It looks like a taco. Sponge cake, whip cream and strawberries. That's it. The simplicity and freshness is perfect! They didn't add a fake jam, just fresh strawberries rolled in the most perfect sponge. It was light, great texture, really good flavor. The whip cream was simply whip cream. Not pastry cream or a fake whip cream. Every pastry should be this simple but perfect.

There's enough room for a group and there's a few window seats along with booths and tables. Has a few local beers on tap including Around The Bend. It's about $12 for a small pizza. Got it and the crust was fluffy while being crispy. They charge per each topping and these aren't cheap so we only got mushrooms. Other menu items include calzones. These are great if eating it yourself and not wanting to look like a pig. For sure it's another pizza place but this is way better than average. It's located close to the Central Street Metra station so it's convenient. They're closed Sundays.

There were five of us and one couple decided to share a couple appetizers as their entrees. They ordered the Cauliflower Buffalo Bites, and the Macho Nacho. They were huge portions easily enough for us all to share. However, my wife and I don't see eye-to-eye with our eating habits (she is mostly vegetarian and I'm a card-carrying carnivore), so she was not about to share the smoky wings and cheesy tots with me. I opted for the Chicken Vesuvio entree, and she and our other friend both ordered the Inside-Out Grilled Cheese. I would say most the sandwiches looked good (no portobello for me, thanks). I would say though, the desserts are pretty generic, so we opted out, but their is a door inside the restaurant to the donut shop next door (which was closed), but I wanted to try that place, so I'll have to make another trek out there for them and review them later. I'm amazed that the donut shop, DB3 Donuts, does not appear on their menu at all, despite having a connecting door from one establishment to the other, but alas, I've heard their apple crisp and brownie are good, but neither were too appealing that night. All meals were delicious and I definitely need to go back and try other dishes. And may DB3, if they are open. Give this place some love as it is a nice gem in Evanston.

Ahi Tuna Wanton (mango jicama salsa, avocado, and teriyaki sauce) This should be their signature appetizer).The presentation is impeccable. It appealed to our eyes before the 1st bite. If I were to come back here I would order that again, it was a nice light yet complex flavor profile which made me savor every bite. Overall good place for an upbeat fancier meal and I highly recommend the coconut curry braised chicken if you visit. She had the Gardein Chicken Sandwich, which is plant based except for the mayonnaise on it. The rest of the menu includes bakery items like cookies and pastries. For sure this is one of the pioneers of vegetarian places around the area. It's closed Mondays. They accept reservations.

I was also thrilled that E&V's soda machine had Cherry Coke. Although I didn't stay long, the restaurant and restroom were both clean.
