I went in for an oil change. There were only two cars in front of me and yet I waited for TWO hour for my car. The service technician came out to tell me that the front and rear differentials needed to be done. I had already had them done 6 months ago, but they told me they needed to be done again. They also said the service is recommended every 15,000 miles. Funny that Subaru recommends every 30-60k and 30k is really only if you are towing heavy loads frequently. This place is just looking to rip you off. I would recommend avoiding them like the plague. read more

They put the wrong radiator fluid in. They lost a hose clamp and replaced it with a cheap generic. They broke my radiator cap. They charge premium prices at subpar service. Had I not flushed the system prior, it would've been a catastrophic failure when they put the wrong stuff in. GM OEM fluid will turn into a jelly like consistency when mixed and block passages. Go to your mechanic instead. I'm new to Denver. I didn't think anyone could mess up such a simple task. I would've done it myself but I was packing for a camping trip and thought this would give me a much needed break. I was wrong. P.S. GMs use Dexos. It's red. Don't switch to the green stuff. Dexos will last you five years easy. The green stuff needs to be replaced every two. Franchise profitability Vs customer benefit. Which side you think the owner is on? read more

I really really want to depend on this location for my oil changes. But come on now!!! I just wanted my oil changed. Don't check my tires, remove my air filter, put a wrench on the rear differential and transfer case and try to sell me crap I didn't come here for. The $60 oil change is already ridiculous. They're nice enough and they had me sign something that said they recommended new air and cabin filters and transmission flushes and everything that wasn't my $60 oil change. But when I left today I drove home and found a lot of oil dripping into my driveway. Old dirty oil just dripping all over my concrete. So I popped the hood and was trying to see the source. Well what do you know! There's your shop rag! Are you kidding me? So I drive back over and ask if they can please check that the damn car is sealed and that's just really messy work for my $60 oil change. They brought my car back in to the bay, cleaned the mess they made and gave it back to me. There are bolts missing and it's going to be a pain getting that crappy oil changes for of my driveway. I went in on 10.3.2019 and dealt with T.J. they were pleasant enough day of. Fast forward to today 10.10.19 we got our first Colorado snow. Got in the car, hit the wiper fluid to clear some mud and nothing came out. Went back to the location and asked (abruptly because yes I was upset that something I paid for didn't get done) for them to add what I paid for. T.J. was there again and gave me an extreme attitude. Tossed my keys at me once it was done and said "bye buddy". No apology not even the slightest glimpse of empathy. I confronted him about it and he shrugged me off and said "step out of the car and we can deal with it". I've been going here 7 years and have never been threatened like this. I had my oil changed here a couple of weeks ago. John and his team were so friendly and courteous. They vacuumed my car and cleaned all my windows! The waiting room and restroom were so clean. Fast forward to yesterday, my battery lite was on. I stopped in, they checked my battery, filled all of my fluids, checked the air in my tires, washed my dirty windows. No charge!!! I took my car 2 months ago for an oil change. I was told that I needed a battery so purchased one. I also had a warranty on the new battery. Then my car was not starting after I had been running errands. I went to my mechanic and he said it was the battery. I went back to Grease Monkey and they told me that the battery was good. I told them the problems I had been having and I insisted they replace the battery. After the 2nd battery had been installed the car was doing the same thing and not starting after running errands. Went back to my mechanic and he said the batter was defective and not holding a charge. I went to Auto Zone and purchased a battery and my car has starting ever since I bought the battery. Do not go here for an oil change!! I live in Parker, but just happened to be in Lakewood for work, last July, and needed an oil change. I searched for the closest oil change place to where I was, and this location came up. The ONLY reason I came to this location was due to proximity. I handed over my keys, they took my car and loaded it into the bay as normal. I thought this would be quick oil change, but things seemed a bit odd. It took a little longer than an oil change should actually take, but I really didn't overthink anything here, just that it was taking a bit longer than normal. They finally finish up, I pay, get my keys back and I'm on my way, all seems fine! Fast forward to now. I went to get my oil changed again, only this time I'm using Service Street, an amazing auto shop here in Parker, that has never let me down. I get news from them that the oil drain plug has been stripped and will need a little extra time to figure out how to remove the plug. I'm a little miffed at this point, but understanding. Maybe Grease Monkey just over tightened the drain plug. A few hours go by and I get more bad news from Service street. It seems as though the drain plug had been epoxied into the oil pan, and the only way to drain the oil is to break the oil pan! a broken oil pan repair and service cost around $1000.00!!! This Grease Monkey location just cost me a $1000.00 oil change!!! Why in the $&@# would you seal up an oil drain plug into an oil pan with an epoxy weld, and not even tell me you did that??!! Only reason I will ever go back here is to see if I can get reimbursed for the damages they caused. Never ever will I let these people service my car again, and neither should anyone else let them lay hands on your car unless you like forking out loads of cash for future repairs. read more

