I scheduled a routine oil change with them yesterday. While I was unsuccessful in getting an oil change, I was met with exceptional customer service while working with one of their Technicians (Keith). Before attempting to do work, he took the initiative to inform me of a damaged Oil Cooler Filter Housing which was dumping oil all over my transmission and out of my vehicle. He was gracious enough to top off my oil, enabling me to drive it to the dealership where they were able to address it under warranty. I will definitely be returning to them in the future for maintenance and regular oil changes. read more

Very impressed! A shop in Arlington tried to scam me during inspection - got a rejection for brakes! I suspected it and took it to Midas near Metrotech, Chantilly. Debra was very courteous all the way. Matt is the technician there and did a wonderful job. The whole team was very professional and honest. My car doesn't need any brake jobs now. I had an annual inspection done here in conjunction with fixing a tailpipe issue. Work was satisfactory - cost on the high side but not sure how much better it might have been in another shop since i did not want to drive off with a failed inspection sticker and "shop around". There's a reason this place has such good ratings. It 100% deserves them. I was in Chantilly and staying at the nearby hotels with a friend. Her car needed an oil change pretty badly so I took it over while she was busy with work. I went in through the back door and was greeted by absolutely everyone. They're so busy I had to make an appointment for later that day but the car was in and out in about 45 minutes. Friendly staff, excellent service, and great prices. No pushy sales pitch or fake broken things that need to be fixed immediately. The ONLY downside is that they're so busy it's hard to get in but please try to. read more

I've been to this Midas location many times for oil changes, inspection, etc....basically anything that isn't a warranty or recall work. They have always been upfront with me and have never tried to tell me I need something that I don't. They are always friendly and have the car done in a reasonable amount of time especially when you make an appointment. read more

I visited Chantilly Midas solely based on yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed.Debra was charming and very concerned with me being entertained/occupied while waiting for my muffler to be installed. I fully agree with Brian D. Excellent customer service and very honest in their work. My first experience was when I sent my 17-year old to have his muffler replaced on our 1989 Toyota 4x4 PU. They treated him with respect and were excellent communicating the repair details with me. At that point I was sold. I brought in our older son's car and asked them to make sure it is safe for him. He drives regularly between NOVA and Blacksburg so I was concerned. They made NO attempts to tack on and extra service, we just paid for an oil change. Just took my car in today because of a very noticeable squeaking noise while driving at lower speeds. I dropped the car off right around lunch time and was called with an hour which they had diagnosed the problem. The problem was a bent backing plate and they clearly explained that it was a very minor fix. It was ready very quickly and was able to pick it up shortly after work. All in all I was very pleased with the service. Before this I had went to Mr. Tire in Fairfax which was very unprofessional and needless to say will not be back there. After the exceptional service that was given by Midas today this will be the place for future repairs. Overall a quality shop and will be back for future repairs! read more

I never use yelp but figured I had to after going to Midas.I took my car in and already knew what was wrong. They quoted me $300 which was high but okay.i brought it in and they looked at it and the quote jumped to $600! All I needed was a new flex pipe ($30) welded in.This should be a hour job at the most.They said they had to remove the turbo flange which is 100% false. I took it down the road and got it done for 250$. If I didn't know about cars like most average joes I would of been out 400$. Do not go here people!! just trying to save you the money of these theifs! read more

I wanted a second opinion on a break service that my Nissan dealership urged me to have immediately to the tune of $500. Stopped by on a Saturday morning to this Midas, and the great team said they'd check it out for me and let me know what was needed. Imagine my surprise when I get a call about an hour later letting me know that my brakes were in great condition and wouldn't need to be serviced for a long time. They also did a once-over on the car to make sure everything else was in good working order. I came here a few weeks ago for an oil change/inspection. Ended up having to get my brake pads/roters replaced as well. The guy who worked on my car was super nice and took then time to explain everything to me. I had a couple of questions about the payment methods accepted and he didn't have a definite answer so I headed into the waiting room while they figured it out. Right away (seriously right after I sat down) another guy came out and explained everything to me. Talk about speedy service! They did the repair really quick and at a competitive price. The only thing that I didn't like is that they charge $94 for a check engine light diagnosis which you can get for free at other places. Overall experience of workers/high level of customer service without the high price. Definitely going here in the future for oil changes/etc. read more

