Walked in and immediately the music was way too loud. I even had to ask the waitress to speak up because I could hear her. We proceeded to wait 30 minutes for the worst food I've ever had. As an appetizer we ordered fried pickles, soggy. (Sogginess and greasiness seems to be the trend here) The wings were soaked and soggy in buffalo sauce. The fries were soggy and greasy. I've been coming to Wing Daddy's here on Montwood and Zaragoza next to the Discount Tire and have always been very satisfied. Every place you go to for retail, service, or restaurant experiences there will always be ups and downs. The key to any place is to see how attentive and engaged they are with their customers and how the final quality of the service and/or product is when it is delivered. With this COVID nonsense, unfortunately there are so many places hiring and needing employees and short on staff, but no one wants to work. This is especially the case in the fast food or sit-down restaurant industry. Last night my wife and I attended and sat at the bar to enjoy a cap to a long Monday. They were steady on crowd, but not too bad. Like a lot of places they were short on their cooks and servers. Well, our bartender Valerie was very attentive and kept us updated on the food orders we placed and provided our drinks promptly. Everything came out on point in great condition though a bit delayed. Upon leaving, we placed some stuff to-go and waited a while but Valerie continued to keep us updated and we thanked her for the updates. The manager on duty Eric came by several times and just like Valerie, he was attentive and provided EXCELLENT customer service and took care of us for the wait though we told him it wasn't necessary. This type of customer service is mostly overlooked from a majority of customers who except anything and everything within minutes and forget the hard work and effort by employees like Valerie and Eric. Both of these employees at Wing Daddy's are excellent employees and are an example of what great service is! Wow. Worst service I've had in a while; they deserve a Dundie Award for outstanding excellence in the field of ignoring customers: I walked in and had a disinterested server seat me at the closest table by the entrence. I placed my order: Spicy mango wings...drums only. Now for some reason, this restaurant feels it has to blare music inside the restaurant at like 1 in afternoon, so I decided to wait for my order at outside patio, which was just as loud with the same blaring music (seriously?) ...whatever. So I sat there and waited ...and waited...and waited...and waited some more for my meal which was a SMALL order of wings. I was sitting outside waiting for the server to at least give me a refill on the club soda and maybe a status on my order. Didn't happen. Another server walked out to take a drive up order to a car. I asked her to please check on my order and she gave me the "okay yeah sure!" response you give to someone you have no intention of ever helping and then never saw her again. About 20 min in I went inside to use the restroom and I walked by my server...like, she looked at me in my eyes as I walked by...like, we locked eyes. She knew I was the forgotten soul with no wings outside in the patio. I finished in the restroom in like less than 3 minutes INCLUDING the hand washing (cause I'm a dude and that's how we roll), walk past that same server on my way back out to the patio (again, she saw me). I sat for another 20 minutes and finally went back inside and told the very same disinterested server to cancel the order because why the hell would I want to eat spicy mango wings with a stomach twisted in rage. She glanced at me with glazed eyes an gave me the slightest "okay, thanks" like I was an afterthought...because I was. I left to pick up my car at the tire place next door which took about 15 minutes to sort out. Once in my car, I drove by the patio and the glass of club soda I actually got was still there. Still hungry, I decided to nix the wing idea and instead met my beautiful wife (no joke, she hot), at Viet on Zaragoza (which I've also reviewed). I called the manager to explain the whole situation. I think my disinterested server was juuuust not disinterested enough to try and cover for her crappy service because the manager gave me some sop of a story about how she had taken my order to me and I wasn't there or whatever. I told him I was in the restroom for all of 3 minutes and was the one that canceled the order. I also challenged him to check outside to see if my glass of soda was out there...he did and it was. Of course it was because not one of their servers even made it outside the patio to see if anyone was sitting out there waiting for wings that never came. He apologized and assured me that he would "take care of her and the situation." Now I'm not one of these mob types that wants to see anyone get "taken care of." I've been to this location a few times and every time I've either been unhappy with the service or food. The server I had when I ate there made the drink wrong and when I asked her what it was she told me it was something else and she didn't think I'd notice. Wing Daddy's actually out-Hooters Hooters (and Buffalo Wild Wings): really good wings, good atmosphere for watching sports, and even though they aren't scandaly-clad, more attractive waitresses. The wings here are actually pretty good: big, juicy, and dipped in lots of sauce. The only flavor that stands out is Tangasaurus, the rest are pretty standard fare. The boneless strips are quite big, unfortunately they are over-fried and the chicken is dry. The fried pickles are alright, but the fries are kinda weak. They do have tons of TVs, which makes it great for watching sporting events, however, even though most of the staff is friendly, whoever is in charge of the TVs is very inflexible. Last time I was here, there were several sporting events going on and they simply refused to change one of the TVs from a re-run of The Simpsons (AT A FREAKIN SPORTS BAR AND GRILL!) to Game 2 of the Stanley Cup because the bartender was watching The Simpsons. I really considered giving them 3 stars instead of 4 because of this incident, but like I said, the wings are pretty good, and I'm not going to knock them because one person that works there is a d*ck. Our server was great, she informed us of their menu and her recommendations. We both had bone in wings of garlic Parmesan, tangasaurus and chipotle raspberry. Being that I'm fairly new to the el paso area I've never heard of wing daddy's. My curiosity led me to try the wings here since wings are my favorite quick meal to eat. Their menu consisted of more than the option to choose wings, but i stuck to my craving. They had the usual BBQ, Hot, Lemon Pepper, etc. etc but what caught my eye was the Chipotle Raspberry flavor. When i received my to-go order I was very pleased with the size of my wings. They were way bigger than wing stop (fav place) and the chipotle raspberry has become my absolute favorite flavor for wings. I started with the Dreamsicle Rita which was their frozen margarita with Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka and a bottle of orange Fanta sticking out. It tasted just like an orange creamsicle ice cream! We tried 2 different wing sauces, Chipotle Raspberry and Lemon Pepper. They were both very good. The chipotle raspberry was sweet and spicy and the sauce was nice and sticky.
