We had high hopes for doing business with this service, but the technician that we spoke with was very unfriendly, unhelpful, and almost made us feel as though he did not want to do business with us. Previously, we had had a good experience with this company, but this time was a total disappointment and I would not recommend anyone doing business with these people at all.. yes, it was extremely disappointing and made us feel as though he did not want to serve us read more

Five stars all around. My computer literally broke and the great staff at D&Q got it back to me within a week at a reasonable price. The staff are super knowledgeable about computers and willing to talk through the issues with my computer in a way that wasn't totally over my head. This really is a top notch place to go to with any PC issues. I'll be recommending D&Q to any one who needs to get something fixed. Thank you, team!! read more

Best computer repair store. Very honest business quick service. I had an issue that we initially thought was fixed. After a few days when the issue came back they realized it was unfixable after a second review I received a full refund. I highly recommend and will return back for any issues with future computers. read more

Fixed my computer and provided detailed receipts of all work done. Seem knowledgeable and well organized

DandQ is the place to go for computer needs! No Chain store. No wait. Just super helpful and knowledgable people that are very reasonable and polite. I have an old macbook that needed a new battery and installation. Within 40 minutes they called me to come pick it up. Always a pleasure doing business here. read more

I'm a repeat customer. 5 Stars. My 6 year old laptop is running like new. They Installed a new hard drive and fixed my Windows registry issue. A very fair price charged for the labor and hardware. Highly recommended. read more

These guys are the best-efficient, personal service. I always turn to them w/any problems.

My computer is 7 years old, and Suddenly Died. Flat line, no pulse, no action, no matter what I did, it was dead dead dead dead. And of course I hadn't backed it up in a year. My wife found this spot, and my first reaction is Ave B? How good could it be if it's on Ave B? Well let me tell you, these folks are the best. Calm, cool, no judgements, no crazy promises, just focused on how to bring the computer back to life. And they did. They were methodical and took the time they needed to get the job done correctly. I will be using them for all my repairs and upgrades from now on. read more

Very friendly to customer. They were able to take fast inspection, communicated with me and fixed my PC. Drop off and pick up are very easy.

Recently purchased a laptop here as well as a great web camera & accessories. The guy who helped me was very polite and they even put set up the laptop (including the web cam program) free of charge Definitely the place to go if you want friendly, knowledgeable service without the flim flamming, every trick to extort money from you or Best Buy's nasty attitude. read more

These dudes are amazing! They saved my computer in less time than they said and cheaper than they quoted, has that ever happened in the history of NYC? I think no. They have a small admittedly sketchy looking store but go in and trust that they will get done what needs to get down. I had spilled some water on my key board and thought my laptop was done forever...nope, D&Q resurrected it. read more

Don't be fooled by their Reviews !!! I went into this place after reading all the positive reviews, I brought in my 1TB external drive to try and recover the data on the hard drive, the drive had no water damage and has never been dropped, so I thought for sure they would recover the data after reading their Positive reviews, But I got a call from them the next day saying they could not recover the data, they couldn't even figure out what the issue was. They said I could sent a to a lab that they partner with so the lab could try and recover the data at a cost of $4,000-$5,000 ridiculous ! I ended up paying $27.22 so they could tell me they can't recover the data ! I can just imagine how much money they take from people just to do a diagnostic test. read more

When my laptop was slowing to a crawl after getting the latest Window 10 updates I realized I was out of my depth and needed professional help. D & Q was recommended to me by the Rossman Group, a well respected Mac repair shop. I took my lethargic laptop in, and D & Q quickly diagnosed my problem as a dying hard drive. Hate when that happens! They installed a lightning-fast new high-capacity SDD drive, improved the cooling system I had worked on myself a few years back, and turned the job around in one day. Did I mention their price was incredibly reasonable? I can't recommend these guys enough. Two thumbs up! read more

First time I tried D+Q, so glad I did! Computer came apart -- literally -- and battery stopped charging. They'd seen the issue before, charged a reasonable price to take a look, confirm issue and fix it. All within two days. They kept me in touch. What else can I say, they're honest and good. read more

Came in last minute and they got my computer fixed within the hour! They were great, would definitely recommend coming here.

