Do not use this place. I drove up and asked for the basic - basic $69 oil change. Plus the basic fees. Then the guy walks up with the air filter, of course. And that's fine. Happy to have the filter changed if needed. Then the next guy walks up and say he changed out the rear differential fluid and was working on changing out other transmission fluids.. I was not are this was above any beyond the services I asked for. Well when I was at the counter paying I was walked through a grand total of $409.84 of charges. Ya. That's right. Now , I chose to not bother arguing these poor people working there who are complete scammers, I am electing to address this at an ownership level. Complete BS, beware of you have to go here. Bought oil change. They said they checked everything and added air pressure to tires. Paid and went outside to check the car and the clips for the cab air filter where on the dash and not back where they belonged, they said the put all tire pressures to "35" as I checked one of the rear tires the tire was close to flat )when I came in it was fine). As I drove off the whole bottom cover of the engine started dragging on the pavement.. I pulled off to the side of the road to check and they had broke the plastic that covers the engine from underneath and didn't clip it back on. Also there was engine oil all over the place on this piece of plastic. Worst place to get an oil change! And super negligent staff read more

They did the oil change very quickly, but then took well over a half an hour to return my keys and take my payment. Had enough time to walk home and get my second set of keys, and suddenly, they were able to take my payment so I could finally leave. Making someone wait that long to give the car back after an oil change is disrespectful of the customers time and was not a good experience. read more

Google Reviews are much higher. I was surprised to read that, starting around 2024, there must have been a change in mechanics. Reviews don't change that quickly. This Colfax location had high stars, great reviews, and awards for years, In the spring of 2023 and again in the fall of 2023, I took my car there. Both times they provided excellent customer service. Most importantly, they were completely honest with me. Being a retired woman, it's often not the case. I'm writing this review now so you continue to go there. The first time was an emergency oil leak. It was only a loose oil closure cap. They could have sold oil services that weren't needed. The second time it was a bad battery problem. They could have sold me a new battery but instead, mentioned it was still under warranty and to take it back. Also, he asked me to bring it back to check that it was installed properly, that's customer service. I'm going to continue using this Colfax location. It might help beforehand, to mention my concerns, and that I know they do great work, and hope the shop hasn't been losing business. Enough already. read more

Fantastic place! I've been going here for years, and I've always gotten great service. But just today, I went in since my service sticker date had been reached. Rather than going ahead and charging me for a full oil change, the mechanic (Trent) actually let me know I still had 1000 miles available before I'd really need service. The team checked and topped my fluids, INCLUDING a top-off of my oil, which is actually covered within 3000 miles or 3 months. And they didn't charge anything for that. Just an excellent place! My stepdaughter brought her car into Grease Monkey #76 back in May 2024. Somehow during the oil change they damaged the AC system which would require new parts from the manufacturer to get the AC repaired. The parts needed to be shipped in. Unfortunately she was moving out of Denver before the parts would arrive. This was all communicated with Ryan from Grease Monkey. They agreed to pay for the repair once she got the car to where she was moving to. Unfortunately, after we got the car repaired, they disappeared, leaving here with over a $1000 repair bill. I have personally changed the oil in this car numerous times. I have no idea how they did so much damage to the car while changing the oil. You are taking your chances brining your car here for even a simple oil change. Nobody responds to the info you put in the website she mentions in the comments. Its just for show. read more

This is not an honest business. I sent my 17yo daughter to this Grease Monkey today to get her oil changed. 15 minutes later she called me and said the technician was telling her 'something about a filter and the power steering fluid'. I said, yes they'll top off the fluids and replace the oil filter. About 20 minutes later my daughter returned to the house crying and handed me the receipt. On the receipt I discovered she was charged $393. I then looked at the 3 page receipt and immediately understood that she had been victimized. I bought my daughter a 2013 Honda CRV from a dealership in July. It had been fully serviced prior to the sale. Furthermore, I personally changed the oil with her in August and we also changed the air filters. I wanted to teach her how to take care of her car. Noticing he had an easy mark, when he checked my daughter's car in, for "MILES SINCE LAST SERVICE", the tech entered 86827 miles. That was the total mileage reading on the vehicle indicating to his computer that the car had never been serviced since it left the lot in 2013. That little trick of course then produced a long list of overdue service requirements which he then bamboozled her into accepting, including a $200 power steering system service (which could not have been done in the 20 min she was there either). I drove over to the location and confronted the technician. I pointed to the MILES SINCE LAST SERVICE entry he made and said "That is dishonest". His response was ... "Well she signed it and called someone". In other words ... 'yeah I scammed her but I got away with it so tough luck.' The Technician, who said his name was "Oswaldo" would not give me his last name and would not return the funds he swindled from my daughter. read more

