The bead is amazing! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is short order with, although delicious, limited ingredients.. Breakfast was only meal tried. First breakfast was poached eggs on bread with hollandaise sauce. Very tasty and fast prep. The second time I had veggie scramble with hash browns and toast. The hash browns could have been crunchier; however, it was July 4th, so the fact that the eggs were cooked well was satisfaction for me. They have a tofu scramble that I did not try, but would imagine it is also tasty. The cafe knows what a 'shot in the dark' is and that was a pleasant surprise. They have teas as well. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. I do not know what kind of cheese was on it but it was not edible. It really doesn't take much to make a grilled cheese. The place was dirty and the open, full trash cans were certainly not appealing. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the food my husband and I received there. It was 17 plus tax for two sandwiches and a small cup of soup. The sandwich was ok, but the broccoli cheddar soup was the worst id ever had in my life. It tasted like hot water flavored with a little cream and pepper... Def not a broccoli cheddar and definitly not worth 17 bucks. I may go back to try their lattes but not their food!!! it's gross so save ur money!!! read more

Looks like a good idea, just dont. I got the roasf beef sandwich and it was like chewing on a piece of beef jerky. The baguette did not taste fresh or homemade. My husband ordered what was supposed to be a chili pie but was an onion and pepper chili topped with 5 fritos. He also got a tasteless italian chicken wrap. Ceasar dressing tastes spicy? There aren't many options in this part of Granby but it was a decent, clean breakfast joint with friendly staff. I had a pretty sub-par breakfast burrito that was basically just potatoes wrapped in a tortilla, but the coffee and hot chocolate were delicious. Be sure to listen carefully when they call your order because they will leave it under the heat lamp without you knowing your food is ready. read more

Was very excited to try out this cafe for breakfast on our second day out here in Granby. The menu was very diverse and even had gluten free options (which was great for my boyfriend!). When we actually arrived though, the service was confusing and the teenagers who were working seemed to be bothered that we were there. One kid was training on the register and his trainer was abrasive and overcharged us for eggs. The food looked alright when it came out, but the skillet was covered in some old-looking, grainy "cheese sauce" (if you could even call it that) which made the entire dish taste awful, not to mention the fact that the potatoes in the skillet were boiled and cut in halves instead of cubes. I had asked for no mushrooms and I guess they completely forgot about that. The gluten free blueberry pancakes looked amazing but tasted sour somehow. The eggs were both done very well and the turkey was pretty good, so I'll give them that. But overall, spending $25 for two continental-breakfast tier meals and a 20 oz water was not a very good start to the last day of our vacation. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Mid Town Cafe is just about the only place in Granby to get a "quick" and easy mid-day meal. The food is OK and getting better as they grow into their business. Just be prepared for paper plates and plastic utensils which I personally hate for dine in service. Their baked goods are tasty, but I cannot get a consistent latte to save my life. Seems as though someone new is "training" on the espresso machine every time I wander in for a coffee. Having been a barista for over 4 years, I really have to keep myself from slapping their hands every time they stir a latte and block all the foam. And for this I pay the highest priced coffee in town? The service is a bit unique too. Every cashier I've ever had seems nonplussed and bored with her job. After that, you need to keep your ears open for your name to be called which they rarely do very loudly at all. Apparently, there is no need to worry about anyone on the other side of the counter. The trash business and self-bussed tables are also confusing. They seem to want to be eco-friendly with 4 (yes, 4!) different trash cans for varying needs. But that doesn't take into account the different tableware tubs and various "save the chip bag" campaigns that seem to always be lurking. People always stand there confused as to what to do. Basically, you enter and are met with an overly assertive trash transfer station. Not overly appealing. After all that, I know it sounds like I'm saying NOT to go. I'm not, really. They just have some bumps to iron out. PLUS, I'm very proud of them for supporting the Friends of Grand County Library by selling used books on site. So save your cash for lunch or breakfast and skip the fancy coffee. At least until someone stays employed there for longer than a month. read more

Lots of options here from the standard Denver scramble to pastries and bagels (including gluten free). The gluten free stuffed French toast was actually really great, I bet you couldn't tell the difference between the gluten free bread and the regular. Portion sizes were perfect. Surprisingly great food and comfortable setting! The only downside to this place is that you have to stand in line to order. If the cashier gets a beverage order, she has to stop the line to step away and make the coffee, etc., which really slows things down! :) read more

Still waiting for my meal 45 minutes later, espresso and latte were horrible. This restaurant put a coupon in the fundraiser for the local high school and then had no idea how to honor it. I am trying to support local business but when they are this bad it is hard to do. To give them a little credit, it is a busy morning but then Sunday morning usually is for breakfast places. Very cool and relaxed environment. It's also a used bookstore. So you can spend a long time in there if you wanted with comfy couches. The food was pretty good and the pastries and coffee were also very tasty. They have a few GF and vegetarian options which is nice. My husband got the philly on focaccia and said it was excellent. I got the Mediterranean on GF bread which tasted like it sounds. The green chili soup was very good though! The almond joy latte was good especially pared with chocolate croissant which they heat up! Please give the cooks a raise because they do a fantastic job making the Mid-Town my all time favorite place to eat. I tend to order the hot salmon salad with cranberries, walnuts and ginger but when I branch out I'm never disappointed. The vegetarian poached eggs on focaccia bread is unbelievably satisfying. If I'm in a hurry, they'll whip up a scrambled egg on a spicy toasted bagel. It's the go-to place for satisfying food. Having library books for sale near the cozy seating sections makes it even more inviting. read more

The egg breakfast was good except the side order of pancakes were too thick and plain. I also received wheat toast when I ordered rye. I couldn't tell if the girl at the register understood me when I was ordering because she kept asking what had already been asked or answered. Prices were good. I have lived in the area for a while and feel this spot is a good addition to Granby. Their food is good and I like their cinnamon rolls and chocolate croissants. But they are a breakfast / lunch spot and stop serving breakfast around 11am on a Saturday. While I was there more than 5 other people came in to get breakfast and were all disappointed with no breakfast, and 3 groups went elsewhere. This is a vacation area and you need to serve breakfast all day. I can't imagine turning away customers because you can't figure out how to run your kitchen with both. Got lunch and a salad and had to ask for dressing on a very plain salad with a lot of yellow cheese on top. Place is priced upper end sandwich spot - the salad should be much more. read more
