He also emailed me all the specs so I can make a final decision on my own time without feeling rushed or pressured. My favorite neighborhood computer store, this place always has a bunch of good stuff for sale and seems to be quite stocked. They give out free 128gb USB flash drives during the holidays to their loyal customers and I think that's pretty cool. Will always look to micro center as my first option before Best Buy. read more

This is like Walmart for computer and electronic supplies. Lots of stuff for anything electronic related. We came to get some printer ink toner and I could almost get lost walking around.. Price seems pretty competitive. I haven't shop for ink for printers for a long time, but the price seemed reasonable. While looking for the ink, I noticed there was a printer on sale for under $40.00. Wow, that's less than the price for the 2 printer ink I was buying. I was almost tempted to get a new printer instead, but since we are only visiting for a short time, I don't want to drive all the way back to FL with a printer in my trunk. Plus I did some research and found the replace ink cartridge is not cheap and not easy to find. We came here because we were in a ink emergency, otherwise we'd have bought the ink on line. But if you just need to pick something up on the go this place seems to be a good place to buy. I just recently discovered this store and I am hooked. They have everything you would ever need that is PC related and more. Using their website I kept making a wishlist and finally decided I wanted to build my very first PC. With the help of a rep named I believe Fizel he was able to look at my list and tell me what was compatible and adjusted certain items on my list to my needs. This rep was the man, knowledgable and did not pressure me to get something I didn't need and listened to what I was using the PC for. Consumer electronics stores come and go, but I've been a fan of Micro Center for a while, frequenting the stores in Westbury and Yonkers. But now that they've opened this brand-spanking new store in Queens, I'll be coming here more often because I don't have to truck 1/2 hour anymore. This big space used to be National Wholesale Liquidators clothing and furniture outlet and I was wondering for a long time who was going to take it over. I usually buy my computer systems on-line for the best deals, but the brick & mortar stores still serve their purpose for all my accessory purchases and Micro Center always has deals on something that I need (or think I need). They have a "Knowledge Bar" similar to the "Genius Bar" at Apple stores and the "Geek Squad" at Best Buy that will help you with your tech problems. And they have pictures of Steve Jobs, Bill Gates & Albert Einstein on the wall behind to back them up. Micro-Center is also the only place I know that discounts Apple products, particularly iPads, and I mean like $50, not $2 like at Walmart. Another unusual thing about this particular Micro-Center is a hobby section that stocks model rockets, a throwback to my teenage years. When the IT team at my school couldn't accommodate me for a repair , I was told by Lenovo to contact the Micro Center. You'll be hard pressed to find a number for this business to contact anyone over the phone. Instead, you log on to their chat and wait for an average of about 1hr for your turn in the queue. I'd recommend, skipping all that and just showing up. The location is huge. There is more than enough parking. The greeter at the door is equipped with sanitizer and ready to share. You walk in while social distancing and turn in your equipment. Turn around time is on average about 5 days if they have to order a part. In this case, this was my Dept of Ed issued to me for teaching from home and when it was returned my students still couldn't hear me even though I was told that the mic was replaced. I don't quite know if it was them or the equipment but the staff there is attentive so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. You'll get a text when your equipment is ready. read more

This place is a great alternative to any electronic store, items here are cheap and they always run promotions. I was able to come here and bought a tablet for $19.99 and received a free USB flash drive along with a micro SD card. Great deal!! The customer service reps at this store is very nice and always willing to help. They have many cool electronics out on display, including a 3D printer that constantly is printing something cool. Every isle is labeled and well-organized. They have a joint parking lot, but it allows for a lot of cars. And even if you're not able to find a spot, you can just wait a few minutes or there is also some street parking. If you join their mailing list, then they would mail you promotions, they don't go crazy about it and just send it to you only once in a while. I recommend signing up for it, this way you can follow what is on sale. read more

My first ever build 1 year old pc died and I tried everything to figure out what was wrong. I gave up and decided to leave it to the professionals (my first time to this electronics brand retail store) and I get Manny who was very helpful gave me some critique on my build and also timely updates on how my Pc was doing (dead CPU). I was able to communicate well with him on getting a new cpu and also Sander who I apparently gave a bracketless AIO but did some research and we got another AIO installed. I did put a suggestion tho for the fans but no reply for a day nor was it done only told it was ready for pickup. Ai wouldve docked a star but when I picked it up I asked Manny about it and he just did it, made sure everything was ok and I was on my way. I'm going to build another PC for my friend and definitely coming back to this location. Thank You! They also have a warranty for repairs I think for 130$ on all parts of your Pc even if it wasnt purchased there for 2 years. This location apparently accepts card payments for $4,000 charges without checking customers ID. So if you want to use a stolen credit card this is the place to go. The store manager should look into what his employees are doing behind the register because charging a credit card - especially for what I'm assuming is $4K worth of electronics and not requesting to check an ID is completely unacceptable. This is a huge issue for a large electronic store and shows that your business and employees are not trust worthy or professional. If you don't want any kind of identity fraud issues I highly advise against shopping at this Micro Center in Queens. Oh, also the Call centers and Customer service is "not available during this time" - during the pandemic and yet the store is open for business, I called 5 times to get help and speak with a manager or the Owner Tom - and no response. read more

