I stopped by the perk on my most recent trip to Winter Park and really enjoyed The Perk. They roast coffee at the shop and it's good quality! The shop smelled amazing when we walked in. My partner tried the seasonal lemonade cold brew and I ordered a seasonal blueberry cold brew. I really liked the seasonal lemonade cold brew. It was well balanced and not too sweet. The blueberry cold brew was just ok. It turned out to be pretty milky, almost like a latte, without a strong blueberry flavor. The barista was nice and made good recommendations. Next time I'll try a regular flavored latte. The inside is modern but cozy. The layout is open with a concrete floor. The interior seating is cute with little tables and couches. There's also some seating outside. There is free Wi-Fi for working in a laptop. The seating out front is definitely dog friendly and I did see some individuals bringing their dogs inside while ordering. They have bonfire breakfast burritos, grilled cheese, and a couple pastries such as muffins for snacking. I'd recommend coming here to get caffeinated and try one of Colorado's most popular breakfast burritos, bonfire burritos, to fuel your day in Winter Park! read more

5 Stars - Cozy Coffee Spot with Great Matcha! The Perk is such a great spot in Winter Park! I got a matcha latte with oat milk, and it was delicious--smooth, well-balanced, and just the right amount of sweetness. At $7, the price was standard for a good matcha. I love the interior! It used to be inside an equipment shop, so now there's tons of space for tables and working, which gives it a really open and welcoming vibe. I've always loved the coffee, service, and ambiance at Perk, it never disappoints. The house roasted beans make amazing coffee of all kinds and the schwag is creative and cool. There is more seating/space now, but the local pastries are the best addition (or new 'perk'?). You know how a certain popular coffee shop that ends in "bucks" always has coffee that tastes burnt or like it was sitting in a carafe all day? Not this place! It was perfect, and the burrito was yummy! Indoor seating is limited, especially in the winter since a it usually too cold to sit outside but it seems like most people don't linger for long. The employees are friendly and I like the vibe and convenience of this spot! If you are in the area it's a nice spot to stop for a cup of coffee! This shop shares a space with an outdoor clothing/supply shop. Very convenient to grab gloves or hand warmers or boots or whatever else you might have forgotten. A coffee shop AND a retail store? I've gone to heaven. Located on Main Street in winter park it's a cute space with small amount of seating inside. Through our condo rental we were able to use some vouchers to offset the coast of 8 hot drinks but even still it was moderately priced $5 for more drinks. I didn't really care for my SVL but I did enjoy the shopping experience. So many coffee shops near by, I might venture out to try another shop. read more

First checked The Perk out in 2018 when it was in the former location and had the best London Fog. Cut to 2023 and a quick trip to Hot Sulphur Springs and a couple of days of soaking in the hot mineral waters and I found my way back to The Perk for a visit. The new location is quite nice and includes a small outdoor clothing and shoe business inside. It is always nice to be greeted with a friendly smile and I may be wrong but, I think it possibly could be the same gentleman that served me all those years ago?? At any rate, I ordered another London Fog because- why not?? I appreciated the oatmilk option on the menu which I snagged and this London Fog was just as good as my first. It's like drinking a dessert! We chatted about the roaster behind the counter that is a prototype soon to be replaced by the new and improved version and of course, discussed all of the beans - our barista was fantastic with descriptions and recommendations - I came home with two bags - but, every one of them could easily have made their way back with me, they all sounded so good. There is a little spot to sit with high top counter and chairs to work with wifi if you feel like staying a while. Next trip I will stop early for a burrito. The non-vegan options (including a veggie) are from Bonfire in Golden (IYKYK!) and there is a vegan option from another vendor - again, appreciate having the veg options. Definitely recommend a visit when you're coming to town or driving through. Fast, cozy vibes, friendly service, and excellent teas and coffee. read more

Coffee is good and better than big brand types, and staff accommodating and friendly. Cute coffee house in Winter Park! The seating is comfortable and homey. I had an apple cider with caramel and a piece of housemade pumpkin bread. Both were delicious. They have coffee, cocoa, kombucha etc. The food items are breakfast burritos, muffins, house made cinnamon rolls and breads. You can relax and take your time there. They have an outdoor deck for warmer weather. Located on 40 in Winter Park across from Cooper square in a free standing home like building. Street parking free. read more

