I called in this morning for an emergency CPU swap. They were able to accommodate me right away, and got me in and out in 20 minutes. I could tell the technician was very experienced by how quickly and easily he did the swap, it was clearly second nature, I imagine he's done it thousands of times. That is the kind of person you want to be working on your high end PC. They were also very helpful and provided a plan to test the PC to ensure everything was working when I got home, and explained which software to download for the tests. Super helpful! I had a weird keyboard issue (handful of keys sometimes working, sometimes not) and the guy here told me the best way to check what was causing the issue was to buy an external keyboard (about $20) and see if the same issue happened then. If the problem was fixed, great; if not, I could come back and the next potential fix would be about $95. (Some sort of driver reinstall??? I'm no computer expert.) Anyway, all this advice was for FREE. He could have just reinstalled a new keyboard, but that would be $200+ according to him, so this was much better and more helpful. Off to buy an external keyboard and hope it fixes my problem! EDIT: Yup, the $20 external keyboard fixed my problem. :D read more

This is an update because my original review was 7 years ago and I thought I should provide a more recent review. Today I went back to TA PC with a Dell laptop that wouldn't charge. I had two original Dell chargers at home and both were giving me an error message when I plugged the laptop in (despite continuing to charge), so I concluded that the laptop (not the chargers) were the problem. I even threw one away. The one I kept went from error messages to actually not charging at all so I was left with a 5% charge in my battery and no way to use the computer after the battery ran out. I had already contacted Dell about this problem in the past when I first started getting the error message a few months ago and they gave me a song and dance about my laptop being out of warranty but I was welcome to ship it to them and they would be happy to take a lot of my money, blah blah. So this time I called TA PC and he told me he would help me find an upgraded charger to buy that might work. He did give me that info but it turned out that he also happened to have an old original Dell charger in the shop that fit my laptop AND IT WORKED. And he gave it to me for free. Excellent result. Al is the man!! I came in with an HP laptop that is quite a few years old. It was overheating, had a virus, and was just totally acting up on me. Al replaced the hard drive and cleaned out the computer while saving all my data/photos. He even upgraded my windows, added the newest version of Microsoft office, and gave me a replacement battery (I misplaced mine), all at no extra charge!! He did this in just of 2 or 3 days. His prices are very fair and reasonable. And if you answer a trivia questions correctly he will knock a couple bucks off your bill! He's one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. I could not get past the flashing file with the question mark on my startup screen with my older iMac. I decided to call one day, took my older iMac into Al in the next and by the end of that day I had the latest OS working happily. With the diagnostic cost being factored into the repair bill the price was extremely reasonable. Honestly the speed and the service could not be beat. No BS. Questions were asked if I needed to save anything from the hard-drive. The option was given for me to upgrade my internal equipment, but given the life of the computer I felt it to be not worthwhile. Al was fantastic. I was doing my own data back up on an old IDE hard drive, I broke the pin and even removed the pin from it's solder. I didn't have my tools on me so in a panic I did a search in the area to find some repair shops. I found this one and thank God I did. Al was able to solder the pin back and adjust the pin right on the spot and leant me better cables to do my back up. This all was unexpected and amazing. This is one of those local businesses I would give 6 stars if I could. This guy is amazing. In 2017, I brought Almir my Yoga Lenovo laptop that was not charging or turning on. Geek Squad had quoted me $350 to fix it. I was about to scrap it and put the money toward a new computer, since it was a few years old. ***TA PC Repair fixed it for HALF THE PRICE within 48 hours!*** To top it off, the owner is a really nice person. My iMac has been winding down for months, and I was putting off getting it checked out because at 5 years old I assumed the answer would be "buy a new computer". This past week it hit a breaking point, with multiple freezes, Bluetooth disappearances, and spontaneous self-restarts, and I couldn't ignore it any longer. Within 5 minutes of having my computer on the bench, Al let me know my hard drive was shot, explaining the lifespan and connecting the dots for me on the many symptoms I was describing. He then went over HD options in detail, and even going with the more expensive SSD the total came to less than half of what I'd been bracing for. He had it in the shop for two days (not counting Sunday) and when I picked it up, he took a moment to demonstrate the computer's new functionality. Al is down to earth and awesome. Not long ago, an Apple specialist told me that my Macbook Pro 2012 is now considered "vintage" and on the brink of extinction. No. I didn't want to give up on my machine so easily. Yes, it was running painfully slow and was in dire need of clearing old junk that just took up way too much storage space. I purchased a Samsung 1TB Solid State Drive and visited Al to install it in addition to other minor adjustments. He did it! Perfect :) It's now running smooth and fast!
