Absolutely the best roast in Reno! I am not a big coffee drinker and caffeine usually gets me geeked up. But I cannot help myself with this places Shaken Brown Sugar espresso. They make their drinks like bartenders, and every step is thought out for each drink. This does make for a bit of a wait if you got some people ahead of you, so be aware. It has never bothered me because the place has a good vibe to wait in by the big window. They utilize house made syrups and have a pretty good seasonal menu all the time as well. There are two main sections and you're able to find yourself a corner if you need to. While I am a fiend for their coffees, the breakfast burrito and food in general is extremely mid, no disrespect. What a great coffee spot! What a hidden gem. Now I'm not big on coffee, caffeine gives me jitters, but from the taste of their matcha, you can tell their coffee would be delicious. It sure does smell aromatic. On South Virginia and Pueblo, the entrance located in the rear of the building reminds me somewhat of a speakeasy if it had outdoor seating. When my friend and I went inside and it was beautiful, with a sort of a modern rustic feel. The menu was plentious with different blends of coffee, hot chocolate and matcha and a food selection I glanced over; but immediately chose their burrito which was served with chips. But now they moved into a very spacious and nice place in midtown upstairs of a small shopping center/building. It's near a steak house, Bangkok cuisine, a jewelry, another restaurant and Miguel's Mexican food. The ambiance is great inside, very chill and nice materials and spacious. They have a good variety of coffees, non coffees, teas, smoothies, and even some beer. They also have a small menu for some bites. Haven't tried them yet but want to next time I go in. I tired the aerocano which is something new to me and it was quite interesting. It wasn't my thing but it was still good. I went back and tried their brown sugar latte and it was really good! They also have a winter menu and we tried their brown cereal latte (which is pretty similar to the brown sugar latte but cinnamon and a little more sweet. Can't wait to try more! Okay this place is a vibe, if I lived here I would bring my laptop, a book, and do work. Make sure to dress warm and it's a pretty time of year. It's quiet, has ample seating, filtered water for guests, and a wall with local events and random things going on. They also have a fridge with beer and zero proof things which I thought was pretty cool. They have a back lot and an elevator unless you want to walk up the stairs. I was very impressed with their menu and seasonal menu and despite it being a Sunday and freezing, their staff were super friendly and smiling when I ordered and received my drink. Huge fan of this cute coffee spot in Midtown! They are located right above Biggest Little Steakhouse which makes it convenient because there is plenty of parking. The latte was the perfect balance of sweet and strong and the espresso roast used in it was divine. The bowl was honestly so good and I've been thinking about it since I ordered it. Their bagels and breakfast burritos look incredible so I will def be adding it to the must-try list. I loved the open and airy vibes of the place and they have a cute patio which is so great for spring. Also, they are open late to either 10p or midnight depending on the day. I love this place but as of recent some of the staff has a bit of a bad attitude... I would consider myself a regular here and really love the ambiance of the place! The food is okay, a little pricy, but the coffee is normally amazing. I'm writing this review honestly because of the way I was treated today. The blonde girl working took ten minutes to take my order (I timed it because I got there 10 minutes before my meeting time and was subsequently late to it). I saw her working hard and that's totally fine but it's strange to get 5 drinks out and not serve the customer that's been waiting. Weird customer service behavior. But the follow up was what made it worse. She took my order and was quite flippant in the interaction. She then made my coffee and it tasted different than it normally does (I get the same thing every time) and did not have the latte art on it. Just feels really petty and immature, honestly. I had no idea they had been open so long!! I thought it was just a few weeks ago...but they have been here for months! I have been to this same location for a number of the different businesses that have been here. even though I am sad to see some of them gone, it's great to see a passionate business owner willing to share his passion with the Reno coffee and food scene. We just stopped by for coffee but decided to stay for meal because a number of things on the menu looked intriguing. I ordered up the Roast Beef sandwich. It had some special slaw on it that was really good. The bread was dried out, so I hope this was just a one off, but next time I will not order the honey wheat that it normally comes on. My wife enjoyed her bowl too. The food wasn't super fancy. Just some simple eats to have with your coffee drinks. And for Coffee drinks I got the Purple Haze and it was good! Sweet but maybe a little too subtle on the berry flavors. My wife really enjoyed her single origin espresso. The space hasn't really changed much and is open and comfortable with lots of