The meals have Asian influences / fusion and they're really good! I had the Japanese curry bowl and it was filling and delicious. I had it for two meals that day. My wife had the bacon and eggs sando which was really good too! The staff was also easy to talk to and chill about questions. The Japanese Curry bowl is a large bowl of rice covered in soft, scrambled eggs, genuine SB Golden Curry, with a crispy hash brown potato on top. Each bite was full of flavor, and it was gone before we blinked. Washed it down with a cup of freshly squeezed OJ and a black coffee, and I was ready to meet the day. I came here on Saturday for an early lunch. It was easy to get a table and ordering is easy with the touch screens. The food came out pretty quickly. You know something, oftentimes when a place on Yelp has a five star average, that means one of two things: 1. A place is really and truly fantabulous. 2. There is something a little bit awry, and the algorithm has not yet picked it up. I'm glad to report in this case it is option one. Eggs With Benefits is all that. My issue with most breakfast places is most often it is something I can make for myself for a tenth of the cost. I'm not keen about paying $14.95 for two eggs, two bacon strips, and a little bit of potatoes, and then $2.95 for coffee, +tax, +tip. EWB is one of (now) three places that has a breakfast I am willing to pay for. The remaining two are in Massachusetts. They are reasonably priced, and their options are interesting and things I wouldn't necessarily make for myself at home. This time, I had a Chorizo Sandwich. The sando was wonderfully flavorful, with the chorizo adding a massive savoriness and having just a tiny bit of kick. The onions added some sweetness and crispness, and the eggs were as soft as could be. As for cheese... well, can't go wrong! I do, however, have two criticisms: 1. While the brioche was soft and a little sweet, I am not sure this was an appropriate choice. The sandwich had a lot of moisture, and the bread was already moist when I first picked it up, and then quickly became a fork and knife affair. 2. The hashbrowns reminded me of the kinds you get at McDonald's. Not bad, but I would have hoped for something a little more home-made and less "Industrial." However, I understand that as this isn't a full sit-down restaurant or diner, it may be a matter of practicality. Finally, the food came out reasonably fast and the staff were kind and welcoming. As for the vibe, it is notably minimalistic, but clean. Thus, Eggs With Benefits is a breakfast place that made into the extremely short list of breakfast places I enjoy. I am greatly looking forward to returning and trying more of their offerings! read more

Place has potential but still not ready to play with the big boys. My dislikes were the sauce wasn't plentiful albeit being responsible for 90% of the flavor. I also didn't like the fact that steak was sort of ground up thus leading it to be messy & most of it residing or falling into your plate. Great scramble eggs in all the dishes and having them in traditional and less common ways (doshirak and Japanese curry). Would have loved to have less plastic (bowls come in ready-to-go takeout bowls which you can slap a lid on for leftovers to take). Would have been fine with tap water (not sure what beverage is best here if not coffee). Canned calamansi soda might have been one option. Of course tap water in a plastic cup is only part-way better than plastic bottled water...just looking at a better beverage pairing while keeping costs down in this counter-service small staff approach. I know this place has high reviews but unfortunately I cannot concur. Visited here recently with my daughter while she was home from college. This place is right near Loyola and we live in the area and always in search of new good breakfast spots. The staff was very friendly, they greeted us (as well as each person who entered) and offered to answer any questions we had. This place is set up so that no one takes your order, you input your own order onto one of the two available touch screens in the place. This quickly caused a line to build as people have varying degrees of comfort and need time to search and check selections, etc. I was surprised to find that as a breakfast place they have NO options for coffee. They literally just offer plan coffee, no special creamers, no lattes, nothing extra. And unfortunately the coffee was terrible! Tasted like gas station coffee. I threw it away and I can usually doctor up a cup of coffee but there was nothing to doctor it up with! The menu is super limited. I had a basic egg breakfast sandwich with came with some sort of sauce on it. It was very moist, which was a strange texture for a breakfast sandwich. (Other reviewers have also mentioned how wet the sandwiches are). We also ordered the "fresh baked donut" to try. It was pretty flavorless and also ended up in the trash. I'd recommend they drastically improve the quality and variety on their menu, and for goodness sakes get some coffee options as a breakfast restaurant! read more

I was extremely excited to see Eggs With Benefits open in the neighborhood because I have been looking for a spot that makes a simple egg sandwich. I finally got around to visiting the restaurant and I do not know what took me so long. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and clean. They opted for a minimalist decor but they have a ton of sitting that could accommodate parties of 1-4 people. This is the perfect spot to attract both the college and local crowd. The staff is top notch at Eggs With Benefits. They were helpful and friendly to every single person that stopped in. On the menu the eggs are described as soft scrambled but I observed them being willing to accommodate someone that wanted harder eggs and bacon. During my visit I asked one of the staff members which sandwich was the most popular and he said it was an even split between the sausage and bacon sandwich. So I opted for the bacon sandwich while my husband got the sausage sandwich both with a side of hash brown. In this day and age when places have to cut back on the size of their dishes, Eggs With Benefits does not hold back. I kid you not, there are not a lot of places I visit in which after the first bite of the food I know they are going to be in the area for awhile. I did not realize how important having seasoned eggs was until I visited Eggs With Benefits. You can tell that they are passionate about having quality breakfast sandwiches while still keeping it reasonability priced. Initially I was hesitant to order the side of hash brown because it felt like it was a lot of food but I wanted to test out the quality. I am so happy I got the hash brown because it was the right amount of crispy without being greasy. I normally stray away from hash browns or tater tots because they are always greasy but I have not idea how they found a way to make it perfectly crispy. I got a solid two meals out of my order. I highly recommend visiting Eggs With Benefits. I can easily see myself visit here weekly because I do not think I have had a better breakfast sandwich since leaving NYC. read more

A delectable soft scramble upon some of the best butter-toasted buns I've ever had... add the garlic mayo, melty cheese and caramelized onions and it's seriously the best breakfast you'll ever have. I've also tried the Japanese curry bowl with the crispiest hashbrown on top. I've also enjoyed a good side of kimchi. And the fresh orange juice is FRESH! We've eaten food from here a few times and it never disappoints! They have breakfast bowls, but our go-to is the Soft Scramble sandwich on Brioche. The combination of the creamy eggs, caramelized onions, chives, and garlic mayo is perfect! I add some sausage to the sandwich and an order of hashbrowns. Parking can be a challenge, but nearby side streets have places to park and are within walking distance. It's practically on the Loyola campus. This place was a Godsend for me and my traveling companions. We were in need of food and I needed to rest as I was not feeling well. We were also caught in the storm that was the software failure for flights. I decided to try it out with my husband and two friends (all first timers) today--I regret sleeping on this restaurant! First thing I noticed--the whole staff seemed very engaged, friendly, and genuinely happy--usually a sign of great leadership and a great experience--and that was the case with our visit. Everything was clean and well-organized, and I liked the simple esthetic of the dining area. The quality of ingredients was fantastic, and all of the food was cooked to perfection. Favorite foods of our table included the Slagel Sausage and Egg sandwich, steak and egg sandwich, and the Japanese curry hash bowl. We also all loved that the menu is simple and uncomplicated--the perfect amount of options and offers something for just about anyone's needs. On a side note, while the owner, Andrew, apologized for this, I was ecstatic to see a line from the order kiosks all the way to the door! Adorable neighborhood gem with an eye-catching name. Saw it across the street from Target so many times I decided I had to try it. I ordered take-out one day and it was ready very quickly.