As a store it is beautifully set up and categorized with everything I need material wise but the service and employee attention is horrid. I went there to buy a gaming computer spending close to $1,000. But the manager with glasses and green tie just fumbling around on a laptop doing nothing shooed me away to another representative in a white shirt. Then when I went to another representative that I was directed to, he takes 25 minutes , I am standing there just watching the manager , while he does nothing , then he just strikes up a random conversation with another customer talking about irrelevant things. I wait and wait , I couldn't interrupt him as he was talking to someone else. But this was very bad , spent an hour inside the store when it should have only taken 5 minutes... the managers need to do better training on service. Because after today, not going back. read more

This place is huge, it's like a warehouse for computer equipment. I was immediately asked if I needed help when I walked in (very pleased as I definitely felt overwhelmed), and I was directed to the help desk in the back as I have my own build and wanted to upgrade my RAM. I had a list of the compatible RAMs for my motherboard and they had the one I wanted the most in stock. I got some troubleshooting advice as well since my old RAM was giving me problems. I got a print out of my requested item which I brought to the cashier who retrieved it for me. It was all a very quick process because the employees were very knowledgeable. I also bought myself a lens cleaner for my glasses and a computer screen cleaner that were on display near checkout. Also got a can of compressed air to clean out the dust from my keyboards which I did immediately when I got home, very satisfying. I love Micro Center and I'm so glad it's located literally 5 min walking distance from my house! Customer service is excellent, and I remember when I bought a gaming laptop from the store a few years ago the manager and a couple of employees gathered around to congratulate me, which I thought was such a nice gesture! IT support is decent though the wait times can be a bit long so make sure to schedule an appointment in advance. Above all the computer and electronic parts are plentiful, varied, and good quality, even the cheaply priced items. I bought a $30 Koss headset that had better sound and audio than a $60 headset I got from Amazon. Sometimes if I'm taking a walk through the neighborhood I'll visit Micro Center just to see if they have anything new in stock, and I'll even buy candy from there because it's cheaper than at the nearby Walgreen's! Well I've been buying from microcenter for years. When it came to buy a second TV I figured I'd give them a shot. As always when I buy TV's and other appliances I tag along an extended warranty. Micro center has what I thought was a good extended warranty program with a decent price. So I purchased my LG 43UK6090PUA from them with their full extended warranty including screen protection. After a few months my TV would lose WIFI internet connection. It would eventually come back however so I always thought it was an issue on my end. Last week, it never came back. I followed all of the recommended LG fixes and nothing. So I talk to a micro center rep via internet chat (very convenient in these times) and went through the same procedures. Nothing. So they issued me a number to bring to the store that stated my warranty claim was legit. Fast forward to today. The TV couldn't not be repaired at the store and overall to costly to repair so they would issue me a refund. Mind you the refund did not include taxes or the cost of the warranty. HOLD UP....Why did they sell me a warranty if a little over a year later my broken TV could not be repaired or replaced. They sold me a warranty for a TV they had NO INTENTIONS OF repairing or replacing if broken. I did not buy a warranty so that they would give me the cost of my TV back minus tax and minus what I paid for the warranty. They have this years model which is exactly the same in stock and they could have given that to me. Instead I'm out a TV as I cant buy another with the refund given. "Micro Center Date of Purchase Protection Plan* When choosing Protection Plans, not only is your HDTV protected against the added expense of parts and labor to repair it, but it also includes in-store service or shipping to and from the authorized repair center. If it becomes uneconomical to repair during the coverage period, it may be replaced free of charge with a comparable item." Well not only did I pay for the above, I paid for their screen protection plan. WHICH OBVIOUSLY THEY WOULDNT HONOR EITHER IF THAT HAD OCCUED!!! So what gives? They could have easily given me a replacement TV, THE SAME EXACT ONE. Disappointed here. I could have shopped with an online vendor and gotten a better price where they would actually pay for shipping to pick up their non working warrantied TV. Or I could have bought at Best buy or some other company that would actually honor their warranty properly. All I am saying is buyer beware. If they do this with a TV they can do this with a computer or any other device. read more