natural light and unique views from above a little section of midtown. I love that they have bar seating even if they aren't an actual bar. It was wonderful getting to know the owners as they hustled around keeping the customers happy. First time ever being here and it was a wonderful way to start my day! Since it's so hot, we came in for some cold ice coffee and their specialty drinks were excellent! Very tasty! They have all of the different milk options, which was wonderful. They also serve food and they had a kitchen which most likely means they make fresh food daily. The service was great! One thing that my sister loves when I come visit from Sacramento, is to take me to try new coffee shops. Not being from this area the best way I can describe the location is off of S virginia street. You can see it from the street but it's actually located upstairs and in the back. There is parking in the back but there also can be parking on the street on South Virginia. The space is surprisingly large and very cool. There is a small bar area in the front with open windows which is really cool. There were only a couple people in line before us so we didn't have to wait long and the coffee came out pretty quick. The staff was very friendly and the inside was very clean. I always dig it when a new coffee spot opens up. And I've been especially digging Midnight Coffee's new spot in Midtown. The coffee here is quite good, and roasted in house, of course. They offer all the standard café staples, and make quite the mean cappuccino. But the real eye openers are their seasonal drinks. I had a Pink Peppercorn Latte, and I was most impressed with it. Seriously, give this one a try! They also have teas, juices, as well as beer and wine on offer. As for the food, they have a full kitchen menu with all sorts of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and the like, along with some baked goods and pastries. Their ham sandwich with fig jelly was really enjoyable. And I'm definitely looking forward to trying more of what's on offer. My one nitpick about the food is the portions seem just a bit small for the price, but what you get is certainly really good. I think what really sets this place apart, though, is the location and the ambiance. They are in Midtown, on the second floor of their building. I love the upstairs location, the sort of hole-in-the-wall feel, the open layout, and the small outdoor deck. Plus, they are open well into the evening, and I really can't state enough how cool I think that is, since I would love to see more chill sorts of cafes be open late. So yeah, major props to them on that, too. The only real downside to the location I can find is the parking. The lot is on the small side, with a few tight corners, and many of the spots are reserved for other businesses, so you may have to park around the block. And lastly, I also need to say the service has been outstanding each time I've visited. The staff being extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, I think Midnight is a fantastic place, and are off to a terrific start. there are so many amazing coffee options in Reno, it's hard to try them all! I finally got around to checking out midnight and it was great. It was pretty big inside, and although it was busy, it didn't seem over crowded or too loud. I ordered a hot pumpkin spice latte and my husband got a cold brew with some caramel drizzle. We both enjoyed our coffees very much. I love that they have options for mugs and glasses. I hate using to go cups when I am sitting inside. The area is very open and there was room for our toddler to walk around and explore. This place is so cool, plenty of parking in the lots just be sure to park in the right spots and you're good! You do need to go up stairs to access the cafe but other than that it offers a quiet workspace, beautiful scenery, and freshly roasted coffee! The baristas were so kind and friendly, they had a lot of patience to help us choose what we needed, my boyfriend wasn't feeling too good but that bone broth helped his stomach digest a lot easier! So delicious with the salt and pepper ! The oats and yogurt were amazing, not skimpy on toppings, everything tasted fresh and nutritious! I've frequented their location on 2nd street semi often and always had good experiences. Great coffee and kind staff. So when I was looking up shops to do some schoolwork at, I knew I'd have to give the new spot a go. And wow, they really elevated (no pun intended) the whole experience. The location is ideal with plenty of parking right out front. Just turn right from Virginia onto West Pueblo and there's a parking lot right there. The really nailed down their ambiance too. Happy the black roses made the move. The place looks and feels great with plenty of light and seating to make you feel productive. There's also outlets everywhere and good wifi--- just remember to ask for it at checkout. For the things that matter the most? They nail it. Their coffee is still fantastic. Nice roasty toasty nutty flavors. Their Goat toast is tasty, too. I can't wait to try more of their food! The service is very friendly and quick. They have water available without having to ask which is great for staff and customer alike. The only slightly awkward thing, is the drink menu and food menu are separate, so we decided our drinks and then moved closer to the register to decide for food.
