I've been using Midas-Springfield for the past 30yrs because they NEVER disappoint and ALWAYS exceed my expectations for EXCELLENT work. Ernest & Kenny, the service managers who were on duty during my 1984 Chevy van re-build were exceptional and the mechanics who did the work should be working on the SR-71 Blackbird instead of just rusted out old relics like mine!!! I cannot recommend Midas-Springfield enough - I guarantee you that you will be HIGHLY satisfied with the high quality of workmanship as well as the most reasonable cost for the work performed. I would say this is your typical Midas chain location, but it's not. The reason why it isn't "typical" is the Manager, Dallas, who is great and the rest of the team who are honest strait-forward folks. They help you out as much as they can (but when you need brakes, you need brakes - it'll cost you no matter where you go!). These guys don't BS you like other car repair places. They know their stuff, they know the other shops in the area and if they can't fix it, they recommend the best places that can make the repair. If you need to have routine maintenance done on your vehicle - go to this location. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped by to get Emissions & VA inspection done. When arriving I stood around waiting to be helped. After filing out paper work gentlemen insured it'll only take a few mins. An hour later and I'm still waiting and just now being told I had 2 vehicles ahead of me for inspections. This is wrong for misleading me with the timing, could have told me and gave me the option verse telling me few mins taking my keys and keeping me here for an hour and still counting. I took my car because the check engine light was on. They were unable to determine what was wrong. The guy didn't believe that the light was flashing because he said it didn't show up on the history line on the computer they plugged in. He was very nice and so was everyone else, but I just didn't like how they didn't want to investigate further. I would not have gone there if my engine light wasn't blinking but he didn't seem to believe me. So the next day same thing happened so I grabbed my iPhone and took a video of the engine light flashing and took the car back. He looked at it and said I still cannot determine the problem. So eventho everyone was nice and welcoming I was not happy to see them not want to look more into the problem my car was having. read more

Have to agree with other reviews listed on here - Dallas is the man. He's got a sidekick Tom that is a little off-kilter when it comes to social interaction, but the rest of his staff is friendly and intelligent. Here's a list: 1. They will bring you into the garage to show you what is wrong with your car before they do any real work 2. Dallas and Tom will quote you on upcoming maintenance you car will need 3. The day after you go in for service, you'll get a friendly follow-up from Dallas just to say thank you These guys value customer loyalty - once Dallas saw that I was a returning customer he even helped me find some service coupons online to use. Great management, great mechanics, great service, all-around win. I've been in the shop and seen some people come in and get angry because they "knew" what kind of service needed and these guys told them something different. One lady even asked them for "used tires" one time... Be wary of who the reviewer is if you read a bad review about these guys. read more

The best and professional staff. I needed to get our H2 Hummer fixed to pass va inspection. My regular long time mechanic from a different shop made needed repairs, but could not do one repair because he did not have a welder on staff. I looked on yelp and called Midas... the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful ... yes they have a welder... I dropped our Hummer off with Aaron ( extremely helpful Midas employee) and long story short I picked our Hummer next day and we passed va inspection!!!! Thanks Midas!!! read more

This place is not honest as it looks. I brought my car in for an inspection, there was nothing wrong with my airbag, but they said that there was and expected me to pay $150 just for them to CHECK ONLY not talking about fixing it yet. I took my car there to get the brakes replaced. I walked in and got immediately greeted by Moe. Super nice and willing to explain things to me. Then after a quick brake inspection, the mechanic came to me and talked to me about price BEFORE they performed the work. Even took my mobile coupon off the Valpak app. They had it all done within the hour at half the price quoted to me by the dealership. I just don't get why waste someone time ? I let the GM know I had work and was on a time crunch however he assured me that he will be able too... 30 mins before I have to go to work and it still wasnt LOOKED at. A dealership in Fairfax recommended over $600 of repairs for problems and leaks that my new friends at Midas confirmed did not exist. I had taken my Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in many times for an oil change at Midas of Springfield. I always tell them that I'm only interested in the oil change, and I'm not interested in an further inspection of my fairly new vehicle (2016 Tacoma). In disregard of my wishes, they always perform other tests. Just after the last oil change, I noticed that my vehicle was running rough at higher speeds. It was running just fine before I took it in for the oil change. I took it to Toyota dealership and another car repair shop so I could get at least two estimates of the problem. Both places said I had a cracked drive shaft, and both estimated a cost of about $1200 to fix the problem. Furthermore, the service manager at the Toyota dealership said it was extremely strange that there was a problem with the drive shaft on a 2016 Tacoma with less than 70000 miles. He further explained that drive shaft problems don't usually occur on a Tacoma until there's more than 200000 miles on the vehicle. I called Midas of Springfield and told them about the cracked drive shaft; surprisingly, they said they could fix it for around $400. Well, that's quite a savings! Because I was suspicious about their very low price quote and the fact that the problem occurred right after the oil change at Midas, I decided to have the work done at the Toyota dealership. When the Toyota dealership started working on my vehicle, they noticed that the whole drive shaft did not need to replaced because the damage was solely to the "u bracket" which was cracked, so the repair cost dropped to less than $400. That was the price Springfield Midas quoted me over the phone WITHOUT looking at my vehicle. Could that be just a coincidence, or did they damage the "u bracket" while they were doing an oil change? I can't prove it, but I will never take my vehicle to Midas of Springfield again! read more

I went on a Saturday morning to have my regular oil change and tire rotation completed. The staff was courteous, efficient, and got me in and out within an hour. I especially want to thank Nate, one of the managers there. I had been hearing a buzzing sound in my air conditioner for a few weeks. I had gone to the dealership where I had bought my car to ask about what they could do, and they told me they would have had to charge me a significant diagnostic fee to take a look at it, which I was not willing to pay. However, when I asked Nate about it, he went ahead and looked inside the system and saw that the air filter had not been properly installed and was allowing large debris to get into the air conditioner. For no charge, he removed the filter, cleaned out the debris, and reinstalled it correctly. A few hours later, the sound I had been hearing for weeks was gone. I really appreciated that. I have had bad experiences with other Midas outfits in the past, but this one was completely opposite. I plan to take my business to them again in the future. read more

Had a tire mounted on a new wheel rim on my truck last weekend. Price was more than fair.