Very friendly and efficient service! This was my first time here and the crew took care of my needs very well. They very thoroughly went over all the checks/fluids checked and topped off (tires, air filters, etc). They also went over all of the manufacture recommended maintenance schedule and were very non-pushy in their discussion of offerings and recommendations. Certainly a bit more than changing the oil myself (which I normally do regularly), but the convenience and thorough job these guys do is worth it. I would return and recommend this location based on my experience today. Update: had an issue that was very appropriately and courteously responded to by staff and manager Justin. Came on a Sunday. The guy checking us in said they were out of conventional oil. He went on to explain that they get a shipment every Monday and they "ALWAYS" run out by Saturday. Ummm.....WTF?!? Either they are scamming customers by forcing them to upgrade to premium, or the manager is an idiot. In this case I think there's a high likelihood of both. I had a pretty poor experience here a few weeks ago. Went in for an oil change, and an employee told me one of my headlights was out. I asked what it would cost to replace and the price seemed reasonable, so I said go ahead. After the work was done, the employee called me up to the desk to pay and said, "I guess I was way off on the cost of that bulb." Turns out it cost more than double what he quoted me. He then offered me a discount, but the final price was still more than the quote. Most frustrating was the attitude and lack of apology when I said I was disappointed. I am surprised to be writing this review as my first few visits here were good experiences, but this really left a bad taste in my mouth. Would not recommend purchasing additional services here. read more

I wanted to give a big shout-out to Nathan who took time to help me yesterday. I drive a Subaru Outback and I was recently informed my tail light was out. I typically go to a Subaru only mechanic, but since it was a tail light I was sure Grease Monkey could help me out. Well, it turned out to be a bigger issue than just the tail light and Grease Monkey was unable to solve the problem (which seems to be electrical). However, Nathan did spend about an hour trying to find the solution with me. Though we were unsuccessful, he had a great attitude and genuinely wanted to help me. I went in for an oil change. Simple enough, so I thought. I waited a very long time, by the time they came to tell me my air filters needed replacing, I had already been there for an hour. I could understand if they were overly busy, but they weren't! I told them I couldn't wait any longer for them to replace my filters, as I was on my lunch break and had already been there too long. They finished up the oil change, as I paid for the extremely expensive oil change service, the guy at the counter says, "oh, by the way your transmission is leaking." I said, that's weird, my car hasn't left fluid anywhere, but it's under warranty, so I'll have it checked. Took it in to the dealership to have it checked. Guess what? No Transmission leak. First time at this location...wow! Asked how much the windshield wipers were and the installation. The manager had said $24.99 each! I didn't realize they are so much! So I opt on that. When finished they did not check my tires (my tire light was on). Had to refill at home. Sure enough the tire pressure was off on two of the tires. Dirty water or a dirty rag was used to wipe my windows! So there were many dirt streaks on the windows. The "needs oil change" light was still on in my truck now I am wondering if they put fresh oil in my truck? They did not reset the light. I will not recommend this shop to anyone! read more

this is my go to place for oil changes. I have been to other locations and this one is superior. All staff members are friendly, professional, and informative without pushing additional services. I have been the only car, and one of five, being served and each time I have not waited longer than expected. I have recommended this location to co-workers. ** if you need to head north on Wadsworth, may I suggest taking the back way out. Turn left out of Grease Monkey and turn right at the stop sign (Allison). This will curve you around to a stop light. Much easier than attempting to cross the traffic. ** read more

I can't give more than 1 star since these Harvard grads violated state law by not getting my signature on the work in advance for a transmission fluid change. They quoted $140-180 for the work. When it was done, they handed me a bill for $199. If they're not familiar with state law on this, I would be very surprised. Needless to say, I have to file a complaint against them with the state. I have had my oil changed a few times here. The guys are super quick, and they show me everything they've done before they charge me. They explain everything really well so I can understand what they're talking about. The price is comparable to other areas. On Wednesday's, right now anyway, they have a ladies day where ladies get 10% off!