Impossible to contact any individual location. All calls go thru their national call center. A call center is unable to provide updated information about a particular store. They are unable to see actual items listed on their website. I called in regard to their knowledge bar for computer service. Call center said it wasn't busy just go into the store not a problem. I copied the whole conversation via chat. Get to the store and they said that they had an overflow of computers and that a diagnostic test takes at least 90 minutes. Once again something the call center doesnt tell you. They would have no availability until at least Tuesday! A complete waste of time and gas! Be warned ! I rarely write reviews that are not restaurant related, but felt inclined to do so here. My son's Dell Alienware laptop have had some issues recently with blue screen, and I tried diagnosing it and attempted to reinstall Windows but to no avail. I called Micro Center and was told they charge $40 for the initial diagnosis and if software repair, I am looking at $100 additional. If hardware, then it would be different. I brought in my laptop and within 2 days, I received a text on what the issue was software wise and they were able to refresh and install Windows back on the following day. They asked if I wanted to purchase a 2 years protection program which covers free diagnosis and hardware repair, which I took them up on it. All in all, the technician, Travis, who serviced my computer was very cordial and took the time to explain to me over the phone what the issue was and remediation. I am overall quite pleased with the repair service and based off my solo experience here, I would recommend them. read more

We are extremely, off-the-chart impressed with the performance of our computer after getting it fixed at Micro Center. It's like a new computer! We have a 2009 iMac. Yes, you read that right. Our 2008-2009 iMac was still working but stopped starting up properly. We brought the 24 inch iMac (which has perfect size big screen, but no longer being made by Apple) to Micro Center in Flushing. Was told it would take about 4 business days to have it looked at. But the next morning, I got a text with diagnostic that the hard drive needs to be replaced. I agreed to have it replaced. Only a couple hours later, I got a text it was ready to be picked up. The computer starts up as expected, well, surpasses expectations now because it boots up so much faster, downloads faster from internet, and restarts faster, etc. etc. etc. I love my apple store and the genius bar. But when you can't get an appointment right away at the apple store genius bar and need to drive your desktop computer to a store, consider Micro Center locations, especially this Flushing location. Friendly, competent, fast service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Micro Center for apple computer servicing needs. Our 2009 iMac is more or less a brand new computer now with a new hard drive! Thank you so much!! read more

I'm liking Micro Center better than Best Buy and PC Richards for the reason that I feel it carries more variety and the store itself is just as large. Definitely more variety and more racks of stuff. And cheaper also. And they offer a better deal on the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. So I recently only heard of Micro Center from a friend who told me they carry great deals on electronics and computers, it holds true. Though, someone else told me they been around for a while. First impression is I like the Knowledge Bar; is it like Apple's Genius Bar. I don't know, I have not had the experience with either but looks like a smaller version of it, with high standing chairs in a bar format with techs awaiting customers, two customer already sitting there. Second impression, many bins of accessories on sale at a good price. Camera bags, computer bags, cables, memory, covers, protectors, routers, wireless items, printers, photo printers, etc... Third, laptops and desktops ranging from low prices to the tech geek. Just great. True to a real or DIY tech, in the back there are hard drives, computer cases, boards, fans, cooling systems and tools to build/replace/fix/upgrade ones own computer. There's a help desk in the back to customize your own CPU and board. There's televisions also. But I didn't notice any appliances, where PC Richards and Best Buy would have them beat in that department. But for computers and electronics Micro Center is the place to go. Looks like an electronics store that's almost a Best Buy. I almost get the feeling as if I was getting ripped off, and the employees look like high school kids that want to hustle me out of my lunch money. However, I havent had a bad experience here yet. I bought a Printer which was cheaper than amazon after the mail in rebate. Found a 4K tv for my friend and it was 2 hundred dollars cheaper than amazon as well. Lloyd from the tv section was really helpful too. The thing I noticed is that these employees go hard at trying to sell you in store warranty. Be very wary of the computer repair department. They charged a $40 bench fee for looking at the computer, which is fine. We came here since it was recommend by Lenovo. However, the repair department started ordering parts (without authorization or notification) that cost $900, which is more than a new laptop. We took our laptop and ran out of there as fast as possible. Another small repair shop charged $150 for repairing the same device and problem, so I find Microcenter repair to be very sketchy. I hope others can read this and not be overcharged. After an initial rough start and not being one to hold a grudge, I've returned to Microcenter a few times for a few small purchases. It seemed that with each visit, my shopping experiences have gradually improved from a customer service perspective. In an effort to not list the specifics, I shall give a top down summary. General Manager Tom Eckhart is a straight up kinda guy, appearing to be a serious guy with a very communicable persona. My problem was solved swiftly and conclusively due in large part to his ability to listen, decipher (BS from other) and decide quickly followed by a card holding flick of the wrist. As with all business cards has his contact info on it, the sincerity of the delivery spoke "let me know if you need additional help". Adam, who is the second in command, was as helpful as I could have hoped for in Tom's stead. read more
