mins later, I'm back at the shop. He takes the car into the bay and I hear a ripping sound as I think he pulled the passenger film and started fresh which I appreciated. About 20 mins later, the car was done and everything looked good. He said he applied a lot more heat on the passenger door this time. Now, a few hours later, everything still looks good. No big bubbles. The adhesive appears to have taken this time around. Fingers crossed! Look, this kind of stuff can happen with new tint. I was Kyle's first job that morning, maybe there was some debris on the window, maybe not enough heat was applied, maybe the adhesive sucked on that bit of film, whatever. It's totally fine. The key thing for me is Kyle worked to make it right within a couple of hours. It was a bit of a hassle going back but not too bad. That's the great part. He just fixed whatever went wrong quickly & efficiently. And now my car is looking great! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone because they seem to really take pride in ensuring the job is done well. And if it isn't, they will quickly correct the issue. And at the end of the day, that's what you really want in a tint shop: folks who will stand behind their work. PS--FYI: Llumar provides a warranty so you can take your car in--with your receipt & the warranty--to any installer who uses Llumar and get yourself situated. Got my car fully tinted in 2023, and it's been 2 years since then. It's been a while, but I can say for sure that my tints still look great. I admit I made the rookie mistake of opening one of the windows within a couple hours of them finishing the tints (smh, I remembered it so hard I forgot until it happened), but it still looks like it never happened. This is a review about my car window tint. Since they have great reviews, I didn't look any further. Went on their website and made an appointment at their Honolulu location. Then realized that it's 5% off if purchased online. So I did that but also noticed that you're supposed to purchase and then make an appointment. I also didn't get a receipt so I got worried and called them. The guy answered the phone was nice, assured me that was fine, and emailed me the receipt. My appointment was the first one on Sunday and it seemed that I was the first one there. The guy at the shop opened the door and I just waited inside on the couch until the job was done. Got my Jeep Wrangler recently and wanted to get it tinted for privacy. Been trying to get different quotes everywhere and Ohana Tinting responded with a estimate via Yelp Inquiry. They were the most affordable with their basic tint film. You first purchase the type of tint film you'd like on their website. Their website is very informational and explains the different types of film they provide. After purchasing online, they do give 5% discount for ordering online, you book an appointment online as well. They have two locations Honolulu and Kapolei. I went to the Honolulu location at my appointment at 10am. I got there 10mins before my appointment and one of the workers came out and greeted me. He had the paperwork all out and made sure my online purchase was confirmed on my end. You get to choose the percent tint you want for the windows. For the film I chose the darkest it goes was 20%. I got 35% on the two front sides and 20% for all rear windows. They have a small couch to wait on and a bench in an AC room to wait as well. They also have restrooms. The whole process took 45 mins less than an hour. The person was quick, friendly, and easy to work with. They really know what they're doing! And the film I got came with lifetime warranty! After reading all the good reviews, I decided to call to schedule an appointment to tint my car. I arrived a little early and the worker there came out to me and he took me in to start the paperwork. He helped me decide exactly what I wanted- I came a little unprepared but he was very kind and patient with me. He started working on my car right away and he finished in about 40 minutes which was very impressive. I went with 35% for all 4 windows and my back windshield (legally the darkest which is a bummer) but it turned out great and I paid $259 which is a good price. I went with the metalized option because it's cheaper than ceramic but it does have great heat protection. Initially I had no tint so I felt the difference as soon as I got in my car. Cosmetically, it looks great and heat-wise, it feels so much better. I'm very happy with how it turned out! 10/10 recommended coming to Ohana Tinting. I honestly am not a car person! I don't know anything about cars and so I always turn and ask my bf. But this was something he couldn't help me with so I had just looked on Yelp and found Ohana Tinting. It was easy to book an appointment as you can do that online so it's very convenient! The owner was responsive to my questions when I had messaged them through Yelp. I had booked the appointment at the beginning of the week as I'm trying to get things done for my parents car while they are away on vacation. I believe Kyle was the who helped and did the tinting on my parents window. I only needed one window to get tinted as I had recently replaced that front driver side window because it was cracked. I noticed the tint wasn't the same as the front passenger side so it was something that must be done! It was really easy because when you book online, you needed to input information about your car. Started out by getting a bunch of quotes from random, decently rated tinting business on Yelp. After about a week, I decided to go with Ohana tinting. Showed up for my appointment. While they were removing my old tint, they realized there were 2 tints on it! So they just peeled off the second one. So I ended up only getting the back windshield done since it was pretty beat up and wringly. The tinting looks to be the same as the old side windows. Took my car to the safety inspection and the side window came back at 26%!! The whole point of me getting the tinting redone was to be up to standard and did the 35% to conform with the code. So I called Ohana tinting and he explain to me that, 26% was a super weird number, so he offer a solution of getting the safety redone and if I fail again he will reimburse me. He didn't need to do any of this since I would've paid to get the other 4 side window retinted. Went and got another safety from another place and I passed! Would've given a 5 star but when they did my back window the bottom started peeling and he fixed it when I brought it back in! It's just that if you look you can see where the peeling was. So that blemish kind of it, for the record he did offer to redo it for free, I just don't want to do that to him since they were good guys. read more

They gave me a quote of $250 PLUS and additional $50 to remove the existing tint. They also told me an appointment was required and I would have to wait approximately 3 hours for them to do the job. I requested a quote on Yelp and didn't realize the request went to all car tinting companies. I guess that's a good thing for shopping around and saved time. I immediately got several private messages from tinting outfits. I chose Halawa Tinting after reading the positive Yelp reviews. Plus Kyle was ok with the added hassle of my hatchback spoiler. He quoted me a good price and scheduled me in. Apparently he just moved and for now there is no waiting area. Also my tint job was going to take 5 hours because of the spoiler. So he graciously provided a ride to/from downtown. I got the legal ceramic tint. I believe it's 35% darkness. From the outside it looks fairly dark but from the inside it's still easy to see out.
