I can't believe I forgot to take pics! Came here with my family of 7 and we threw down! This is our…read morenew spot for wings since Hen House recently closed down (sad sad). A little pricier here but the service was excellent and food was finger lickin good. Honestly the wings could have had a little more crisp to them, but maybe that's something we can just modify on a future visit. Taste was on point! My teenage son who always orders the hottest wings off of any menu, ordered the "reaper" sauced wings and whew that was HOT!!! I ate only one of his to try and I would be miserable if I had to eat more lol. His lips were burning by the end. He said next time he'll see if he can order milk. No drink helped the brotha. But he was happy and said those are the hottest wings he's tried yet. The rest of us had buffalo/hot and that was enough. The Arnold Palmer was the truth. Yay! It is hard to come by a good one. It was actually on the menu so I took my chances and was so glad I did. Hubby liked it too! We'll be back. Might have to see what the Mexican restaurant across the way is talkin bout too cuz music was bump-in ya hear me?! We danced on our way into Wing Kings and out.

Stopped in late on a Saturday night with my hubby for wings. Our normal spot (Hen House) was…read moreclosed, so we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best with Hot Chicks and they did not disappoint (food-wise). Even the fries were good. Nice to have a back up wing spot. We placed a to-go order and waited inside. The order did take a while to prepare, and I guess that's good because they were fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive. Music was blaring and on-point initially, but I ended up having to wait in the car because it became too explicit. The bar is small and clean. Some can be grungy, but this one looks well-maintained. They have a modern-day juke box which was cool. I also seen a sign that they have a karaoke night for those who like that sort of thing. When we came there were only like 6-7 people there...all at the bar. There is additional seating. Plenty of TVs to watch sports on the walls. Like another reviewer mentioned, this is definitely a bar first and eatery second. Keep that in mind if this spot is bookmarked. I'm not trying to hang out here, so next time I'll order ahead of time and pick up quickly. I'd like to try a burger. I'm just not the bar type, ya know.

We had the catfish with Mac and cheese and candied yams... and the Big Back Bowl and everything was delicious! Made fresh, seasoned perfectly and the service was outstanding! Food came out within 20 min! The restaurant is clean, and well decorated. For the amount of food we got, the pricing was very reasonable! Ohhhh and the banana pudding, OMG! The best! We will definitely be returning!

Gwada Soul is one of those places where you sit down hungry, order a little bit of everything, and…read morestill leave impressed. I took friends with me and we ordered across the menu. The full appetizer plate, plates for the table, and the Big Back platter. The food itself is what really stands out. Everything is deeply seasoned without being heavy. The highest praise I can give is that nothing is too sweet. That balance tells you the kitchen knows exactly what it's doing. The fried food deserves real credit. The batter is light and airy even though it's fried, and you can taste that it's their own custom cornmeal blend. The okra was a standout. Not slimy, not mushy, held its shape, perfectly fried. That alone tells me they know their technique. The gravy with the cornbread is unreal. The kind you keep dipping into even after you're full. Comfort food done correctly, not rushed, not lazy. The blackened pork chop was loaded with butter. Full transparency, the first one leaned a little dry, but they immediately made it right and sent another without hesitation. Eat that pork chop hot and fresh. It's not a dish you let sit while taking photos. The plantains were different from the Puerto Rican style I'm used to, but they worked well as a contrast bite to all the fried food. Sauces were excellent. I kept going back to the hot sauce without thinking about it. Dessert deserves its own paragraph. The Nutella beignets were the best thing I ate all week. Light, not overly sweet, just right. The rum cake was also excellent and balanced. I also appreciated the little things. The tables have rounded edges, which meant the kids weren't bumping their heads every five minutes. That kind of detail matters when you're eating with a group and trying to relax. Service was warm and genuinely kind. Everyone wanted you to leave happy. Quick heads up. Parties over four get an automatic 18% gratuity. They do have silverware, and they're happy to give you to go boxes. You will need them. The unisex bathroom even had a really nice corner mirror setup. Clean, thoughtful, and clearly intentional. Not something you expect to notice, but I did. The lemon sweet tea is dangerously good. Unlimited refills, and we literally drank the last batch. This spot is tucked away inside a plaza behind the garage and easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Make the turn when you see it or you'll pass it and have to loop back. For three adults and three kids, we were right around $100 including tip, and still walked out with a ton of leftovers between all of us. Even without a couple items being comped, it would still be an excellent value. Generous portions, thoughtful cooking, and food that actually tastes like someone cared while making it. Go hungry. And eat the pork chop hot.