Wow. Fast, quality work. HONEST. I drive very little so hadn't had an oil change in years. I basically to told them that I expected them to call saying I needed more maintenance and that I was prepared to pay for whatever they recommended. You know what they recommended? Nothing extra at all. I needed the change, but otherwise my car is perfect. See them in 5k more miles. I also got absolutely above and beyond customer service, and all this while these poor folks have to wear dark overalls in 100 degree heat. I came in for an oil change and essentially got what I asked for but overall the experience was pretty meh. I know not to expect much from big chains, but there were just a couple of things that could've made things better. I arrived around 3:45 and the place closes as 6. Without any announcement, the receptionist began mopping the floor around the customers with a pretty chemically smelling cleaner. She was also on her personal phone talking pretty loudly. There were about 4 customers in the lobby. One guy even began to cough. When I got my "recommendation" report, it was the same costly recommendations given to the guy right before me. I asked if any of this was based on the conditions of my car and was told no, it's just based on mileage and general recommendations given by the company. Came in for an oil change and the guy I spoke with was just completely lost, he was Mexican (so am I) he barley knew any English so I tried my best to respond in Spanish (I know about 90% Spanish) and asked for an oil change and told him what car I had, he said it'll be about a 30-40 min wait I kept telling him that that's fine but he just kept looking at me confused and walked away, I tried talking to other employees but they would go hide in the office when I would ask for service. Good Place 4 An Oil Change I've been going to this Grease Monkey for about 2 years now. The staff is always nice and very proficient. My only complaint with the workers there is that they always try to upsale me into services I may or may not need. I'm not mechanically inclined in the least, so it makes me uncomfortable when they tell me that I need this and that or my car will explode upon leaving. I'm exaggerating of course, but that's what it feels like to me sometimes. I've learned to just stick to my guns and say, "Oil change only, please." I save the other stuff for my trusted mechanic. A few other things of interest at this store. They have a coffee pot out that usually has some coffee in it. It's not Starbucks, but I think that's a nice touch. The waiting area is a bit cramped, however; and, the bathroom is not always the cleanest if you know what I mean. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE....Had brake work done. After initial job brakes felt off and making noise. Brought it back and they said could need additional work. They did more work on all the brakes. Still making noise. Took car to a GMC. They sent me a video and let me know Grease Monkey left the bolts off of the front brake caliper. Was driving around like this for weeks. Got my car serviced for an oil change on 6-16 and my cars engine seized up 6-19 due to an oil leak and all the oil spilling out of my car. Maybe it's just coincidence, but now I have to get a new engine installed and to even properly diagnose my broken engine is 6 hours of labor. Don't risk it. I regret going here. The last time my partner went here with his truck -- they charged him for wipers but didn't install new ones and he had to go back to get the job finished. I should have known better. :( read more

The service was good but nearly no COVID precautions were taken. I pulled up wearing a mask, the service technician i interacted with got right up to my window. No gloves, no mask, no social distancing what so ever. Same with the cashier and the rest of the crew except one who wore a bandana for a mask but no gloves. Chairs in the waiting room were crowded together inches apart. Customers had no guidelines on keeping apart from each other or staff. I'm so mad at myself for not just turning around and leaving. They swapped the tire for our full size spare and plugged the nail damaged tire all within 20 min. read more

I'm writing because I just picked up my car from their Cap Hill location and the manager Danny Berrios was extremely rude to me. In fact he told me he hopes I never return. That's after I had to wait nearly four hours to pick up my car, because no one from your shop called me to say that it was ready for pickup. What a waste of my time! I was displeased when my bill came to $99 (laughably expensive!) and I was expecting $76+ tax. When I expressed my surprise and dissatisfaction to your manager Danny Berrios, he told me that I could leave and he would file a police report against me. All I did was express that the employee named Zane did not delineate pricing structure to me when he showed me your laminated sheet. He verbally said 75.99 for synthetic oil change and did not mention extra fees for more volume, service fees. So I was surprised by the high price I was being asked to pay. I only want to be charged the fair price that I was quoted. Your manager Danny would not honor that, even when I told him that I am a first time customer and no one explained the pricing to me in full. Zane merely flashed the sheet and stated the listed price of $75.99. Instead Danny Berrios threatened me that i could pay in full or he would file a police report against me for theft of my own vehicle. What a disgusting way to treat a first time customer. On good faith I paid the bill in full, but I am extremely angry with the unprofessional, poor customer service your manager gave me, his rude sass and threats. Additionally, he would not honor the $5 coupon from your own web site. To make things worse, by the time I drive home, tire pressure was low in one tire. They were only 2 months old. That tire was completely flat by morning. After telling me he hopes I Don't return, Danny said he doesn't mind if I give your business terrible reviews for his terrible customer service, "because you have enough good reviews and he doesn't care what I think." They did not screw one of my wheels in completely after I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. There was a few subtle symptoms the days after, but didn't become super apparent until I was on my way back from a long road trip, when strange noises from the wheel area became loud exponentially worse over a period of two or so days. Literally everything else was fine with my car except one of my wheels was very loose, due to some loose lug nuts. Was very grateful to have caught it and fixed it in time, I had a 600 mile drive ahead of me that day and could have been seriously injured or killed had I put off checking it. I screwed the lug nuts tight myself, finished my road trip and have driven about 5,000 miles since then and have had no additional issues. Just yesterday my car overheated on the highway in Colorado Springs and completely shut down. The technician there forgot to fasten the coolant. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! Took my car in to get the oil changed. Noticed about a week later that the oil gauge was bouncing around while driving. I immediately checked my oil to find there was absolutely no oil in the vehicle. I was able to get under the car to find that the oil plug has not been tightened all the way and the car had leaked all of the oil out of it. After taking a photo of this, I was able to refill the oil and hand tighten the plug to have a vehicle to drive to work. Shortly after, my car overheated on the side of the highway and was no longer drivable. I called the manager to get things sorted out and was eventually directed to the owner. The car was towed back to this Grease Monkey to be looked at. The owner was incredibly rude over the phone and stated that the water pump was out and that they did nothing wrong, despite having a photo of the loose oil plug just one week after getting my car serviced. After weeks of back and forth phone, the owner has simply started ignoring my phone calls to get the issue resolved. Parts of the door panel they took apart to assess the car were left on my driver seat and not put back together. My car is now totaled and this location is taking no responsibility for their actions. I would highly recommend never taking your car to this Grease Monkey location for any services. read more