Simply put, these guys rock! Had an issue with my 4runner. Misdiagnosed by 3 other shops, including the local Toyota dealer that said it was $3100 to fix, turns out that wasn't even close to the problem. Matt the shop foreman was relentless in hunting the problem down. Personally I think auto service is Where are you? overpriced, but I feel I got a more than fair price for all the effort these guys put forward. They have my future business. I stopped by this Midas just to obtain a price quote for a part and labor. A mechanic had to find my vehicle in a strip mall parking lot and physically drive my vehicle around to the back of their shop where there is their garage. I told the the guy that I already knew the check engine light code and wouldn't need a diagnosis. I just simply needed a price for a o2 sensor and how much to install it. After sitting in their lobby for over ten minutes, the mechanic told me the same exact thing that I already knew: My check engine code and a very high priced estimate. Then, the front desk guy said I owe $20.00 for a vehicle check-out fee, when the mechanic did nothing other than drive my vehicle, which I didn't need done and/or the same diagnosis I already stated to him. So after giving the mechanic a $20 bill after two minutes of work, I left very upset. I would never go to this place again, and will not recommend this place to anyone! read more

What a wonderful shop to take to your car to to have it serviced. The front office people are so nice and courteous and the techs are very professional. Also, their prices are very reasonable and they take the time out to explain everything to you in plain English. I would absolutely LOVE to give this Midas, and Matt, the tech who worked on my car, a glowing review. They fixed my car promptly, (Matt even stayed late to fix it - which I surmise is the root of my problem) they allowed me to bring my own part to save on cost, and were quite friendly. I cannot leave anything but a scathing review, however. This shop, and Matt specifically I imagine, are liars who use deceit to shirk responsibility and accountability. I had a CV axle replaced, and in what I assume was Matt's rush to get home after staying late, the lug nuts on the corresponding wheel to the repair were not properly tightened. About a thousand miles and a few weeks later, I did some brake work myself, and discovered that 2 of the 4 lug nuts were GONE and the other two were not even finger tight. I was enraged, knowing that the only time the wheel would have been off the car was when Matt at this Midas replaced my CV axle. I called the shop immediately and the receptionist said the manager was out of town, but she would have Matt call me back today when he got in. He did call me, and immediately dodged all responsibility concerning the lug nuts. His story was that he did not have the wheel off the car at all, and did the repair with the wheel on. While I imagine it would be possible to do the repair with the wheel on, it would be difficult at best. Not only that, when he was doing the repair he even told me I needed new brake pads, which is IMPOSSIBLE to determine without removing the wheel. So he either lied to me then without actually checking, or he lied to me today when he said he never took the wheel off. My guess is he lied to me today. Simply put, in order to save his backside, and probably his job, as well as the money I wanted refunded, he lied to me and gave me a short list of reasons why my lug nuts could have just jumped off the car *themselves*, and to "keep an eye on it". This is an outrage, and I would definitely think twice before taking your car here. If you do, make sure to check over all of their work (including lug nut tightness) BEFORE you pay or leave the shop, or take it to another mechanic immediately to make sure they did not leave you in an unsafe/potentially damaging situation. read more

Customer for life! I stumbled into this place because I needed an oil change IMMEDIATELY one day (I'm not good at car stuff) so they got me in pretty quickly and changed it. And then reminded me to change it more often. Very casually the mechanic said "aside from the body damage your car internally is in great shape." I said thanks and left and didn't think anything of it. Two weeks later I hit a nail in Vienna and needed a new tire. Took my car to the nearest place I could get to- Just Tires. They told me I needed a new serpentine belt and it was going to cost me $4,000. I was skeptical because of what Keith had told me only two weeks earlier. So they fixed the tire and I was on my way. I brought it in to Midas the next day and told them what happened and asked if they could look at the serpentine belt because apparently if that doesn't work you'll get stranded. They took one look at it and said "those guys are trying to rip you off, there's nothing wrong with your car, no charge, have a nice day and come back when you need another oil change." They have never told me anything was wrong with a car except an oil leak (which I knew about because there was oil in the spot I park my car in every day) and a tail light out (which cost about $10). They're never anything but honest with me and they're all very friendly. Whenever a friend has a horror story about a mechanic overcharging, I tell them to go here. read more

