My experience at this Midas has been *exceptional.* The employees at this shop, and Shane in particular, have truly gone above and beyond to help me. And I really do mean above and beyond - they have absolutely done more than most would. One time my car broke down at the King Soopers across the street, and their guys literally *pushed my car* across busy Sheridan Boulevard - and during peak rush hour. They could've just told me to get a tow - instead, they were out there literally pushing my car and blocking busy oncoming traffic so I could safely make it across. It's not just that one incident - there have actually been several times that Shane and the team have gone above and beyond to help me with my car woes. They've helped me save quite a bit of money and quite a few times, and that alone has made them praiseworthy in my book. But they've also provided niceties shops don't need to, like providing a courtesy ride home instead of having me pay for a taxi. My car hasn't been the easiest vehicle, and I'm sure I haven't been the easiest customer, but they have truly treated me like an A+ client. They have been exceptionally honest, ethical, and selfless and have provided extraordinary customer service. Thank you, Shane and team, for going above and beyond each and every time. Took my car in to get an oil change and a precautionary pre-road trip check - easy enough you would think. Nope they broke the oil cap so all of the oil drained out on the highway while I was driving luckily I pulled over so my whole car didn't break so I had to tow my car back to the shop so they could redo the oil change which ruined my entire night. Then they wouldn't refund me the oil change since "that's just not something I can do" because they performed the service in the end. It blew my mind I really didn't even think i was going to have to ask since its such an obvious thing todo. Infuriating dealing with people like that. General advice to the store- a refund is definitely something you can do. Next time I'll take it to one of the other 100 shops in Denver who can preform this basic service. Went in for an oil change several months ago. After being told I needed a new water pump and finding out from my other mechanic that was not true, I swore I'd never go back. Today, after getting my next oil change, the new mechanic informed me my oil cap had been previously broken. While I can't say for certain Midas broke the cap, I do know they never informed me it was broken. Save your time and money (and oil caps!) and go anywhere else! read more

They lied right to my face!!! went to get a Lyft inspection done here, they said my brakes had 3 mm left. I told them I just had a family friend check them and he said they were fine. They then gave me a quote of $1000-1200 to replace all 4 brake pads, which is double what the average cost is! I drove down the street to Jiffy Lube for the inspection, and they told me my brake pads had 10 mm and that I definitely did not need new brakes! I've never been so directly lied to and deceived by a business before, I would definitely not trust a thing they do!!! read more

Mechanics break parts in the car to charge more money. Charged 1800$ for an alternator after breaking many parts in the car including the radiator which was working prior. Made a appt for 4pm for my alignment and I saw my car outside for about 50 mins before I asked about how much long my car is going to take they said it will be a hour once they get it up finally at 5pm my car went up and was done around 540pm I paid $83. Went here for an oil change and tire rotation cuz I had a coupon. Well, once I drove it away, I noticed the tires sounded funny. I booked an appt for a front wheel alignment. When I got there, they asked why I felt it needed one and I explained why. He was extremely condescending to me. His mechanic came back within 10 minutes and they told me I needed struts and shocks all the way around. At this point, they didn't even have it on the lift. My estimate was for almost $2000. I felt uneasy about it and had my husband take it to our regular mechanic & we were told it didn't need anything, that my struts were all ok!!! We Inquired about their services about two months ago for a flat tire. The shop is right around the corner where we live and convenient for walking distance. My wife brought in our car to hopefully get a plug since the puncture was in the tread. When my wife dropped off the car, the mechanic, Jake, who "helped" my wife was very off putting and rude. Since we needed our car soon, we decided to move forward and entrust Midas in the evaluation of our flat tire. Jake said he would call my wife within 2 hours. Unfortunately, that was not the case, I ended up calling back after 4 hours and spoke to Jake. He mentioned that he was just finishing a quote for a set of new tires for us. Huh? I was told we would need to buy 2 new tires ($700) because the fix a flat that was used for the flat tire "flooded" the tire. Calling out his BS, I told him I never heard of fix a flat "flooding" the tires and asked him why can't it be wiped out with some soap and water. He insisted that the tire was ruined beyond repair. After the conversation, I told him that we would take our business elsewhere. When my wife picked up the car, Jake was still insisting that he was right and still very rude with my wife. Thank goodness we did not buy new tires! We ended up taking our car to GoodYear and they fixed the flat tire with a plug. The mechanic at Good Year mentioned that some mechanics use the "fix a flat" issue as a selling point for new tires because they are too lazy to wipe up the "fix a flat" mess. I recommend questioning everything they do at this Midas location. Please be careful! read more