I would give D and Q 1000 stars on Yelp if I could. There are no words to describe how grateful I am to the staff at D & Q. I was beyond devastated when I came home from vacation and was unable to start up my desktop computer. After trying to fix the problem myself by watching a few You Tube videos and purchasing some random cable at Best Buy to try and transfer my data to my computer at work with no success, I brought the hard drive to D and Q. Chun was so kind and helpful. They managed to get all my data off the damaged drive and transfer it on to two external drives. There's a lot to be said for getting the job done, but I really appreciated how nice the staff was. When I arrived with the external drives to give to the employees, they remembered me, "That's Stephanie, her drive is over there" These guys saved years of photographs, documents, presentations, etc. There are really no words to express how thankful I am! read more

I am writing this review during my exhausting preparation for a midterm tomorrow, just to imply how much I am thankful for these guys that giving them a five-star review comes in a higher priority than anything else. For an international student, whose Dell computer's warranty is only eligible in another country, there can be no more words to express how desperate I was when my only one-year-old computer was water damaged. And plus, there clearly is not as many choices for a PC to get repair as a MacBook in the U.S. And plus plus, we are all aware that how these repair shops can easily play little tricks and get more money from us without we even realize what is wrong. All the concerns just kept jumping out of my mind as I panicked and panicked and panicked. But none of these happened. I left my computer there, and they said to call me in two days for they were insanely busy. But I received their the next day and got my computer back the day after, just right in time for me to finish up my paper which was due in one day. My computer, of course, was back to life again. What's more, they waived my diagnosis fee and fixed my touchpad which was already broken before the water damage for free. They even cleaned up my screen which is covered with dust -- they don't have to any of those at all!!! Just to say how much they care about the clients into the smallest details. They definitely deserve more five-star review on this Yelp page. Please, if you need computer repair, go to D&Q. They will give you such a strong sense of security that no panic is necessary, whatever is wrong with your computer. read more

This should be your first and only stop for all your computer needs. I forgot my charger cable at work and needed to work from home. I first went to Best Buy and even brought my laptop with me. It did not matter. The sales guy just told me to pick up the Universal cable cord box and it will work. Once I got home and tried it, I wanted to CRY. It did not work. So I waited until D&Q opened at 10, I took my laptop and the expert was nice enough to find the cable that worked for it. Bingo! Best Buy was the WORST Buy. D&Q is the GREAT place. read more

I have used D & Q Computer for the past 20 years. They have fixed my desktop computers and are now working on my laptop which is overloaded with pop ups. Personable reliable service. They outperform any chain store repair center. read more

I dropped my laptop off with them in december before COVID-19 hit. I was quoted the price for my motherboard replacement shortly afterward and needed some time to build the funds to pay for the repair. Then COVID hit and my laptop was then in limbo. Understandably they couldn't operate their business in the early months of the pandemic. Did they sell my laptop to mitigate their loss of business? Did they reenact the office space copier smashing scene with my laptop to alleviate their rage? no. What they did was hold on to my laptop and patiently await my call to put down for the repair and then a mere week later, I got my laptop back in pristine condition and functioning better than I remember. I even think i had a screw missing in the chassis that they replaced for me for no charge. Amazing. I'm floored by D & Q Computer's quality and ethic of work. I can't say enough good words. Every time I have an issue that is outside my wheelhouse with my machines, they will be first call and absolutely should be yours. Thank you D & Q!!! read more