This was BY FAR the WORST experience I have EVER had at ANY car service shop,or any other place for that matter.the staff was rude,I was the only one in the store and it took a full hour to get my changed. Which is ridiculous. I had only bought this car this summer and upon my father telling me to go get my oil changed, I went. What I told the woman was that I had bought the car and I had driving it about 5000 miles since then. I told her I had no idea what type of oil was in the car. As I'm waiting, I see her, the manager, and other staff members a number of different times. The ONLY time anyone came out to speak to me was when the manager asked if I knew that the rod that held up my hood was missing. I told him no, it was not missing. It was inside the car because the clip wouldnt hold it. Other than that, no one spoke to me, gave me any estimate, or even did anything. Without informing me or telling me what kind of oil I had in my car, they put Synthetic in it. I walked in there expecting to spend $20-$30 on an oil change. They tell me because of the Synthetic oil, it was going to be $70 something dollars. I had to fight with the owner, but after I fought with her for 5 minutes and she rolled her eyes and charged me $29.99 for the oil change. If she had told me what the price would have been, I would have walked right out and gone to Jiffy Lube. I ONLY went to Midas bevause it was across the street from where I was at the time and I was hoping for a simple in and out, stress free incident. As I was checking out, my chip card didnt go through even though the transaction had clearly gone through my bank (which I showed her) and as I was already fusterated and upset, I became more upset at this woman for making yet another mistake. The manager then YELLS at me and tells me that I'm being rude, which I was, because I was upset that someone could be so incompitant. Also right before they worked on my car, another customer had just left and they were blatantly complaining and talking badly about him in front of me, which screams unprofessional in every front. Because of this awful experience, and because as far as I know, they put Synthetic oil in my car without asking me, I will be telling every single person I know to NEVER step foot inside a Midas for ANY reason. This was hands down the worst experince I ever had and I cannot believe how unprofessional, rude, and incompitant these people were. This same review will be posted everywhere because I refuse to let any poor unknowing person be swindled and screwed over by these awful people. read more

I called Midas on a Thursday around 11:30am, by 5:25 my car was in for it's oil change. Amanda at the front desk is really pleasant, kind, and very helpful- excellent customer service. The tech who was working on my car was very nice as well, he came out to explain a problem he noticed and asked if I wanted to book an appointment, he wasn't pushy or forcing me into fixing it then and there which is appreciated because sometimes I feel forced into a car repair other places I'm not totally sure it needs or I want before further research. This was my first time here- it's in the strip mall with Little Caesar's and Backyard, literally in the corner between the two. I wasn't quite sure where to park so I found a spot a few rows back and headed inside, when my car was ready to be taken to a bay, Amanda said the guys would pull it around for me and not to worry about bringing it around, which is also awesome because I don't know if I could've found my way to the right spot haha. They checked to make sure there were no additional electrical problems, installed my new battery, and also gave me an estimate (which sounded very reasonable) for my 90,000 mile checkup which is due. I brought my Evo 8 here to have the rear tires replaced. I came in not really expecting fantastic service only because of my past encounters with car repair places. Midas truly woo'ed me. They were very thorough, they were efficient, and they were extremely thoughtful. I wanted to keep one of my rear tires as a back up spare and my mechanic had wrapped my tire in a plastic bag in order to keep it from dirtying my trunk. Seriously, they went the extra mile. I just had an oil change today at this Midas and I was really happy with my experience! The staff was friendly, welcoming and obviously paid attention. A few staff members who I didn't even meet said goodbye and thank you 'Lindsay' as I walked out. I really appreciated that they learned my name and were kind. But the best part was that they didn't try and shove additional services down my throat. Every other place I've been too always tells me 100 things that I should add on to my oil change (filters, flushes etc). My catalytic converter had rusted and snapped off at the joint. I was looking for a mechanic to weld it back into place which was going to be a cheaper repair option then replacing the whole part. I spoke with the service manager, Mike at the Chantilly Midas. He had my car looked over, noticed my inspection was due, notified me what was needed to be done in order to pass. The difference is Mike will take you to your car, show you what needs to be repaired, gives you an estimate of the cost and when the car will be ready. No hidden repairs or fees to surprise you. They were honest and upfront. Even noticed my brakes were not tightened correctly and corrected the problem. I will be a repeat customer and will be referring Midas to my family and friends. I would just like to start by stating that I do not look for anything "over and above" when it comes to getting my car fixed. I don't want anything special, just charge me a fair price and fix the problem. With that being said, these guys and gals are the best all around. I have been bringing my cars here for years. They have been able to diagnose and correctly fix ANY problem with ANY car I have ever brought by. From newer model cars all the way to my car that is over 20 years old. Every person you come into contact with here is a pleasure. And believe me, sometimes with an older car, you have more than one problem at a time. On many occasions, they have fixed the major problem and told me that I can wait on fixing the smaller one. I have never been pressured into paying for a service that I was not comfortable with. And the prices are more than fair. The best part is that the things fixed stay fixed! Friendly people, fair prices, knowledge and competence. Really, what more could you ask for? read more
