I love coming here especially with my family. They have menudo and caldo everyday of the week. My favorite is the daily specials. The server ladies are sooo nice and always in a good mood, at least from what I've experienced every time I come. Another plate you should try out is the gorditas they are FIRE!!! Love love love the gordita plate. When I normally get the special I'll get the caldo de res and tacos de pollo. You only get two tacos but is so worth it!!! I'm a long time and forever customer here. The menu was large with many options. We ordered the 3 enchilada plate and the 3 Gorditas plate. The food was good. The restaurant was busy and Monica our server was very attentive and pleasant. Came to try the menudo. Could not get through it. I regret not asking for a taste sample before ordering. It had a weird taste from the beginning and the taste stayed. I tried covering up with spices (oregano, chile, avocado, lime), to no avail. Honestly one of the worst dishes I've ever had. Service was ok. Chill environment. I ate here because it was close to where I was working that day. The food was good. Price was reasonable. It was clean, but not at all fancy. To get into the restaurant, I had to go past a table outside the entrance where they were selling prepaid funerals. Inside, a nun had a table selling items. This is a favorite breakfast spot. The food is always fresh and cooked to order. There was a wait to get a table but the orders arrived quickly. Tried and recommended is the menudo and enchiladas. The fresh tortillas were a huge hit, they also sell them by the dozen. Our waitress was courteous and our coffee cups were never empty. Went here earlier! Wait is sometimes long, expect to wait at least ten to twenty on a weekend. Our food is typically very good. I usually eat flautas or their combination plates. Today I ate the steak tacos, they were to die for. My kids got pancakes, usually they are ok. Today they came out cold and the syrup was too sugary for my oldest who loves loves sugar. I know there is always debate on which lunch box is better, I'd have to say the east is starting to be better than this location. Overall not a bad place to dine but not the best either. Giving them 4 stars since the Mexican food is good. Ducking a star due to the wait and the inconsistency of being good and bland the times I've come. They were fried and topped with a spicy homemade chipotle sauce. You can order 6 or 12, I went for the 12 so I could have some leftovers. They were actually delicious and impressed. And I will tell you a big plate of wings for 9.99 is a bargain! It's affordable compared to many places that sell 12 wings! I won't list these places, but, you get the idea. I got the tortilla soup with was unusually thick but very flavorful and they did not skimp on the spices or amount of chicken. From the outside it appears to look more upscale but upon entering it's just a simple place. They had chairs & tables, I didnt notice any booths. Ordering was a little complicated for me. I dont speak Spanish, but I understood enough. I ordered a large Jaimaica, it was 2.25 plus tax. This drink is actually small. I'm guessing 16 oz. Not happy about that at all. Later I noticed my drink had lipstick on it. You know, like someone took a sip & they put a lid over it to serve me. Disgusted & you know I'm not drinking that. The Huevos Chilaquiles weren't that good, refried beans had too much of a seasoning in it. I half expected this breakfast to have a spicy kick. Nada, needless to say I didn't finish this breakfast.
