I came here on Saturday for an early lunch. It was easy to get a table and ordering is easy with the touch screens. The food came out pretty quickly. I got the soft scramble sandwich and it was delicious. The egg was perfectly cooked. I want to try the other sandwiches and the other offerings there. I tried the side of kimchi and it was hot. I was not expecting kimchi to be hot as it's normally served cold. I think it would have been better cold.

Can only speak to the food as we ordered breakfast to be delivered. The steak Sando was delish. I think the steak bowl was alright, sometimes challenging to tell if it's the right cut of steak. It was a flavorful breakfast nonetheless.

Eggs with Benefits is a newer addition to Rogers Park and I can only imagine what it's like to have such a cool breakfast spot on Loyola's campus! They have Asian-inspired egg bowls like a doshirak and Japanese curry hash bowl as well as delicious egg sandwiches! We tried their Slagel Sausage and Egg sandwich which is an incredible combination of slagel farms pork sausage, soft scrambled eggs, cheese, garlic mayo, chives, and caramelized onions on a brioche bun. Service was quick and there was a lot of space for seating inside! I would LOVE to return and highly recommend you check it out!

First of all, love the name it's very cute and spot on. We ordered the slaver farms sausage sando's this morning which were pretty good. Very savory bites, but I think it needed a vegetable like arugula or a sweet jam to balance out the cheese. My husband absolutely loved it exactly how it was. We also tried out the doshirak which we both absolutely loved.

Place has potential but still not ready to play with the big boys. My dislikes were the sauce wasn't plentiful albeit being responsible for 90% of the flavor. I also didn't like the fact that steak was sort of ground up thus leading it to be messy & most of it residing or falling into your plate. Cheese was correct & the prices are on par with most of the city at around $12 a sandwich. Again decent sandwich but far from the best in the city.

Great scramble eggs in all the dishes and having them in traditional and less common ways (doshirak and Japanese curry). Would have loved to have less plastic (bowls come in ready-to-go takeout bowls which you can slap a lid on for leftovers to take). Would have been fine with tap water (not sure what beverage is best here if not coffee). Canned calamansi soda might have been one option. Of course tap water in a plastic cup is only part-way better than plastic bottled water...just looking at a better beverage pairing while keeping costs down in this counter-service small staff approach. Much more impressed with the egg skills here than another breakfast sandwich place in RP. Thanks Will and Andrew for another great launch in the RP area.

Let's be honest - we all had a rough morning. Maybe you're running late and experienced the dreaded ghost bus, or maybe it started to storm and today is the day you didn't pack an umbrella in your bag. Whether the cause is, I'm a firm believer that a breakfast sandwich can fix everything. My sandwich was buttery and rich, and the owner was warm and friendly. Definitely a needed morning pick-me-up in my books! You can tell how much care goes into the food here. I could write poetry about the caramelized onions!

Both staff members were so friendly! There was plenty of seating (which surprised me on a Friday evening). For an appetizer, I decided to try the Korean Corn Dog (which was marked as "recommended" on the menu). It was strange (though beautifully presented) - I was expecting something a little more savory or spicy for Korean - it was actually oddly sweet, with a Vienna-sausage-sized odd-tasting "dog" surrounded by a large, almost donut-like batter, and what seemed like a sweet ketchup and mayo kind of condiment pairing. It wasn't bad - it just seemed like it didn't know whether it wanted to be an appetizer or dessert. The shrimp pad thai was terrible. The shrimp were hammered -- so overcooked that they were leathery and tasteless. I think this is the first time I've had a dish with shrimp where I didn't finish the shrimp. And the pad thai itself was a gummy mess with no freshness - nothing green - no green onions or any vegetables other than bean sprouts, which had no crunch. There was a little bit of dry, tough red cabbage on the side. The crushed peanuts and lime helped, but not enough. A lot of local people (who seemed like regulars) were stopping in to pick up to-go orders, so I have to believe there is good food here. But I didn't get it.

We arrived right at opening for dinner service, along with only one other couple. We were allowed to choose our own seats, which was a nice start. Our server asked if we wanted cocktails, and we ordered draft beer from the menu -- only to be told they no longer serve beer on draft. If that's the case, it really should be removed from the menu. The service throughout the evening was unfriendly and rushed. After taking our order, the server quickly removed all the menus from the table. Since we were ordering sushi, we likely would have ordered additional items if we had been allowed to keep a menu. One of our favorite items at most sushi restaurants is the salmon skin hand roll, but this version was terrible. The salmon skin was extremely hard, dry, and difficult to eat -- more like stale pork rinds than properly prepared salmon skin. Normally, salmon skin is lightly broiled and served warm in the roll. This tasted as though it had been deep fried long before serving and left sitting in a container until needed. When the server asked how our meal was, we politely explained the issue with the salmon skin. Rather than acknowledging the concern, she insisted that this is how it is supposed to be made. The rest of the food was just average at best. Honestly, because we came at the beginning of dinner service, much of it tasted like leftovers from lunch. We still left a tip, but after several disappointing visits and consistently rude service, we will not be returning.

This place really has atmosphere. The waitstaff are more than happy to go through the menu and help you decide what you're in the mood for. Just be warned - when they say it's spicy, it's *really* spicy, which is great if that's what you want (I do!). Good to have authentic Asian fare in the Northern reaches of the city. We decided to check out En Lai Asian Grill on Broadway. It supposedly opens at 11AM, but when we tugged on the door it was still locked. Seconds later the proprietor came to open the door, and we sat at the window table so that we could watch passersby battling the elements. We practically had the restaurant all to ourselves during this early lunch slot, and that was fine with us. We were pleased that they offer lunch specials, and they are good on a Saturday as well. Each lunch special comes with a can of soda. I went with a plate of beef lo mein, certainly a decent sized portion for lunch that satisfied my craving for noodles. My love enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken, which comes with fried or white rice. It was nice that the sauce was served separately in the bowl (with a few chucks of pineapple) so that they do not soak the breaded pieces of chicken. I wouldn't say En Lai is a destination restaurant, but the food is pretty decent and our total bill including tax was under $20 for our two lunch specials - not too shabby. Now about that rain...

These two were $10. Now, if it an extremely high-quality, expensive cut of fish I might be more understanding. Something simple and slightly elevated doesn't make the cut. A better value was the Crazy Trio. This roll did not skimp on the fish whatsoever. I also loved the use of ginger within the roll itself, and want to recognize that neither the tempura nor the sauces were heavy-handed. Too many places go overboard to the point of cranking out "mayonnaise rolls" more often than not. This one sells for a much more reasonable $16.95 While prices can be hit or miss, overall, Nori Sushi delivers on above-average quality, but not at the level of more premium sushi spots (like Blowfish on Bryn Mawr, for example). When it comes to the service, while the food came out in a reasonable time frame, I felt it was otherwise a little inattentive. Final verdict: Nori sushi is a fine neighborhood sushi spot, that isn't a destination by any means, but works for when you're craving sushi and are in the area.