After a routine oil change, my oil light and engine light came on, I returned to them to ask them to look into the matter and was assured my oil levels were fine and that it was a matter of bad sensors. Given that my car had never had these replaced I figured I'd deal with the sensors after my finals and go about my semester. That is until two weeks later my engine seized up and my car was toast. I was advised by their employees to get an outside diagnosis and if something came up to have my car towed to them for inspection. Got the outside diagnosis and found that not only did my car have zero oil but zero coolant and zero compression as well. I physically visited and called over 5x only to have the age of my 162,000mi FORD blamed and told "our district manager will be in touch". To this day I've heard nothing. Used my tuition money for spring semester towards a down payment for a new car with zero trade in value on my old one, and am about 2grand deeper into student loans. Save your life the trouble, DO NOT GO THERE. read more

I'd always heard horror stories of people getting terrible service andwork done at chain car shops. I cannot describe to you how much I wish I had listened. Haha. It's taken me a while to write this review, just because I was so incredibly frustrated and upset with the way things ended up going with these guys I really just didn't want to think about it. I took my car in because the A/C was shutting off/dying after driving for around 20 minutes. They end up doing an in-depth diagnostics and give me a list off issues needing to be repaired, and a price estimate of 1000. I gave the go ahead, and within the day of taken it in I got my car back. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. On the car ride home, the A/C died in essentially the same fashion as it had before. Thus began the game of me taking it back to them only for them to give me wide range of answers to my concerns. The first time I took it in, we noticed that there was no coolant in the car. They had forgotten to replace it when they gave it back to me. One of the workers filled me up, and sent me on my way. Issue resurfaced. "I mean we fixed the A/C, it's not our fault there's more to be fixed" So fixing the A/C system means getting it to blow cold for less than 30 min? This guy then showed me an estimate for other repairs they wanted to do. ~700 dollars worth of work. "Don't worry, we won't charge you for the extra time spent looking into this 'new' issue" Is this even real? "Hey next time you come in we'll give you an oil change, on us" Never got this. "We just cannot get this thing to replicate the problem" I could literally drive it and get the issue immediately. What was interesting was that there were two guys who I would interact with. One was kind of a jerk, and the other would be super nice but essentially do nothing different than the other. After about a month of stress and feeling like an idiot, these shenanigans came to an end. On my fourth visit the manager wasn't in and I requested to be contacted when he returned. I was given his business card, which when dialed actually just called the front desk of the shop. They never got back into contact with me. I was down ~1000 dollars, and with nothing to show for it. Eventually I took the car into a reputable family shop. They diagnosed the problem as being a malfunction in the clutch of the compressor. They replaced it for 400 and I haven't had problems since. These guys did not own up to their mistakes, tried to press the blame on me, and evaded me. They offered absolutely no help or empathy for the situation. If you are getting your oil changed, I think these guys can do that. Just don't trust them with serious car issues, and don't go to them just because you're in a rush. read more