Let's discuss life without a computer when you basically live alone, are on holiday, and are "too good" for a television. A heroin overdose would be more stimulating. Thanks to me being an idiot and the most expensive cup of coffee ever, this is how I rang in 2013. Meaning the D&Q employees could have hurled gross things at me and I would still give them a 5 star rating for fixing my laptop in an expedient manner. But there were no gross things, they were wonderful- personal, professional, up to and including the timely phone updates. The entire process took less than 4 solid days, even with the ordering and shipping of special parts during the New Year's week. Was it free or close to free? No. But it was faster than the Apple store and regardless of the expenditure, a working Mac Air that doesn't type out hieroglyphics is a lot better than another night of Hulu Plus on an iPhone. read more

Meh is the perfect word to describe this place. I brought my laptop in for some power problems. They wanted to charge $35 for a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with my computer even though I already knew, this $35 diagnostic test was an additional charge on top of whatever it cost to fix the laptop. I would expect the cost of the diagnostic test to go towards the total cost of the fix but it doesn't. Since I didn't want the test, they charged me $140 to fix the problem as I described it and if I was wrong and it was a different problem, I would have to pay an additional fee for the diagnostic test AND for them to fix whatever the problem is. As for the problem with my computer, it wasn't charging and I highly suspected it was due to the power jack so I forked over my credit card, and paid the fee. They told me they would either fix the part that was broken or replace it. I thought it was strange that it was the same price even though they may not have to put a new part in. The second thing that I thought was weird, was that they told me there was a problem with my charger and wanted me to pay $25 for a new charger. When I got to the store to pick up my computer the next day, I plugged my old charger into my computer and it charged just fine. They told me that it hadn't worked a minute ago, and maybe it didn't, we've all had things like that happen, but it any case, I left the store feeling uncomfortable and a bit confused. Looking back I realized they never actually confirmed if they fixed the jack or if they put a new one in and I still feel like if they just fixed the jack, it should have been cheaper than if they put a new one in. I also felt uncomfortable with the fact that they charged me BEFORE they fixed my computer. I've thought about it and can't come up with any scenario that doesn't include charging people upfront so that even if they're unhappy with your service, it doesn't matter because they already paid. Thankfully they take credit so if you're unhappy you can report it to your credit card company. This place was the highest rated computer repair place on yelp, so it could be that the competition in the city is even worse, but in any case, I probably wouldn't go back here again. read more

I haven't written in review in a while but I wanted to leave a review for its excellent customer service and professionalism. Well deserved five star. They accomplished a feat that I thought was nearly impossible. My computer went back to factory setting and it took me by surprise so I didn't have my data backed up. I panicked and proceeded to call multiple data recovery/computer repair shops in Manhattan but they all told me it was impossible to restore data after the computer has been reset or quoted me a ridiculous price. Then I found D&Q on Yelp. After reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to call them. They were friendly, professional, and quoted me a really reasonable price. They also attempted five different programs to retrieve my data and were successful at recovering a good majority of it. From my personal experience and other reviews, D&Q computer offers good price and takes the time to explain your options to you. Two thumbs up! read more

Update: I've been here three times, and they've been great every time. My laptop is about five years old and still working (knock on wood).

Amazingly fast and affordable service. I spilled water on my Macbook Air, and waited months to get it fixed knowing that the service was going to cost me half of the price of the computer. I went in, told them exactly what was wrong, they had the part and fixed it for half the price anyone else had quoted me. On top of that, I had my computer back in less than 24 hours. I will be returning here for anything I need in the future! read more

I'm so glad I found them! I've taken my Lenovo All-In-One PC almost everywhere and I've been told a range of things as well as a range of price quotes (some ridiculous) since it was a hardware issue. Some folks even told me that I should just call Lenovo directly and ship my computer to middle-of-nowhere, USA for them to fix. Until I found D&Q. D & Q is honest, down to earth, and amazing. They're really go the extra mile to explain to you what went wrong, WHY your computer is acting the way it is, what they need to order (hardware parts) and what they've done to fix it. Their prices are very fair and the wait time was only a few days. Saved me on ridiculous shipping fees and months of waiting had I decided to ship it back to Lenovo. I could not be happier! Definitely will be coming back here if I need their services. read more