My brother and I saw this place from Hwy 40 and had a nice chuckle over their "drive-thru" which, sincerely, is a route around the property's dirt lot to an open widow to order. I was pleasantly surprised by their delicious coffee! Theirs was really smooth and not at all bitter. It came with coffee cubes too - such a great touch! I loved it enough that I came back to bring one to my campsite and for another on my way back to Denver. They were out of pastries and muffins the morning I came (8am on a holiday weekend, strange) so I settled for a breakfast burrito... And I think it was really old. It was pretty bad. I am talking, I paid $5 for crusty tortilla and old, dry eggs and potatoes. I could only take one bite as bits kept snapping off and/or getting stuck between my teeth. So while I am very happy with the coffee, I definitely drove the 2hrs home on a mostly empty stomach. Free Wi-Fi with a 90min limit, plenty of places to sit inside and outside, easy access from the highway. I'll come back just for the iced coffee. read more

The Perk moved from one end of Winter Park to the other. The new location is in a beautiful building and shares space with a couple other neat businesses. Overall the quality seems to have gone unchanged and they now offer more evening beverage options. I still recommend you come by if you're in town! read more

I lived in San Diego for a few years, and in the beach towns on the coast, the coffee shops were places of mindfulness and rest, mirroring the beautiful coast that I and the natives experienced each night. The Perk in Winter Park, CO accomplishes the same effect against the backdrop of bold mountains and an endless sea of trees. I came here during summer on a warm day and The Perk was a chill reprieve from the baking sun and I can only imagine that it would also be a warm hearth during the cold winters. The interior of coffee shop is beautifully decorated in with industrial sheik elements that is modern but comfortable as well. The couch, chairs and tables are inviting for a cold or hot drink and conversation with a good friend. More importantly, the drinks themselves are delicious and of an excellent quality. I ordered "The Shed", a latte with caramel sauce on ice which I would recommend. The team at The Perk are also very friendly and inviting, giving the whole shop man upbeat atmosphere. This is a really cute little coffee shop right on Hwy 40 in Winter Park. They didn't have many options for breakfast food, so we opted for coffee and tea instead. My iced tea was made nicely and I was offered a lot of options. My companion opted for an americano and said that the coffee was flavorful and hit the spot. We sat out on their patio for a little while, but the construction nearby was pretty noisy and was hard to ignore. The views and fireplace on the patio add a lot of charm to the space. I bet that patio is great at night or on cooler days with the use of the fireplace. There were a few others seated inside chatting and a couple working on their computers. There was a variety of seating inside and the space seemed very comfortable and clean. They do have one unisex bathroom for patrons. read more

We stayed the night at the Best Western just across the street. Luckily for us there was an independent coffee shop for us to wake up to so deliciously before continuing on our cross country road trip, back to D.C. from California. I came inside and was fascinated by the set up. This place is really beautiful! Not only that but it's also super clean. There is a nice long couch to lounge on, not that I used it at all, I sat at the high table and did some writing. I asked for an iced mocha and it was superb. The cashier was very polite and professional. I would make it a point to come back here if we come through Winter Park again. read more

Great decor. Unfortunately, there was way too much emphasis on decorating versus perfecting your coffee making skills. What a tough crowd! Don't expect to get a greeting or smile. The hip mustaches would get ruined. Either that or they just woke up hungover. I ordered a soy cortado, and I'll admit soy milk CAN be tricky to steam. After the second time of steaming the milk, both dudes stared at the drink and offered it to me, hoping that I wouldn't notice the disgusting curdling of the soy milk. I had to ask for a latte, and they asked if it had to be soy milk? There was almond milk, but I'll be honest. If you can't steam soy milk, you won't be able to steam almond milk. The Perk moved locations and switched roasters in 2017. The new roaster used, Common Wealth, is far better and I highly recommend the Ethiopian light roast if you prefer that style.