Preface by saying: A few months back I gave Midas a great review. However, this time I took my jeep in after a failed emissions test and I had them run a diagnostic test to see what needed to be fixed. (the report read CO, O2 sensor, and gas cap failed). When I went in to get my Jeep they said I needed $2500 in repairs (from replacing my manifold, header pipe, catalytic converter, O2 sensor, muffler, spark plugs, and tail pipe). I asked them specifically what I ABSOLUTELY needed to pass emissions and he said ALL OF IT except the muffler and tail pipe!! I brought a friend in with me that didn't agree with them so we left and that night my friend put an O2 sensor on and changed the wiring and cap for the spark plugs (which were platinum and new). I took it in the next day and it passed emissions!!! I spent $100 vs. the $2500.00 they wanted me to pay. I assume that since I'm a woman they tried to pull all that shit over on me. While the staff was really nice and accommodating even though I did not have an appointment, I would not recommend Midas to anyone, for anything, ever. My mother swears by them even though she always seems to spend a ton of money for all of her car problems... I had a minor issue, but they wanted to replace my entire exhaust system. All I needed done was the exhaust pipe reconnected to the cat, which they told me was impossible due to damage to the cat. After initially giving me a $1700 estimate (for my $1500 POS car), they got it down to $1563. If I wanted to add in my tires that were on the verge of blowing out supposedly, it would be $1927. I told them I didn't want to invest that much in such a cheap car but they said there was no other way to do it. I had gone to the Midas around Hampden and Wadsworth previously and got my oil changed for $20. I swoop into the Midas on 38th & Wadsworth and they tell me to cough up $32 + tax. I inquired and the dude told me some stores are corporate owned and some are franchise; hence the price discrepency. So I hang out and watch Tyra Banks act a fool for 20 minutes and then I go up to pay and the guy is very nice and knocks the price down to $20 which made me ecstatic as I was extremely broke at the time. After my previous review, Midas customer service was responsive to my concerns and both the district manager and the location reached out to me. It turned out that several other manufacturer recommended 120k maintenance services were performed: (a) transmission flush, (b) power steering flush, (c) coolant flush. Although---- I would have preferred these flushes were communicated to me as distinct flushes prior to service, rather than presented to me as a single "take it or leave it" coolant flush. That way I could have spread out the cost and gotten one additional flush per oil change, as I did not anticipate having to spend $441.89 that day. My car was not experiencing any issues and I anticipated only spending $40 for an oil change. However ----- I am no longer upset thinking I was charged $400 for a coolant flush that normally runs $100-$150. It turns out the prices I was charged for these flushes are fair, and squarely within the average price range for such flushes. One aspect I enjoy about Midas is when I visit same-owner franchises, they keep electronic service records so I don't have to keep track it myself and have a ton of paperwork clutter everywhere. read more

After taking my car for a wheel alignment at two other shops and being told parts were broken and needed to be replace etc (which I did not believe ,since my vehicle has very low miles on it) , I took my car to Midas on 44 and Wadsworth. To my surprise and relief! they did the alignment, no broken parts found! only thing was rusted screws, on which they had to used a torch to loosen them and do the wheel alignment properly. So nice to know that there are still honest mechanic shops out there, such as MIDAS!!! I highly recommend this place!! read more

I strongly recommend anyone else other than MIDAS for brake service. I recently stopped in to have my brakes done. I was advised that the rotors needed to be turned. I said "Sure, go for it". A week later I thought I'd inspect the work as my brakes felt a little spongy. While inspecting I noticed a rust ring around the outer edge of the rear rotors. This would indicate to me that the rotors were not machined even though I was charged for it. I took my vehicle back to MIDAS and they confirmed that the rear rotors had not been machined. Instead of allowing them to work on my vehicle and remedy the situation I took it to the dealership which performed a full inspection and found that none of the rotors had been machined and the brakes were missing spacers. The main issue here is UDAP, Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices. I'm concerned for anyone else who might be affected by not only this MIDAS but any MIDAS for that matter. BE AWARE. read more

Came in for an oil change and a free "peace of mind" overall inspection. They came back and told me I needed about $1,000 in repairs, mostly with my brakes. I then took my car to 2 other mechanics and they told me my brakes have at least 50% life left in them still and they don't need the repairs that Midas told me I needed. I feel like they took advantage of the lack of auto knowledge I have and wanted to squeeze as much $$ out of me as possible. I now don't trust this Midas location. If you aren't sure about your car needs, go to another mechanic shop you can actually trust. read more

I then took my car to a different mechanic for the brakes, said that my car was in perfect condition and didn't even need any of the other BS Midas was going to try and charge me for. This store is my goto place whenever I have work that needs to be done on my Chevy Colorado or Toyota Tacoma. This year I had brake work on the Colorado and ignition work on the Tacoma. I'd give this place a negative rating if I could. I thought I had a coupon for a free AC inspection from Midas but I couldn't find it so I called and they said they'd do it without the coupon. I set an appointment, went in, and thought we were good to go. The guy running the front desk, Jay, called me back up before anyone had even looked at it - I know this because they hadn't even taken my key yet - and told me that I'd have to pay $71 and change for them to diagnose my AC problem. As I handed him my key (his hand was open and waiting for it) I said, "So there is no free inspection?" He replied, laughing (no joke), "No. that's just to get you in the door". I recently took my car in for another oil change here and was still impressed. The staff was very friendly, even to my three children, who I had with me. The bathroom and waiting area were very clean, which I appreciate. After inspecting my car, the manager let me know that I needed a new control-arm bushing, and that they could get it handled for me. After checking around at a couple of other places, they definitely offered me the best price. I really appreciated their honesty, prompt service, and courtesy. Love this place! read more
