Came here for a good breakfast buffet. The first thing I noticed was that parking was crazy because of how packed this place was. Fortunate that seating didn't take too long. I had as much food as I could, and almost everything was fantastic. I had chilaquiles, entomatadas, potatoes (two different syles), I had an omelet made to order, and a few other items. They also had menudo and plenty of other things to try. I'll get to them next time. One thing I noticed that was cool was that they have a little server robot for the custom orders. Chi'hua's is one of our family favorites as it meets all of our wants. We're not from El Paso but locals have told me it's truly authentic. We've gone to both the dinner buffet and brunch buffet. The dinner is laid back and full of so many choices. There are tacos, steaks, salads, burritos, enchiladas, and so much more. Breakfast offers traditional choices and Mexican food, too. I had my mom's 80th B'Day Dinner at Chih'ua's on Oct 19, 2024. The pricing for 30 person set menu was very reasonable (they have about six different sets to choose from, our set had flautas, fajitas and tacos al pastor). They give you a private room for a block of three hours, the one price total includes the lunch/dinner, soft drinks and tips in advance. There is no charge for the reserving the room, which awesome. Hard drinks are extra but also reasonable. They also allowed us to decorate the room and have a singer for the occasion, and were even able to dance and have a b'day cake, you know how Mexican gatherings are! The only thing we missed was the piñata! Kudos to our server David as he managed the whole thing very professionally and efficiently, the management was also on hand to keep eye to make sure everything was running smooth. All in all, my mom's 80th birthday at Chih'ua's was everything we could have hoped for and more. The combination of great food, fantastic service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere made for a celebration that will live on in our memories for years to come. If you're planning a family gathering, milestone birthday, or any event that calls for delicious food and a personal touch, I can't recommend Chih'ua's enough. This was a great Mexican buffet! Breakfast- brunch-tacos yumm! All the food was very good and fresh, a little pricey but includes fresh to your order made tacos and other foods, and a drink! The most impressive thing I saw was the robot delivery of your freshly made items- I was mesmerized! It would stop and make difficult turns and come back around if it didn't find your table! I came here on a Friday with my grandparents when my brother came in town. It was my first time ever coming but my grandpa likes this spot so we decided to come bring them. First when we walked in the restaurant it was a little smoky but smelled delicious. Our server Ashley sat us at our table and was super helpful and attentive every time we needed service. They have a menu for you to order food if you don't want the taco buffet but we ended up trying out the taco buffet. Great choice because it was pretty tasty. You can also get made to order tripita tacos or gorditas or anything on the made to order bar. The salsa bar is also great because they have soooo many salsas to choose from. Honestly the only reason I had to take off one star is because the dessert bar was not good. You'll have to order your dessert as extra from the menu. I ordered a flan and it tasted nothing like flan and had a super weird texture. I think I'll be coming back for the breakfast buffet or taco buffet again. Hope you enjoy my food pics:) read more

Lazy Friday with my wife. Decided that some delivery was in order. Nothing like lunch in bed. Haha. Typical Mexican menu which i'm not always a fan of, but they had wings. I always order wings if they are in the menu. My wife ordered some chicken rolled tacos (can't remember name), and they were very good. My chicken breast was large and luckily, not dried out. There was a huge chili of some type and it was very tasty. It also came with a baked potato which I normally do not eat. But it too was good (especially with the green sauce). The wings were of average size and the sauce was typical wing sauce, but we liked them. The portions were large so now we have leftovers for later. The food was delivered in a timely manner and the order was accurate. Will try them again. read more

Chih'ua has been a pretty constant place for me to go eat at every time I'm by the area, I always go for the taco buffet and feast on their variety of taco options for you to self serve. Food is always really good and this last time was no exception, their enchiladas suizas, gringas con pastor and many more options are all great and don't make it any easier on me to decide on what I'll order. The only thing this past visit was that the waiter was in some sort of mood and the service wasn't great, could be better and maybe he was just having a bad day. Anyway I would definitely eat here again no doubt, price is fair, food is excellent and the service may vary but on average everything about this place is really good. Highly recommended. read more

Can't give it 5 stars simply because they changed the way you get the extra tacos and now you have to ask for them in the corner and then pick them up later. I feel that maybe your tacos will get a little cold if you forget to pick them up. Overall? This buffet is awesome, I love the staff and their super attentive nature! Their aguas frescas are delicious they have unlimited pozole and menudo (at least on sundays when i go) plus their tacos sudados are perfect. I always want to eat at least 20 but i can't cause you know i don't wanna die that early. Perfect round up with a great selection of "guisados" as well as delicious pancakes and oatmeal "mexican" style...so some delicious Avena. Their side bar is awesome cause you get some good fruit, granola, as well as salsas, fresh onion, cilantro and all the fixings for everything in the buffet. To my surprise they still have their excellent breakfast buffet on weekends. Tamales, pozole, chilaquiles, etc. Everything delicious and authentic. Temperature checks at the door and gloves for handling food. Service is excellent as well. Look forward to next weekend. read more

I guess the good reviews are for the fact that they have a buffet most days and if you're on a budget that's great I guess but the menu food we ordered just an appetizer las canastas they were called and they tasted like the frozen aisle taquitos stuffed with some mystery meat. Use to be good food !!! Was just there this Sunday ..... and it was terrible !!! They served me a plate of tacos called the (la canasta)it's an appetizer plate served with six mini tacos two chicharrón 2 picadillo, and 2 bean ..... normally very delicious.... But yesterday they brought the plate and as I opened the tacos to put Chile and lettuce on them ‍... Two of them were just the tortilla WTH!!!! And as I looked at the rest of them they were smeared with beans only !!!! I called waiter to have them bring me another plate .... And he came back and informed me that they are out of the picadillo and chicharrón ‍ Waiter was very nice and apologized.... But really !!! Instead of the kitchen communicating they to him and informing that they are out of that ... you are going to give me a plate of folded tortillas!!!! ???? My husband ordered the carnitas plate, which normally they are incredible!!! Was half the size that they have normally been and they looked and tasted like reheated meat . It was so disappointing !!!! And the people at the front (Cashier) Have such an attitude.... Which they get from an older woman that normally does the register , though she was not there yesterday. That lady is very rude! And unpleasant to deal with, but because this place was so good .... We put up with it . But now ! As a regular customer, we won't be coming back . They serve lunch until 1pm, which led me to try their breakfast buffet. The food was horrible, it wasn't fresh and dry, bland, absolutely disappointing. Not enough pastry selection, the cinnamon roll was hard as rock, all the food in the buffet seems as if it were a day before. I wouldn't serve that to the homeless. My husband is Turkish and he loves Turkish döner. When we visit El Paso we always come to this restaurant for the tacos al pastor which are excellent and the closest you can come to döner on this side of the planet. Simple, tasty and light. The place is always clean, service is always good. We have never been disappointed with the tacos al pastor. They come fresh off the spit and the meat is not reheated. Meat is tender and juicy. We had a family birthday party of 16, and our server was terrible from the beginning. The waiter got our drink order wrong and didn't check if we needed refills. There was also a problem with our food order. We even asked management to send him extra help since it was a big party, but they did not. At the end of the meal, he never split our checks and asked everyone what we had eaten. As we waited for what seemed like an eternity, our checks arrived, but once again, all of them were incorrect. Considering we had babies and young children in our group, we had hoped that it could have been corrected quickly, but management took even longer to fix the problem.