One can get through life a little easier with a good lawyer, doctor, physical trainer (in my marshmellowy case), and ever-important--a trustworthy computer expert. D & Q have become such for me. My MacBook Pro suffered water damage, rendering the logic board dead. I had first brought my computer to The Mac Fix and was disappointed with the long wait, an odd mishap, and poor communication. I then brought my computer to D & Q, and in under a week had a new logic board--a hard-to-find original custom order--installed and working as smooth as it did before the damage. Don (at D & Q) promptly kept me in the loop of what he ordered, when it arrived, and the results of his testing, upon which I was given a warranty for service and parts should the logic board replacement fail. I didn't expect things to go this smoothly, but it did--and feel good about now knowing someone I can trust with future computer problems. read more

When my used electronics place closed down without warning, I went into a panic. My old Macbook Pro needed a new battery and the charger wasn't charging? Or was it? Or was the battery that bad? As most of us know, this would easily be a $300 + visit to the Apple store or even Best Buy. So I turned to (what else?) YELP. And there it was, literally a block away from where I work. I've passed it every day. I emailed my needs to the address on their website and Chun got back to me within a few hours with a price for a NEW battery ($89 + tax). Nearly half the price of any other place i had researched. He even told me that if I brought my computer with me, he would install it for me. I told him that I would be in tomorrow, but then I changed my mind and went the same day, arriving about 20 minutes before closing. They changed my battery in under 10 minutes (in time for Giants kickoff), fixed the time settings, and even examined my charger. It turns out some pins were stuck, and they even tried to get them to come down, but to no avail. I bought a new charger from them for $45. I will definitely be returning to update my software. read more

I never write reviews, in fact i took my computer here (An HP with a cracked screen bezel) over a month ago but I feel like service like this must be rewarded, and the least I can do is write something. First, they're incredibly professional, efficient and honest! Such a hard thing to find, the expedience was appreciated because i work in the legal field and I have all my client files on my laptop. Second, the guy talked me out of paying for an entire replacement (about 400 dollars) and instead gave me a cheaper alternative (100), i have NEVER seen anyone talk customers into a cheaper option. I can't recommend this place enough, great guys! read more

I walked in because the Wifi on my 5 year old laptop wasn't working. The clerk (young guy) took the time to tell me what the problem was and what my options were. He then showed me a USB 2.0 Wifi Adapter. I walked out and ordered the Wifi Adapter on eBay for $1.50, it arrived today, and I was able to fix the problem. So yes, D & Q didn't fix this problem, but the clerk did spend ~5 minutes with me to diagnose the problem and they saved me about $100. I also used them in ~2014 when my baby niece spilled ice on my laptop (same laptop as above). They replaced the keyboard on the HP DM1 Pavilion. It cost around $180 but the value was perfect, as the computer has been fine ever since (except for the Wifi issue above, which is now fixed). read more

I love these guys!!!! :)!!!! My hp laptop (had for 4 years worked great all four years), decided to die about three days ago! The cooling fan on my laptop stopped working :(. I know, horrific. But it can't die! I have one more semester at penn state, needs to last me a bit longer until I can afford a new one for grad school :( . Sooooo.... I yelped several places. I was very close to going to another that was charging 200 dollars! for what they charged me 85 (which he did say the price would vary depending on model and age but that was the price for my specific laptop). I came in as soon as they opened, told them my issues with my laptop. And they did give me a much longer estimate. I told them I'm leaving back to PSU in a couple days for good :( , he responded "oh okay, I'll make a note of that and we'll do the best we can" PSH!! and the best they can they DID! Within 4 hours my laptop was ready!! :) UGH these guys are lifesavers!! I love them so much now! I recommend them, their affordable and speedy!! :) So glad I didn't give up hope! :) read more
